1Activation of STAT3 signaling in human stomach adenocarcinoma drug-resistant cell line and its relationship with expression of vascular endothelial growth factor显示文摘AIM: To investigate the difference in activation of STAT3signaling between two human stomach adenocarcinoma cell lines: 5-fluorouracil resistant cell line and its parental cell line, and to evaluate its relationship with the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF).METHODS: Western blot and electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) were used to detect the expression of phospho-STAT3 protein and constitutive activation of STAT3in two human stomach adenocarcinoma cell lines, 5-fluorouracil resistant cell line SGC7901/R and its parental cell line SGC7901, respectively. The mRNA expression of VEGF was analysed by semi-quantitative RT-PCR. The expressive intensity of VEGF protein was measured by immunocytochemistry.RESULTS: The expressions of phospho-STAT3 protein and constitutive activation of ST AT3 between two human stomach adenocarcinoma cell lines were different.Compared with the parental cell line SGC7901, the STAT3-DNA binding activity and the expressive intensity of phospho-STAT3 protein were lower in the drug-resistant cell line SGC7901/R. The expression levels of VEGF mRNA and its encoded protein were also decreased in drugresistant cell line.CONCLUSION: Over-expression of VEGF may be correlated with elevated STAT3 activation in parental cell line. 3The remote sensing inversion theory of offshore oil slick thickness based on a two-beam interference model显示文摘Offshore oil slicks are significant for both the monitoring of marine spill accidents and the detection of marine oil resources.The use of remote sensing technology to detect the thickness of oil slicks is a major area of research.The reflected light from oil slicks changes with the thickness of the oil.This is the theoretical basis of research on optical remote sensing of offshore oil slicks.A two-beam interference model that considers the offshore oil slick as a flat plate has been developed in this study.A quantitative remote sensing model which describes a series of processes that use oil slick thickness and reflectance as variables is established.The use of the Fresnel equation to analyze parameters in the model indicated that the key property of the quantitative relationship between the oil slick thickness and reflectance was ultimately the disappearance or extinction of the oil slick.This model has been tested and verified by data from offshore oil slick spectral response experiments.Results showed that the oil slick thickness remote sensing model can be theoretically analyzed and is efficient.The research indicated that the major cause of variations in the spectral response as a function of oil slick thickness was the different light-scattering characteristics.These characteristics can be used in remote sensing applications to identify the different types of offshore oil slicks.The theoretical interpretation of each parameter in this model led to the development of a look-up table of the model parameters which will improve the efficiency of future offshore oil slick remote sensing.LU YingCheng TIAN QingJiu LI Xiang 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,5:10
4Decreased nitrous oxide emissions associated with functional microbial genes under bio-organic fertilizer application in vegetable fields显示文摘Bio-organic fertilizers enriched with plant growth-promoting microbes(PGPMs)have been widely used in crop fields to promote plant growth and maintain soil microbiome functions.However,their potential effects on N_(2)O emissions are of increasing concern.In this study,an in situ measurement experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of organic fertilizer containing Trichoderma guizhouense(a plant growth-promoting fungus)on soil N_(2)O emissions from a greenhouse vegetable field.The following four treatments were used:no fertilizer(control),chemical fertilizer(NPK),organic fertilizer derived from cattle manure(O),and organic fertilizer containing T.guizhouense(O+T,referring to bio-organic fertilizer).The abundances of soil N cycling-related functional genes(amoA)from ammonium-oxidizing bacteria(AOB)and archaea(AOA),as well as nirS,nirK,and nosZ,were simultaneously determined using quantitative PCR(qPCR).Compared to the NPK plot,seasonal total N_(2)O emissions decreased by 11.7%and 18.7%in the O and O+T plots,respectively,which was attributed to lower NH_(4)^(+)-N content and AOB amoA abundance in the O and O+T plots.The nosZ abundance was significantly greater in the O+T plot,whilst the AOB amoA abundance was significantly lower in the O+T plot than in the O plot.Relative to the organic fertilizer,bio-organic fertilizer application tended to decrease N_(2)O emissions by 7.9%and enhanced vegetable yield,resulting in a significant decrease in yield-scaled N_(2)O emissions.Overall,the results of this study suggested that,compared to organic and chemical fertilizers,bio-organic fertilizers containing PGPMs could benefit crop yield and mitigate N_(2)O emissions in vegetable fields.Yajun GENG Yiming YUAN Yingcheng MIAO Junzhang ZHI Mengyuan HUANG Yihe ZHANG Hong WANG Qirong SHEN Jianwen ZOU Shuqing LI 2021Pedosphere2021,31,2:7
