| 1 | Hepatoprotective and immunomodulatory properties of aqueous extract of Curcuma longa in carbon tetra chloride intoxicated Swiss albino mice显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the hepatoprotective and immunotherapeutic effects of aqueous extract of turmeric rhizome in CCl_4 intoxicated Swiss albino mice.Methods:first group of mice(n=5) received CCl_4 treatment at a dose of 0.5 mL/kg bw(i.p.) for 7 days.Second group was fed orally the aqueous extract of turmeric at a dose of 50 mg/kg bw for IS days.The third group was given both the turmeric extract(for 15 days,orally) and CCl_4(for last 7 days,i.p.).The fourth group was kept as a control.To study the liver function,the transaminase enzymes(SGOT and SGPT) and bilirubin level were measured in the serum of respective groups.For assaying the immunotherapeutic action of Curcuma longa(C.longa),non specific host response parameters like morphological alteration,phagocytosis,nitric oxide release,myeloperoxidase release and intracellular killing capacity of peritoneal macrophages were studied from the respective groups.Results:The result of present study suggested that CCl_4 administration increased the level of SCOT and SGPT and bilirubin level in serum.However,the aqueous extract of turmeric reduced the level of SGOT, SCFT and bilirubin in CCl_4 intoxicated mice.Apart from damaging the liver system,CCl_4 also reduced non specific host response parameters like morphological alteration,phagocytosis, nitric oxide release,myeloperoxidase release and intracellular killing capacity of peritoneal macrophages.Administration of aqueous extract of C.longa offered significant protection from these damaging actions of CCl_4 on the non specific host response in the peritoneal macrophages of CCl_4 intoxicated mice.Conclusions:In conclusion,the present study suggests that C.longa has immunotherapeutic properties along with its ability to ameliorate hepatotoxicity. | Mahuya Sengupta Gauri Dutta Sharma Biswajit Chakraborty | 2011 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2011,1,3: | 11 |
| 2 | 基于有限元法的硬脑膜外视皮层电刺激仿真研究显示文摘经硬脑膜对视皮层电刺激是治疗失明的新思路。为从理论上认识其作用机制,首先建立视皮层区域的有限元仿真模型,分析脑组织内电场分布,并用激活函数和组织活化区来表征外加刺激的作用效果;随后逐次改变单相脉冲的幅值、脉宽和频率,通过基波作用下组织活化区的变化来探讨不同刺激参数对结果的影响。仿真结果显示,经硬脑膜可以实现对视皮层的有效刺激,只是所需刺激强度比直接皮层刺激约高30倍;多电极刺激模式下,只要电极间距超过5 mm,电极间的影响可忽略不计;降低幅值、脉宽和频率等参数,可以改善单相方波脉冲的刺激效果,其中幅值的减小对空间分辨率的提高效果最为显著。所得结论对实验具有一定指导意义。 | 侯文生 章毅 郑小林 吴小鹰 阴正勤 JIANG Yingtao BISWAJIT Das | 2010 | 中国生物医学工程学报2010,29,4: | 9 |

| 6 | Absolute copy number differences of Y chromosomal genes between crossbred (Bos taurus×Bos indicus) and Indicine bulls显示文摘Background: The Y chromosome in mammal is paternally inherited and harbors genes related to male fertility and spermatogenesis. The unique intra-chromosomal recombination pattern of Y chromosome and morphological difference of this chromosome between Bos taurus and Bos indicus make it an ideal model for studying structural variation, especially in crossbred(Bos taurus × Bos indicus) bulls. Copy Number Variation(CNV) is a type of genomic structural variation that gives information complementary to SNP data. The purpose of this study was to find out copy number differences of four Y chromosomal spermatogenesis-related candidate genes in genomic DNA of crossbred and purebred Indicine bulls. Result: Four Y chromosomal candidate genes of spermatogenesis namely, sex determining gene on Y chromosome(SRY), DEAD box polypeptide 3-Y chromosome(DDX3Y), Ubiquitin specific peptidase 9, Y-linked(USP9Y), testis-specific protein on Y chromosome(TSPY) were evaluated. Absolute copy numbers of Y chromosomal genes were determined by standard curve-based quantitative real time PCR. Copy numbers of SRY and TSPY genes per unit amount of genomic DNA are higher in crossbred than Indicine bulls. However, no difference was observed in DDX3Y