| 1 | Assessment of the Ecological Security in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area by Using the Ecological Footprint Method显示文摘The ecological footprint concept and its calculation models are useful for the measurement of the sustainable level of social and economic development.The ecological security situation of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area(TGRA) was evaluated using this concept in this study.The construction of the Three Gorges Reservoir has led to the change in the ecology and immigration status of TGRA.The ecological footprint method is an important means to study the regional ecological security.Our results suggested that,by excluding the areas for biodiversity conservation(12% of the total land),the ecological footprint per capita was 0.57895 ha,which exceeded the ecological carrying capacity in TGRA.The total ecological deficit was found to be 11,522,193.34 ha,accounting for 95.02% of the ecological carrying capacity.These findings suggested that the ecological security of TGRA was not good.In order to compensate for the ecological deficit,it was essential to introduce natural resources from other regions. | WANG Haiming WANG Hai'e SUN Hongyang WANG Xiaolan LIAO Xiaoyong CHEN Zhijian LI Xianwei | 2012 | Journal of Mountain Science2012,9,6: | 9 |
| 2 | Improvement of antibacterial activity of copper nanoclusters for selective inhibition on the growth of gram-positive bacteria显示文摘In general, copper nanoclusters (CuNCs) possess very low or even virtually no bactericidal effect. Herein,we report a novel CuNCs possessing significantly high antibacterial activity, that is tannic acid (TA)capped CuNCs (TA-CuNCs). TA-CuNCs exhibit strong absorption and excitation-dependent fluorescence within pH 2-12, resulting from the functional groups of TA-CuNCs due to two prototropic equilibria,phenolphenolate and carboxyliccarboxylate. There exists synergistic effect of TA and copper nanoclusters which endows TA-CuNCs remarkable antibacterial capability as a microbicide, as characterized by the effective inhibition on the growth of gram-positive bacteria by damaging the cell membrane. By incubating 1 x 10~7 CFU/mL of gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis with 30 μg/mL of TA-CuNCs for 10 min, the bacteria are completely inhibited, while under same conditions the viabilities of gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli 0157:H7 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa remain 85.0%, 72.0%, respectively. In addition, TA-CuNCs exhibit low cytotoxicity and favorable biocompatibility demonstrated by standard methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay with HepG2 and 293 Tcells, giving rise to cell viability of 94.2% for HepG2 and 96.7% for 293 T by incubating 10~6 cell/mL with 200 μg/mL of TA-CuNCs for 24 h. | 5 | Optimization of Texture Determination of ‘Yali' by Texture Analyzer显示文摘[Objectives] This study was carried out to determine texture parameters for texture profile analysis( TPA),and optimize the texture determination of‘Yali'by texture analyzer. [Methods]The traditional varieties of‘Yali'were taken as the materials,and texture parameters were determined at different compression rates and deformations at target. [Results]In the process of the TPA,the deformation at target had an extremely significant influence on 8 TPA texture parameters,namely,the hardness,cohesiveness,springiness,adhesiveness,gumminess,resilience,fracturability,and chewiness( P≤0. 01),while the compression rate had significant influence on the hardness and gumminess( P≤0. 05),had an extremely significant influence on fracturability( P≤0. 01),and had no significant influence on other 5 TPA parameters.
