1NF-κB signaling in inflammation显示文摘The transcription factor NF-κB regulates multiple aspects of innate and adaptive immune functions and serves as a pivotal mediator of inflammatory responses.NF-κB induces the expression of various pro-inflammatory genes,including those encoding cytokines and chemokines,and also participates in inflammasome regulation.In addition,NF-κB plays a critical role in regulating the survival,activation and differentiation of innate immune cells and inflammatory T cells.Consequently,deregulated NF-κB activation contributes to the pathogenic processes of various inflammatory diseases.In this review,we will discuss the activation and function of NF-κB in association with inflammatory diseases and highlight the development of therapeutic strategies based on NF-κB inhibition.Ting Liu Lingyun Zhang Donghyun Joo Shao-Cong Sun 2017Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2017,2,1:12

3Refractive errors in high myopic eyes after phacovitrectomy for macular hole显示文摘AIM: To examine the refractive prediction error in high myopic eyes after phacovitrectomy.METHODS: This retrospective comparative case series included 91 eyes(18 high myopic eyes and 73 non-high myopic eyes) of 91 patients who underwent successful phacovitrectomy(phacoemulsification, intraocular lens implantation, and pars plana vitrectomy). The high myopic eyes were defined as the eye with more than 26.0mm of axial length. The postoperative prediction error of mean error and mean absolute error were evaluated at4 mo postoperatively. Axial length and keratometry measurement were performed preoperatively and 4mo postoperatively using the IOL Master.RESULTS: The refractive outcome after phacovitrectomy showed significantly greater myopic shift in the high myopic eyes [-1.08 ±0.87 diopters(D)] than that in the non-high myopic eyes(-0.43 ±0.63 D, P =0.004). Axial length and keratometric value in the high myopic eyes were significantly increased(P =0.043, 0.037 respectively),whereas those in the non-high myopic group were not significantly increased(P =0.135, 0.347 respectively). The change of the axial length in the myopic eye(0.46±0.28 mm)was greater than that in the non- high myopic eye(0.11 ± 0.34 mm; P <0.001).CONCLUSION: High myopic eyes showed more myopic shift than non-high myopic eyes after phacovitrectomy.The cause of myopic shift in high myopic eyes seems tobe attributed to actual elongation of the axial length in high myopia.Donghyun Jee Yi-Ryeung Park Kyoung In Jung Eunchul Kim Tae Yoon La 2015International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2015,8,2:9

5Long Short-Term Memory Recurrent Neural Network-Based Acoustic Model Using Connectionist Temporal Classification on a Large-Scale Training Corpus显示文摘A Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM) Recurrent Neural Network(RNN) has driven tremendous improvements on an acoustic model based on Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM). However, these models based on a hybrid method require a forced aligned Hidden Markov Model(HMM) state sequence obtained from the GMM-based acoustic model. Therefore, it requires a long computation time for training both the GMM-based acoustic model and a deep learning-based acoustic model. In order to solve this problem, an acoustic model using CTC algorithm is proposed. CTC algorithm does not require the GMM-based acoustic model because it does not use the forced aligned HMM state sequence. However, previous works on a LSTM RNN-based acoustic model using CTC used a small-scale training corpus. In this paper, the LSTM RNN-based acoustic model using CTC is trained on a large-scale training corpus and its performance is evaluated. The implemented acoustic model has a performance of 6.18% and 15.01% in terms of Word Error Rate(WER) for clean speech and noisy speech, respectively. 6The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and Persons with Disabilities显示文摘In this paper, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030(SFDRR) is evaluated with respect to its ramifications for persons with disabilities. In the SFDRR, persons with disabilities were referenced either directly or indirectly as part of the preamble,the guiding principles, the priorities for action, and the role of stakeholders. In addition, the 2015 World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, during which the SFDRR was adopted, incorporated explicit recommendations toward a disability-accessible and inclusive environment not evident in previous disaster risk reduction conferences. The infusion of disability-related terms and concepts such as accessibility, inclusion, and universal design throughout the SFDRR document was significant. These concepts,which have their origin in disability studies, are used in the SFDRR document to refer to the needs of all in disaster,not only to people with disabilities. These disability-related concepts will now serve the field of disaster risk reduction as important overarching disaster-related principles. 7A Designated Query Protocol for Serverless Mobile RFID Systems with Reader and Tag Privacy显示文摘Recently, a new type of Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) system with mobile readers is introduced. In such a system, it is more desirable for mobile readers to identify tags without a back-end server, and thus it is frequently referred as a serverless mobile RFID system. In this paper, we formalize a serverless mobile RFID system model and propose a new encryption-based system that preserves the privacy of both tags and readers in the model. In addition, we define a new adversary model for the system model and show the security of the proposed system. 8Overcoming the obstacles of current photodynamic therapy in tumors using nanoparticles显示文摘Photodynamic therapy(PDT)has been applied in clinical treatment of tumors for a long time.However,insufficient supply of pivotal factors including photosensitizer(PS),light,and oxygen in tumor tissue dramatically reduces the therapeutic efficacy of PDT.Nanoparticles have received an influx of attention as drug carriers,and recent studies have demonstrated their promising potential to overcome the obstacles of PDT in tumor tissue.Physicochemical optimization for passive targeting,ligand modification for active targeting,and stimuli-responsive release achieved efficient delivery of PS to tumor tissue.Various trials using upconversion NPs,two-photon lasers,X-rays,and bioluminescence have provided clues for efficient methods of light delivery to deep tissue.Attempts have been made to overcome unfavorable tumor microenvironments via artificial oxygen generation,Fenton reaction,and combination with other chemical drugs.In this review,we introduce these creative approaches to addressing the hurdles facing PDT in tumors.In particular,the studies that have been validated in animal experiments are preferred in this review over proof-of-concept studies that were only performed in cells.Donghyun Lee Soonmin Kwon Seok-young Jang Eunyoung Park Yeeun Lee Heebeom Koo 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,2:2