and USP9Y gene copy numbers between two groups. Conclusion: The present study demonstrates that the structural organization of Y chromosomes differs between crossbred and Indicine bulls which are reproductively healthy as observed from analysis of semen attributes. The absolute copy numbers of SRY and TSPY genes in unit mass of genomic DNA of crossbred bulls are significantly higher than Indicine bulls. No alteration in absolute copies of DDX3Y and USP9Y gene was found between the genome of crossbred and Indicine bulls. | 7 | Regeneration of Cytologically Stable Plants Through Dedifferentiation, Redifferentiation, and Artificial Seeds in Spathoglottis plicata Blume.(Orchidaceae)显示文摘Spathoglottis plicata Blume. is a horticulturally important vulnerable ground orchid with beautiful flowers blooming round the year. Highfrequency protocorm-like body(PLB) formation was established via callus culture from vegetative tissues of in vitro germinated seedlings of S.plicata. Media containing MS salts and Gamborg's B5 vitamins supplemented with 1.0 mg·L^(-1) 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid(2,4-D), 3.0 mg·L^(-1) α-naphthaleneacetic acid(NAA), 1.0 mg·L^(-1) kinetin(KIN), and 10%(v/v) ‘Aloe vera gel'(Av G) were effective in fragile calli induction. A maximum of(22.3 ± 0.52) PLBs were induced from about 250 mg callus within 45–55 days in the presence of 2.0 mg·L^(-1) NAA and 3.0 mg·L^(-1) 6-benzylaminopurine(BAP). Briefly, 3.0% sodium alginate was found to be most suitable for the formation of an appropriate shape and good germination rates(86.7%)of artificial seeds. Out of three different temperatures(4, 15, and 24 °C), the best result was achieved at 4 °C with 66.7% germinability even after90 days of storage. Plantlets were acclimatized with 86.6% survival rate and 76.3% of these plants produced flowers within 12–15 months of field transfer. | 8 | Variation and dispersal of PM_(10) and PM_(2.5) during COVID-19 lockdown over Kolkata metropolitan city,India investigated through HYSPLIT model显示文摘The higher concentration of PM_(10) and PM_(2.5) in the lower atmosphere is severely harmful for human health and it also makes visibility diminution along with weather and climate modifications.The main objective is to find out the spatiotemporal variation and dispersal of PM_(10) and PM_(2.5) along with COVID-19 infection in the dusty city Kolkata.The consecutive two years PM_(10) and PM_(2.5) data of different stations have been obtained from State Pollution Control Board,Govt.of West Bengal.Forward trajectory analysis has been done through HYSPLIT(Hybrid Single Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory)model to find the path and direction of air particles.The result showed that the various meteorological or environmental factors(such as temperature,relative humidity,wind,wind speed,pressure and gusty wind)and geographical location regulate the spatiotemporal variation of PM_(10) and PM_(2.5).These factors like high temperature with relative humidity and strong wind influence to disperse the particulate matters from north to south direction from city to outside during summer in Kolkata metropolitan city.During summer(both pre and lockdown years),the height of particles is extended up to 1000 m owing to active atmospheric ventilation whereas in winter it is confined within 100 m.The HYSPLIT model clearly specified that the particles dispersed from south,south-west to north and north east direction due to strong wind.The constant magnification of PM_(10) and PM_(2.5) in the lower atmosphere leads to greater frequency of COVID-19 infections and deaths.In Kolkata,the one of the crucial reasons of high infection and deaths(COVID-19)is co-morbidity of people. | Biswajit Bera Sumana Bhattacharjee Nairita Sengupta Soumik Saha | 2022 | Geoscience Frontiers2022,13,1: | 2 |
