1Study on Age and Education Level and Their Relationship with Fall-Related Injuries in Shanghai, China显示文摘Objective To study age and educational level and their relationship with fall-related injuries in Shanghai and to analyze the relevant costs. Methods Multistage cluster sampling was used for the selection of participants and standardized questionnaires were used for the information collection in 2006. Information on cases and deaths caused by fall-related injuries were obtained from 494 hospitals as well as from the mortality registry systems from 2001 till 2010. Results Of 45 857 participates, 674 suffered from fall-related injuries with the largest proportion among all injuries. The fall-related mortality increased from 10.63 per 100 000 in 2001 to 14.11 per 100 000 in 2010. The under-five mortality rate was the highest among children aged 0-14 years. Mortality increased dramatically among those aged 55 or above for the female and aged 60 or older for the male. Individuals with an educational level under the primary school were more likely to suffer fall-related injuries, accounting for 72.66% of all deaths and 49.24% of nonfatal cases respectively. The annual burden of fall-related injuries equated to 25.90% of the share of GDP for the healthcare, social security and welfare industries in 2006. Conclusion Fall-related injuries were inversely related to victims' educational level. 2Removal of adhesive dusts from flue gas using corona discharges with spraying water显示文摘Effective removal of adhesive and fine dusts from flue gas is very difficult. A new method of electrostatic precipitation of the corona discharges with spraying water(CDSW) was introduced. A new electrode configuration and the circulation spraying of water were employed in the method. The efficient electrostatic precipitation for adhesive and fine dusts can be accomplished without any drain water during a long operating period. The fundamental structure, discharge characteristics, mechanism of spraying and precipitation principle of the electrostatic precipitation using CDSW were described and analyzed. The V I characteristics, spraying state, supplying water quantity, influence of temperature and clean of the electrodes were researched in series experiments. The treating effects of circulating spraying using the corona plasma at the same time of electrostatic precipitation were investigated. 6NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF FORGING AND SUBSEQUENT HEAT TREATMENT OF A ROD BY A FINITE VOLUME METHOD显示文摘A method to simulate processes of forging and subsequent heat treatment of an axial symmetric rod is formulated in eulerian description and the feasibility is investigated. This method uses finite volume mushes for troching material deformation and an automatically refined facet surface to accurately trace the free surface of the deforming material.In the method,the deforming work piece flows through fixed finite volume meshes using eulerian formulation to describe the conservation laws,Fixed finite volume meshing is particularly suitable for large three-dimensional deformation such as forging because remeshing techniques are not required, which are commonly considered to be the main bottelencek in the ssimulations of large defromation by using the finite element method,By means of this finite volume method, an approach has been developed in the framework of 'metallo-thermo-mechanics' to simulate metallic structure, temperature and stress/strain coupled in the heat treatment process.In a first step of simulation, the heat treatment solver is limited in small deformation hypothesis,and un- coupled with forging. 8Preparation of Mg-Li alloys by electrolysis in molten salt at low temperature显示文摘A new technology for preparation of low cost Mg-Li alloys was studied. The alloys were prepared by electrolysis in molten LiCl-KCl (weight ratio is 1:1) electrolyte with Mg rod severing as the consumed cathode. Main factors that affect current efficiency were investigated, and optimal electrolysis parameters were obtained. Mg-Li alloys with low lithium content (about 25%) were prepared by the unique method of a higher post-thermal treatment temperature after electrolysis at low temperature. 9Streptozotocin-induced expression of Ngn3 and Pax4 in neonatal rat pancreatic α-cells显示文摘AIM:To investigate the mechanism behind β-cell regeneration in neonatal rat pancreas treated with streptozotocin (STZ).METHODS:Neonatal Sprague Dawley rats were intraperitoneally injected with 70mg/kg STZ.Body weight,pancreas weight and blood glucose were recorded every two days after the treatment.To identify the expression and location of transcription factors in the rat pancreas,double immunofluorescent staining was performed using antibodies to specific cell markers and transcription factors.RESULTS:Expression of Neurogenin 3 (Ngn3),a marker for endocrine precursor cells,was observed by immunofluorescence in a few β-cells and many α-cells.The expression reached a peak 12 d after treatment.Pax4,a transcription factor that lies downstream of Ngn3 and plays an important role in β-cell differentiation,was also expressed in the α-cells of STZ-treated rats.We did not observe significant changes in Nkx6.1,which is essential for β-cell maturation in the treated rats.CONCLUSION:α-cells dedifferentiated into endocrine precursor cells and acquired the ability to dedifferentiate in the neonatal rat pancreas after STZ treatment.Xiao-Di Liang Yuan-Yuan Guo Ming Sun Ying Ding Ning Wang Li Yuan Wei De 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,23:5
