2Direct evidence of transformation from smectite to palygorskite:TEM investigation显示文摘Palygorskite clays sampled from palygorskite clay deposits in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Many intergrowth phenomena of special ultra-microstructure between smectite and palygorskite were found. The ultra-microstructure indicates that palygorsite fiberrous crystals grow along (001) of primary smectite through structural transformation and decomposition of the primary smectite. According to field investigation and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses, the transformation mechanism and process can be described as: formation of smectite from basalt weathering deposited in localiza- tion basin; evaporation of lake water in aridity environment causing pH increase and concentra- tion of magnesium ion in interstice water of sediment smectite in the lake basin. Under alkaline conditions, magnesium ion occupied interlayer positions of the smectite. Because of the misfit between magnesium octahedral sheet and smectite layer, magnesium ion interaction with smec- tite layers caused the smectite to transform into palygorskite, and resulted in the formation of smectite and palygorskite complex particulates, and even smaller secondary smectite crystal plates. The transformation of smectite structure resulted in the formation of nanometer minerals with large specific surface area and excellent property of physics and chemistry in smec- tite-palygorskite mixing clay. 3Synthesis, characterization and size control of zerovalent iron nanoparticles anchored on montmorillonite显示文摘Zerovalent iron nanoparticles have been successfully synthesized using sodium borohydride solution reduction of ferric trichloride hexahydrate in the presence of montmorillonite as an effective protective reagent and support as well. A combination of characterizations reveals that with high monodispersity these obtained iron nanoparticles are well dispersed on clay surface, virginal from boron related impurity, and oxidation resistant well with iron core-iron oxide shell structure. The shell thickness of 3 nm remains almost invariable under ambient conditions. 6In - Depth Colloidal Dispersion Gels Improve Oil Recovery Efficiency显示文摘Daqing Oilfield has carried out the production of polymer flooding was promoted since in 1996. Presently, polymer flooding is very successful in several production plants of Daqing Oilfield, and getting into industrialization production. It has played a very important role in maintaining the oilfield stable production of over 50 million tons of oil. But the high permeability variation is serious, resulting in polymer production in some production wells recylingly and production concentration increasing slowly, which adversely affects polymer flooding efficiency. Chlloid dispersion gels (CDG) is a unique in - depth permeability modification process. It can reduce in - depth reservoir permeability variation by moving into highly permeable, water saturated zones and providing high resistance to subsequent water injection in those zones, so that oil can be produced from tighter rock. So CDG can enlarge volumetric sweep, and improve oil recovery efficiency. 7EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT PROPERTIES ON THERMOELASTIC PROBLEMS WITH THERMAL RELAXATIONS显示文摘Based on the generalized thermoelasticity proposed by Green and Lindsay, the dynamic response of generalized thermoelastic problems with temperature-dependent material properties is investigated. The governing equations are formulated and found to be nonlinear because of the temperature-dependence of properties. Owing to the nonlinearity of the governing equations, the finite element method is resorted to for solution. The results obtained show that the temperature-dependent properties influence the variables considered by reducing their magnitudes. 8Structural Evolvement of Heating Treatment of Mg/AI-LDH and Preparation of Mineral Mesoporous Materials显示文摘Although hydrotalcite, or layered double hydroxides (LDHs), is not a common mineral, it is an important material that can be easily synthesized in laboratory. In this study, structural evolvement and BET surface area changes of heat treated Mg/Al-LDH is evaluated by XRD, TEM and N2-BET analyses. The results indicate that the magnesium-aluminum LDH with carbonate as interlayer anion, periclase-like oxides was formed at temperatures of 400-800℃. Meanwhile, 2-3 nanometer mesoporous were formed during decomposition of LDH. However, the heat treated samples still preserve the morphology of the original LDH plates. Periclase-like formed from LDH heat treatment may re-hydrolyze and recover the structure of LDH. However, crystallinity of the recovered LDH is lower than that of the original LDH. This heat treatment will result in formation of (Mg, Al)-oxide nano-crystals and nanopores among the nano-crystals. When heating temperature exceeds 1000, the periclase-like (Mg, Al)-oxide is transformed into a composite with periclase (MgO) and spinel phases. The periclase can be re-hydrolyzed and dissolved in HCl solution. After acid treatment, the sample with a high surface area is composed of spinel nano-crystals and nanopores among them. 11OR^His, a Natural Variant of OR, Specifically Interacts with Plastid Division Factor ARC3 to Regulate Chromoplast Number and Carotenoid Accumulation显示文摘Chromoplasts are colored plastids that