| 1 | Epoxy asphalt concrete paving on the deck of long-span steel bridges显示文摘It is the first systematic research in the world on the composition design of epoxy asphalt concrete as pav- ing material. Material characteristics and service perform- ance of mixture, fatigue resistance characteristics of epoxy asphalt concrete by the fatigue test of complex beam have also been described. This research indicates that epoxy as-phalt concrete is a good type of paving material. Research results have been applied successfully in the paving of steel deck of the Second Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge (SNYRB). | 2 | Regional patterns of particulate spectral absorption in the Pearl River estuary显示文摘Spectral absorption coefficients of the total particulate, ap(l ), nonalgal particulate, ad(l ), and phyto-plankton pigment, aph(l ), in the Pearl River estuary and its vicinity waters were determined using the quantitative filter technique. The particulate absorption ap(443) ranged from 0.04 to 1.82 m-1, with the corresponding aph(443) ranging from 0.016 to 0.484 m-1. Two typical spectral patterns are found for the total particulate absorption. For the first typi-cal spectral pattern, the total particulate absorption spectra are similar to that of nonalgal particulate, with values of absorption coefficient decreasing with wavelength. In con-trast, for the second spectral pattern the spectral absorptions by total particulate are very similar to that of phytoplankton pigment. The spectral dependency of absorption by nonalgal particulate follows an exponential increase toward short wavelengths, with an average slope of 0.012±0.002 nm-1. The nonalgal absorption and the fraction of the nonalgal particulate absorption to the total particulate absorption exhibit a distinct trend of decreasing with salinity of the sur-face water. Phytoplankton pigment absorption exhibits a clear trend of increasing nonlinearly with chlorophyll a con-centration. The relationships between the phytoplankton pigment absorption and chlorophyll a concentration can be described by power law, with the determination coefficient r2 of 0.82. But only weak relationships between ap(l ) and chlorophyll a concentration are observed, with the determination coefficient r2 of 0.42. The relatively large scatter around ap(443) versus chl-a relationship would be attributed to the effects of loading of the nonalgal particulate absorption. Our analysis indicated that such relationships similar to that for Case Ⅰ waters can be applicable to optically complex Case Ⅱ waters if the effects caused by nonalgal are corrected. The chlorophyll-specific absorption coefficients of phytoplankton pigment are not constant, it increases with decreasing chlorophyll a level. | 3 | Cellular automata pedestrian movement model considering human behavior显示文摘The pedestrian movement is more complex than vehicular flow for the reason that people are more flexible and intelligent than car. Without the limit of 搇anes?pedestrian movement is loose and free. Furthermore, they are easily affected by other walkers as well as the environ-ment around. In this paper some special technique is intro-duced considering human behavior to make the rules more reasonable. By simulating the two-dimension pedestrian movement, the phase transition phenomena of pedestrian movement, including the up walkers moving from the bottom to the upper boundary and the right walkers moving from the left to the right boundary, are presented. | 4 | Arrangement models of alkylammonium cations in the interlayer of HDTMA^+pillared montmorillonites显示文摘The orientation of HDTMA+ in the interlayer of organic pillared montmorillonites prepared at different concentrations of HDTMA+ have been studied using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and theoretical calculation. A series of arrangement models of HDTMA+ in the interlayer of montmorillonite have been proposed as lateral-monolayer (LM), lateral-bilayer (LB), pseudotrilayer (PT), paraf-fin-type-monolayer (PM), paraffin-type-bilayer (PB). | 5 | A 2.8 Ma record of environmental evolution and tectoni events inferred from the Cuoe core in the middle of Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Based on a multi-proxy investigation into the deep core of the Cuoe Lake in the middle of Tibetan Plateau, a 2.8 Ma paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental evolution is recon- structed. The result of magnetic stratum indicates that the lake basin was formed at about 2.8 MaBP, while the multi-proxy analyses of lithology, grain size, magnetic susceptibility and geo- chemical elements reveal that there have been three major environmental evolution stages and at least two intensive uplifts of the Tibetan Plateau in the lake basin area, i.e. during 2.8—2.5 MaBP, the lake basin came into being as a result of the disaggregation of the planation surface and rapid rising of the Tibetan Plateau. During 2.5—0.8 MaBP, with gradual uplift of the Tibetan Plateau, the environment of this area was more effectively controlled by the climatic cycle of the alternative glacial-interglacial stages. | 6 | Climate as the dominant control on C_3 and C_4 plant abundance in the Loess Plateau: Organic carbon isotope evidence from the last glacial-interglacial loess-soil sequences显示文摘Abundance of C3 and C4 photosynthesis plants can be inferred relatively from stable carbon isotopic composi-tion of organic matter in soils. The samples from five sequences of the last glacial-interglacial loess-soil