1Design of a new dynamical core for global atmospheric models based on some efficient numerical methods显示文摘A careful study on the integral properties of the primitive hydrostatic balance equations for baroclinic atmosphere is carried out, and a new scheme todesign the global adiabatic model of atmospheric dynamics ispresented. This scheme includes a method of weighted equal-areamesh and a fully discrete finite difference method with quadraticand linear conservations for solving the primitive equationsystem. Using this scheme, we established a new dynamical corewith adjustable high resolution acceptable to the availablecomputer capability, which can be very stable without anyfiltering and smoothing. Especially, some important integralproperties are kept unchanged, such as the anti-symmetries of thehorizontal advection operators and the vertical convectionoperator, the mass conservation, the effective energy conservationunder the standard stratification approximation, and so on. 2Analyses of hot and humid weather in Beijing city in summer and its dynamical identification显示文摘The circulation, hygrothermal property and moisture transport character of typical hot and humid weather were analyzed in Beijing areas from July 30 to August 4, 2002. It was pointed out that, under the control of subtropical anticyclone which stretches to the west and north, downdraft suppresses the lifting of lower-troposphere moisture, which makes moisture keep in the lower troposphere. That is the direct reason causing hot and humid weather. Considering the non-uniformity saturated character in real atmosphere, generalized moist potential vorticity (GMPV) equation is derived by the introduction of generalized moist potential temperature concept. The analysis of GMPV shows that negative GMPV anomaly occurs in the lower troposphere. It has indicative sense to hot and humid weather. 4Vertical structures of PM_(10) and PM_(2.5) and their dynamical character in low atmosphere in Beijing urban areas显示文摘The vertical structures and their dynamical character of PM2.5 and PM10 over Beijing urban areas are revealed using the 1 min mean continuous mass concentration data of PM2.5 and PM10 at 8, 100, and 320 m heights of the meteorological observation tower of 325 m at Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IAP CAS tower hereafter) on 10―26 August, 2003, as well as the daily mean mass concentration data of PM2.5 and PM10 and the continuous data of CO and NO2 at 8, 100 (low layer), 200 (middle layer), and 320 m (high layer) heights, in combination with the same period meteorological field observation data of the meteorological tower. The vertical distributions of aerosols observed on IAP CAS tower in Beijing can be roughly divided into two patterns: gradually and rapidly decreasing patterns, I.e. The vertical distribution of aerosols in calm weather or on pollution day belongs to the gradually decreasing pattern, while one on clean day or weak cold air day belongs to the rapidly decreasing pattern. The vertical distributive characters of aerosols were closely related with the dynamical/thermal structure and turbulence character of the atmosphere boundary layer. On the clean day, the low layer PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations were close to those at 8 m height, while the concentrations rapidly decreased at the high layer, and their values were only one half of those at 8 m, especially, the concentration of PM2.5 dropped even more. On the clean day, there existed stronger turbulence below 150 m, aerosols were well mixed, but blocked by the more stronger inversion layer aloft, and meanwhile, at various heights, especially in the high layer, the horizontal wind speed was larger, resulting in the rapid decrease of aerosol concentration, I.e. Resulting in the obvious vertical difference of aerosol concentrations between the low and high layers. On the pollution day, the concentrations of PM2.5 and PM10 at the low, middle, and high layers dropped successively by, on average, about 10% for each layer in comparison with those at 8 m height. On pollution days, in company with the low wind speed, there existed two shallow inversion layers in the boundary layer, but aerosols might be, to some extent, mixed below the inversion layer, therefore, on the pollution day the concentrations of PM2.5 and PM10 dropped with height slowly; and the observational results also show that the concentrations at 320 m height were obviously high under SW and SE winds, but at other heights, the concentrations were not correlated with wind directions. The computational results of footprint analysis suggest that this was due to the fact that the 320 m height was impacted by the pollutants transfer of southerly flow from the southern peripheral heavier polluted areas, such as Baoding, and Shijiazhuang of Hebei Province, Tianjin, and Shandong Province, etc., while the low layer was only affected by Beijing's local pollution source. The computational results of power spectra and periods