1Improving bubble-particle attachment during the flotation of low rank coal by surface modification显示文摘Based on the problems caused by many oxygen-containing functional groups and poor floatability on the surface of low rank coal,the characteristics of low rank coal were analyzed systematically by means of scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)techniques.The bubble-particle induction time was used to determine the characterization of the bubble-particle attachment,and the bubble-particle attachment of low rank coal modified by soaking the coal samples in an acid or alkaline solution was analyzed.The floatability of the modified coal surface was verified by flotation tests.The results show that the particle size of 0.125–0.074 mm of the coal sample exhibited better bubble-particle attachment characteristics.The small bubble,the larger approach velocity of bubble and the larger bubble deformation were more helpful to enhance the bubbleparticle attachment.For an acid solution,the smaller the p H was and the longer the soaking time was,the better the floatability of the coal sample and the higher the combustible material recovery were.The combustible material recovery of low rank coal was increased to 78.79%by soaking the sample in an acid solution of pH=0 for 180 min.On the contrary there was a best concentration for the alkaline solution.Haishan Hu Ming Li Lulu Li Xiuxiang Tao 2020International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2020,30,2:27
2Freezing osteoblast cells attached to hydroxyapatite discs and glass coverslips: Mechanisms of damage显示文摘Damage mechanisms for osteoblast cells (OBs) attached to hydroxyapatite (HA) discs and glass coverslips were comprehensively investigated. Cell-cell, cell-matrix interaction altered the cryobiological properties of cells. Attached cells were sub- ject to more severe mechanical damage than isolated cells because attached cells had larger contacting area with ice and the three dimensional movements of iso- lated cells made them more flexible than attached cells that could only deform in one dimension. Results showed that the viability of attached OB cells decreased significantly compared with the viability of isolated OB cells under the same cryo- preservation procedure. 3Expression, distribution and function of the focal adhesion kinase (pp125^(FAK)) during murine ectoplacental cone outgrowth in vitro显示文摘Mouse embryo implantation is a complex process that includes trophoblast cells derived from ectoplacental cone (EPC) adhesion to and migration through the extracellular matrix (ECM) of uterine endometrium and invasion into the decidua. At the time of implantation, fibronectin (FN) is abundant in the decidua and is distributed pericellularly around each individual stromal cell, and its receptor (integrin α-5β-1) expression on trophoblast populations is up-regulated. The focal adhesion kinase, a 125 ku protein tyrosine kinase (pp125 FAK), is tyrosine phosphorylated upon integrin engagement with its ECM ligand, and its tyrosine phosphorylation sites then serve as the binding sites which couple it with cellular proteins that contain Src SH2 or SH3 domains. Through these linkages, pp125 FAK may integrate multiple signals triggered by integrins. The model of EPC culture %in vitro% was used to study the expression, distribution and function of pp125 FAK during EPC outgrowth on FN. Results indicated that, pp125 FAK primarily expressed and distributed in cellular focal adhesions of the front edge of trophoblast outgrowth from EPC, and was localized in the peripheral region of the individual migrating trophblast cell; antibody or antisense oligodeoxynucleotide to pp125 FAK inhibited EPC attachment and outgrowth, as well as trophoblast cells spreading and migration. 4Oriented attachment(OA) mediated characteristic growth of Gd_2O_3 nanorods from nanoparticle seeds显示文摘Herein, we demonstrated the oriented attachment(OA) driven formation and characterization of Gd_2O_3 nanorods. The nanorods were synthesized via a surfactant free, inexpensive hydrothermal route and considering ~30 nm nanoparticles as the seed. While maintaining a cubic phase throughout the process, complete transformation of Gd_2O_3 nanoparticles to nanorods was found to occur at an elevated temperature(~180 oC) of the hydrothermal reaction. The elongated Gd_2O_3 nanostructures, as revealed from transmission electron microscopic imaging, possessed an average diameter of ~33 nm and an approximate length of 172 nm. From the kinetics of OA process, the activation energy of formation was estimated to be ~25 k J/mole. The existence of defect mediated radiative emission was ascertained from the asymmetric broadening of luminescence spectra. The defect emission arising from the Gd_2O_3 nanorods was nearly 1.4 times stronger than that of nanoparticles. 