in the Chinese Loess Plateau have been measured for organic carbon isotopic ratios (d 13Corg). The organic carbon isotope data show that relative abundance (or biomass) of C4 plants was increased ca. 40% for each sampling site from the last glacial maximum (LGM) to Holocene optimum, and increased southeastward on the Loess Plateau during both periods of LGM and Holocene. Statistic analyses on the steady maximum d 13Corg values of Holocene soils and modern climatic data from the Loess Plateau and Inner Mongolia indicate that the C4 plant abundance increases with increasing temperature and decreasing precipitation. The C4 plant abundance is related much closer with mean April tem-perature and precipitation than annual. These results lead us to deduce following conclusions. First, temperature is the major factor for control on variations in C4 plant abundance in the Loess Plateau from the last glacial to interglacial. In the absence of favorable temperature condition, both of low moisture and low atmospheric CO2 concentration are insufficient to drive an expansion of the C4 plants in the plateau. Second, d 13Corg in the loess-paleosol sequences, as a proxy of the relative abundance of C4 plants in the Loess Plateau, could not be used as an indicator of changes in the summer monsoon intensity unless the tem-perature had changed without great amplitude. | 7 | Transgene inheritance and quality improvement by expressing novel HMW glutenin subunit (HMW-GS) genes in winter wheat显示文摘The expression vector pBPC30, which carries the high molecular weight glutenin subunit (HMW-GS) 1Dx5 and 1Dy10 genes, was transferred into hexaploid winter wheat cv. Jinghua No. 1, Jing411 and Jingdong No. 6 ex-plants of immature embryos and immature inflorescence by particle bombardment. A large number of resistant trans-genic plants were obtained under the selection of herbicide bialaphos or phosphinothricin (PPT). Confirmed transgenic plants of T0 generation showed successful integration of HMW-GS genes and bar gene into the wheat genome. T1 generation of transgenic plants can resist 20150 mg/L PPT. Protein analysis of T2 seed by SDS-PAGE showed that HMW-GS 1Dx5 and 1Dy10 genes were well expressed in offspring seed of transgenic lines by co-expression with or substitution of endogenous 1Dx2 or 1Dy10. In one transgenic line, TG3-74, a new protein band between endogenous pro-tein subunits 7 and 8 (marked as 8*) of glutenin appeared, but endogenous subunit 8 (encoded by 1By8 gene) was ab-sent. Analysis of gluten rheological quality on seed proteins of 102 T3 plants showed that the sedimentation value of 5 transgenic lines (44.249.0 mL) was remarkably improved, 59.6%64.3% higher than that of wild type Jinghua No. 1 and Jingdong No. 6, similar to bread wheat Cheyenne (48.0 mL). Analysis of dough rheological properties of transgenic lines showed that the dough stable time of 5 transgenic lines range from 16 to 30 min, whereas the dough stable time of wild type was only between 37 min. | 8 | Characteristics of pCO_(2) in surface water of the Bering Abyssal Plain and their effects on carbon cycle in the western Arctic Ocean显示文摘Characteristics of the pCO2 distribution in surface water of the Bering Abyssal Plain and their relationships with the ambient hydrological conditions were discussed using variations of the partial pressure of CO2 in surface water of the Bering Abyssal Plain and the Chukchi Sea. Data in this study are from a field investigation during the First Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition in 1999. Compared to the high productivity in the Bering Continental Shelf, much lower levels of chlorophyll a were observed in the Bering Abyssal Plain. The effect of hydrological factors on the pCO2 distribution in surface seawater of the Plain in summer has become a major driving force and dominated over biological factors. The Plain also presents a High Nutrient Low Chlorophyll (HNLC). In addition, the pCO2 distribution in the Bering Abyssal Plain has also been found to be influenced from the Bering Slope Current which would transform to the Anadyr Cur- rent when it inflows northwestward over the Plain. The Anadyr Current would bring a high nutrient water to the western Arctic Ocean where local nutrients are almost depleted in the surface water during the summer time. Resupplying nutrients would stimulate the growth of phytoplankton and enhance capacity of absorbing atmospheric CO2 in the surface water. Otherwise, in the Bering Sea the dissolved inorganic carbon brought from freshwater are not deposited down to the deep sea water but most of them would be transported into the western Arctic Ocean by the Alaska Coastal Current to form a carbon sink there. | 9 | ^40Ar/^39Ar dating of Daqingshan thrust显示文摘The Daqingshan thrust system, to the south of the Shiguai Mesozoic basin, is a complex system of top-to- the-north thrusting tectonic sheets. The thrust system has a complicated evolution due to multi-stage thrusting. In order to date the thrusting events, syntectonic muscovite and bio-tite grains are respectively analyzed with normal 40Ar/39Ar dating and laser 40Ar/39Ar dating, which yield 2 isochron ages, i.e. 193.74 3.88 Ma and 121.6 1.6 Ma. These ages suggest that faults within the Daqingshan thrust system formed dur-ing 2 stages of thrusting, one the early Indosinian and the other the late Yanshanian. The isotopic dating is consistent with field geological relations. Indosinan deformation is evi-denced by top-to-the-north thrusting, with the