preliminarily reveal that under the condition of calm weather, the periods of PM10 concentration at various heights of the tower were on the order of minutes, while in cases of larger wind speed, the concentrations of PM2.5 and PM10 at 320 m height not only had the short periods of minute-order, but also the longer periods of hour order. Consistent with the conclusion previously drawn by Ding et al., that air pollutants at different heights and at different sites in Beijing had the character of 'in-phase' variation, was also observed for the diurnal variation and mean diurnal variation of PM2.5 and PM10 at various heights of the tower in this experiment, again confirming the 'in-phase' temporal/spatial distributive character of air pollutants in the urban canopy of Beijing. The gentle double-peak character of the mean diurnal variation of PM2.5 and PM10 was closely related with the evident/similar diurnal variation of turbulent momentum fluxes, sensible heat fluxes, and turbulent kinetic energy at various heights in the urban canopy. Besides, under the condition of calm weather, the concentration of PM2.5 and PM10 declined with height slowly, it was 90% of 8 m concentration at the low layer, a little lesser than 90% at the middle layer, and 80% at the high layer, respectively. 5Strategy and methodology of dynamical analogue prediction显示文摘In order to effectively improve numerical prediction level by using current models and data, the strategy and methodology of dynamical analogue prediction (DAP) is deeply studied in the present paper. A new idea to predict the prediction errors of dynamical model on the basis of historical analogue information is put forward so as to transform the dynamical prediction problem into the estimation problem of prediction errors. In terms of such an idea, a new prediction method of final analogue correction of errors (FACE) is developed. Furthermore, the FACE is applied to extra-seasonal prediction experiments on an operational atmosphere-ocean coupled general circulation model. Prediction results of summer mean circulation and total precipitation show that the FACE can to some extent reduce prediction errors, recover prediction variances, and improve prediction skills. 6QTL analysis of rice low temperature germinability显示文摘A double haploid population, derived from anther culture of F, hybrid between a typical indica and a japonica (ZYQ8/JX17), has been used to investigate the low temperature germinability (LTG) at 15℃. The low temperature germinability of two parents was significantly different. In 6-11 d, the germination percentage of ZYQ8 was higher than that of JX17. In 12-16 d, the germination percentage of JX17 was higher than that of ZYQ8. The quantitative trait loci (QTLs) of every day for low temperature germinabilityhave been mapped based on a molecular linkage map constructed from this population. In 8-11 d, qLTG-9 was identified in C397B-RZ617B on chromosome 9, the additive effect was positive, showing that, the allele from JX17 could increase low temperature germinability. In 12-16 d, qLTG-4 was mapped between RG908 and CT563 on chromosome 4, the additive effect was negative, showing that the allele from ZYQ8 could increase low temperature germinability. 7Noether-type theorem for discrete nonconservative dynamical systems with nonregular lattices显示文摘We investigate Noether symmetries and conservation laws of the discrete nonconserved systems with nonregular lattices. The operators of discrete transformation and discrete differentiation to the right and left are introduced for the systems. Based on the invariance of discrete Hamilton action on nonregular lattices of the systems with the nonconserved forces under the infinitesimal transformations with respect to the time and generalized coordinates, we give the discrete analog of generalized variational formula. From this formula we derive the discrete analog of generalized Noether-type identity, and then we present the generalized quasi-extremal equations and properties of these equations for the systems. We also obtain the discrete analog of Noether-type conserved laws and the discrete analog of generalized Noether theorems for the systems. 9Dynamical classification of topological quantum phases显示文摘Topological phase of matter is now a mainstream of research in condensed matter physics, of which the classification, synthesis, and detection of topological states have brought excitements over the recent decade while remain incomplete with ongoing challenges in both theory and experiment. Here we propose to establish a universal non-equilibrium characterization of the equilibrium topological quantum phases classified by integers, and further propose the high-precision dynamical schemes to detect such states. The framework of the dynamical classification theory consists of basic theorems. First, we uncover that classifying a d-dimensional(dD) gapped topological phase of generic multibands can reduce to a(d-1)D invariant defined on so-called band inversion surfaces(BISs), rendering a bulk-surface duality which simplifies the topological characterization. Further, we show in quenching across phase boundary the(pseudo) spin dynamics to exhibit unique topological patterns on BISs, which are attributed to the post-quench bulk topology and manifest a dynamical bulk-surface correspondence. For this the topological phase is classified by a dynamical topological invariant measured from an emergent dynamical spintexture field on the BISs. Applications to quenching experiments on feasible models are proposed and studied, demonstrating the new experimental strategies to detect topological phases with high feasibility. 