| 1 | Characterization of mitochondrial genome of Chinese wild mulberry silkworm, Bomyx mandarina(Lepidoptera:Bombycidae)显示文摘The complete mitochondrial genome of Chinese Bombyx mandarina(ChBm) was determined. The cir-cular genome is 15682 bp long, and contains a typical gene complement, order, and arrangement iden-tical to that of Bombyx mori(B.mori) and Japanese Bombyx mandarina(JaBm) except for two addi-tional tRNA-like structures:tRNASer(TGA)-like and tRNAIle(TAT)-like.All protein-coding sequences are initi-ated with a typical ATN codon except for the COI gene, which has a 4-bp TTAG putative initiator codon.Eleven of 13 protein-coding genes(PCGs) have a complete termination codon(all TAA), but the re-maining two genes terminate with incomplete codons. All tRNAs have the typical clover-leaf structures of mitochondrial tRNAs, with the exception of tRNASer(TGA)-like, with a four stem-and-loop structure. The length of the A+T-rich region of ChBm is 484 bp, shorter than those of JaBm(747 bp) and B.mori(494―499 bp).Phylogenetic analysis among B.mori, ChBm, JaBm, and Antheraea pernyi(Anpe) showed that B.mori is more closely related to ChBm than JaBm.The earliest divergence time estimate for B.mori-ChBm and B.mori-JaBm is about 1.08±0.18―1.41±0.24 and 1.53±0.20―2.01±0.26 Mya, respec-tively.ChBm and JaBm diverged around 1.11±0.16―1.45±0.21 Mya. | PAN MinHui1, YU QuanYou1, XIA YuLing1, DAI FangYin1, LIU YanQun2, LU Cheng1, ZHANG Ze1 & XIANG ZhongHuai1 1 Key Sericultural Laboratory of Agricultural Ministry, Southwest University, Chongqing 400716, China 2 College of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Shenyang Agricultural University, Shenyang 110161, China | 2008 | Science China(Life Sciences)2008,51,8: | 16 |
| 2 | Depolymerization of actin cytoskeleton is involved in stomatal closure-induced by extracellular calmodulin in Arabidopsis显示文摘Extracellular calmodulin (CaM) plays significant roles in many physiological proc-esses,but little is known about its mechanism of regulating stomatal movements. In this paper, whether CaM exists in the guard cell walls of Arabidopsis and whether depolymerization of actin cytoskeleton is involved in extracellular CaM-induced stomatal closing are investigated. It is found that CaM exists in guard cell walls of Arabidopsis, and its molecular weight is about 17 kD. Bioassay using CaM antagonists W7-agarose and anti-CaM serum shows that the endogenous extracellular CaM promotes stomatal closure and delays stomatal opening. The long radial actin filaments in guard cells undergo disruption in a time-dependent manner during exogenous CaM-induced stomatal closing. Pharmacological experiments show that depolymerization of ac-tin cytoskeleton enhances the effect of exogenous CaMinduced stomatal closing and polym-erization reduces the effect. We also find that exogenous CaM triggers an increase in [Ca2+]cyt of guard cells. If [Ca2+]cyt increase is blocked with EGTA, exogenous CaM-induced stomatal closure is inhibited. These results indicate that extracellular CaM causes elevation of [Ca2+]cyt in guard cells, subsequently resulting in disruption of actin filaments and finally leading to guard cells closure. | XIAO Yumei1, CHEN Yuling1,2, HUANG Rongfeng3, CHEN Jia1 & WANG Xue-chen1 1. | 3 | Distribution characteristics of terrestrial heat flow density in Jiyang depression of Shengli Oilfield, East China显示文摘Based on the geo-temperature data of 13 systematically continuous temperature log curves and 700 testing oil boreholes in Jiyang depression, Shengli Oilfield, and the measured thermal conductivities of 47 rock samples, the terrestrial heat flow densities of 114 boreholes of Jiyang depression and its surrounding areas are determined, including 13 of those data derived from systemically continuous temperature logging. The results show that Jiyang depression has a relatively high background heat flow with an average value (65.8 5.4) mW/m2. The lateral variation of heat flow in basin has negative correlation with basement depth. Moreover, heat flow of uplift areas with shallower basement is high, so are those of regions with volcanic rocks, and those of depression areas with deep basement are relatively low. The heat flow densities of different structural units of Jiyang depression can be summarized as follows: The average heat flow value of Zhanhua sag is (67.4 5.3) mW/m2, higher than that of the whole basin, that of Dongying sag is (66.0 6.1) mW/m2, and that of Chezhen sag is (65.1 3.7) mW/m2. It is apparent that these latter two values are approximate to the average value of the whole Jiyang depression, while the average value of Huimin sag is (63.65.0) mW/m2, lower than that of the whole basin. In fact, the basement depth and the distribution framework of uplift and depression areas are all controlled by the process of lithosphere extension. In addition, the distribution of volcanic rocks in basin is also relatively close to this extension geodynamic process. In summary, the distribution characteristics of terrestrial heat flow of Jiyang depression is determined by the Cenozoic tectono-thermal events of this region. | GONG Yuling1,2, WANG Liangshu1, LIU Shaowen1, LI Cheng1, HAN Yongbing1, LI Hua1, LIU Bo1 & CAI Jingong3 1. | 4 | Discovery of Cu-Zn,Cu-Sn intermetallic minerals and its significance for genesis of the Mianning-Dechang REE Metallogenic Belt,Sichuan Province,China显示文摘Mianning-Dechang Himalayan REE Metallogenetic Belt in Sichuan Province lies along the western margin of the Yangtze Craton. We have conducted detailed mineralogical studies on ore minerals collected from Maoniuping and Dalucao, the two largest deposits in the belt. With optical microscope, SEM/EDS, and EPMA, three rare intermetallic minerals, i.e., zinccopperite (Cu2Zn), Sn- bearing native copper, and Cu-bearing jupiter were found to occur in the main ore along with barite, fluorite, apatite, sulfide and bastnaesite. Since the conditions under which zinccopperite and Sn- bearing native copper formed are quite unique, finding of these minerals, for the first time in domestic REE deposits, has significant implications for the genesis of the ore deposits in which they occur. In comparison with Cu-Zn intermetallic minerals in other occurrences, we propose that the formation of this REE metallogenetic belt is associated with fast upwelling of the Himalayan magma from deep source. | XIE Yuling1, HOU Zengqian2, XU Jiuhua1, YUAN Zhongxin2, BAI Ge2 & LI Xiaoyu3 1.
