1In vitro and in vivo evaluation of cubosomes containing 5-fluorouracil for liver targeting显示文摘The objective of this study was to prepare cubosomal nanoparticles containing a hydrophilic anticancer drug 5-fluorouracil(5-FU) for liver targeting. Cubosomal dispersions were prepared by disrupting a cubic gel phase of monoolein and water in the presence of Poloxamer 407 as a stabilizer.Cubosomes loaded with 5-FU were characterized in vitro and in vivo. In vitro, 5-FU-loaded cubosomes entrapped 31.21% drug and revealed nanometer-sized particles with a narrow particle size distribution. In vitro 5-FU release from cubosomes exhibited a phase of rapid release of about half of the entrapped drug during the first hour, followed by a relatively slower drug release as compared to 5-FU solution. In vivo biodistribution experiments indicated that the cubosomal formulation significantly(Po 0.05) increased5-FU liver concentration, a value approximately 5-fold greater than that observed with a 5-FU solution.However, serum serological results and histopathological findings revealed greater hepatocellular damage in rats treated with cubosomal formulation. These results demonstrate the successful development of cubosomal nanoparticles containing 5-FU for liver targeting. 2Isolation and characterization of facultative mixotrophic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria from constructed wetlands显示文摘Autotrophic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) have been widely studied in constructed wetlands systems,while mixotrophic AOB have been less thoroughly examined.Heterotrophic bacteria were isolated from wastewater and rhizospheres of macrophytes of constructed wetlands,and then cultivated in a mixotrophic medium containing ammonium and acetic acid.A molecular characterization was accomplished using ITS-PCR amplification,and phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences.Results showed the presence of 35 bacteria,among 400 initially heterotrophic isolates,that were able to remove ammonia.These 35 isolates were classified into 10 genetically different groups based on ITS pattern.Then,a collection of 10 isolates were selected because of their relatively high ammonia removal efficiencies (ARE 80%) and their phylogenetic diversity.In conditions of mixotrophy,these strains were shown to be able to grow (increase of optical density OD 660 during incubation with assimilation of nitrogen into cellular biomass) and to oxidize ammonia (important ammonia oxidation efficiencies,AOE between 79% and 87%).Among these facultative mixotrophic AOB,four isolates were genetically related to Firmicutes (Bacillus and Exiguobacterium),three isolates were affiliated to Actinobacteria (Arthrobacter) and three other isolates were associated with Proteobacteria (Pseudomonas,Ochrobactrum and Bordetella).Soulwène Kouki Neila Saidi Fadhel M'hiri Houda Nasr Hanène Cherif Hadda Ouzari Abdennaceur Hassen 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,10:9
3Optimum chemotherapy in the management of metastatic pancreatic cancer显示文摘Pancreatic cancer is one of the most devastating solid tumors,and it remains one of the most difficult to treat.The treatment of metastatic pancreatic cancer(MPC)is systemic,based on chemotherapy or best supportive care,depending on the performance status of the patient.Two chemotherapeutical regimens have produced substantial benefits in the treatment of MPC:gemcitabine in 1997;and FOLFIRIONOX in 2011.FOLFIRINOX improved the natural history of MPC,with overall survival(OS)of 11.1 mo.Nab-paclitaxel associated with gemcitabine is a newly approved regimen for MPC,with a median OS of 8.6 mo.Despite multiple trials,this targeted therapy was not efficient in the treatment of MPC.Many new molecules targeting the proliferation and survival pathways,immune response,oncofetal signaling and the epigenetic changes are currently undergoing phaseⅠandⅡtrials for the treatment of MPC,with many promising results.Marwan Ghosn Hampig Raphael Kourie Fadi El Karak Colette Hanna Joelle Antoun Dolly Nasr 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,9:7