5Analytical method for the attitude stability of partially liquid filled spacecraft with flexible appendage显示文摘In this paper, the attitude stability of liquidfilled spacecraft with flexible appendage is investigated. The motion of liquid sloshing is modeled as the spherical pendulum, and the flexible appendage is approached by a linear shearing beam. Nonlinear dynamic equations of the coupled system are derived from the Hamiltonian. The stability of the coupled system was analyzed by using the energy-Casimir method, and the nonlinear stability theorem of the coupled spacecraft system was also obtained. Through numerical computation, the correctness of the proposed theorem is verified and the boundary curves of the stable region are presented. The increase of the angular velocity and flexible attachment length will weaken the attitude stability, and the change of the filled ratio of liquid fuel tank has a different influence on the stability of the coupled spacecraft, depending on the different conditions. 6The expression and function of VEGF at embryo implantation 'window' in the mouse显示文摘Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is an endothelial cell-specific mitogen that plays a critical role in angiogenesis. Recent reports indicated that VEGF was closely involved in embryo implantation and embryonic vasculogenesis. However, very little information is available about the detailed expression and function of VEGF at implantation 'window'. In this work, VEGFs were primarily present on uterine epithelial cell monolayer and blasto-cysts including the outgrew trophoblasts at implantation window. VEGF antibodies decreased the number of mice embryos implanted and the percentage of blastocysts with attachment and outgrowth in a co-culture model in a dose-dependant manner. These findings demonstrate that VEGF is one of the essential cytokines for embryo implantation in mouse. 7Contribution of attachment insecurity to health-related quality of life in depressed patients显示文摘AIM: To examine the individual contributions of insecure attachment styles and depression symptom severity to health-related quality of life(HRQo L) in patients diagnosed with adjustment disorder(AJD) with depressed mood. METHODS: Participants were 67 patients diagnosed with International Classification of Diseases, Tenth edition AJD with depressed mood, who completed standardised self-report questionnaires measuring study variables. Mean scores and SDs were computed for the outcome and predictor measures. Pearson correlations among the measures were computed. The study hypotheses were tested using analysis of variance(ANOVA) and multiple regression analyses. All analyses were performed using the SPSS-17 software package(SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, United States).RESULTS: ANOVA showed a significant main effect of the insecure attachment styles on depression symptom severity and life satisfaction scores. The results suggestthat depressive symptoms were more severe(F = 4.13, df = 2.67, P < 0.05) and life satisfaction was poorer(F = 5.69, df = 2.67, P < 0.01) in both anxious-ambivalently and avoidantly attached patients compared with their securely attached counterparts, whereas the two insecure groups did not significantly differ by these variables. The anxious/ambivalent attachment style and depression symptom severity significantly contributed to HRQo L, accounting for 21.4% and 29.7% of the total variance, respectively [R2 = 0.79; Adjusted R2 = 0.77; F(5, 67) = 33.68, P < 0.0001], even after controlling for gender, marital and employment status confounders.CONCLUSION: The results show that the anxious/ambivalent attachment style together with depression symptom severity substantially and independently predict the HRQo L outcome in AJD with depressed mood.Alexander M Ponizovsky Angela Drannikov 2013World Journal of Psychiatry2013,3,2:1
8Isolation of pea matrix attachment region and study on its function in transgenic tobaccos显示文摘A DNA fragment containing consensus sequence of matrix attachment region (MAR) has been isolated from pea genome. Compared with original DNA sequence, one 115 bp-long repeat sequence is deleted in the obtained DNA sequence. DNA fragments located upstream and down-stream of repeat DNA sequence respectively share 84% and 93% homology to the corresponding original sequence, and contain A-box or T-box and TATAA sequence, which is characteristics short sequence of MARs. To test the function of the DNA sequence, the plant expression vectors in which b-glucuronidase gene (GUS, uidA) was used as reporter gene were constructed and transferred into tobaccos via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation procedure. Quantitative GUS assay showed that the average level of uidA expression was increased twofold for the presence of MAR, and the highest level of GUS activity of transgenic plants could be increased six times. 