synthesize and store massive amounts of carotenoids.Chromoplast number and size define the sink strength for carotenoid accumulation in plants.However,nothing is known about the mechanisms controlling chromoplast number.Previously,a natural allele of Orange(OR),OR^His,was found to promote carotenoid accumulation by activating chromoplast differentiation and increasing carotenoid biosynthesis,but cells in orange tissues in melon fruit and cauliflower OR mutant have only one or two enlarged chromoplasts.In this study,we investigated an OR^His variant of Arabidopsis OR,genetically mimicking the melon OR^His allele,and found that it also constrains chromoplast number in Arabidopsis calli.Both in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrate that OR^His specifically interacts with the Membrane Occupation and Recognition Nexus domain of ACCUMULATION AND REPLICATION OF CHLOROPLASTS 3(ARC3),a crucial regulator of chloroplast division.We further showed that OR^His interferes with the interaction between ARC3 and PARALOG OF ARC6(PARC6),another key regulator of chloroplast division,suggesting a role of OR^His in competing with PARC6 for binding to ARC3 to restrict chromoplast number.Overexpression or knockout of ARC3 in Arabidopsis OR^His plants significantly alters total carotenoid levels.Moreover,overexpression of the plastid division factor PLASTID DIVISION 1 greatly enhances carotenoid accumulation.These division factors likely alter carotenoid levels via their influence on chromoplast number and/or size.Taken together,our findings provide novel mechanistic insights into the machinery controlling chromoplast number and highlight a potential new strategy for enhancing carotenoid accumulation and nutritional value in food crops.Tianhu Sun Hui Yuan Cheng Chen Deena K.Kadirjan-Kalbach Michael Mazourek Katherine W.Osteryoung Li Li 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,6:4
12Comparative transcriptome analyses shed light on carotenoid production and plastid development in melon fruit显示文摘Carotenoids,such asβ-carotene,accumulate in chromoplasts of various fleshy fruits,awarding them with colors,aromas,and nutrients.The Orange(CmOr)gene controlsβ-carotene accumulation in melon fruit by posttranslationally enhancing carotenogenesis and repressingβ-carotene turnover in chromoplasts.Carotenoid isomerase(CRTISO)isomerizes yellow prolycopene into red lycopene,a prerequisite for further metabolism intoβ-carotene.We comparatively analyzed the developing fruit transcriptomes of orange-colored melon and its two isogenic EMS-induced mutants,low-β(Cmor)and yofi(Cmcrtiso).The Cmor mutation in low-βcaused a major transcriptomic change in the mature fruit.In contrast,the Cmcrtiso mutation in yofi significantly changed the transcriptome only in early fruit developmental stages.These findings indicate that melon fruit transcriptome is primarily altered by changes in carotenoid metabolic flux and plastid conversion,but minimally by carotenoid composition in the ripe fruit.Clustering of the differentially expressed genes into functional groups revealed an association between fruit carotenoid metabolic flux with the maintenance of the photosynthetic apparatus in fruit chloroplasts.Moreover,large numbers of thylakoid localized photosynthetic genes were differentially expressed in low-β.CmOR family proteins were found to physically interact with light-harvesting chlorophyll a–b binding proteins,suggesting a new role of CmOR for chloroplast maintenance in melon fruit.This study brings more insights into the cellular and metabolic processes associated with fruit carotenoid accumulation in melon fruit and reveals a new maintenance mechanism of the photosynthetic apparatus for plastid development.Noam Chayut Hui Yuan Yuval Saar Yi Zheng Tianhu Sun Xuesong Zhou Anna Hermanns Elad Oren Adi Faigenboim Maixia Hui Zhangjun Fei Michael Mazourek Joseph Burger Yaakov Tadmor Li Li 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:3

14Evidence from pseudomorphous β-quartz phenocryst for decompression of rock-forming and ore-forming processes in Shapinggou porphyry Mo deposit显示文摘The Shapinggou porphyry molybdenum(Mo) deposit, located in Jinzhai County, Anhui Province, China, is the largest in the Qinling-Dabie Mo Metallogenic Belt. The intrusive rocks in the Shapinggou Mo ore district formed in the Yanshanian can be divided into two stages based on zircon U-Pb dating and geochemical features. This study focuses on the late stage intrusions(quartz syenite and granite porphyry), which are closely genetically related to molybdenum mineralization. Petrographic observations identified two quartz polymorphs in the quartz syenite and granite porphyry, which were derived from the same magmatic sources and similar evolutionary processes. The quartzes were identified as a xenomorphic β-quartz within quartz syenite, while the quartz phenocrysts within the granite porphyry were pseudomorphous b-quartz, characterized by a hexagonal bipyramid crystallography. The pseudomorphous b-quartz phenocrysts within the granite porphyry were altered from b-quartz through phase transformation. These crystals retained b-quartz pseudomorph. Combined with titanium-inzircon thermometry, quartz phase diagrams, and granitic Q-Ab-Or-H_2O phase diagrams, it is suggested that the quartz syenite and granite porphyry were formed under similar magmatic origins, including similar depths and magmatic