Mianlüe tectonic zone and Mianlüe suture zone on southern margin of Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt显示文摘The Mianle tectonic zone (Mianle zone), an ancient suture zone in addition to the Shangdan suture in the Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt, marks an important tectonic division geo-logically separating north from south and connecting east with west in China continent. To de-termine present structural geometry and kinematics in the Mianle tectonic zone and to recon-struct the formation and evolution history involving plate subduction and collision in the Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt, through a multidisciplinary study, are significant for exploring the mountain-building orogenesis of the central orogenic system and the entire process of the major Chinese continental amalgamation during the Indosinian. | ZHANG Guowei1, DONG Yunpeng1, LAI Shaocong1, GUO Anlin1, MENG Qingren2, LIU Shaofeng3, CHENG Shunyou1, YAO Anping1, ZHANG Zongqing4, PEI Xianzhi5 & LI Sanzhong6 1. | 2 | Research on the dynamics of the South China Sea opening:Evidence from analogue modeling显示文摘Independent of Indochina extrusion, the South China Sea experienced a process from passive continental rifting to marginal sea drifting. According to the fault patterns in the Beibu Gulf basin and the Pearl River Mouth basin, the continental rifting and early spreading stage from 32 to 26 Ma were controlled by extensional stress field, which shifted clockwise from southeastward to south southeastward. From 24 Ma on, the sea spread in NW-SE direction and ceased spreading at around 15.5 Ma. Integrated geological information with the assumption that the South China Sea developed along a pre-Cenozoic weakness zone, we did analogue experiments on the South China Sea evolu- tion. Experiments revealed that the pre-existing weakness zone goes roughly along the uplift zone between the present Zhu-1 and Zhu-2 depression. The pre-existing weakness zone is composed of three segments trending NNE, roughly EW and NEE, respectively. The early opening of the South China Sea is accompanied with roughly 15° clockwise rotation, while the SE sub-sea basin opened with SE extension. Tinjar fault was the western boundary of the Nansha block (Dangerous Ground), while Lupar fault was the eastern boundary of the Indochina, NW-trending rift belt known as Zengmu basin developed between above two faults due to block divergent of Indochina from Nansha. In the experiment, transtensional flower structures along NW-trending faults are seen, and slight inversion occurs along some NE-dipping faults. The existence of rigid massifs changed the orientations of some faults and rift belt, and also led to deformation concentrate around the massifs. The rifting and drifting of the South China Sea might be caused by slab pull from the proto South China Sea subducting toward Borneo and/or mantle flow caused by India-Asia collision. | SUN Zhen1,2, ZHOU Di1, ZHONG Zhihong3, XIA Bin2, QIU Xuelin1, ZENG Zuoxun4 & JIANG Jianqun5 1. | 3 | Petrogenesis and dating of the Kangding complex,Sichuan Province显示文摘An analysis of major and trace element geochemistry and SHRIMP U-Pb zircon dating of mafic, intermediate, and felsic rocks from the Mianning metamorphic complex of Si- chuan Province was conducted. One of our conclusions is that a majority of the zircons crystal- lized between 721 and 773 Ma in a magmatic regime. The complexes contain early to late Pa- leo-proterozoic relict zircons from ancient continental crust. The oldest age, 2468 Ma, may rep- resent the basement of the Yangtze block. Overgrowth zircon rims and palingenetic zircons have been observed and dated, and are believed to have formed after crystallization, during Paleozoic and Mesozoic metamorphic-anatexis. We also conclude that depletion of Nb, Ta, HREE, in a spider-diagram normalized to primitive mantle and calc-alkaline association, implies that they formed in island-arc or under-plating settings. | CHEN Yuelong 1 , LUO Zhaohua 1 , ZHAO Junxiang, LI Zhihong, ZHANG Hongfei & SONG Biao 3 1. | 4 | Fuzzy interface treatment in Eulerian method显示文摘In this paper, we