9In situ TEM observation of neck formation during oriented attachment of PbSe nanocrystals显示文摘Oriented attachment of nanocrystals is an important route to constructing epitaxially-connected nanocrystal superlattices for various applications.During oriented attach me nt of semic on ductor nano crystals,neck can be formed betwee n nan ocrystals and it strongly influe nces the properties of the resulting superlattice.However,the neck formation mechanism is poorly understood.Here,we use in situ liquid cell transmission electro n microscopy(TEM)to directly observe the initiatio n and growth of homoepitaxial n ecks betwee n PbSe nano crystals with atomic details.We find that neck initiatio n occurs slowly(~10 s)whe n two nano crystals approach to each other within an edge-to-edge dista nee of 0.6 nm.During neck initiation,Pb and Se atoms defuse from other facets into the gap,forming'dynamic reversible'filaments.Once the filament(n eck)width is larger than a critical size of 0.9 nm,it gradually(15 s)widens into a 3-nm-wide n eck.The atomic structure of the neck is further obtained using ex situ aberration-corrected seanning TEM imaging.Neck initiation and growth mechanisms are elucidated with density functional theory calculati ons.Our direct unveiling of the atomic pathways of neck formatio n duri ng oriented attach me nt shed light into the fabrication of nanocrystal superlattices with improved structural order and electronic properties.Yu Wang Xinxing Peng Alex Abelson Bing-Kai Zhang Caroline Qian Peter Ercius Lin-Wang Wang Matt Law Haimei Zheng 2019Nano Research2019,12,10:1
10Influence of Meniscal Attachments Placement on Articular Stress Deterioration显示文摘Meniscal attachments provide constraint for meniscus and contribute to knee stability. However, the influence of attachments placement on articular mechanical environment remains unclear. The present study aims to characterize the stress deterioration caused by abnormal attachment locations. Different placement of medial meniscal attachments were analyzed with a three-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) model of knee joint. The articular stress distribution under compressive loadings indicates that abnormal placement of medial meniscal attachments could cause stress deterioration in meniscus and tibia plateau, which may increase the risk of OA. The influence of PMMA relocation was more severe than that of AMMA. The anterior displacement of both AMMA and PMMA could decrease the tibial contact area and therefore weakening the meniscal function of loading transmission. 11THE CORROSIVE EFFECT OF BARNACLES ON LOW ALLOY STEELS显示文摘The effect of barnacles on corrosion of low alloy (16Mn) steel was studied by immersing steel panels in seawater at Zhonggang.Qingdao, for 41 months. 12Psychosocial factors affecting the etiology and management of type 1 diabetes mellitus:A narrative review显示文摘Type 1 diabetes(T1D)is one of the most common chronic diseases in children and adolescents worldwide.Its etiopathogenesis results from the interplay of genetic and environmental variables.Among the latter,psychological stress has been implicated in disease onset as well as disease management.Various studies,including large population-based studies,have highlighted the role of stressful life events in the etiopathogenesis of T1D.In this article,we also emphasize the importance of attachment in the early child-caregiver relationship,which can be seen as a measure of the quality of the relationship and is crucial for stress and emotional regulation.It serves as a model for all subsequent relationships in one’s life.We summarize some of the few studies performed in the field of attachment and T1D etiopathogenesis or management.T1D management demands a lifelong therapeutic regimen to prevent acute and chronic complications.In addition to psychological stress,psychological factors such as family functioning,developmental adjustment,autonomy,mental health problems and other factors have been found to relate to metabolic control.Psychological factors need to be understood not as a single directional causality-based principle but as a dynamic bi-or multidirectional system that is affected by the normal developmental transitions of childhood and adolescence.Anja Turin Maja DrobničRadobuljac 2021World Journal of Diabetes2021,12,9:1
13Increase of Expression Levels of Reporter Gene in Transgenic Tobaccos by Matrix Attachment Regions显示文摘The matrix attachment region (MAR) located downstream of Plastocyanin gene was isolated from the genome of pea. To study the effect of MARs on foreign gene expression in transgenic plants, T DNA vector was constructed in which MARs flanked bothβ glucuronidase(GUS) gene and selectable marker neomycin phosphotransferase (NPT II) gene. The plant expression vectors were transferred into leaf discs via Agrobacterium mediated transformation procedure. The result of GUS measurement showed that pea MAR could increase transgene expression level. 