1Comment on “Computer Algebra and Solutions to the Karamoto-Sivashinsky Equation” [Commun. Theor. Phys. (Beijing, China) 43 (2005) 39]显示文摘In a recent article [Commun. Theor. Phys. (Beijing, China) 43 (2005) 39], Xie et al. improved the extended tanh function method by introducing a generalized Riccati equation and its new solutions. Then they choose the Karamoto-Sivashinsky (KS) equation to illustrate their approach and obtain many exact solutions of the KS equation.So they claim that, by using their method, one not only can successfully recover the previously known formal solutions but also construct new and more general formal solutions for some nonlinear evolution equations. 7Rumor Spreading Model with Trust Mechanism in Complex Social Networks显示文摘In this paper, to study rumor spreading, we propose a novel susceptible-infected-removed (SIR) model by introducing the trust mechanism. We derive mean-field equations that describe the dynamics of the SIR model on homogeneous networks and inhomogeneous networks. Then a steady-state analysis is conducted to investigate the critical threshold and the final size of the rumor spreading. We show that the introduction of trust mechanism reduces the final rumor size and the velocity of rumor spreading, but increases the critical thresholds on both networks. Moreover, the trust mechanism not only greatly reduces the maximum rumor influence, but also postpones the rumor terminal time, which provides us with more time to take measures to control the rumor spreading. 8Using Symbolic Computation to Exactly Solve the Integrable Broer-Kaup Equations in (2+1)-Dimensional Spaces显示文摘The extended tanh method is further improved by generalizing the Riccati equation and introducing its twenty seven new solutions. As its application, the (2+ 1)-dimensional Broer-Kaup equation is investigated and then its fifty four non-travelling wave solutions have been obtained. 10Effective Mass of Strong-Coupling Bound Polaron in a Triangular Quantum Well Induced by Rashba Effect显示文摘In this paper,on the basis of Huybrechts' strong-coupling polaron model,the Tokuda modified linear-combination operator method and the unitary transformation method are used to study the properties of the strong-coupling bound polaron considering the influence of Rashba effect,which is brought by the spin-orbit (SO) interaction,in the semiconductor triangular quantum well (TQW).Numerical calculation on the RbCl TQW,as the example,isperformed.The expressions for the effective mass of the polaron as a function of the vibration frequency,the velocity,the Coulomb bound potential and the electron areal density are derived.Numerical results show that the total effectivemass of the polaron is composed of three parts.The interactions between the orbit and the spin with different directionshave different effects on the effective mass of the bound polaron.ZHANG Hai-Rui XIAO Jing-Lin 2008Communications in Theoretical Physics2008,50,10:17

16(G′/G)-Expansion Method for Solving Fractional Partial Differential Equations in the Theory of Mathematical Physics显示文摘In this paper, the (G′/G)-expansion method is extended to solve fractional partial differential equations in the sense of modified Riemann-Liouville derivative. Based on a nonlinear fractional complex transformation, a certain fractional partial differential equation can be turned into another ordinary differential equation of integer order. For illustrating the validity of this method, we apply it to the space-time fractional generalized Hirota-Satsuma coupled KdV equations and the time-fractional fifth-order Sawada-Kotera equation. 19Optimization of high-speed railway pantographs for improving pantograph-catenary contact显示文摘A crucial system for the operation of high-speed trains is the pantograph catenary interface as it is the sole responsible to deliver electrical power to the train. Being the catenary a stationary system with a long lifespan it is also less likely to be redesigned and upgraded than the pantographs that fit the train vehicles. This letter proposes an optimization procedure for the improvement of the contact quality between the pantograph and the catenary solely based on the redesign of the pantograph head suspension characteristics. A pantograph model is defined and validated against experimental dynamic characteristics of existing pantographs. An optimization strategy based on the use of a global optimization method, to find the vicinity of the optimal solution, followed by the use of a deterministic optimization algorithm, to fine tune the optimal solution, is applied here. The spring stiffness, damping characteristics and bow mass are the design variables used for the pantograph optimization. The objective of the optimal problem is the minimization of the standard deviation of the contact force history, which is the most important quantity to define the contact quality. The pantograph head suspension characteristics are allowed to vary within technological realistic limits. 20A New Approach to Solve Nonlinear Wave Equations显示文摘From the nonlinear sine-Gordon equation, new transformations are obtained in this paper, which are applied to propose a new approach to construct exact periodic solutions to nonlinear wave equations.
