| 1 | Effects of the Biot and the squirt-flow coupling interaction on anisotropic elastic waves显示文摘Considering the velocity anisotropy of the solid/fluid relative motion and employment of the BISQ theory based on the one-dimensional porous isotropic case, we establish a two-phase anisotropic elastic wave equation to simultaneously include the Biot and the squirt mechanisms in terms of both the basic principles of the fluid’s mass conservation and the elastic-wave dynamical equations in the two-phase anisotropic rock. Numerical results, while the Biot-flow and the squirt-flow effects are simultaneously considered in the transversely isotropic (Tl) poroelastic medium, show that the attenuation of the quasi P-wave and the quasi SV-wave strongly depend on the permeability anisotropy, and the attenuation behavior at low and high frequencies is contrary. The shear-wave and other ultrasonic wave can be identified by full wave phase analysis (FWPA), thus the velocities of compression-wave and shear-wave can be obtained in a single experiment. | 5 | Structures and antifouling properties of low surface energy non-toxic antifouling coatings modified by nano-SiO_2 powder显示文摘Antifouling coatings are used to improve the speed and energy efficiency of ships by preventing or- ganisms, such as barnacles and weed, building up on the underwater hull and helping the ships movement through the water. Typically, marine coatings are tributyltin self-polishing copolymer paints containing toxic molecules called biocides. They have been the most successful in combating bio- fouling on ships, but their widespread use has caused severe pollution in the marine ecosystem. The low surface energy marine coating is an entirely non-toxic alternative, which reduces the adhesion strength of marine organisms, facilitating their hydrodynamic removal at high speeds. In this paper, the novel low surface energy non-toxic marine antifouling coatings were prepared with modified acrylic resin, nano-SiO2, and other pigments. The effects of nano-SiO2 on the surface structure and elastic modulus of coating films have been studied, and the seawater test has been carried out in the Dalian Bay. The results showed that micro-nano layered structures on the coating films and the lowest surface energy and elastic modulus could be obtained when an appropriate mass ratio of resin, nano-SiO2, and other pigments in coatings approached. | 7 | Effects of porosity on seismic velocities, elastic moduli and Poisson's ratios of solid materials and rocks显示文摘The generalized mixture rule(GMR) is used to provide a unified framework for describing Young's(E),shear(G) and bulk(K) moduli, Lame parameter(l), and P- and S-wave velocities(V_p and V_s) as a function of porosity in various isotropic materials such as metals, ceramics and rocks. The characteristic J values of the GMR for E, G, K and l of each material are systematically different and display consistent correlations with the Poisson's ratio of the nonporous material(v_0). For the materials dominated by corner-shaped pores, the fixed point at which the effective Poisson's ratio(n) remains constant is at v_0=0.2, and J(G) > J(E) > J(K) > J(l) and J(G) < J(E) < J(K) < J(l) for materials with v_0> 0.2 and v_0< 0.2, respectively.J(V_s) > J(V_p) and J(V_s) < J(V_p) for the materials with v_0 > 0.2 and v_0< 0.2, respectively. The effective n increases, decreases and remains unchanged with increasing porosity for the materials with v_0 < 0.2,v_0 > 0.2 and v_0 =0.2, respectively. For natural rocks containing thin-disk-shaped pores parallel to mineral cleavages, grain boundaries and foliation, however, the n fixed point decreases nonlinearly with decreasing pore aspect ratio(a: width/length). | 8 | Diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis,and prevention of deep vein thrombosis recurrence and the post-thrombotic syndrome in the primary care medicine setting anno 2014显示文摘The requirement for a safe diagnostic strategy of deep vein thrombosis(DVT) should be based on an overall objective post incidence of venous thromboembolism(VTE) of less than 1% during 3 mo fol low-up. Compression ultrasonography(CUS) of the leg veins has a negative predictive value(NPV) of 97%-98% indicating the need of repeated CUS testing within one week. A negative ELISA VIDAS safely excludes DVT and VTE with a NPV between 99% and 100% at a low clinical score of zero. The combination of low clinical score and a less sensitive D-dimer test(Simplify) is not sensitive enough to exclude DVT and VTE in routine daily practice. From prospective clinical research studies it may be concluded that complete recanalization within 3-6 mo and no reflux is associated with a low or no risk of PTS obviating the need of MECS 6 mo after DVT. Partial and complete recanalization after 6 to more than 12 mo is usually complicated by reflux due to valve destruction and symptomatic PTS. Reflux seems to be a main determinant for PTS and DVT recurrence, the latter as a main contributing factor in worsening PTS. This hypothesis is supported by the relation between the persistent residual vein thrombosis(RVT = partial recanalization) and the risk of VTE recurrence in prospective studies. Absence of RVT