5Experimental study on spectral responses of offshore oil slick显示文摘Using the seawater taken from Liaodong Bay and crude oil taken from Liaohe Oilfield,a laboratory experiment was designed to study the change of reflectance spectrum of artificial offshore oil slick with its thickness and to identify the spectrum ranges suitable for quantifying the thickness of the oil slick.During the experiment,crude oil was continuously dropped into the seawater to generate artificial oil slick with different thicknesses.After every drop of crude oil was added,reflectance spectrum of the oil slick was measured with a high resolution spectroradiometer(ASD FieldSpec Pro FR).The influence of oil slick thickness on its reflectance spectrum was explored through statistical analysis.The results show that the reflectance of oil slick changes marginally with oil slick thickness and higher than that of seawater in infrared band from 1150 to 2500 nm.This spectrum range can be practically used to distinguish oil slick from seawater.In the spectrum range from 400 to 1150 nm,the reflectance of oil slick decreases with its thickness.The negative power function is the best-fit function expressing the relationship between the reflectance and thickness.The spectral characteristics of oil slick are very distinct at 550 and 645 nm.They are the best wavelengths for monitoring the existence of offshore oil slick and estimating its thickness.LU YingCheng TIAN QingJiu WANG JingJing WANG XiangCheng QI XiaoPing 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,24:6
6Articulating China's Science and Technology:Knowledge Collaboration Networks Within and Beyond the Yangtze River Delta Megalopolis in China显示文摘In this paper, we reconsider the defining but often overlooked ‘hinge' function of megalopolises by analyzing how megalopolises have articulated national and international urban systems in the context of a globalizing knowledge economy. Taking the case of China's Yangtze River Delta(YRD) region, we particularly focus on knowledge circulation within and beyond the YRD region by analyzing the pattern and process of knowledge collaboration at different geographical scales during the 2004–2014 period. Results show that the structure of scientific knowledge collaboration as reflected by co-publications has been strongest at the national scale whereas that of technological knowledge collaboration as measured by co-patents has been strongest at the global scale. Despite this difference, the structure of both scientific and technological knowledge collaboration has been functionally polycentric at the megalopolitan scale but become less so at the national and global scales. The ‘globally connected but locally disconnected' pattern of Shanghai's external knowledge collaboration suggests that the gateway role of the YRD megalopolis in promoting knowledge collaboration at different geographical scales will take time before it is fully realized.LI Yingcheng Nicholas A.PHELPS 2018Chinese Geographical Science2018,28,2:5
7Evaluation of the viability and energy metabolism of canine pancreas graft subjected to significant warm ischemia damage during preservation by UW solution cold storage method显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the viability and energy metabolism of long warm ischemically damaged pancreas during preservation by the UW solution cold storage method. METHODS: The pancreas grafts subjected to 30-120 min warm ischemia were preserved by the UW solution cold storage method for 24 h. The tissue concentrations of adenine nudeotides (AN) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and total adenine nucleotides (TAN) were determined by using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and the viability of the pancreas gra~ was tested in the canine model of segmental pancreas autotransplantation. RESULTS: The functional success rates of pancreas grafts of groups after 30 min, 60 min, 90 min, 120 min of warm ischemia were 100%, 100%, 67.7%, 0%, respectively. There was an excellent correlation between the posttransplant viability and tissue concentration of ATP and TAN at the end of preservation. CONCLUSION: The UW solution cold storage method was effective for functional recovery of the pancreas suffering 60-min warm ischemia. 8Applicability and Prospect of China's Development Zone Model in Africa显示文摘Development zones have been an important spatial approach to promoting economic development since China's reform and opening-up. They have also been major contributors to the processes of China's industrialization and urbanization. Along with improvements in the worldwide industrial division of labor and the gradual implementation of China's development zones' Go Global strategy, it is necessary for Africa, a hot spot of global industrialization in recent years, to learn from China's development zone model. By attracting China's capital, technology and enterprises to Africa via Sino-African co-built development zones, a pattern of high complementarity and mutual development between China and Africa can be formed which does favor further improvement of the global industrial division of labor. In order to study the applicability and prospect of China's development zone model in Africa as per the above-mentioned international situation, this paper first sorts out the development course of China's development zones and discusses their roles in China's industrialization and urbanization. Subsequently, this paper analyzes the status quo of industrial development in Africa as a whole and the differences in industrial development between China and Africa, aiming to justify the timing of industrial transfer from China to Africa by constructing Sino-African co-built development zones. Lastly, this paper analyzes the current situation of six Sino-African co-built development zones by focusing on their operation modes, industry types and investment promotion models. In the authors' view, Sino-African co-built development zones can function as a new window of China-African cooperation, a new carrier of African industrialization, and a new engine of global industrial restructuring. 