4Long term performance of warm mix asphalt versus hot mix asphalt显示文摘The fatigue behavior, indirect tensile strength (ITS) and resilient modulus test results for warm mix asphalt (WMA) as well as hot mix asphalt (HMA) at different ageing levels were evaluated. Laboratory-prepared samples were aged artificially in the oven to simulate short-term and long term ageing in accordance with AASHTO R30 and then compared with unaged specimens. Beam fatigue testing was performed using beam specimens at 25℃ based on AASHTO T321 standard. Fatigue life, bending stiffness and dissipated energy for both unaged and aged mixtures were calculated using four-point beam fatigue test results. Three-point bending tests were performed using semi-circular bend (SCB) specimens at -10℃ and the critical mode I stress intensity factor K I was then calculated using the peak load obtained from the load-displacement curve. 5Effect of different seed treatments on dormancy breaking and germination in three species in arid and semi-arid lands显示文摘Seeds of many woody plant species have one of several types of dormancy. They do not germinate unless specific environmental signals are in place or events occur. This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of scarification treatments on seed dormancy and germination of Acacia nilotica (L.) Willd. ex Del., Prosopis juliflora (Sw.) DC. and Dodonaea viscosa (L.) Jacq. The following treatments were applied: T1, untreated seed (control); T2, sulphuric acid (97%) for 45 min; T3, boiling water for 5 min. The seeds were cultured on a Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium after sterilization. The responses of seeds to treatments were compared with each other and with the control treatment. Germination was observed daily for a 30-day period. Results indicated positive responses to treatments, while impermeable seed coats may be responsible for low germination rates in intact seeds as seen experimentally in the untreated control. The highest germination was obtained for P. juliflora and D. viscosa acid-scarified seeds (80.8%-90.8%) and for scarified seeds of A. nilotica (50.2%) boiled in water. 6Quantitative nanoscale mapping of three-phase thermal conductivities in filled skutterudites via scanning thermal microscopy显示文摘In the last two decades, a nano structuring paradigm has been successfully applied in a wide range of thermoelectric materials, resulting in significant reduction in thermal conductivity and superior thermoelectric performance. These advances, however, have been accomplished without directly investigating the local thermoelectric properties, even though local electric current can be mapped with high spatial resolution. In fact, there still lacks an effective method that links the macroscopic thermoelectric performance to the local micro structures and properties. Here, we show that local thermal conductivity can be mapped quantitatively with good accuracy, nanometer resolution and one-to-one correspondence to the micro structure using a three-phase skutterudite as a model system. Scanning thermal microscopy combined with finite element simulations demonstrate close correlation between sample conductivity and probe resistance,enabling us to distinguish thermal conductivities spanning orders of magnitude, yet resolving thermal variation across a phase interface with small contrast. 7沙库巴曲/缬沙坦治疗扩张型心肌病合并心力衰竭一例显示文摘血管紧张素受体-脑啡肽酶抑制剂(ARNI)沙库巴曲/缬沙坦对扩张型心肌病(DCM)合并射血分数减低心力衰竭(HFrEF)及复杂心律失常治疗效果仍不明确。该文报道了1例52岁男性,因发现心率慢8年余,胸闷头晕3个月入院,诊断为DCM、心力衰竭、室性心动过速、心房颤动、心房扑动。行植入型体内自动除颤器植入术,术后予β受体拮抗剂、ACEI、醛固酮拮抗剂、利尿剂等药物治疗,效果不佳,后更换ACEI为ARNI(沙库巴曲/缬沙坦)治疗3个月,起始剂量为100 mg,每日2次,服药3个月后患者LVEF从42%升至54%,N-端脑钠肽前体降低,6 min步行距离增加,室性期前收缩及室性心动过速减少,说明起始剂量100 mg的沙库巴曲/缬沙坦治疗DCM合并HFrEF及复杂心律失常安全,效果或优于ACEI类药物。Khaled Abdulbaqi Baggash Nasr Amgad Qaid Abdu Al-gaobahi 朱世杰 赵海玉 彭健 2020新医学2020,51,2:5

9Response of primiparous and multiparous buffaloes to yeast culture supplementation during early and mid-lactation显示文摘Strains of live Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast have exhibited probiotic effects in ruminants. This study investigated the effects of the dietary yeast supplement, S. cerevisiae(Yea-Sacc^(1026)), on primiparous(PP)and multiparous(MP) Egyptian buffaloes in early to mid-lactation. Lactating buffaloes were fed either a basal total mixed ration(TMR, control; 4 PP and 8 MP) or the basal TMR plus 10 g Yea-Sacc^(1026) per buffalo cow per day(yeast; 4 PP and 8 MP). The feeds were given from 15 days prepartum to 180 days postpartum. Feed intake, body weight, and milk yields(MY) were recorded, and milk and blood samples were collected for analyses. Feces were collected from days 45 to 47 during early lactation and from days 90 to92 during mid-lactation to determine apparent digestibility of dry matter(DM), organic matter(OM),crude protein(CP) and crude