10In vitro and In vivo Evaluation of the Developed PLGA/HAp/Zein Scaffolds for Bone-Cartilage Interface Regeneration显示文摘Objective To investigate the effect of electronspun PLGA/HAp/Zein scaffolds on the repair of cartilage defects. Methods The PLGA/HAp/Zein composite scaffolds were fabricated by electrospinning method. The physiochemical properties and biocompatibility of the scaffolds were separately characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM), transmission electron microscope(TEM), and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(h UC-MSCs) culture and animal experiments. Results The prepared PLGA/HAp/Zein scaffolds showed fibrous structure with homogenous distribution. h UC-MSCs could attach to and grow well on PLGA/HAp/Zein scaffolds, and there was no significant difference between cell proliferation on scaffolds and that without scaffolds(P>0.05). The PLGA/HAp/Zein scaffolds possessed excellent ability to promote in vivo cartilage formation. Moreover, there was a large amount of immature chondrocytes and matrix with cartilage lacuna on PLGA/HAp/Zein scaffolds. 12Antiparkinsonian treatment for depression in Parkinson's disease: Are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors recommended?显示文摘Depression is a frequent comorbid syndrome in Parkinson's disease. It is a difficult symptom to manage, as patients continuously receive antiparkinsonian medication and may also have to be treated for the amelioration of the side-effects of antiparkinsonian therapy. The first-line treatment for depression in Parkinson's disease is the use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors(SSRIs). The clinical efficacy of these medications in patients with Parkinson's disease is questionable. In fact, based on their mechanism of action, which requires at least a functional serotonergic system, it is predicted that SSRIs will have lower efficacy in patients with Parkinson's disease. Here, we consider the mechanism of action of SSRIs in the context of Parkinson's disease by investigating the fall in the levels of serotonergic markers and the inhibitory outcomes of antiparkinsonian treatment on serotonergic nerve activity. 14An Effective On-line Surface Particles Inspection Instrument for Large Aperture Optical Element显示文摘Surface particles growing in large aperture optical element(LAOE) have significant impact on LAOE s stable operation.It is a challenge for the online system to inspect the particles with long working distance, enough precision and high efficiency because of the system constraints. In this paper, an effective and portable inspection instrument is designed based on dark-field imaging principle.A Nikon lens and an industrial high definition(HD) camera are selected to construct the vision system to inspect particles of microns size spreading over hundreds of millimeters. Using two motors and other mechanical structure, the system can realize auto-focus and image rectification functions. The line light sources are installed on both sides of the LAOE in a sealed box while the vision system is portable and working outside the box. An adaptive binarization method is proposed to process the captured dark-field image.The distribution of particles on the LAOE s surface is investigated. Because of the high resolution of the captured image, the SSE2 instructions optimization method is used to reduce the time cost of the algorithm. 15Complement C3a activates osteoclasts by regulating the PI3K/PDK1/SGK3 pathway in patients with multiple myeloma显示文摘Objective:Myeloma bone disease(MBD)is the most common complication of multiple myeloma(MM).Our previous study showed that the serum levels of C3/C4 in MM patients were significantly positively correlated with the severity of bone disease.However,the mechanism of C3 a/C4 a in osteoclasts MM patients remains unclear.Methods:The formation and function of osteoclasts were analyzed after adding C3 a/C4 a in vitro.RNA-seq analysis was used to screen the potential pathways affecting osteoclasts,and the results were verified by Western blot,q RT-PCR,and pathway inhibitors.Results:The osteoclast area per view induced by 1μg/m L(mean±SD:50.828±12.984%)and 10μg/m L(53.663±12.685%)of C3 a was significantly increased compared to the control group(0μg/m L)(34.635±8.916%)(P<0.001 and P<0.001,respectively).The relative m RNA expressions of genes,OSCAR/TRAP/RANKL/cathepsin K,induced by 1μg/m L(median:5.041,3.726,1.638,and 4.752,respectively)and 10μg/m L(median:5.140,3.702,2.250,and 5.172,respectively)of C3 a was significantly increased compared to the control group(median:3.137,2.004,0.573,and 2.257,respectively)(1μg/m L P=0.001,P=0.003,P<0.001,and P=0.008,respectively;10μg/m L:P<0.001,P=0.019,P<0.001,and P=0.002,respectively).The absorption areas of the osteoclast resorption pits per view induced by 1μg/m L(mean±SD:51.464±11.983%)and 10μg/m L(50.219±12.067%)of C3 a was also significantly increased(33.845±8.331%)(P<0.001 and P<0.001,respectively)compared to the control.There was no difference between the C4 a and control groups.RNA-seq analysis showed that C3 a promoted the proliferation of osteoclasts using the phosphoinositide 3-kinase(PI3 K)signaling pathway.The relative expressions of PIK3 CA/phosphoinositide dependent kinase-1(PDK1)/serum and glucocorticoid inducible protein kinases(SGK3)genes and PI3 K/PDK1/p-SGK3 protein in the C3 a group were significantly higher than in the control group.The activation role of C3 a in osteoclasts of MM patients was reduced by the SGK inhibitor(EMD638683).Conclusions:C3 a activated osteoclasts by regulating the PI3 K/PDK1/SGK3 pathways in MM patients,which was reduced using a SGK inhibitor.Overall,our results identified potential therapeutic targets and strategies for MBD patients。Fengjuan Jiang Hui Liu Fengping Peng Zhaoyun Liu Kai Ding Jia Song Lijuan Li Jin Chen Qing Shao Siyang Yan Kim De Veirman Karin Vanderkerken Rong Fu 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,3:3
