1A study of hydrate plug formation in a subsea natural gas pipeline using a novel high-pressure flow loop显示文摘The natural gas pipeline from Platform QK18-1 in the southwest of Bohai Bay to the onshore processing facility is a subsea wet gas pipeline exposed to high pressure and low temperature for a long distance. Blockages in the pipeline occur occasionally. To maintain the natural gas flow in the pipeline, we proposed a method for analyzing blockages and ascribed them to the hydrate formation and agglomeration. A new high-pressure flow loop was developed to investigate hydrate plug formation and hydrate particle size, using a mixture of diesel oil, water, and natural gas as experimental fluids. The influences of pressure and initial flow rate were also studied. Experimental results indicated that when the flow rate was below 850 kg/h, gas hydrates would form and then plug the pipeline, even at a low water content (10%) of a water/oil emulsion. 2Nicotinamide overload may play a role in the development of type 2 diabetes显示文摘AIM: To investigate whether nicotinamide overload plays a role in type 2 diabetes. METHODS: Nicotinamide metabolic patterns of 14diabetic and 14 non-diabetic subjects were compared using HPLC. Cumulative effects of nicotinamide and N1-methylnicotinamide on glucose metabolism, plasma H2O2 levels and tissue nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) contents of adult Sprague-Dawley rats were observed. The role of human sweat glands and rat skin in nicotinamide metabolism was investigated using sauna and burn injury, respectively. RESULTS: Diabetic subjects had significantly higher plasma N 1-methylnicotinamide levels 5 h after a 100-mg nicotinamide load than the non-diabetic subjects (0.89 ± 0.13 μmol/L vs 0.6 ± 0.13 μmol/L, P < 0.001). Cumulative doses of nicotinamide (2 g/kg) significantly increased rat plasma N 1-methy lnico-tinamide concentrations associated with severe insulin resistance, which was mimicked by N1-methy-lnicotinamide. Moreover, cumulative exposure to N1-methylnicotinamide (2 g/kg) markedly reduced rat muscle and liver NAD contents and erythrocyte NAD/NADH ratio, and increased plasma H2O2 levels. Decrease in NAD/NADH ratio and increase in H2O2 generation were also observed in human erythrocytes after exposure to N1-methylnicotinamide in vitro. Sweating eliminated excessive nicotinamide (5.3-fold increase in sweat nicotinamide concentration 1 h after a 100-mg nicotinamide load). Skin damage or aldehyde oxidase inhibition with tamoxifen or olanzapine, both being notorious for impairing glucose tolerance, delayed N1-methylnicotinamide clearance. 3A study of morphing aircraft on morphing rules along trajectory显示文摘Morphing aircraft can meet requirements of multi-mission during the whole flight due to changing the aerodynamic shape,so it is necessary to study itsmorphing rules along the trajectory.However,trajectory planning considering morphing variables requires a huge number of expensive CFD computations due to the morphing in view of aerodynamic performance.Under the given missions and trajectory,to alleviate computational cost and improve trajectory-planning efficiency formorphing aircraft,an offline optimizationmethod is proposed based onMulti-Fidelity Kriging(MFK)modeling.The angle of attack,Mach number,sweep angle and axial position of the morphing wing are defined as variables for generating training data for building the MFK models,in which many inviscid aerodynamic solutions are used as low-fidelity data,while the less high-fidelity data are obtained by solving viscous flow.Then the built MFK models of the lift,drag and pressure centre at the different angles of attack andMach numbers are used to predict the aerodynamic performance of the morphing aircraft,which keeps the optimal sweep angle and axial position of the wing during trajectory planning.Hence,themorphing rules can be correspondingly acquired along the trajectory,aswell as keep the aircraftwith the best aerodynamic performance during thewhole task.The trajectory planning of amorphing aircraft was performed with the optimal aerodynamic performance based on the MFK models,built by only using 240 low-fidelity data and 110 high-fidelity data.The results indicate that a complex trajectory can take advantage of morphing rules in keeping good aerodynamic performance,and the proposed method is more efficient than trajectory optimization by reducing 86%of the computing time.Xiaoyu CHEN Chunna LI Chunlin GONG Liangxian GU Andrea Da RONCH 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,7:8
