| 1 | Geodynamic significance of the A-type granites in the Sawuer region in west Junggar, Xinjiang: Rock geochemistry and SHRIMP zircon age evidence显示文摘Sawuer region is located in west Junggar, Jimunai County of Altay district and Hefeng County of Tacheng district, Xinjiang. The region is along the north margin of Kazakstan-Junggar plate. The intrusions (mainly acid) are widespread. Qiaqihai and Kuoyitasi intrusions are important in the region, with the characteristics of A-type granite. Further investigations indicate that they belong to A2-type granite that formed in extension tectonic setting of post collision. The REE chon-drite-normalized patterns of the intrusions show LREE enrichment and the δ Eu values are lower. The Nd, Sr, Pb isotope compositions of the intrusions indicate a mantle source, while the low δ 18O values resulted from the isotope exchange between intrusion and meteoric water. According to SHRIMP U-Pb age analysis results, the crystallization age of Qiaqihai intrusion is 290.7 ± 9.3 Ma (1σ ), and that of Kuoyitasi intrusion is 297.9 ± 4.6 Ma (1σ ), corresponding to the beginning of early Permian. The A2-type granites indicate that the region was in the extension period of the post-collisional stage at the beginning of early Permian in the Sawuer region. The A-type granites in the Sawuer region in west Junggar discovered from this work is analogous to the A-type granites found in east Junggar of the Ulungur alkali granites belt. The confirmation of post-collisional A-type granites of early Permian in the Sawuer region provides new evidence for the regional vertical continental crust growth in early Per-mian. | 2 | Environmental records of lacustrine sediments in different time scales:Sediment grain size as an example显示文摘Sediment grain size is a conventional proxy of climatic changes. Larger sediment grain size is often interpreted to indicate dry climate during lower lake level while smaller sedi- ment grain size implies wet climate during higher lake level. Through detailed study on sediment grain sizes in Lake Erhai and Lake Chenghai, this paper reveals the different indication signifi- cances of sediment grain sizes in different time scales, different resolution investigations. For long time-scale and low resolution (102a or 103a) studies, larger sediment grain size indicates lower lake level, smaller lake area and drier climate while smaller sediment grain size indicates higher lake level, larger lake area and wetter climate. For short time-scale and high resolution (a or 10a) studies, larger sediment grain size reflects more rainfall and wetter climate while smaller sediment grain size reflects less rainfall and drier climate. Environmental information revealed by lacustrine sediment records is often different in different time scales because of the variance of sedimentation resolution, sampling resolution and dating precision. Therefore, paleoclimate im- plications of environmental proxies in long time-scale and low resolution investigations could not be mechanically applied to short time-scale and high resolution studies. | 3 | The influence of moderate ENSO on summer rainfall in eastern China and its comparison with strong ENSO显示文摘The 6 major ENSO events since 1979 are classified into the strong and moderate ENSO based on in-tensity. The composite analysis is performed to reveal the influence of ENSO on East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) and summer rainfall in eastern China. It is shown that the influence is changed with the seasonal cycle in summer, with a weaker influence in June and a stronger influence in August, in-dicating a long lagged effect of ENSO on EASM. Besides, the circulation and rainfall anomalies caused by the strong ENSO are also stronger with an earlier starting time, while the influence of the moderate ENSO is evident in August. The composite summer rainfall in eastern China for the moderate ENSO exhibits a northern rainfall pattern, which is totally different from the classical ENSO-type rainfall pat-tern. Based on the composite analysis, two moderate ENSO years with a similar intensity (i.e., 1995 and 2003) are compared. The result shows that, the response of EASM to the moderate ENSO during June and July is, to a certain degree, modulated by the circulation systems in mid-high latitudes of Eurasia and in the Southern Hemisphere, thereby inducing a different rainfall distribution in eastern China. In comparison with the strong