fiber(CF). Energy corrected milk yield(ECM), feed conversion, and energy and nitrogen conversion efficiency were calculated. Yeast treated MP buffaloes consumed more DM(P < 0.041) and CP than the untreated control group. Apparent digestibility of DM and OM were significantly greater at mid-lactation for treated versus control group(P = 0.001). Crude fiber digestibility was greater in MP than in PP buffaloes(P = 0.049), and yeast supplemented MP cows had a greater CF digestibility than control MP buffaloes at mid-lactation(P = 0.010). Total blood lipids decreased after yeast supplementation(P= 0.029). Milk yields, ECM, fat and protein yields increased for yeast treated MP buffaloes(P < 0.039). The study concluded that the response to yeast supplementation in buffalo cows is parity dependent. Multiparous buffaloes respond to yeast supplementation with an increased DM intake and CF digestibility without significant weight gains, allowing a greater ECM yield with less fat mobilization. Supplementing buffaloes with yeast culture may increase milk production in early lactation and results in a more persistent milk production during mid-lactation. 11小剂量瑞芬太尼对全麻苏醒拔管期不良反应的作用显示文摘背景瑞芬太尼可以减轻全麻苏醒期时的咳嗽、躁动和血流动力学变化等不良反应。方法在一项前瞻性、随机、双盲临床试验中,60例接受鼻部手术的成人患者采用以瑞芬太尼为基础的麻醉方案。在苏醒期,瑞芬太尼组患者将瑞芬太尼用量减至维持量的1/10,而对照组患者则停止使用。结果两组患者的苏醒时间和气管拔管时间无明显区别。与对照组相比,瑞芬太尼组在苏醒期(输注速率:0.014±0.011μg·kg·min^-1)的咳嗽发生率(40%vs80%,P=0.002)和严重程度均明显减轻,不自主运动发生率降低(3.3%vs30%,P=0.006),心率较慢。结论在苏醒期使用小剂量瑞芬太尼不会延长苏醒时间,且降低气管插管所致咳嗽的发生率和严重程度。Marie T. Trimmed Generalized Sign(TGS), Modified Savage(MS). Mann-Whitney(MW) and a new proposed detector in multiple target situations. The analysis is carried out for both fluctuating and nonfluctuating received signals. The simulation results show that the new proposed detector has the best detection performance in homogeneous as well as nonhomogeneous background conditions, while TGS procedure is better than the GS detector in distinguishing the primary target from the secondary interfering ones.Mohamed B. 14Improving of photocatalytic activity of barium ferrate via bismuth and copper co-doping for degradation of paracetamol under visible light irradiation显示文摘Nanosized Ba_(1-x)Bi_(x)Fe_(1-x)Cu_(x)O_(3)(12–50 nm)with x values of 0,0.01,0.05,and 0.1 system was prepared using the Pechini method.Structural,morphological,surface and optical characterizations were performed for the prepared samples.Cubic phase was the predominant phase for the undoped BaFeO_(3)and Bi and Cu co-doped BaFeO_(3)samples.Minor phases of monoclinic Ba_(2)Fe_(2)O_(5),orthorhombic BaFe_(2)O_(4)and orthorhombic BaCO_(3)were identified for all the prepared samples.Ba_(0.95)Bi_(0.05)Fe_(0.95)Cu_(0.05)O_(3)sample has the lowest band gap(2.43 e V).98.1%paracetamol removal was achieved with 0.75 g/L of Ba_(0.95)Bi_(0.05)Fe_(0.95)Cu_(0.05)O_(3)at pH9 after 120 min.The paracetamol degradation follows the pseudo first-order kinetics.HO·is the main oxidative species responsible for the paracetamol degradation.Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry(GC–MS)analysis was performed at the end of the photocatalytic degradation experiment under optimum operating condition using Ba_(0.95)Bi_(0.05)Fe_(0.95)Cu_(0.05)O_(3)to explain the reaction mechanism and identify the intermediate by-products which is confirmed by ultraviolet/visible(UV/Vis)spectroscopy study at different reaction times.Hussien Ahmed Abbas Rabab Ahmed Nasr Rose-Noelle Vannier Tarek Samir Jamil 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,2:2
15Where does chemotherapy stands in the treatment of ampullary carcinoma? 16Mapping intrinsic electromechanical responses at the nanoscale via sequential excitation scanning probe microscopy empowered by deep data显示文摘Ever-increasing hardware capabilities and computation powers have enabled acquisition and analysis of big scientific data at the nanoscale routine, though much of the data acquired often turn out to be redundant,noisy and/or irrelevant to the problems of interest, and it remains nontrivial to draw clear mechanistic insights from pure data analytics. In this work, we use scanning probe microscopy(SPM) as an example to demonstrate deep data methodology for nanosciences, transitioning from brute-force analytics such as data mining, correlation analysis and unsupervised classification to informed and/or targeted causative data analytics built on sound physical understanding. Three key ingredients of such deep data analytics are presented. A sequential excitation scanning probe microscopy(SE-SPM) technique is first developed to acquire high-quality, efficient and physically relevant data, which can be easily implemented on any standard atomic force microscope(AFM). Brute-force physical analysis is then carried out using a simple harmonic oscillator(SHO) model, enabling us to derive intrinsic electromechanical coupling of interest.Finally, principal component analysis(PCA) is carried out, which not only speeds up the analysis by four orders of magnitude, but also allows a clear physical interpretation of its modes in combination with SHO analysis. 