4Dynamic analysis of granite rockburst based on the PIV technique显示文摘This paper describes the deep rockburst simulation system to reproduce the granite instantaneous rockburst process.Based on the PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry)technique,quantitative analysis of a rockburst,the images of tracer particle,displacement and strain fields can be obtained,and the debris trajectory described.According to the observation of on-site tests,the dynamic rockburst is actually a gas–solid high speed flow process,which is caused by the interaction of rock fragments and surrounding air.With the help of analysis on high speed video and PIV images,the granite rockburst failure process is composed of six stages of platey fragment spalling and debris ejection.Meanwhile,the elastic energy for these six stages has been calculated to study the energy variation.The results indicate that the rockburst process can be summarized as:an initiating stage,intensive developing stage and gradual decay stage.This research will be helpful for our further understanding of the rockburst mechanism.Wang Hongjian Liu Da'an Gong Weili Li Liyun 2015International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,2:6
5Development of a coupled supersonic inlet-fan Navier–Stokes simulation method显示文摘A coupled supersonic inlet-fan Navier–Stokes simulation method was developed by using COMSOL-CFD code. The flow turning, pressure rise and loss effects across blade rows of the fan and the inlet-fan interactions were taken into account as source terms of the governing equations without a blade geometry by a body force model. In this model, viscous effects in blade passages can also be calculated directly, which include the exchange of momentum between fluids and detailed viscous flow close to walls. NASA Rotor 37 compressor test rig was used to validate the ability of the body force model to estimate the real performance of blade rows. Calculated pressure ratio characteristics and the distribution of the total pressure, total temperature, and swirl angle in the span direction agreed well with experimental and numerical data. It is shown that the body force model is a promising approach for predicting the flow field of the turbomachinery. Then, coupled axisymmetric mixed compression supersonic inlet-fan simulations were conducted at Mach number 2.8 operating conditions. The analysis includes coupled steady-state performance, and effects of the fan on the inlet. 6Effects of Mg Addition on Inclusions Formation and Resultant Solidification Structure Changes of Ti-stabilized Ultra-pure Ferritic Stainless Steel显示文摘The effects of Mg addition on the formation of nonmetallic inclusions and solidification structure of Ti-stabilized ultra-pure ferritic stainless steels were investigated by experimentally casting ingots with different compositions.Thermodynamic analyses on the formation of complex inclusions after adding Mg into steels were carried out combined with the scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectrometry(SEM-EDS)analysis.And the EDS analysis showed that in steel samples with Mg addition,a new spinel crystal phase combined with Al2O3-TiOx formed.It was also found that after Mg addition,the proportions of equiaxed grain zone of 409L,4003,439 and 443NT steels increased from 10.2%,21.8%,13.4% and 18.6% to 84.3%,92.3%,91.1% and 100.0%,respectively.Since the planar disregistry between spinel and TiN is 5.1%,spinel could promote the precipitation of TiN and increase the number density of TiN inclusions in steel melts.The mechanism of solidification structure refinement after adding Mg into steels supposed that the complex inclusions of spinel and TiN in high number density enhanced columnar-to-equiaxed transition,since the planer disregistry betweenδphase and spinel is 1.4%.Ying-tie XU Zhao-ping CHEN Mao-tao GONG Da SHU Yue-mei TIAN Xiang-qian YUAN 2014Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2014,21,6:4
7Spontaneous T-symmetry breaking and exceptional points in cavity quantum electrodynamics systems显示文摘Spontaneous symmetry breaking has revolutionized the understanding in numerous fields of modern physics. Here, we theoretically demonstrate the spontaneous time-reversal symmetry breaking in a cavity quantum electrodynamics system in which an atomic ensemble interacts coherently with a single resonant cavity mode. The interacting system can be effectively described by two coupled oscillators with positive and negative mass, when the two-level atoms are prepared in their excited states. The occurrence of symmetry breaking is controlled by the atomic detuning and the coupling to the cavity mode,which naturally divides the parameter space into the symmetry broken and symmetry unbroken phases.The two phases are separated by a spectral singularity, a so-called exceptional point, where the eigenstates of the Hamiltonian coalesce. 