14Discrete chaos in Banach spaces显示文摘This paper is concerned with chaos in discrete dynamical systems governed by continuously Frechet differentiable maps in Banach spaces. A criterion of chaos induced by a regular nondegenerate homoclinic orbit is established. Chaos of discrete dynamical systems in the n-dimensional real space is also discussed, with two criteria derived for chaos induced by nondegenerate snap-back repellers, one of which is a modified version of Marotto's theorem. In particular, a necessary and sufficient condition is obtained for an expanding fixed point of a differentiable map in a general Banach space and in an n-dimensional real space, respectively. 15On PID control for synchronization of complex dynamical network with delayed nodes显示文摘Over the past two decades, synchronization, as an interesting collective behavior of complex dynamical networks, has been attracting much attention. To reveal and analyze the inherent mechanism of synchronization in complex dynamical networks with time delays in nodes, this paper attempts to use PD and PI control protocols to achieve synchronization. Based on a classical network model, we investigate the PD and PI control for synchronization of complex dynamical networks with delayed nodes and obtain some sufficient conditions. By using Lyapunov functions and appropriate state transformations, we prove that global synchronization can be achieved via the above control protocols. 16Algebraic dynamics algorithm:Numerical comparison with Runge-Kutta algorithm and symplectic geometric algorithm显示文摘Based on the exact analytical solution of ordinary differential equations, a truncation of the Taylor series of the exact solution to the Nth order leads to the Nth order algebraic dynamics algorithm. A detailed numerical comparison is presented with Runge-Kutta algorithm and symplectic geometric algorithm for 12 test models. 17Characteristics of the internal waves and their effects on the sound transmission in the Midst of the Yellow Sea显示文摘In the late summer of 1996, a combined acoustics and physical oceanography experiment (YS96) was performed in the midst of the Yellow Sea. Here the oceanographic data are analyzed and the internal wave spectrum is constructed. It shows that the internal wavesare dominated by the first modes and the spectral density is approximately proportional to w-s/z. Based on the internal wave spectrum, a model of the induced sound-speed distribution is developed, and computer simulation is conducted for CW signal propagation by using the PE method. 18Dynamical understanding of loop soliton solution for several nonlinear wave equations显示文摘It has been found that some nonlinear wave equations have one-loop soliton solutions. What is the dynamical behavior of the so-called one-loop soliton solution? To answer this question, the travelling wave solutions for four nonlinear wave equations are discussed. Exact explicit parametric representations of some special travelling wave solutions are given. The results of this paper show that a loop solution consists of three different breaking travelling wave solutions. 19Obstacle-avoiding path planning for multiple autonomousunderwater vehicles with simultaneous arrival显示文摘This paper focuses on planning the obstacle-avoiding paths of multiple autonomous underwater vehicles(AUVs) in complex ocean environment, with the time coordination of simultaneous arrival. By imitating the nature phenomenon that river water avoids rocks and reaches the destination, the interfered fluid dynamical system(IFDS) is first presented to obtain the single-AUV path for obstacle avoidance, where the modulation matrix is calculated to quantify the influence of obstacles especially. Then the two-layer comprehensive adjustment to path length and voyage speed is utilized, aiming to achieve the simultaneous arrival at destination between multi-AUVs. By adjusting reactive parameters of IFDS, the former is to roughly ensure the intersection of AUVs' potential arrival time range to be non-null. On this basis, the latter adjusts each AUV's voyage speed finely using the consensus method with state predictor, which has faster convergence speed. If the multi-AUVs communication network is connected, the whole system will quickly converge to the consensus state, i.e., the estimated time of arrival(ETA) of each AUV tends to be equal.
