An analysis on the evolvement processes of lake eutrophication and their characteristics of the typical lakes in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River显示文摘According to the study on the aquatic environment of the typical lakes in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River, lake eutrophication is a process in which the lake ecosystem degenerates, resulting in the deterioration of the water quality due to the enrichment of the nutrients. Moreover, the succession of lake ecosystem and change of water quality both couple well with the evolvement of tro- phic state. Then the conceptual model is mentioned and ten lake states are classified. Based on these, the authors analyzed the eutrophication processes of the typical lakes in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River. The large lakes with taking in - send- ing out water typical of Poyang Lake evolve from State 1 before the 1980s into State 2 after the 1980s, the large and medium lakes typical of Taihu Lake evolve from State 1-2 in the 1960s into State 8 in the 1980s then into State 9 in the 1990s, the medium and small shallow lakes typical of Honghu Lake evolve from State 1 in the 1960s into State 2 after the 1980s and the small city (suburban) lakes typical of Donghu Lake evolve from State 2 in the 1960s into State 9 after the 1970s. Further, the 1980s is the key con- version period of the lakes of various types typical of Poyang Lake, Honghu Lake and Taihu Lake con- verting into mesotrophic state, the 1990s is that of Taihu Lake into eutrophic state and the 1970s is thatof the small city (suburban) lakes typical of Donghu Lake into eutrophic state. The series of nutrient evolvement of different typical lakes are similar, but the processes are not synchronous, which is related to the various human and natural driving mechanisms in lake basins.CHENG Xiaoying1,2,3 & LI Shijie1 1. 2Comparison and significance of specific and non-specific cellular immunity in patients with chronic hepatitis B caused by infection with genotypes B or C of hepatitis B virus显示文摘The present study was designed to investigate possible relationships between the genotypes of hepatitis B virus(HBV) and the HBV-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte(CTL) responses.HBV genotypes,HBV specific CTL HBV DNA and other markers of HBV infection were determined in 138 patients with chronic hepatitis B.The results showed that the patients infected with genotype C(n=62) had a significantly lower HBV-specific CTL response than those who were infected with HBV genotype B(P<0.01).HBV DNA titer was higher in patients infected with HBV genotype C than in those infected with HBV geno-type B(P<0.01).Both alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and total bilirubin(TBIL) were higher in HBV genotype C infected patients than in those infected with genotype B(P<0.01 and <0.05,respectively).These results suggest that compared with CHB patients infected with HBV genotype B,the higher HBV DNA level and more severe liver damages in the patients infected with genotype C of HBV may be associated with genotype C of the virus.GU XiBing,YANG XiaoJuan,WANG Dong,HUA Zhong,WU HangYuan,CHEN HaoKun,XU YueQin & LU ZhongHua Wuxi Hospital for Infectious Diseases,Wuxi 214005,China 2009Science China(Life Sciences)2009,52,8:16

A NEW LARGE CAVITATION CHANNEL IN CHINA SHIP SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH CENTER显示文摘After about 10 years’ runing of the LCC(DTRC,USA) and the HYKAT(HSVA,Germany), another new large cavitation channel with low background noise is to be in operation in China Ship Scientific Research Center(CSSRC),Wuxi,China. The important specific properties of the channel are the large test section (2.0 m in height, 2.2 m in width and 10.5 m in length), the maximum speed of more than 15 m/s, the low turbulence level, the low background noise of the whole facility, togother with the new noise measurement system. So large scale models can be tested with only minor wall effects and at high Renolds numbers, and the pretentious acoustical measurements can be performed. This paper describes the features of the new channel and the first test results obtained during extensive calibration and validation.Wang Tian-kui, Lu Fang, Fan Xiao-bing, Shi Xiao-jun China Ship Scientific Research Center, Wuxi 214082, China 2003Journal of Hydrodynamics2003,15,4:8
Preparation and Characterization of Polymeric Microspheres Having Isotactic Poly(methacrylic acid) on Their Surfaces显示文摘A poly( tert -butyl methacrylate)(PBMA) macromonomer was synthesized by anionic polymerization with bis(2,6-di- t -butyl phenoxy) methyl aluminum [MeAl(ODBP)2] as the initiator and trimethylsilylmethacrylate(TMSMA) as the end capping agent in dry THF. Then, a poly(methacrylic acid)(PMAA) macromonomer was obtained by means of hydrolysis reaction from the PBMA macromonomer in the presence of hydrochloric acid. The structures of the PBMA macromonomer were characterized by using 1H NMR. It was found that the resulted PBMA macromonomer has highly isotactic properties and the PMAA macromonomer has an end vinyl group on per polymer chain. The monodisperse polymeric microspheres, which consisted of polystyrene cores and PMAA branches on their surfaces, were prepared by the dispersion copolymerization of styrene with the PMAA macromonomer in an ethanol/water mixed solvent. It was found that the concentration of the PMAA macromonomer would affect the microsphere formation, the morphology and its size in the copolymerization system.CHEN Ming-qing 1** , LIU Xiao-ya 1, YANG Cheng 1 and AKASHI Mitsuru 21. 