1Artificial intelligence in gastrointestinal endoscopy:The future is almost here显示文摘Artificial intelligence(AI) enables machines to provide unparalleled value in a myriad of industries and applications. In recent years, researchers have harnessed artificial intelligence to analyze large-volume, unstructured medical data and perform clinical tasks, such as the identification of diabetic retinopathy or the diagnosis of cutaneous malignancies. Applications of artificial intelligence techniques, specifically machine learning and more recently deep learning, are beginning to emerge in gastrointestinal endoscopy. The most promising of these efforts have been in computeraided detection and computer-aided diagnosis of colorectal polyps, with recent systems demonstrating high sensitivity and accuracy even when compared to expert human endoscopists. AI has also been utilized to identify gastrointestinal bleeding, to detect areas of inflammation, and even to diagnose certain gastrointestinal infections. Future work in the field should concentrate on creating seamless integration of AI systems with current endoscopy platforms and electronic medical records, developing training modules to teach clinicians how to use AI tools, and determining the best means for regulation and approval of new AI technology.Muthuraman Alagappan Jeremy R Glissen Brown Yuichi Mori Tyler M Berzin 2018World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy2018,10,10:14
2Galvanic Corrosion Behaviour of HE 20 / MDN 138 & HE 20 /MDN 250 Alloys in Natural Seawater显示文摘In view of their excellent mechanical properties, workability and heat treatment characteristics, MDN 138 & MDN 250 have been widely used in missile, rocket and aerospace industries. With light weight and high performance characteristics HE 20 aluminium alloy acts as an important material in defence and aerospace applications. The galvanic corrosion behaviour of the metal combinations HE 20 / MDN 138 and HE 20 / MDN 250, with 1:1 area ratio, has been studied in natural seawater using the open well facility of CECRI's Offshore Platform at Tuticorin for a year. The open circuit potentials of MDN 138, MDN 250 and HE 20 of the individual metal, the mixed potential and galvanic current of the couples HE 20 / MDN 138 and HE 20 / MDN 250 were periodically monitored throughout the study period. The calcareous deposits on MDN 138 and MDN 250 were analysed using XRD. The results of the study reveal that that HE 20 has offered required amount of protection to MDN 138 & MDN 250.G. 3Investigation of anticancer potencies of newly generated Schiff base imidazolylphenylheterocyclic-2-ylmethylenethiazole-2-amines显示文摘A new series of multi-heterocyclic Schiff base was constructed starting from 4'-(imidazol-1-yl[56_TD$IF])-acetophenone which was converted to its 2-bromoethanone precursor which on cyclic condensation with thiourea yielded final thiazol-2-amine intermediate(3) to be reacted with substituted aldehydes to generate final imidazolylphenylheterocyclic-2-ylmethylenethiazole-2-amines(4a–4i). New Schiff base was investigated for their in vitro cytotoxic efficacies against a panel of three human cancer cell lines namely, MCF7(human breast cancer), HCT116(human colon cancer), and DU145(human prostate cancer) and one normal skin fibroblast(SF). Most of these synthetic derivatives shown important cytotoxic actions against individual carcinoma cell line collections, but weak actions against SF, which is as anticipated. Observations of SAR suggested that the difference in the characteristics of substituents attached to the Schiff base function leads to the interesting variations within pharmacological effects of resultant molecular systems. Structural analysis performed using FT-IR,~1H NMR,^(13)C NMR spectroscopy and CHN analysis for final potent anticancer Schiff base, which warrant further investigations.Nikhil M. Parekh Bhupendra M.
