| 1 | Somatic embryogenesis in wild relatives of cotton (Gossypium Spp.)显示文摘Wild cotton species can contribute a valuable gene pool for agronomically desirable cultivated tetraploid cultivars. In order to exploit diploid cotton a regeneration system is required to achieve transformation based goals. The present studies aimed at optimizing the conditions for regeneration of local varieties as well as wild species of cotton. Different callus induction media were tested with varying concentrations of hormones in which sucrose was used as nutritional source. Different explants (hypo-cotyls, cotyledon, root) were used to check the regeneration of both local cotton plants and wild relatives using T & G medium, BAP medium, CIM medium, EMMS medium, and cell suspension medium. Different stages of embryogenicity such as early torpedo stage, late torpedo stage, heart stage, globular stage and cotyledonary stage were observed in wild relatives of cotton. | 2 | Comparison of a plant based natural surfactant with SDS for washing of As(V) from Fe rich soil显示文摘This study explores the possible application of a biodegradable plant based surfactant,obtained from Sapindus mukorossi,for washing low levels of arsenic(As)from an iron(Fe)rich soil.Natural association of As(V)with Fe(III)makes the process difcult.Soapnut solution was compared to anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)in down-flow and a newly introduced suction mode for soil column washing.It was observed that soapnut attained up to 86%efciency with respect to SDS in removing As.Full factorial design of experiment revealed a very good fit of data.The suction mode generated up to 83 kPa pressure inside column whilst down-flow mode generated a much higher pressure of 214 kPa,thus making the suction mode more efcient.Micellar solubilisation was found to be responsible for As desorption from the soil and it followed 1st order kinetics.Desorption rate coefcient of suction mode was found to be in the range of 0.005 to 0.01,much higher than down-flow mode values.Analysis of the FT-IR data suggested that the soapnut solution did not interact chemically with As,ofering an option for reusing the surfactant.Soapnut can be considered as a soil washing agent for removing As even from soil with high Fe content. | Soumyadeep Mukhopadhyay Mohd. | 3 | 公路几何特征对通行能力影响分析(英文)显示文摘通行能力预测是公路设施规划、设计与运营中的基础环节.本文基于埃及曼努菲亚省12条农村双车道路段数据,研究了公路线形等几何特征对通行能力的影响以及线形由切线变为平曲线时通行能力的损失.所选取的路段线形包括直线和随后的平曲线.同时,采集了各路段上车流量及速度数据,利用基于基本图的外推法研究流量和密度关系.路段上不同车型的车辆均转换为小客车当量.此外,针对不同情形(切线、平曲线及对应流量损失),分别建立了最佳回归模型.结果表明,切线型道路的关键自变量是路宽、肩宽以及切线长;平曲线道路的关键变量是曲线半径和路宽.通行能力和几何特征关系最佳模型的自变量为曲线半径.本文的模型可用于分析评价农村双车道道路的通行能力,尤其是评价文中所研究路段的通行能力. | HASHIM Ibrahim Hassan ABDEL-WAHED Talaat Ali | 2012 | 交通运输系统工程与信息2012，12，5： | 4 |

| 5 | LASIK治疗苏丹青少年难治性屈光参差性弱视(英文)显示文摘目的:评价准分子激光原位角膜磨镶术(LASIK)联合遮盖疗法治疗青少年屈光参差性弱视的疗效,并将其与传统光学矫正联合遮盖疗法的疗效进行比较。方法:回顾性病例对照研究,屈光参差性弱视患者19例,年龄10~17岁。A组包括患屈光参差性弱视的青少年10例,光学矫正联合遮盖疗法后,他们的视力不能改善。这些患者后接受LASIK联合遮盖疗法。B组包括年龄相匹配的屈光参差性弱视患者9例作为对照,他们适应光学矫正联合遮盖疗法。分析A组的术后视力,并与B组进行比较。结果:A组,术前平均球性屈光不正度数为-8.9±5.2D,术后为-1.9±2.0D;术前平均最佳矫正视力为0.25±0.18,治疗后提高至0.50±0.26。B组,治疗前平均最佳矫正视力为0.27±0.18,治疗后提高至0.50±0.28。两组治疗后最佳矫正视力相比较,无统计学差异。结论:对于经过传统的光学矫正联合遮盖疗法而不能提高视力的青少年屈光参差性弱视患者,LASIK为他们提供了一个可行的治疗方法,其治疗效果与传统疗法相当。 | Kamal Hashim Binnawi Sara Mursi Nadir Ali Mohamed Ali | 2009 | 国际眼科杂志2009，9，1： | 2 |
| 6 | A comparative study of biopolymers and alum in the separation and recovery of pulp fibres from paper mill effluent by flocculation显示文摘Recovery of cellulose fibres from paper mill effluent has been studied using common polysaccharides or biopolymers such as Guar gum,Xanthan gum and Locust bean gum as flocculent.Guar gum is commonly used in sizing paper and routinely used in paper making.The results have been compared with the performance of alum,which is a common coagulant and a key ingredient of the paper industry.Guar gum recovered about 3.86 mg/L of fibre and was most effective among the biopolymers.Settling velocity distribution curves demonstrated that Guar gum was able to settle the fibres faster than the other biopolymers;however,alum displayed the highest particle removal rate than all the biopolymers at any of the settling velocities.Alum,Guar gum,Xanthan gum and Locust bean gum removed 97.46%,94.68%,92.39%and 92.46%turbidity of raw effluent at a settling velocity of 0.5 cm/min,respectively.The conditions for obtaining the lowest sludge volume index such as pH,dose and mixing speed were optimised for guar gum which was the most effective among the biopolymers.Response surface methodology was used to design all experiments,and an optimum operational setting was proposed.The test results indicate similar performance of alum and Guar gum in terms of floc settling velocities and sludge volume index.Since Guar gum is a plant derived natural substance,it is environmentally benign and offers a green treatment option to the paper mills for pulp recycling. | Sumona Mukherjee Soumyadeep Mukhopadhyay Agamuthu Pariatamby Mohd.