17Evaluation of in vitro antioxidant and apoptotic activities of Cyperus rotundus显示文摘Objective:To evaluate in vitro antioxidant and apoptotic activities of Crperus rotundas(C.rotundus).Methods:The phytochemical study and the antioxidant activities of both methanol and aqueous extracts from C.rotundus aerial part were determined.In addition,these extracts were also investigated for their cytotoxic and apoptotic activities.The major compound of the methanol extract was isolated.Both metlianol and aqueous extracts(300,150,and 50μg/mL)were evaluated for their antioxidant activity by the xanthine/xanthine oxidase assay system.However,16,8,and 4 mg/mL of each extract were tested to investigate their OH.formation scavenging potential.Aqueous extract(800,400.and 200μg/mL)and melhunol extract(350,175,and 88μg/mL)were tested against lipid peroxidation,induced by 75μM H_2O_2,The cytotoxicity(by MTT assay)and cell DNA fragmentation of both extracts were evaluated Inwards K562 and L1210 cell lines.The major compound was obtained from the butanol fraction of methanol extract and its structure was determined by KMN spectroscopic analysis.Results:The methanol and aqueous extracts showed respectively,88%and 19%inhibition of xanthine oxidase activity.Vet.the same extracts inhibited lipid peroxidation by 61.5%and 42.0%.respectively.Roth extracts inhibited OH.formation by 27.1%and 25.3%,respectively.Only methanol cxtract induced DNA degradation.Orientin was determined as the major compound isolated from the butanol fraction of metlianol extract.Conclusions:It appears that C.rotundus extracts exhibit a potential use as a natural antioxidant and an apoptosis inducer.Kilani-Jaziri Soumaya Ghedira Zied Nasr Nouha Krifa Mounira Ghedira Kamel Franca Dijoux Marie Genviève Ghedira Chekir Leila 2014Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2014,7,2:2

19Fenton treatment of olive oil mill wastewater—applicability of the method and parameters effects on the degradation process显示文摘The low biodegradability of polyphenolic compounds typically found in olive processing indicated that biological treatment is not always successful in the treatment of olive oil mill wastewater in term of COD removal. In this study the results of investigations on the applicability of Fenton’s reagent in the treatment of this effluent were discussed. The efficiency of this method was determined. 86 % of removal COD was obtained using 5 mol H 2O 2 and 0.4 mol Fe 2+ per liter of crude OMW. 20Global left ventricular performance in non-diabetic non-hypertensive metabolic syndrome adults显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the left ventricular structure and function in isolated metabolic syndrome.METHODS:One hundred and fifty six consecutive adults with metabolic syndrome were enrolled in the study.Fifty nine had isolated metabolic syndrome(group A) and 97 had metabolic syndrome with hypertension and/or diabetes(group B).There was a control group of 34 healthy adults.In addition to classic echocardiographic assessment of myocardial structural and functional changes,the Tei index was used to evaluate global left ventricular performance.RESULTS:There were no statistically significant differences between group A and controls in all parameters of left ventricular structural,systolic,and diastolic function except global myocardial performance(Tei index).On the other hand,significant differences were observed between group B and the control group in most of the parameters of left ventricular structural and global performance.CONCLUSION:The early identification of isolated metabolic syndrome in non-diabetic,non-hypertensive adults may be an indication that aggressive preventive measures should not be postponed until overt obesity,hypertension or diabetes mellitus has developed.Hamdy Sliem Gamela Nasr Dalia Ibrahiem 2011World Journal of Cardiology2011,3,2:2