9Genes in the serotonin pathway are associated with bipolar affective disorder in a Han Chinese population显示文摘Serotonin plays an important role in mood regulation, but the involvement of serotonin pathway genes in the development of bipolar I disorder (BP-I), a mood disorder, is not clear. We selected 21 singlenucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within the HTR2A gene, 8 within the SLC6A4 gene and 23 within the TPH2 gene for genotyping using the GoldenGate genotyping assay. A total of 375 patients with BP-I and 475 normal controls were recruited. Two out of 21 SNPs (rs1475196 and rs9567747) in the HTR2A gene and 1/23 SNPs (rs17110566) in the TPH2 gene were significantly associated with BP-I, both genotype-wise and allele-wise. Furthermore, a specific haplotype in the HTR2A gene showed a significant association with BP-I. 113D-printing of integrated spheres as a superior support of phosphotungstic acid for deep oxidative desulfurization of fuel显示文摘Construction of catalysts with integral structure for oxidative reaction process is an essential promotion to catalysts in industrial application.In this work,a 3D printing method was employed to prepare 3D printed spheres(3D-PSs),followed by carbonization to form 3D carbon spheres(3D-CSs).Then,a 3D-CSs supported phosphotungstic acid(HPW/3D-CSs)was prepared for deep oxidative desulfurization.Compared with traditional powder catalysts,the as-prepared catalyst is easy to be operated and separated from oil products.The supported catalyst possesses excellent catalytic performance and the removal of DBT,4-MDBT and 4,6-DMDBT in fuel oil,reaching^100%of sulfur removal.The effects of various experimental parameters on desulfurization efficiency were considered to optimize reaction conditions.Moreover,the catalyst shows excellent thermal and chemical stability,with no obvious decrease in desulfurization activity after 5 cycles.GC–MS analysis indicates DBT sulfone was the solely oxidized product of DBT.Jie Zhu Peiwen Wu Linlin Chen Jing He Yingcheng Wu Chao Wang Yanhong Chao Linjie Lu Minqiang He Wenshuai Zhu Huaming Li 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,6:2
12Fundamentals and applications of spin-decoupled Pancharatnam-Berry metasurfaces显示文摘Manipulating circularly polarized(CP)electromagnetic(EM)waves at will is significantly important for a wide range of applications ranging from chiral-molecule manipulations to optical communication.However,conventional EM devices based on natural materials suffer from limited functionalities,bulky configurations,and low efficiencies.Recently,Pancharatnam-Berry(PB)phase metasurfaces have shown excellent capabilities in controlling CP waves in different frequency domains,thereby allowing for multi-functional PB meta-devices that integrate distinct functionalities into single and flat devices.Nevertheless,the PB phase has intrinsically opposite signs for two spins,resulting in locked and mirrored functionalities for right CP and left CP beams.Here we review the fundamentals and applications of spin-decoupled metasurfaces that release the spin-locked limitation of PB metasurfaces by combining the orientation-dependent PB phase and the dimension-dependent propagation phase.This provides a general and practical guideline toward realizing spin-decoupled functionalities with a single metasurface for orthogonal circular polarizations.Finally,we conclude this review with a short conclusion and personal outlook on the future directions of this rapidly growing research area,hoping to stimulate new research outputs that can be useful in future applications.Yingcheng QIU Shiwei TANG Tong CAL Hexiu XU Fei DING 2021Frontiers of Optoelectronics2021,14,2:2
13Determining oil slick thickness using hyperspectral remote sensing in the Bohai Sea of China显示文摘Determining oil slick thickness plays an important role in assessing oil spill volume and its environmental impacts on the ocean.In this study,we used a Hyperion image of an oil spill accident area and seawater and fresh crude oil samples collected in the Bohai Sea of China.A well-controlled laboratory experiment was designed to simulate spectral responses to different oil slick thicknesses.Spectral resampling and normalization methods were used to reduce the differences in spectral reflectances between the experimental background seawater sample and real background seawater.Fitting the analysis with laboratory experimental data results showed a linear relationship between normalized oil slick reflectance and normalized oil slick thickness[20th band(R^(2)-0.92938,n=49,pB0.01),26th band(R^(2)=0.93806,n=49,pB0.01),29th band(R^(2)=0.93288,n=49,pB0.01)].By using these statistical models,we successfully determined the normalized oil slick thickness with the Hyperion image.Our results indicate that hyperspectral remote sensing technology is an effective method to monitor oil spills on water.The spectral ranges of visible green and red light were the optimal bands for estimating oil slick thickness in case 2 water.The high,stabilized spectral reflectance of background seawater will be helpful in oil slick thickness inversion.Yingcheng Lu Qingjiu Tian Xinyuan Wang Guang Zheng Xiang Li 2013International Journal of Digital Earth2013,6,1:2