crystallization temperatures. However, the β-quartz within quartz syenite indicated that the crystallization pressure was greater than 0.7 GPa, while the original b-quartz within the granite porphyry was formed under pressures between 0.4 and 0.7 GPa. The groundmass of the granite porphyry which formed after the phenocryst indicated a crystallizing pressure below 0.05 GPa. This indicates that the granite porphyry was formed under repetitive and rapid decompression. The decompression was significant as it caused the exsolution of the ore-forming fluids, and boiling and material precipitation during the magmatic-fluid process. The volumetric difference during the phase transformation from b-quartz to β-quartz caused extensive fracturing on the granite porphyry body and the wall rocks. As the main ore-transmitting and ore-depositing structures, these fractures benefit the hydrothermal alteration and stockwork-disseminated mineralization of the porphyry deposit. It is considered that the pseudomorphous β-quartz phenocrysts of the porphyritic body are metallogenic indicators within the porphyry deposits. 16Nonlocal thermoelastic analysis of a functionally graded material microbeam显示文摘In extreme heat transfer environments, functionally graded materials(FGMs)have aroused great concern due to the excellent thermal shock resistance. With the development of micro-scale devices, the size-dependent effect has become an important issue. However, the classical continuum mechanical model fails on the micro-scale due to the influence of the size-dependent effect. Meanwhile, for thermoelastic behaviors limited to small-scale problems, Fourier's heat conduction law cannot explain the thermal wave effect. In order to capture the size-dependent effect and the thermal wave effect, the nonlocal generalized thermoelastic theory for the formulation of an FGM microbeam is adopted in the present work. For numerical validation, the transient responses for a simply supported FGM microbeam heated by the ramp-type heating are considered.The governing equations are formulated and solved by employing the Laplace transform techniques. 17Transformation relationship among different magnetic minerals within loess-paleosol sediments of the Chinese Loess Plateau显示文摘The dominant magnetic minerals and carriers of magnetic signals within the Chinese Loess Plateau are magnetite, maghemite, hematite, and goethite. In this study, we investigated the provenance and evo- lution of magnetic minerals during loess pedogenesis, using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and optical and electron microscopy, including field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and high- resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Our results reveal that single- and multiphase mineral assemblages among magnetic minerals in the loess-paleosol sequence have been formed. Partial oxidation of coarse eolian magnetite has occurred in the desert source area and the oxidation degree is enhanced after deposition of the dust upon the Chinese Loess Plateau. This mode of origin resulted in a microtexture consisting of an inner magnetite core surrounded by a hematite rim, and strongly affected the magnetic characteristics of the loess. Goethite coexists with hematite in the loess and paleosol, and nanometer-scale hematite is formed upon goethite rims via dehydration. 19Multi-strategy engineering greatly enhances provitamin A carotenoid accumulation and stability in Arabidopsis seeds显示文摘Staple grains with low levels of provitamin A carotenoids contribute to the global prevalence of vitamin A deficiency and therefore are the main targets for provitamin A biofortification.However,carotenoid stability during both seed maturation and postharvest storage is a serious concern for the full benefits of carotenoid biofortified grains.In this study,we utilized Arabidopsis as a model to establish car-otenoid biofortification strategies in seeds.We discovered that manipulation of carotenoid biosynthetic activity by seed-specific expression of Phytoene synthase(PSY)increases both provitamin A and total carotenoid levels but the increased carotenoids are prone to degradation during seed maturation and storage,consistent with previous studies of provitamin A biofortified grains.In contrast,stacking with Orange(OR^(His)),a gene that initiates chromopl ast biogenesis,dramatically enhances provitamin A and total carotenoid content and stability.Up to 65-and 10-fold increases of β-carotene and total car-otenoids,res pectively,with provitamin A carotenoids composing over 63%were observed in the seeds containing OR^(His) and PSY.Co-expression of Homogen tisate geranylgeranyl transferase(HGGT)with OR^(His) and PSY further increases carotenoid accumulation and stability during seed maturation and storage.Moreover,knocking-out of B-carotene hydroxylase 2(BCH2)by CRISPR/Cas9 not only potentially facilitates β-carotene accumulation but also minimizes the negative effect of carotenoid over production on seed germi nation.Our findings provide new insights into various processes on carotenoid accu-mulation and stability in seeds and establish a multiplexed strategy to simultaneously target carotenoid biosynthesis,turnover,and stable storage for carotenoid biofortification in crop seeds.Tianhu Sun Qinlong Zhu Ziqing Wei Lauren AOwens Tara Fish Hyojin Kim Theodore W.Thannhauser Edgar B.Cahoon Li Li 2021aBIOTECH2021,2,3:2