8Effects of tide-surge interaction and wave set-up/set-down on surge: case studies of tropical cyclones landing China's Zhe-Min coast显示文摘Storm surge along the China's Zhe-Min coast is addressed using the tightly coupled surge model of ADCIRC+SWAN.In this study,we primarily focus on the effects of surge-tide interaction and wave set-up/set-down.And the influences of intensity and landing moment of tropical cyclone(TC)are also presented. The results show that:water elevation without considering tide-surge interaction tends to be underestimated/overestimated when TC lands during astronomical low/high tide;tide-surge coupling effect is more pronounced north of TC track(more than 0.7 m in our cases);irrelevant to TC's intensity, wave set-up south of TC track is negligible because the depth-related wave breaking doesn't occur in water body blown towards open seas.Qingyong Wuxi Jiachun Li Bingchuan Nie 2018Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2018,8,3:3

Energy dispersion of complex non-isolated vortices显示文摘Energy dispersion is a fundamental scientific problem in the study of natural disasters such as typhoons, heavy rain and earthquakes. The problem has been addressed by both multi-discipline research and forecast studies. The dynamics of isolated circular vortex energy dispersion have been solved. However, the disastrous results of typhoons and heavy rain often occur due to non-isolated circular vortices, the dynamics of which are explored in this paper. The energy dispersion characteristics of non-isolated vortices with complex structural patterns are examined using a linearized nondivergent barotropical vorticity equation model. In the initial field, a tropical cyclone (TC) vortex and a meso-scale vortex coexist, forming a complex structural pattern. An analytic solution based on a Fourier transform and simulations using a two-dimensional model show the following. (1) A wave train of TC-G-D may be created by the energy dispersion where the line connecting the three member centers of the wave train is parallel to the x axis in the case of an initial TC vortex without a meso-scale vortex. (2) A wave train of TC-G-D may also be created by energy dispersion. However, the line connecting the three member centers of the wave train would no longer be parallel to the x axis. Instead, they would form a triangle in the presence of the initial TC vortex with the meso-scale vortex. (3) There is a nonlinear relationship between the initial intensity of the meso-scale vortex and the base angle of the triangle. These results have the potential to be applied in the field of typhoon forecasting.LUO ZheXian 1,2 1 Key Laboratory of Meteorological Disaster of Ministry of Education, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Nanjing 210044, China 2 Wuxi Research Center of Environmental Science and Technology, Wuxi 214031, China 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,25:3

Non-linear acoustic radiation by an underwater vibrating spherical shell显示文摘This paper deals with the non-linear propagation of sound waves radiated by a thin spherical shell vibrating in ideal lluid. Non-linear sound field is obtained by the method of renormalization proposed by Kelly and Nayfeh. Considering the acoustic load, we use Junger and his cooperators’ spherical function expan8ion to obtain the structural response of the spherical shell. By combining both of the above methods, the structural response, the waveshape before the formation of shock wave and the first two order waves (including the 1st and 2nd harmonics, sum and difference frequency waves) are calculated respectively. They vary with frequency, distance and directions. Through the comparison of the above results with linear theoretical olles1 we analyse the rules of generation and propagation of non-linear waves.SUN Yudong SHEN Shungen and CHENG Guanyi(China Ship Scientific Research Center, Wuxi 214082) 1996Chinese Journal of Acoustics1996,15,1:2
Enhanced production of lutein in heterotrophic Chlorella protothecoides by oxidative stress显示文摘The fast growing unicellular green microalgae Chlorella protothecoides has attracted interest as a promising organism for commercial production of a high-value carotenoid, lutein, by heterotrophic fermentation. Effects of two oxidant-forming reactive oxygen species (ROS) on the biomass concen-tration, and yield and content of lutein in batch culture of heterotrophic Chlorella protothecoides were investigated in this study. The addition of 0.1 mmol/L H2O2 and 0.01 mmol/L NaClO plus 0.5 mmol/L Fe2+ to the culture led to the generation of ·OH and enhanced the lutein content from 1.75 to 1.90 and 1.95 mg/g, respectively. The lutein content further increased to 1.98 mg/g when 0.01 mmol/L H2O2 and 0.5 mmol/L NaClO were added to generate 1O2. The maximum yield of lutein (28.5, 29.8 and 31.4 mg/L) and a high biomass concentration (15.0, 15.3 and 15.9 g/L) were also achieved through the above treatments. The results indicated that 1O2 could promote lutein formation and enhance lutein production in hetero-trophic Chlorella protothecoides. Moreover, 1O2 produced from the reaction of H2O2 and NaClO was more effective in enhancing lutein production and reducing biomass loss than ·OH from the reaction of H2O2 or NaClO plus Fe2+.WEI Dong1, CHEN Feng2, CHEN Gu1, ZHANG XueWu1, LIU LongJun1 & ZHANG Hao3 1 College of Light Industry and Food Sciences, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou 510640, China 2 School of Biological Sciences, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, China 3 College of Food Sciences, Jiangnan University, Wuxi 214122, China 2008Science China(Life Sciences)2008,51,12:2