at 3 mo postDVT and no reflux is predicted to be associated with no recurrence of DVT(1.2%) during follow-up obviating the need of wearing medical elastic stockings and anticoagulation at 6 mo post-DVT. The presence or absence of RVT but with reflux at or after 6 mo postDVT is associated with both symptomatic PTS and an increased risk of VTE recurrence in about one third in the post-DVT period after regular discontinuation of anticoagulant treatment. | 10 | Scattering of SH-wave by multiple circular cavities in half space显示文摘In this paper, an analytic method is developed to address steady SH-wave scattering and perform dynamic analysisof multiple circular cavities in half space. The scattered wave function used for scattering of SH-waves by multiple circularcavities, which automatically satisfies the stress-free condition at the horizontal surface, is constructed by applying thesymmetry of the SH-wave scattering and the method of multi-polar coordinates system. Applying this scattered wave functionand method of moving coordinates, the original problem can be transformed to the problem of SH-wave scattering by multiplecircular cavities in the full space. Finally, the solution of the problem can be reduced to a series of algebraic equations andsolved numerically by truncating the infinite algebraic equations to the finite ones. | 11 | Uniaxial experimental study of the acoustic emission and deformation behavior of composite rock based on 3D digital image correlation(DIC)显示文摘In this paper, uniaxial compression tests were carried out on a series of composite rock specimens with different dip angles, which were made from two types of rock-like material with different strength. The acoustic emission technique was used to monitor the acoustic signal characteristics of composite rock specimens during the entire loading process. At the same time, an optical non-contact 3 D digital image correlation technique was used to study the evolution of axial strain field and the maximal strain field before and after the peak strength at different stress levels during the loading process. The effect of bedding plane inclination on the deformation and strength during uniaxial loading was analyzed. The methods of solving the elastic constants of hard and weak rock were described. The damage evolution process, deformation and failure mechanism, and failure mode during uniaxial loading were fully determined. The experimental results show that the θ = 0?–45?specimens had obvious plastic deformation during loading, and the brittleness of the θ = 60?–90?specimens gradually increased during the loading process. When the anisotropic angle θincreased from 0?to 90?, the peak strength, peak strain,and apparent elastic modulus all decreased initially and then increased. The failure mode of the composite rock specimen during uniaxial loading can be divided into three categories:tensile fracture across the discontinuities(θ = 0?–30?), slid-ing failure along the discontinuities(θ = 45?–75?), and tensile-split along the discontinuities(θ = 90?). The axial strain of the weak and hard rock layers in the composite rock specimen during the loading process was significantly different from that of the θ = 0?–45?specimens and was almost the same as that of the θ = 60?–90?specimens. | 13 | Modeling of elastic wave propagation on a curved free surface using an improved finite-difference algorithm显示文摘Based on existing direct and imaging methods of a staggered finite-difference scheme, an improved algorithm for staggered finite-difference is proposed to implement rugged topographic free boundary conditions. This method assumes that the free surface can be implemented with horizontal and vertical free surface segments and their corners; the free surface passes through the grid points of shear stress components, instead of the normal stress components. Imaging is carried out for stress components in both horizontal and vertical directions, thus increasing the accuracy. To update particle- velocities, imaging and updating are first performed in the horizontal direction, and then in the vertical direction. The numerical results for elastic flat horizontal free surface with the imaging method and those for flat free surfaces of various slope angles with the proposed method are compared, and are shown to be in good agreement. | 20 | In-plane elastic stability of fixed parabolic shallow arches显示文摘The nonlinear behavior of fixed parabolic shallow arches subjected to a vertical uniform load is inves- tigated to evaluate the in-plane buckling load. The virtual work principle method is used to establish the non-linear equilibrium and buckling equations. Analytical solutions for the non-linear in-plane sym- metric snap-through and antisymmetric bifurcation buckling loads are obtained. Based on the least square method, an approximation for the symmetric buckling load of fixed parabolic arch is proposed to simplify the solution process. And the relation between modified slenderness and buckling modes are discussed. Comparisons with the results of finite element analysis demonstrate that the solutions are accurate. A cable-arch structure is presented to improve the in-plane stability of parabolic arches.