ENSO in 1983, it is further revealed that, the strong ENSO plays a dominant role in summer rainfall anomalies in eastern China as well as in controlling the influence of the other factors on EASM. | 4 | Orbit determination for geostationary satellites with the combination of transfer ranging and pseudorange data显示文摘Geostationary satellites(GEOs) play a significant role in the regional satellite navigation system.Simulation experiments show that the clock corrections could be mitigated through a single strategy or double differencing strategies for a navigation constellation,but for the mode of individual GEO orbit determination,high precision orbit and clock correction could not be obtained in the orbit determination based on the pseudorange data.A new GEO combined precise orbit determination(POD) strategy is studied in this paper,which combines pseudorange data and C-band transfer ranging data.This strategy overcomes the deficiency of C-band transfer ranging caused by limited stations and tracking time available.With the combination of transfer ranging and pseudorange data,clock corrections between the GEO and the stations can be estimated simultaneously along with orbital parameters,maintaining self-consistency between the satellite ephemeris and clock correction parameters.The error covariance analysis is conducted to illuminate the contributions from the transfer ranging data and the psudoranging data.Using data collected for a Chinese GEO satellite with 3 C-band transfer ranging stations and 4 L-band pseudorange tracking stations,POD experiments indicate that a meter-level accuracy is achievable.The root-mean-square(RMS) of the post-fit C-band ranging data is about 0.203 m,and the RMS of the post-fit pseudorange is 0.408 m.Radial component errors of the POD experiments are independently evaluated with the satellite laser ranging(SLR) data from a station in Beijing,with the residual RMS of 0.076 m.The SLR evaluation also suggests that for 2-h orbital predication,the predicted radial error is about 0.404 m,and the clock correction error is about 1.38 ns.Even for the combination of one C-band transfer ranging station and 4 pseudorange stations,POD is able to achieve a reasonable accuracy with the radial error of 0.280 m and the 2-h predicted radial error of 0.888 m.Clock synchronization between the GEO and tracking stations is achieved with an estimated accuracy of about 1.55 ns,meeting the navigation service requirements. | GUO Rui1,2,3,4,HU XiaoGong2,4,LIU Li1,WU XiaoLi1,HUANG Yong2,4 & HE Feng1 1 Beijing Global Information Application and Development Center,Beijing 100094,China 2 Shanghai Astronomical Observatory,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Shanghai 200030,China 3 Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100049,China 4 Space Navigation and Positioning Technology,Laboratory of Shanghai Municipal,Shanghai 200030,China | 2010 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,9: | 13 |

| 6 | Comparative analysis of astaxanthin and its esters in the mutant E1 of Haematococcus pluvialis and other green algae by HPLC with a C30 column显示文摘A gradient reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method using a C30 col-umn was developed for the simultaneous determination of astaxanthin, astaxanthin monoesters and astaxanthin diesters in the green algae Chlorococcum sp., Chlorella zofingiensis, Haematococcus plu-vialis and the mutant E1, which was obtained from the mutagenesis of H. pluvialis by exposure to UV-irradiation and ethyl methanesulphonate (EMS) with subsequent screening using nicotine. The re-sults showed that the contents of total astaxanthins including free astaxanthin and astaxanthin esters ranged from 1.4 to 30.9 mg/g dry biomass in these green algae. The lower total astaxanthin levels (< 2 mg/g dry biomass) were detected in the green algae Chlorococcum sp. and C. zofingiensis. The higher total astaxanthin levels (>16 mg/g dry biomass) were found in the green alga H. pluvialis and its mutant E1. It is notable that the mutant E1 is found to have considerably higher amounts of total astaxanthin (30.9 mg/g) as compared to the wild strain of H. pluvialis (16.1 mg/g). This indicates that UV-irradiation and EMS compound mutagenesis with subsequent screening using nicotine is an effective method for breeding of a high-producing astaxanthin strain of H. pluvialis. In addition, the green alga C. zofingien-sis had a remarkably higher percentage of