occurrence of a series of large-scale east-west trending thrust faults and folds, while the Yanshanian thrusting is characterized by top-to-the-NNW thrusting. | 10 | The input/removal rates of size-fractionated ^210Po in the Jiulongjiang estuary and its implications显示文摘The geochemical behaviors of dissolved (<0.4 mm), low molecular weight (<10 kDa) and colloidal (10 kDa- 0.4 mm) 210Po in surface waters from the Jiulongjiang estuary were examined and the input/removal rates of different 210Po species were estimated. Both dissolved and low molecular weight 210Po were considerably removed during estuarine mixing. However, colloidal 210Po was removed only at low salinity regions (S <15) but had input behavior at high salin-ity surface waters (S >15). The input/removal rates of three species indicate that 210Po was removed rapidly in the Jiu-longjiang estuary. The discrepancy of input/removal rates between 210Po species suggests different geochemical be-havior and a dynamic transformation between 210Po species. | 11 | A Quantum Chemistry Study of Inhibition Properties of Imidazole and Its Derivatives on Iron Surface Corrosion显示文摘The geometries of imidazole and its derivatives were respectively optimized by using ab initio method, and the molecular orbital energy levels and the charge densities were obtained for their optimum geometries. The frontier orbital energy levels, and the net charges of N (1) atom and the imidazole ring of those molecules were obtained with ab initio and SCC-DV-Xα methods. It was found that the inhibition properties of those compounds change with the highest occupied molecular orbital energy levels, and the net charges of N(1) atom. We took four iron atoms on the crystal plane (100) of α-iron as the surface which was used to study the adsorption towards the inhibitors. The adsorption models of the inhibitor to be adsorbed on the Fe-cluster surface were optimized with SCC-DV-Xα method. It turns out that the most favorable model is that the inhibitor molecule is adsorbed on the Fe-cluster surface in an inclined state. | 13 | Distinguishing malignant from normal stomach tissues and its in vivo, in situ measurement in operating process using FTIR Fiber-Optic techniques显示文摘Gastric tissue samples were studied using mid-IR fiber-optic attenuated total reflectance (ATR) spectroscopy. FTIR spectra of 90 tissue samples from 48 patients, including 32 normal and 58 malignant tissue samples, were chosen as examples. Malignancy was usually characterized by the absence of CH and C=O bands, a weak amide II band near 1545 cm-1, a shift of the amide I band to lower wave number, a decrease in the ~1450 cm-1 peak to less than the~1400 cm-1 peak. Subtraction spectra indicate that the amide I and amide II bands of normal and malignant tissues have larger differences in peak positions and relative intensities. The statistical analysis results confirm this conclusion. The results indicate that FTIR fiber optic techniques provide important information about cancerous tissue of the stomach, which can be used to differentiate the malignant tissue from the normal tissue. Based on the above results we successfully realize the detection of the tumor tissues of digestive tract in vivo and in situ. The X-ray diffraction results show that the solutions formed in the concentration ranges of x≤0.1 5 and x≥0.40 are of bcc structure of iron and fcc structure of copper. respectively. For the region in between.however, the alloy obtained is a mixture of bcc plus fcc phases. The Mossbauer spectrum of the solid solution of a single phase could be fitted by two sub-spectra with hyperfine magnetic fields of 200 and 250 kOe. respectively. suggesting that there must exist two forms of coordination in the solution. | 17 | Origin and evolution of new exons in the rodent zinc fingerprotein 39 gene显示文摘The origin of new structures and functions is an important process in evolution. In the past decades, we have obtained some preliminary knowledge of the origin and evo- lution of new genes. However, as the basic unit of genes, the origin and evolution of exons remain unclear. Because young exons retain the footprints of origination, they can be good materials for studying origin and evolution of new exons. In this paper, we report two young exons in a zinc finger protein gene of rodents. Since they are unique sequences in mouse and rat genome and no homologous sequences were found in the orthologous genes of human and pig, the young exons might originate after the divergence of primates and rodents through exonization of intronic sequences. Strong positive selection was detected in the new exons between mouse and rat, suggesting that these exons have undergone significant functional divergence after the separation of the two species. On the other hand, population genetics data of mouse dem- onstrate that the new exons have been subject to functional constraint, indicating an important function of the new exons in mouse. | 18 | Giant magneto-impedance and low-frequency magneto-resistance effect in NiFeB coated composite wires显示文摘Composite wires of 100 μm insulated CuBewire plated with a layer of NiFeB were produced by elec-troless-deposition, and their magnetic properties were stud-led. The results showed that a good magneto-impedance (MI)effect can be obtained at relatively low frequency. The largestMI ratio (△Z/Z)max obtained is 250% at 500 kHz. Mag-neto-resistance effect was also observed at low frequency,with the (△R/R)max observed to be -8.5% at 540 Hz and 38.7% at 10 kHz.