incorporate fuzzy mathematics approach into the Eulerian method to simulate three dimensional multi-material interfaces. In particular, we propose a fuzzy interface treatment for describing interfaces, designing transport plans, and computing transport quantities. Using a set of three-dimensional inviscid isothermal elastic-plastic hydrodynamic equations, we simulate shaped charge jet in different filled dynamite structures. Strain and stress have been under consideration in simulations. Numerical results demonstrate that the fuzzy interface treatment is correct and efficient for three-dimensional multi-material problems. | NING Jianguo1 & CHEN Longwei1,2 1. | 5 | Carbon isotope composition of the Lower Triassic marine carbonates, Lower Yangtze Region, South China显示文摘Studies on three Lower Triassic sections located on the shallow water platform, the deep water slope and in the deep water basin in the Lower Yangtze Region, South China, show the similar trend of carbon isotope evolution. Biostratigraphic correlations among the Lower Triassic sections on the basis of standard conodont zones indicate that three negative shifts occurred in the Griesbachian, the Smithian and the late Spathian stages respectively, and one distinctly positive shift occurred in the early Spathian stage. Trend of carbon isotope evolution of the Lower Triassic reflects some significant changes in the global carbon cycle. Moreover, δ 13C background values are intensively controlled by palaeogeographic environment. In general, δ 13C values from deep-water slope carbonates are lighter than those from carbonate platform and heavier than those from deep-water basin carbonates. The positive carbon isotope excursion may be induced by a significant amount of organic carbon burial in marine sediments and increase in primary productivity. The large negative carbon isotope excursions during the Early Triassic in Lower Yangtze Region are interpreted to relate to volcano eruptions based on tuffaceous claystone interlayers observed near the Permian-Triassic boundary, the Induan- Olenekian boundary and the Lower Triassic-Middle Triassic boundary. | ZUO Jingxun1,2, TONG Jinnan3, QIU Haiou4 & ZHAO Laishi3 1. | 6 | Development of distributed time-variant gain model for nonlinear hydrological systems显示文摘In this paper, a rainfall-runoff modeling system is developed based on a nonlinear Volterra functional series and a hydrological conceptual modeling approach. Two models, i.e. the time-variant gain model (TVGM) and the distributed time-variant gain model (DTVGM) that are built on the platform of Digital Elevation Model (DEM), Remote Sensing (RS) and Unit Hydro-logical Process were proposed. The developed DTVGM model was applied to two cases in the Heihe River Basin that is located in the arid and semiarid region of northwestern China and the Chaobai River basin located in the semihumid region of northern China. The results indicate that, in addition to the classic dynamic differential approach to describe nonlinear processes in hy-drological systems, it is possible to study such complex processes through the proposed sys-tematic approach to identify prominent hydrological relations. The DTVGM, coupling the advan-tages of both nonlinear and distributed hydrological models, can simulate variant hydrological processes under different environment conditions. Satisfactory results were obtained in fore-casting the time-space variations of hydrological processes and the relationships between land use/cover change and surface runoff variation. | XIA Jun1, 2, WANG Gangsheng1, TAN Ge1, YE Aizhong2 & G. | 7 | Structure and function of aggrecan显示文摘Aggrecan is the major proteoglycan in the articular cartilage. This molecule is important in the proper functioning of articular cartilage because it provides a hydrated gel structure (via its interaction with hyaluronan and link protein) that endows the cartilage with load-bearing properties. It is also crucial in chondroskeletal morphogenesis during development. Aggrecan is a multimodular molecule expressed by chondrocytes. Its core protein is composed of three globular domains (G1, G2, and G3) and a large extended region (CS) between G2 and G3 for glycosaminoglycan chain attachment. G1 comprises the amino terminus of the core protein. This domain has the same structural motif as link protein. Functionally, the G1 domain interacts with hyaluronan acid and link protein, forming stable ternary complexes in the extracellular matrix. G2 is homologous to the tandem repeats of G1 and of link protein and is involved in product processing. G3 makes up the carboxyl terminus of the core protein. It enhances glycosaminoglycan modification and product secretion. Aggrecan plays an important role in mediating chondrocyte-chondrocyte and chondrocyte-matrix interactions through its ability to bind hyaluronan. | CHRIS KIANI, LIWEN CHEN, YAO JIONG WU, ALBERT J YEE, BURTON B YANG, Sunnybrook and Women’s College Health Sciences Centre and Department of Laboratory Medicine and Patobiology, 2 Department of Surgeny, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, Canada | 2002 | Cell Research2002,12,1: | 27
Proso Millet Protein Elevates Plasma Level of High-Density Lipoprotein:A New Food Function of Proso Millet显示文摘We examined the effects of dietary proso-millet protein on plasma levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in different rats from animals reported in our previous studies. The results showed also, in this animal, that the ingestion of the millet protein elevates plasma levels of HDL-cholesterol like our earlier works. Taking into account the anti-atherogenic function of HDL, therefore, the millet protein would be useful as a new food ingredient which has the function that regulates cholesterol | N. NISHIZAWA S. | 9 | Geochemistry and U-Pb zircon geochronology of Late-Mesozoic lavas from Xishan,Beijing显示文摘Zircon U-Pb dating by both SHRIMP and LA-ICP-MS and geochemical study of the Tiaojishan Formation and the Donglintai Formation from Xishan, Beijing, reveal that ages of upper lavas of Tiaojishan Formation and Middle of Donglintai Formation are 137.1±4.5 Ma(2σ ) and 130-134 Ma, respectively. The fomer is slightly older than the latter and the age difference between these two formations is less than 5 Ma. These lines of evidence prove that the two volcanoes erupted within a short time. The age of the Tiaojishan Formation from Xishan, Beijing is distinctively different from that of the Chende Basin. This indicated that the ages of Tiaojishan lavas varied in different regions. The Tiaojishan Formation consists of typical adakite (SiO2=56%, Na2O = 3.99-6.17, Na2O/K2O = 2.2-3.1, Sr = 680-1074×10?6, Y = 13.2-16.3×10?6, Yb = 1.13-1.52×10?6, Sr/Y = 43-66), high-Mg adakite and high-Mg andesite (Mg# = 54-55). Features of continental crust of adakite from the Tiao-jishan Formation and its syngeneric middle silicic vocanic rocks, such as typical Nd-Ta negative ab-normality and Pb possive abnormality, indicate that these lavas are originated from partial melts of continental crust. These results suggest that the adakite from the Tiaojishan Formation of Xishan, Beijing derived from thickened eclogitic lower crust and lithosphere beneath the North China craton at mesozoic that was foundered into the aesthenosphere, and subsequenctly partially melted and in-teracted with mantle olivine during melts upward migration. The age of lavas from the Tiaojishan Formation restrained the foundation which should last at least until 137 Ma. Lavas of the Donglintai Formation are rhyolith and andesite with normal Mg# and thus they did not interact with the mantle. These lavas represent remobilized melts of lower crust material caused by mantle aesthenosphere upwelling migration induced by foundation. | YUAN Honglin1, LIU Xiaoming1, LIU Yongsheng2, GAO Shan1,2 & LING Wenli2 1. | 12 | Indian Ocean-MORB-type isotopic signature of Yushigou ophiolite in North Qilian Mountains and its implications显示文摘In order to explore the disputed issue concerning the tectonic affinity of the ancient ocean mantle of North Qilian Mountains (NQM), geochemical and Sr, Nd, Pb isotopic compositions of pillow basalts of the Yushigou Ophiolite (YSGO) suite from NQM have been analyzed systematically. The pillow basalts exhibit tholeiitic characteristics, with flat