astaxanthin diesters (76.3% of total astaxanthins) and a re-markably lower percentage of astaxanthin monoesters (18.0% of total astaxanthins) in comparison with H. pluvialis (35.5% for diesters and 60.9% for monoesters), the mutant E1 (49.1% and 48.1%) and Chlorococcum sp. | 7 | Environmental characteristics of Mid-Holocene recorded by lacustrine sediments from Lake Daihai, north environment sensitive zone, China显示文摘Climate proxies, such as total organic carbon and nitrogen (TOC, TN), carbonate content (CaCO3), grain-size and pollen of the sediment core retrieved from enclosed Lake Daihai which lies in the north China environment sensitive zone are analyzed to reconstruct the environment evolution of the area based on high-resolution radiocarbon chronology. The results reveal that the TOC and TN contents of the sediments correlate well with pollen percentage and pollen flux variations during the Holocene, and both reach their peak values simultaneously at 6.7―3.5 ka BP (calendar age, 7.6―3.6 ka BP). Since 6.7 ka BP, both the CaCO3 and organic matter contents of the core have simultaneous variations, and their high values also occur during 6.7―3.5 ka BP. While during 9.0―6.7 ka BP (calendar age, 10―7.6 ka BP) relatively lower level of organic matter content and pollen flux corre- spond to the higher level of carbonate content. The above relations suggest that during 6.7―3.5 ka BP, the productivity and effective precipitation were greatly improved in the lake drainage area, and this would probably strengthen the hydrodynamic conditions, enhancing organic matter, pollen and carbonate inputs from terrestrial sources. Such processes would account for the enrichment of both organic matter and carbonate in the sediments. While during 9.0―6.7 ka BP, the lower level of or- ganic matter, pollen flux but high carbonate content show depressed productivity and declined vege- tation coverage. The higher carbonate content at this stage would have probably resulted from the higher evaporation ratio of the lake water under relatively drier climate conditions. Therefore, it is in- ferred that during 6.7―3.5 ka BP, the climate was more humid with abundant rainfalls and vegetation was more flourishing in the Lake Daihai area. This can be seen as Holocene Climate Optimum (HCO). | 9 | Surface Defects of Cold-Rolled Ti-IF Steel Sheets due to Non-Metallic Inclusions显示文摘Surface defects of the cold-rolled sheets of Ti-IF steel were studied and analyzed. After analyzing surface defects of cold-rolled sheets, such as shelling defects, holes and sliver defects by SEM/EDS, a variety of inclusions were found. In addition, the distribution of macro-inclusions in slabs was analyzed by MIDAS method. The results show the macroscopic inclusion bands of head slabs and normal slabs are in 1/8 slab thickness regions of both inner arc side and outer arc side. The formation process of the defects in the cold-rolled sheets was simulated with an experimental cold-rolling machine for comparison. | 10 | Comprehensive benefit of flood resources utilization through dynamic successive fuzzy evaluation model: A case study显示文摘Taking the flood resources utilization in Baicheng, Jilin during 2002–2007 as the research background, and based on the entropy weight and multi-level & multi-objective fuzzy optimization theory, this research established a multi-level & semi-constructive index system and dynamic successive evaluation model for comprehensive benefit evaluation of regional flood resources utilization. With the year 2002 as the base year, the analyzing results showed that there existed a close positive correlation between flood utilization volume and its benefits, comprehensive evaluation value and its comparison increment. Within the six successive evaluation years, the comprehensive benefit of 2003 was the best, in which the benefit evaluation increment reached 82.8% whereas the year of 2004 was the worst, in which the increment was only 18.2%. Thus the sustainability and correctness of the evaluation were verified by six years successive evaluation and increment comparison. The analyzing results showed that the economic benefits, ecological benefits and social benefits of flood utilization were remarkable, and that the comprehensive benefit could be improved by increasing flood utilization capacity, which would promote the regional sustainable development as well. | 11 | Function of the iron-binding chelator produced by Coriolus versicolor