1Smashing Tissue Extraction and HPLC Determination of Active Saponins from Different Parts of Panax notoginseng显示文摘Objective To optimize the extraction technology used for extracting active saponins from the roots,fibrous roots,basal part of stems,root verrucae,fruits,flowers,stems,and leaves of Panax notoginseng based on the contents of ginsengsides Rg1,Rb1,and notoginsengside R1 as evaluation indexes.Methods Different parts of P.notoginseng were extracted by smashing tissue extraction(STE),ultrasound extraction,and reflux extraction.The contents of ginsengsides Rg1,Rb1,and notoginsengside R1 in 24 kinds of extracts were determined by HPLC-UV.Hypersil C18 column(200 mm × 4.6 mm,5 μm) and acetonitrile-warter(20:80 for 30 min→45:55 for 18 min→70:30 for 2 min→80:20 for 10 min→100:0) were used;UV detector was set at 203 nm;The flow rate was set at 1.0 mL/min.Results STE was the most efficient technology with the highest yield of active saponins among the three tested extraction technologies.Conclusion STE is a fast,effective,and economical method to extract the active saponins from different parts of P.notoginseng.It could significantly shorten the extraction time and simplify the determination of the pre-processing work on identifying P.notoginseng.Such quick and effective extraction provides a powerful tool for analyzing P.notoginseng in the future.Sheng-ming SHI Yan-ze LIU Wen TAI Chang-qing CHEN Yu-qing ZHAO 2012Chinese Herbal Medicines2012,4,4:24

3Shear-wave splitting in the crust:Regional compressive stress from polarizations of fast shear-waves显示文摘When propagating through anisotropic rocks in the crust,shear-waves split into faster and slower components with almost orthogonal polarizations.For nearly vertical propagation the polarization of fast shear-wave(PFS)is parallel to both the strike of the cracks and the direction of maximum horizontal stress,therefore it is possible to use PFS to study stress in the crust.This study discusses several examples in which PFS is applied to deduce the compressive stress in North China,Longmenshan fault zone of east edge of Tibetan plateau and Yunnan zone of southeast edge of Tibetan plateau,also discusses temporal variations of PFS orientations of 1999 Xiuyan earthquake sequences of northeastern China.The results are consistent to those of other independent traditional stress measurements.There is a bridge between crustal PFS and the crustal principal compressive stress although there are many unclear disturbance sources.This study suggests the PFS results could be used to deduce regional and in situ principal compressive stress in the crust only if there are enough seismic stations and enough data.At least,PFS is a useful choice in the zone where there are a large number of dense seismic stations.Yuan Gao Yutao Shi Jing Wu Lingxue Tai 2012Earthquake Science2012,25,1:20
4Genetic aberration in primary hepatocellular carcinoma:correlation between p53 gene mutation and loss-of-heterozygosity on chromosome 16q21-q23 and 9p21-p23显示文摘To elucidate the molecular pathology underlying the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), we used 41 highly polymorphic microsatellite markers to examine 55 HCC and corresponding non-tumor liver tissues on chromosome 9, 16 and 17. Loss-of-heterozygosity (LOH) is observed with high frequency on chromosomal region 17p13 (36/55, 65%), 9p21-p23 (28/55, 51%), 16q21-q23 (27/55, 49%) in tumors. Meanwhile, microsatellite instability is rarely found in these microsatellite loci. Direct sequencing was performed to detect the tentative mutation of tumor suppressor genes in these regions: p53, MTS1/p16, and CDH1/E-cadherin. Within exon 5-9 of p53 gene, 14 out of 55 HCC specimens (24%) have somatic mutations, and nucleotide deletion of this gene is reported in HCC for the first time. Mutation in MTS1/pl6 is found only in one tumor case. We do not find mutations in CDH1/E-cadherin. Furthermore, a statistically significant correlation is present between p53 gene mutation and loss of chromosome region 16q21q23 and 9p21-p23, which indicates that synergism between p53 inactivation and deletion of 16q21-q23 and 9p21-p23 may play a role in the pathogenesis of HCC. 8Effects of nano-sized Ag reinforcing particulates on the microstructure of Sn-0.7Cu solder joints显示文摘Composite solders were prepared by mechanically dispersing different volumes of nano-sized Ag particles into the Sn-0.7Cu eutectic solder. The effects of Ag particle addition on the microstructure of Sn-0.7Cu solder joints were investigated. Besides, the effects of isothermal aging on the microstructural evolution in the interfacial intermetallic compound (IMC) layer of the Sn-0.7Cu solder and the composite solder reinforced with 1vol% Ag particles were analyzed, respectively. Experimental results indicate that the growth rate of the interfacial IMC layer in the Ag particles reinforced composite solder joint is much lower than that in the Sn-0.7Cu solder joint during isothermal aging. 10Ultra-light and flexible pencil-trace anode for high performance potassium-ion and lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Engineering design of battery configurations and new battery system development are alternative approaches to achieve high performance batteries. A novel flexible and ultra-light graphite anode is fabricated by simple friction drawing on filter paper with a commercial 8 B pencil.Compared with the traditional anode using copper foil as current collector, this innovative current-collector-free design presents capacity improvement of over 200% by reducing the inert weight of the electrode. The as-prepared pencil-trace electrode exhibits excellent rate performance in potassium-ion batteries(KIBs), significantly better than in lithium-ion batteries(LIBs), with capacity retention of 66% for the KIB vs. 28% for the LIB from 0.1 to 0.5 A g^(-1).