chondrite-normalized REE patterns ((La/Yb)N = 0.98―1.27). They display no Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf negative anomalies, and show MORB features in 2Nb-Zr/4-Y and Ti/100-Zr-Y×3 tectonic discrimination diagrams. These results indicate that the Yushigou ophiolite is most likely to be formed in a mid-ocean ridge or mature back-arc basin. Their isotopic data show a relatively broad and enriched 87Sr/86Sr (0.70509 ― 0.70700), restricted 143Nd/144Nd (0.512955―0.512978). Pb isotopes are in the range of 206Pb/204Pb (18.054―20.562), 207Pb/204Pb (15.537―15.743) and 208Pb/204Pb (38.068―38.530). These isotopic data imply that the basalts originated from the depleted mantle (DMM), with the involvement of enriched mantle compo-nents (mainly EMII). Geochemical comparisons between the basalts in YSGO and the MORB-type basalts of ophiolite suites occurring in the known ancient Tethyan tectonic domain indicate that the ancient oceanic mantle represented by YSGO suite forming in early Paleozoic in the North Qilian Moutains is very similar to the Tethyan mantle in both trace elements and isotopic compositions. The North Qilian Mountains should be a part of the Tethyan tectonic domain in early Paleozoic. This further implies that the Tethyan tectonic domain can be deduced to early Paleozoic in the study area, which will be helpful to discussing the tectonic affinity and evolution of the North Qilian Mountains. | HOU Qingye1,2, ZHAO Zhidan1,2, ZHANG Hongfei3, ZHANG Benren3 & CHEN Yuelong2 1. | 14 | Transport network and flow mechanism of shallow ore-bearing magma in Tongling ore cluster area显示文摘Abundant studies revealed that shallow intrusions of the Yanshanian epoch resulted in the mass mineralization of the Tongling region. Various evidences showed there existed a concealed magma chamber at ?10 km depth in the middle part of this region during Yanshanian epoch, from which the ore-forming magma was generated and then transported to the superficial layer. Yet the transport network and flow mechanism of the shallow ore-bearing magma, the key problem associ- ated with ore-forming process, was relatively little focused on. Integrate analysis of structural me- chanics, statistical fractal and geological facts suggested that NE trending high-angle fold-related thrust faults and the tessellated basement ones served as the main pathways for the shallow magma’s transporting, moreover, the saddle void spaces among adjacent strata in the folds upon this fault system provided the place for magma’s emplacement. So the folds in the upper part and faults in the lower part of the upper crust constituted the fluid’s transport and emplacement network. During the deformation of geologic body with multi-layer structure, the layers in the upper part tended to fold when received the jacking stress from the lower part, while the lower one inclined to fault undergoing loads of the upper part. And the producing probability of this structure assemblage was highly in- creased in the condition, such as in the Tongling area, that the mechanic rigidity of the lower layers was stronger than that of the upper ones. For the pre-existence of fluid-conducting network, the top magma with high volatile in the magma chamber transported rapidly to the superficial layer in dyking pattern, located in the void spaces of folds, filled and reconstructed them. The sudden drop of pres- sure caused the fluid unmixing from the magma and mass ore-forming elements concentration. Pulse activity of the dyking may be the principal reason why magmatic bodies in the Tongling area were spatially-temporally concomitant and limited flux in chemical compositions. | DENG Jun1,2, WANG Qingfei1,2 , HUANG Dinghua3 , WAN Li4, YANG Liqiang1,2 & GAO Bangfei1,2 1. | 16 | Late Caledonian Ductile Thrusting Deformation in the Central East Kunlun Belt, Qinghai, China and Its Significance: Evidence from Geochronology显示文摘A high-angle ductile thrusting deformation with top-to-the-north movement penetratively developed in the Proterozoic-Early Paleozoic metamorphic rocks along the Central East Kunlun beR. The deformed rocks suffered epidote-amphibolite facies metamorphism. On