| 1 | Endoscopic ultrasonography guided biliary drainage: Summary of consortium meeting, May 7^(th) , 2011, Chicago显示文摘Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has become the preferred procedure for biliary or pancreatic drainage in various pancreatico-biliary disorders. With a success rate of more than 90%, ERCP may not achieve biliary or pancreatic drainage in cases with altered anatomy or with tumors obstructing access to the duodenum. In the past those failures were typically managed exclusively by percutaneous approaches by interventional radiologists or surgical intervention. The morbidity associated was significant especially in those patients with advanced malignancy, seeking minimally invasive interventions and improved quality of life. With the advent of biliary drainage via endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) guidance, EUS guided biliary drainage has been used more frequently within the last decade in different countries. As with any novel advanced endoscopic procedure that encompasses various approaches, advanced endoscopists all over the world have innovated and adopted diverse EUS guided biliary and pancreatic drainage techniques. This diversity has resulted in variations and improvements in EUS Guided biliary and pancreatic drainage; and over the years has led to an extensive nomenclature. The diversity of techniques, nomenclature and recent progress in our intrumentation has led to a dedicated meeting on May 7 th , 2011 during Digestive Disease Week 2011. More than 40 advanced endoscopists from United States, Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Italy, France, Austria, Germany, Spain, Japan, China, South Korea and India attended this pivotal meeting. The meeting covered improved EUS guided biliary access and drainage procedures, terminology, nomenclature, training and credentialing; as well as emerging devices for EUS guided biliary drainage. | 2 | Carcinoid tumor of the appendix: A consecutive series from 1237 appendectomies显示文摘AIM: To report the experience of the CHU Sart Tilman, University of Liège, Belgium, in the management of appendiceal carinoid tumor. METHODS: A retrospective review of 1237 appendecto- mies performed in one single centre from January 2000 to May 2004, was undertaken. Analysis of demographic data, clinical presentation, histopathology, operative re- ports and outcome was presented. RESULTS: Among the 1237 appendectomies, 5 appen- diceal carcinoid tumors were identified (0.4%) in 4 male and 1 female patients, with a mean age of 29.2 years (range: 6-82 years). Acute appendicitis was the clinical presentation for all patients. Four patients underwent open appendectomy and one a laparoscopic procedure. One patient was reoperated to complete the excision of mesoappendix. All tumors were located at the tip of the appendix with a mean diameter of 0.6 cm (range: 0.3-1.0 cm). No adjuvant therapy was performed. All patients were alive and disease-free during a mean follow-up of 33 mo. CONCLUSION: Appendiceal carcinoid tumor most of- ten presents as appendicitis. In most cases, it is found incidentally during appendectomies and its diagnosis is rarely suspected before histological examination. | 8 | Outcome and prognostic factors in 110 consecutive patients with primary uterine leiomyosarcoma:A Rare Cancer Network study显示文摘Objective: Primary uterine leiomyosarcomas(ULMS) are rare,and the optimal treatment is controversial.We aimed to assess the outcome and prognostic factors in a multicenter population of women treated for primary ULMS.Methods: We retrospectively collected data of 110 women treated in 19 institutions of the Rare Cancer Network(RCN).Inclusion criteria consisted of a pathology report confirming the diagnosis of ULMS,aged 18–80 years,complete International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics(FIGO) stage information,complete information on treatment,and a minimum follow-up of 6 months.Local control(LC) and locoregional control(LRC),overall survival(OS) and disease-free survival(DFS) rates were computed using the Kaplan-Meier method.Univariate analysis was implemented using the log rank test,and multivariate analysis using the Cox model.Results: All patients underwent surgery.Seventy-five patients(68%) received adjuvant radiotherapy(RT),including brachytherapy in 18(16%).Seventeen patients(15%) received adjuvant chemotherapy.Median follow-up was 58(range,6–240) months.Five-year OS and DFS rates were 50% and 34%,and LC and LRC rates were 88%and 72%,respectively.On multivariate analysis,independent favorable prognostic factors were younger age,FIGO stage I,small tumor size,previous uterine disease,and no vascular invasion for OS and DFS.FIGO stage was the only favorable factor influencing LRC.Adjuvant local or systemic treatments did not improve the outcomes.Eight patients treated with RT presented a grade 3 acute toxicity,and only one patient with grade 3 late toxicity.Conclusions: In this large population of primary ULMS patients,we found good results in terms of LC and LRC.Nevertheless,OS remains poor,mainly due to the occurrence of distant metastases.An early diagnosis seemed to improve the prognosis of the patients.Adjuvant local or systemic treatments,or more aggressive surgicalprocedures such as the Wertheim procedure,did not seem to impact the outcome. | Alessandra Franzetti Pellanda Berardino De Bari Elisabeth Deniaud-Alexandre MarcoKrengli Paul Van Houtte Antonella Riehetti Salvador Villa Hadassah Goldberg EwaSzutowiez-Zielifiska Michel Bolla Heidi Rutten Marc Van Eijkeren Philip Poortmans Guido Henke Yavuz Anaeak Steve Chan Christine Landmann Carine Kirkove LueianoScandolaro Jacques Bernier Rene-Olivier Mirimanof Mahmut Ozsahin | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017，29，6： | 2 |
| 9 | Importance of adapted digestion conditions to simulate in vitro lipid digestion of broilers in different life stages显示文摘In vitro digestion studies demonstrate large potential to gain more and quicker insights into the underlying mechanisms of feed additives,allowing the optimization of feed design.Unfortunately,current in vitro digestion models relevant for broiler chickens lack sufficient description in terms of protocols and standardisation used.Furthermore,no distinction is made between the different life phases of these animals(starter,grower,and finisher).Hence,our research aimed to establish adapted in vitro digestion conditions,corresponding to the 3 life phases in broilers,with specific focus on lipid digestion.The effect of 3 different bile salt concentrations of 2,10,and 20 mM,and 3 different lipase activities of 5,20,and 100 U/mL,on in vitro lipid digestion kinetics were evaluated using a full factorial design.These values were selected to represent starter,grower,and finisher birds,respectively.Our findings showed that the extent of lipid digestion was mainly influenced by lipase activity.The rate of lipid digestion was affected by an interplay between bile salt concentration and lipase activity,due to possible lipase inhibition at certain bile salt concentrations.Overall,this work resulted in 3 in vitro lipid digestion models representative for starter,grower,and finisher birds.In conclusion,this research showed the impact of adapted in vitro digestion conditions on lipid digestion kinetics and thus the need for these conditions relevant for each life phase of broilers. | Daphne Michels Sarah H.E.Verkempinck Agnese Panozzo Karen Vermeulen Marc E.Hendrickx Liesbet Thijs Tara Grauwet | 2023 | Animal Nutrition2023，，1： | 2 |