in lignin biodegradation显示文摘An ultrafiltered low-molecular-weight preparation of chelating compounds was isolated from a wood-containing culture of the white-rot basidiomycete Coriolus versicolor. This preparation could chelate Fe3+ and reduce Fe3+ to Fe2+, demonstrating that the substance may serve as a ferric chelator, oxygen-reducing agent, and redox-cycling molecule, which would include functioning as the electron transport carrier in Fenton reaction. Lignin was treated with the iron-binding chelator and the changes in structure were investigated by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, difference spectrum caused by ionization under alkaline conditions and nitrobenzene oxidation. The results indicated that the iron-binding chelator could destroy the β-O-4 bonds in etherified lignin units and insert phenolic hydroxyl groups. The low-molecular-weight chelator secreted by C. versicolor resulted in new phenolic substructures in the lignin polymer, making it susceptible to attack by laccase or manganese peroxidase. | 12 | Analysis of the essential DNA region for OsEBP-89 promoter in response to methyl jasmonic acid显示文摘In rice, the characterization of OsEBP-89 is inducible by various stress- or hormone-stimuli, including ethylene, abscisic acid (ABA), jasmonate acid (JA), drought and cold. Here, we report the investigation of essential DNA region within OsEBP-89 promoter for methyl jasmonic acid (MeJA) induction. PLACE analysis indicates that this promoter sequence contains multiple potential elements in response to various stimuli. First, we fused this promoter with GUS gene and analyzed its expression under MeJA treatment through Agrobacterium infiltration mediating transient expression in tobacco leaves. Our results revealed that this chimeric gene could be inducible by MeJA in tobacco leaves. To further de- termine the crucial sequences responsible for MeJA induction, we generated a series of deletion pro- moters which were fused with GUS reporter gene respectively. The results of transient expression of GUS gene driven by these mutant promoters show that the essential region for MeJA induction is po- sitioned in the region between -1200 and -800 in OsEBP-89 promoter containing a G-box (?1127), which is distinct from the essential region containing ERE (?562) for ACC induction. | 14 | Clinical characteristics of critical patients with pandemic influenza A(H1N1) virus infection in Chengdu,China显示文摘Objective:The critical illness of pandemic influenza A(H1N1) virus infection may be associated with relatively poor outcomes.The objective of this study is to describe clinical features and factors associated with the deaths of critical patients.Methods:Medical records of 26 critical patients with H1N1 infection admitted from Sept.1 to Dec.31,2009,were retrospectively reviewed.Diagnosis was established by real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) assay.Results:The mean age of the patients was(40.4±18.4) years and 73.1% of them were male.Clinical manifestations included fever,cough,and sputum production.The laboratory findings included leukocytosis,lymphopenia,C-reaction protein,and lactic dehydrogenase elevation.In this series,17 subjects survived and 9 died.The parameters between the deaths and survivors were compared,which included acute physiology and chronic health evaluation II(APACHE II) scores(23.8±10.1 vs.14.3±6.6,P<0.05),sequential organ failure assessment(SOFA) scores(13.3±3.0 vs.6.6±3.3,P<0.05),and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome(MODS) scores(7.4±2.5 vs.3.3±1.7,P<0.05).The cases of deaths had higher incidences of cardiovascular failure(100% vs.41.2%,P<0.05),renal failure(55.6% vs.11.7%,P<0.05),encephalopathy(44.4% vs.5.9%,P<0.05),hepatic failure(33.3% vs.5.9%,P<0.05),and septic shock(33.3% vs.17.6%,P<0.05).Conclusions:The critical patients with H1N1 infection have high APACHE II,SOFA,and MODS scores,which may be associated with an increased risk of death and complex clinical courses. | Li-hui DENG1,2,Yi-lan ZENG3,Ping FENG1,Ya-ling LIU3,Li-chun WANG1,2,Yun BAI3,Hong TANG1,2(1Center of Infectious Diseases,West China Hospital of Sichuan University,Chengdu 610041,China)(2Division of Infectious Diseases,State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy,Sichuan University,Chengdu 610041,China)(3Chengdu Infectious Disease Hospital,Chengdu 610041,China) | 2012 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2012,13,1: | 4 |