the basis of our previous study, we present more data in this paper to further support that the ductile thrust deformation occurred in the later Caledonian and more detailed information about the deformation.A zircon U-Pb concordant age of 446±2.2 Ma of a deformed granodiorite in the ductile thrust zone was obtained and can be interpreted as the lower limit of the deformation. A syntectonically crystallized and also strongly deformed hornblende Ar/Ar dating gives an Ar/Ar plateau age of 426.5±3.8 Ma, which represents the deformation age. A strongly orientated muscovite gives an Ar/Ar plateau age of 408±1.6Ma, representing the cooling age after the peak temperature, constraining the upper limit of the ductile thrust deformation. This ductile thrust deformation can be interpreted as the result of the closing of the Central East Kunlun archipelago ocean. To the north, At/At plateau ages of 382.9±0.2 Ma and 386.8±0.8 Ma of muscovite in the deformed Xiaomiao Group represent the uplift cooling ages of deeper rocks after the thrusting movement. The original thrusting foliation has a low angle. A rotation model was put forward to explain the development of the foliation from the original low-angle to present high-angle dipping. | WANG Guocan, CHEN Nengsong, ZHU Yunhai and ZHANG Kexin Faculty of Earth Sciences, China University of Geosciences, Wuhan, Hubei 430074 E-mail: wgcan@cug.edu.cn Ren Xifei, Liu Ruixun and Xie Guanglian | 2003 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2003,77,3: | 18

Shear Alteration, Mass Transfer and Gold Mineralization: An Example from Jiaodong Ore Deposit Concentrating Area, Shandong, China显示文摘Taking the gold ore deposit concentrating area of Jiaodong area in Shandong, China for an example, based on geological analysis, and applying Gresens’ equation, Grant’s isocon diagram and O’hara microelement calculation method, a thorough study on shear alteration, mass transfer and gold mineralization was carried out. The authors also made mathematic simulation and geochemical analysis. The work reveals temporal spatial changing regularities of temperature field and velocity field of fluids, and also reveals fluid transport chemical reaction coupling metallogenic dynamics of the Jiaojia gold ore concentrating area. During shear alteration process of the Jiaodong gold ore concentrating area, all kinds of components transferred with different amounts, fluid rock ratio was rather high and volume strain was of dilation type. Fast flow of ore forming fluid favors the occurrence of mixed fluid. Shear fractured zones are places where there was strong transportation reaction coupling mineralization. Ore bodies were located in dilation space of shear structure where there was the greatest fluid flux. After the emplacement of the rock body, a convex heat field was formed around the rock body. It is one of the main metallogenic forces. The major reason for mineralization is the mobilization, migration and enrichment of ore forming elements induced by shear compressive extensional tectonism. Inclusion gold dominant low grade ores were formed in the early ore forming stage, while high grade ores, which contained fissure gold and polymetallic veinlets, were formed in late ore forming stage. | Deng Jun Zhai Yusheng Wang Jianping Faculty of Earth Sciences and Mineral Resources, China University of Geosciences, Beijing 100083, China Yang Liqiang Institute of Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101, China Fang Yun Faculty of | 2000 | Journal of Earth Science2000,19,3: | 18