14Novel concept of endoscopic device delivery station system for rapid and tight attachment of polyglycolic acid sheet显示文摘AIM To evaluate appropriate and rapid polyglycolic acid sheet(PGAs) covering time using device delivery station system(DDSS).METHODS This pilot basic study was conducted to evaluate the potential of accurate and rapid PGAs delivery using DDSS. Three 11-month-old female Beagle dogs were used in this study. Two endoscopic submucosal dissections(ESDs) 4 cm in diameter were performed in lesser curvature of middle gastric body and greater curvature of antrum(total 6 ESDs performed). DDSS(3 cm length, 12 mm in outer diameter) has 2 chambers which 16 cm^2 large 2 PGAs were stored, and DDSS was attached post ESD ulcers, respectively. Beriplast P?(CSL Behring K.K., Tokyo, Japan)(combination of fibringlue and thrombin) was applied equally to the artificial ulcer, and tight attachment of 2 PGAs with DDSS were completed. The evaluation items were covering times, post ESD bleeding and perforation during ESD.RESULTS The covering time of PGAs(defined as the duration from the beginning of endoscope insertion into the mouth to the end of the fibrin glue coating process) was 6.07(4.86-8.29) min. 15Numerical simulation of constricted and diffusive arc–anode attachments in wall-stabilized transferred argon arcs显示文摘A numerical simulation is conducted to investigate arc-anode attachment behavior, especially the formation mechanism of the constricted arc attachment mode for the water-cooled anode of wall-stabilized transferred argon arcs. Argon molecular ions and the corresponding kinetic processes are included to the finite-rate chemistry model in order to capture the chemical nonequilibrium characteristics of the arc near the anode region. Modeling results show that constricted and diffusive arc–anode attachments can be self-consistently obtained at different arc currents while keeping other parameters unchanged. The dominant kinetic processes contributing to ionization and recombination in the arc center and fringes are presented. The results show that in arc fringes and the arc attachment region, molecular ion recombination plays an important role which leads to the rapid loss of electrons. The radial evolution of the production, loss and transport processes of electrons is further analyzed. It is found that for the constricted arc attachment mode, both the recombination and convection transport caused by the anode jet result in the loss of electrons at the arc fringes, which leads to the shrinkage of the arc column at the anode. 16Calculation of light emission in sonoluminescence显示文摘We modify a uniform model of single bubble sonoluminescence,in which heat diffusion,water vapor diffusion and chemical reactions are included to describe the bubble dynamics,and the processes of electron-atom bremsstrahlung,electron-ion bremsstrahlung and recombination radiation,radiative attachment of electrons to atoms and molecules,line emissions of OH radicals and Na atoms are taken into account to calculate the light emission. With this model,we compute the light pulse width,the photon number per flash,the continuum and line spectra and the gas species as the products of chemical reactions,and try to compare with all the experimental data available. We obtain good agreement with the observations of Ar and Xe bubbles in many cases,but fail to match the experimental data of the photon number per flash. 20People’s Acceptance of Vernacular Houses--Transformed Dwellings of Ghantasala, Andhra Pradesh显示文摘Dwellings are usually constructed by people as per their respective needs,with the use of traditional skills.The architectural built form,layout,building materials,and local construction practices vary from one region to the other,depending on the socio cultural and socio-economic significance.It is essential and crucial to understand the cultural significance in an ever-transforming world.Thus,a study has been attempted to analyze typical characteristics of houses in Krishna district of coastal Andhra Pradesh.As part of the study process,a few dwellings were selected which have vernacular building components and which underwent transformation(spatial,physical and esthetical)in response to the respective users’changing requirements in time and space.People’s attachment to the vernacular components of the present and earlier house was recorded.The qualitative analysis brought out that 25%of houses exhibited transformation in their built-up area while 75%exhibited transformation in terms of its spaces,components such as roof,wall,joinery and ornamentation.It was also found that the quantum of transformation which had taken place arose from different reasons in isolation and combination such as family structure,change from joint large family to a smaller nuclear family system within the same premises,property subdivision,growth in economic condition,and partial physical deterioration of building components.The principal focus of this paper is to understand the degree of people’s attachment or satisfaction level toward vernacular elements and thereby understand the social acceptance of vernacular architecture in a broader perspective.Venkata Krishna Kumar Sadhu Srikonda Ramesh 2020Journal of World Architecture2020,4,1:0