This zy- mogen was a heterodimer, and composed of two subunits with the relative molecular mass ranging from 66.2 kD to 97.4 kD determined by SDS-PAGE. | 16 | Single crystal β-Ga_2O_3: Cr grown by floating zone technique and its optical properties显示文摘β-Ga2O3: Cr single crystals were grown by floating zone technique. Absorption spectra and fluorescence spectra were measured at room temperature. The values of field splitting parameter Dq and Racah parameter B were obtained by the peak values of absorption spectra. The value 10Dq/B=23.14 manifests that in β-Ga2O3 crystals Cr3+ ions are influenced by low energy crystal field. After high temperature annealing in air, the Cr3+ intrinsic emission was enhanced and the green lumines-cence disappeared. The strong and broad 691 nm emission was obtained at 420 nm excitation due to the electron transition occurred from 4T2 to 4A2. | 17 | Experimental research into the two-proton emissions from ^(17,18) Ne,^(28) P and ^(28,29)S显示文摘Two-proton emissions from the excited states of 17,18Ne, 28P and 28,29S were investigated experimentally by the radioactive beams bombarding on the 197Au target via the Coulomb excitation. The complete-kinematics measurements were actualized by the stacks of silicon-strip detectors and CsI+PIN array detectors. The invariant mass of final systems as well as the relative momentum, opening angle, and relative energy of the two emitted protons was reconstructed under the framework of relativ istic kinematics. Visible proton-proton correlations were observed in these systems. The mechanisms of two-proton emission were analyzed in a simple schematic model, in which the extreme decay modes like He cluster emission, three-body 2 phase-space decay, and two-body sequential decay were taken into account. | 18 | Soil erosion in China based on the 2000 national remote sensing survey显示文摘This paper discussed the spatial distribution of soil erosion in China at the end of the 20th century based on the second national soil erosion survey. The result indicated soil erosion is still the prime environmental problem in China. Soil erosion mainly occurs in the western regions of China, and the slight erosion type, ion the whole, exerts the greatest impact on soil erosion pattern. The distribution of water erosion shows the impact of landforms: slight water erosion mainly in mountainous and hilly areas, and half of violent water erosion on the loess landforms. Farmland, forestland and grassland are the major land use types of slight hydraulic erosion distribution, while the serious hydraulic erosion and slight wind erosion mainly occur on grassland. Thus, the conservation of the grassland is the key to either hydraulic and wind erosion control. The huangmian soil (a major type of cultivated soil developed from loess mother material) is the one facing the most serious threat from soil erosion in Chinas soil resources. | 19 | Heavy ion reactions around the Coulomb barrier显示文摘The angular distributions of fission fragments for the 32S+184W reaction near Coulomb barrier energies are measured. The ex perimental fission excitation function is obtained. The measured fission cross sections are decomposed into fusion-fission, quasi-fission and fast fission contributions by the dinuclear system (DNS) model. The hindrance to completing fusion both at small and large collision energies is explained. The fusion excitation functions of 32S+90,96Zr in an energy range from above to below the Coulomb barrier are measured and analyzed within a semi-classical model. The obvious effect of positive Q-value multi-neutron transfers on the sub-barrier fusion enhancement is observed in the 32S+96Zr system. In addition, the excitation functions of quasi-elastic scattering at a backward angle have been measured with high precision for the systems of 16O+208Pb, 196Pt, 184W, and 154,152Sm at energies well below the Coulomb barrier. Considering the deformed coupling effects, the extracted diffuseness parameters are close to the values extracted from the systematic analysis of elastic and inelastic scattering data. The elastic scattering angular distribution of 17F+12C at 60 MeV is measured and calculated by using the continuum-discretized coupled-channels (CDCC) approach. It is found that the diffuseness parameter of the real part of core-target potential has to be increased by 20% to reproduce the experimental result, which corresponds to an increment of potential depth at the surface re gion.