8A MODEL FOR PREDICTING PHASE INVERSION IN OIL-WATER TWO-PHASE PIPE FLOW显示文摘Experiments of phase inversion characteristics for horizontal oil-water two-phase flow in a stainless steel pipe loop (25.7 mm inner diameter,52 m long) are conducted. A new viewpoint is brought forward about the process of phase inversion in oil-water two-phase pipe flow. Using the relations between the total free energies of the pre-inversion and post-inversion dispersions, a model for predicting phase inversion in oil-water two-phase pipe flow has been developed that considers the characteristics of pipe flow. This model is compared against other models with relevant data of phase inversion in oil-water two-phase pipe flow. Results indicate that this model is better than other models in terms of calculation precision and applicability. 10Environmental and tectonic significance of Late Permian reefs in the Linxi and adjacent areas in Inner Mongolia of China显示文摘Many plateau-edge reefs and reef mounds of the Late Permian have been discovered in Linxi County and adjacent areas of Inner Mongolia, China. These reefs verify that the Hinggan-Inner Mongolia Area was an open and unobstructed sea-trough in Late Permian. Facies and sequences of reef strata in Member 4 and Member 5 of the Linxi Formation were studied for information to reconstruct the closing process of the Linxi-Jiutai chasm in the sea-trough, i.e., to constrain subsidence, uplift, and final closing. Ages of the reef-bearing strata have been determined to be late and end of Late Permian, based on ranges or abundances of diverse fossils. Six reef-building organic assemblages were distinguished, representing different ecologic conditions, according to morphological functions and paleoecological adaptations of organisms including primarily sponges, bryozoans, and calcareous algae. Two types of shelf slopes, the gentle slope and the steep slope, have been interpreted for Member 4 and Member 5 of the Linxi Formation, based on the assemblages. 11Synchronization and temporal nonreciprocity of optical microresonators via spontaneous symmetry breaking显示文摘Synchronization is of importance in both fundamental and applied physics,but its demonstration at the micro/nanoscale is mainly limited to low-frequency oscillations such as mechanical resonators.We report the synchronization of two coupled optical microresonators,in which the high-frequency resonances in the optical domain are aligned with reduced noise.It is found that two types of synchronization regimes emerge with either the first-or second-order transition,both presenting a process of spontaneous symmetry breaking.In the second-order regime,the synchronization happens with an invariant topological character number and a larger detuning than that of the first-order case.Furthermore,an unconventional hysteresis behavior is revealed for a time-dependent coupling strength,breaking the static limitation and the temporal reciprocity.The synchronization of optical microresonators offers great potential in reconfigurable simulations of manybody physics and scalable photonic devices on a chip.Da Xu Zi-Zhao Han Yu-Kun Lu Qihuang Gong Cheng-Wei Qiu Gang Chen Yun-Feng Xiao 2019Advanced Photonics2019,1,4:2

13Nuclear transport proteins: structure, function, and disease relevance显示文摘Proper subcellular localization is crucial for the functioning of biomacromolecules,including proteins and RNAs.Nuclear transport is a fundamental cellular process that regulates the localization of many macromolecules within the nuclear or cytoplasmic compartments.In humans,approximately 60 proteins are involved in nuclear transport,including nucleoporins that form membrane-embedded nuclear pore complexes,karyopherins that transport cargoes through these complexes,and Ran system proteins that ensure directed and rapid transport.Many of these nuclear transport proteins play additional and essential roles in mitosis,biomolecular condensation,and gene transcription.Dysregulation of nuclear transport is linked to major human diseases such as cancer,neurodegenerative diseases,and viral infections.Selinexor(KPT-330),an inhibitor targeting the nuclear export factor XPO1(also known as CRM1),was approved in 2019 to treat two types of blood cancers,and dozens of clinical trials of are ongoing.This review summarizes approximately three decades of research data in this field but focuses on the structure and function of individual nuclear transport proteins from recent studies,providing a cutting-edge and holistic view on the role of nuclear transport proteins in health and disease.In-depth knowledge of this rapidly evolving field has the potential to bring new insights into fundamental biology,pathogenic mechanisms,and therapeutic approaches.Yang Yang Lu Guo Lin Chen Bo Gong Da Jia Qingxiang Sun 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,12:1