Meta-analysis of the relationship between Epstein-Barr virus infection and clinicopathological features of patients with gastric carcinoma显示文摘Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection has been causally associated with occurrence of many malignant neoplasms. EBV-encoded small RNAs (EBERs) have been detected from about 10% of gastric carcinoma tissue cells, suggesting that EBV infection is associated with the development of gastric carcinoma. The present study pooled the data from the papers concerning EBV-related gastric cancers and performed a meta-analysis of 22 research papers. Among these papers, a total of 5475 cases with gastric cancer were enrolled, of whom 411 cases were found EBV-positive, with the EBV-positive rate being 7.5%. Among the EBV-positive gastric cancer cases, the detection rate was 11.1% in males and 3.0% in females. Compared with EBV-negative gastric cancer, EBV-positive gastric cancer had less lymph node metastasis. Based on the histological typing, of the EBV-positive gastric cancers, the diffuse type was 8.1%, and intestinal type was 8.0%. The examined specimen types included stored paraffin blocks and fresh surgically removed specimens, their EBV positive rates were 7.9% and 6.5% respectively. In terms of geographical distribution, the detection rate of EBV-positive gastric cancer was 9.4% in America, 6.1% in Asia and 9.1% in Europe. Meta-analysis showed that EBV infection occurred only in gastric cancer tissue cells and was significantly associated with the patients’ gender, lymph node metastases, and the location where tumor tissue generated and geographical distribution (P<0.05), but was not significantly associated with the patients’ histological types of tumor and the types of specimens (P>0.05). These results suggested that EBV-positive gastric cancer has distinct clinicopathological features. | LI ShuYing1,2, DU HaiJun3, WANG Zhan3, ZHOU Ling3, ZHAO XiaoYu1 & ZENG Yi3 1 College of Life Sciences, Hebei University, Baoding 071002, China 2 Department of Pathogenic Biology, Faculty of Biological Science, North China Coal Medical College, Tangshan 063000, China 3 National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Chinese CDC), State Key Laboratory for Infectious Disease Prevention and Control (SKLID), Beijing 100052, China | 2010 | Science China(Life Sciences)2010,53,4: | 17
Sedimentary geochemistry of the Cambrian-Ordovician cherts: Implication on archipelagic ocean of North Qilian orogenic belt显示文摘The Caledonian North Qilian orogenic belt lies between the North China plate and the Qaidam mi-croplates, and resulted from the collision among the Qaidam microplate, mid-Qilian block and the North China plate. The orogen initiated from the rifting of the Late Proterozoic Rodinia, and then it experi-enced stages of Cambrian rift basin and Ordovician archipelagic oceanic basin, and foreland basin during Silurian to Early-Middle Devonian. The average ratios of Al/(Al+Fe+Mn), Al/(Al+Fe), δ Ce, Lan/Ybn and Lan/Cen from cherts of Cambrian Heicigou Formation are 0.797, 0.627, 1.114, 0.994 and 1.034 re-spectively. In the NAS standardized REE distribution pattern, the cherts from Xiangqianshan is slightly HREE enriched, and the cherts from Ganluci and Shiqingdong are plane. All of these features indicated that Cambrian cherts of the Heicigou Formation originated from a continental margin rift background. On the contrary, the average ratios of Al/(Al+Fe+Mn), Al/(Al+Fe), δ Ce, Lan/Ybn, Lan/Cen of the Ordovician chert from Dakecha, Cuijiadun, Shihuigou, Laohushan, Heicigou, Maomaoshan, Bianmagou, Da-chadaban, Baiquanmen, Jiugequan and Angzanggou, are respectively 0.72, 0.58, 0.99, 1.09 and 0.96 respectively. Their NAS standardized REE distribution patterns of most Ordovician cherts are plane mode or slightly HREE enriched. The REE distribution pattern of few samples of cherts are slightly LREE enriched. Characteristics of sedimentary geochemistry and tectonic evolution demonstrated that the Cambrian-Ordovician cherts, associated with rift, oceanic, island arc and back-arc volcanic rocks, was not formed in a typical abyssal oceanic basin or mid-oceanic ridge. On the contrary, they formed in a deepwater basin of continental margin or a archipelagic ocean tectonic setting. Several Early Paleo-zoic ophiolite belts in North Qilian and adjacent periphery Qaidam microplate imply that an archipelagic ocean during Ordovician existed in the east of Pro-Tethys. | DU YuanSheng1,2, ZHU Jie1, GU SongZhu1, 2, XU YaJun1 & YANG JiangHai1 1 Faculty of Earth Sciences, China University of Geosciences, Wuhan 430074, China 2 Key Laboratory of Biogeology and Environment Geology of Education Ministry, Wuhan 430074, China | 2007 | Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,11: | 17