Discussion on 'proportional solidification technology' for nodular iron casting method显示文摘The Proportional Solidification Technology believes that advancing the expansion of graphite precipitation is favorable for fully utilizing the expansion to offset the contraction and minimizing feeder size. But this author has proved that advancing the expansion is unfavorable for both feeding from the feeder and the self-feeding by expansion. On contrary, advancing the contraction is favorable for both kinds of feeding and favorable for avoiding shrinkage. The feeding efficiency of feeders cannot be increased by advancing the expansion of the casting, but can only be increased by accelerating cooling and contraction of the casting, and (or) by delaying the freezing of the feeders. In order to fully utilize the expansion to offset the contraction, it is a must to ensure that all inlets and outlets of a casting being poured are blocked rapidly at the moment when pouring is finished. It is pointed out that blocking at the earlier frozen feeder neck is unfavorable for both feeding from the feeder and the self-feeding by expansion; whereas blocking at earlier frozen ingates is favorable for both kinds of feeding.ZHOU Gen (Wuxi Diesel Engine Works, Jiefang Automobile Co. 17Shell effect and capture cross sections in the synthesis of superheavy nuclei显示文摘The shell effect is included in the improved isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamics model in which the shell correction energy of the system is calculated by using the deformed two-center shell model.A switch function is introduced to connect the shell correction energy of the projectile and the target with that of the compound nucleus during the dynamical fusion process. It is found that the calculated capture cross sections reproduce the experimental data quantitatively at the energy near the Coulomb barrier. The capture cross sections for reaction 8305 Br + 28028 Pb → 121878X are also calculated and discussed.DU SaiSai1,2,BIAN BaoAn1,2,3,LIU Min1,2,4,FENG ZhaoQing5,6 & ZHANG FengShou1,2,6 1 Key Laboratory of Beam Technology and Material Modification of Ministry of Education,College of Nuclear Science and Technology,Beijing Normal University,Beijing 100875,China 2 Beijing Radiation Center,Beijing 100875,China 3 School of Science,Jiangnan University,Wuxi 214122,China 4 College of Physics and Technology,Guangxi Normal University,Guilin 541004,China 5 Institute of Modern Physics,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Lanzhou 730000,China 6 Center of Theoretical Nuclear Physics,National Laboratory of Heavy Ion Accelerator of Lanzhou,Lanzhou 730000,China 2009Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2009,52,10:2
ANALYSIS OF DYNAMIC STABILITY OF SUBMERGED STRUCTURE显示文摘The submerged structure is basically a large three-dimensional structure of few statically redundant members. The structure is subjected to vertical dead and live loads in addition to the wave forces. An analysis of dynamic stability of the submerged structure without damping has been made by J. Thomas and Abbas (1980). In this paper the analyses of dynamic stability of the sumberged structure with damping are conducted. The case structure with damping is more complicated ’than the case without it. According to the principle of perturbation, a new model for dynamic stability calculation in consideration of damping effect is developed. In this paper, the formulas are deduced, the computational program is compiled, the practical examples are analysed, and this problem is solved very satisfactorily. The computational results show that the shape and value of the regions of dynamic instability can be changed significantly by damping. So only by considering damping can the property of dynamic stability of the submerged structure be reflected correctly.Qu Naisi , Yang Chunqiu and Tao Zhengguo Associate Professor, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, Engineer, Wuxi 706 Research Institute, Wuxi 1990China Ocean Engineering1990,5,2:2
THE BUBMAC METHOD-A NUMERICAL METHOD BUBBLE DYNAMICS IN VORTEX CORE显示文摘This paper presents a numerical method called BUBMAC method, whichis based on the Marker And Cell(MAC) technique,to numerically simulate the problemof bubble dynamics in vortex core. With the incorporation of the azimuthal velocity intothe momentum equation, the model takes into account the complete interaction betweenthe bubble dynamics and the vortex flow field. The three momentum equations (N-Seqs.) are solved numerically by the finite-difference methed, and the motion of bubblesurface is described by tracing massless marker particles distributed only on the surface ofthe bubble. With some important medifications to the original MAC method, the numeri-cal accuracy of the method is conisderably increased. The validation of the proposed BUB-MAC method is checked by comparing the numerical results with some available analyticalsolutions in the cases of spherical bubble evolution and with numerical results in the casesof nonspherical collapse of bubble and bubble evolution in tip-vortex core.
