1Challenges and developments of automotive fuel cell hybrid power system and control显示文摘Fuel cells are emerging as promising power sources and have attracted increasing attention from industries and academics worldwide. In particular, automotive manufacturers are replacing internal combustion engines in vehicles with fuel cell systems, which are advantaged by zero emissions, high efficiency,and various clean routes that generate pure hydrogen. However, current fuel cell systems are costly, and their corresponding infrastructures are not fully qualified to meet current market demand. This paper reviews the challenges and developments of automotive fuel cell hybrid power systems and their controls. It briefly summarizes the model, control, and optimization issue associated with the research and application of fuel cells in hybrid power systems. After presenting the basic knowledge and discussing the trending size and structure of fuel cells for automotive usage, the review describes models of automotive fuel cell systems,focusing on the electrochemical reaction dynamics and the key parameters influencing their efficiency and lifetime. The control problems associated with automotive fuel cell systems as well as the optimization issue associated with hybrid energy systems(comprising fuel cells, batteries, and ultra-capacitors) are elaborately analyzed. 2Ontology modeling of semantics in social media:Public issue knowledge base (PIKB)of the Weibo显示文摘Purpose:This study aims to construct an ontology to model the semantics of social media streams,in particular,trending topics and public issues.Design/methodology/approach:Our knowledge base included 10 public events and topics from Weibo respectively,which were collected through keyword search and a crawler program.We used a semi-automatic approach to model and annotate the semantics in social media,and adapted the multi-layered ontology to refine the design based on previous researches,then we used named entity recognition(NER) to extract entities to instantiate the ontology.Relationships were extracted based on co-occurrence measures.Finally,we manually conducted post-filtering evaluation and edited the extracted entities and relationships.Findings:An initial assessment demonstrated that our multi-layered ontology supports various types of queries and analyses in the public issue knowledge base(PIKB),which can serve as an effective tool to query,understand and trace public issues.Research limitations:Manual involvement cannot meet the requirements for challenges of sustainable developments.Since the relationships extracted are fully based on the co-occurrence of entities,rich semantic relationships,such as how much the key players have been involved,could not be fully reflected.Besides,the user evaluation is necessary for further ontology assessment.Practical implications:The PIKB can be used by regular Web users and policy makers to query,understand,and make sense of public events and topics.The methodology and reusable ontology model are useful for institutions that are interested in making use of the social media data.Originality/value:In this study,a multi-layered ontology is applied to model the evolving semantics of public events and trending topics in social media,and the semi-automatic approach could make it possible to extract entities and relationships from large amount of unstructured short texts of user generated content(UGC) from social media.Yan ZHOU Wei LI Xingfu YUAN Pengyi ZHANG 2014Chinese Journal of Library and Information Science2014,,1:2

5Preface to the Special Issue:Towards Improving Understanding and Prediction of Arctic Change and its Linkage with Eurasian Mid-latitude Weather and Climate显示文摘The dramatic changes in the Arctic climate system during recent decades are one of the most prominent features ofglobal climate change. Two most striking and fundamental characteristics are the amplified near-surface warming at a ratetwice the global average since the mid 20th century (e.g., Blunden and Arndt, 2012; Huang et al., 2017), and the rapiddecline of sea-ice extent at a pace of 12.9% (10 yr)-l and thinning of ice thickness by 40% since 1979 (e.g., Kwok andRothrock, 2009; Meier et al., 2012). In conjunction with these changes, the frequency of occurrence of extreme climate andweather events has ostensibly increased across the Northern Hemisphere mid-latitudes, including adverse cold spells, severeheat waves, destructive floods, and persistent droughts (e.g., Coumou and Rahmstorf, 2012). 13Characteristics of soil water retention curve at macro-scale显示文摘Scale adaptable hydrological models have attracted more and more attentions in the hydrological modeling research community, and the constitutive relationship at the macro-scale is one of the most important issues, upon which there are not enough research activities yet. Taking the constitutive relationships of soil water movement--soil water retention curve (SWRC) as an example, this study extends the definition of SWRC at the micro-scale to that at the macro-scale, and aided by Monte Carlo method we demonstrate that soil property and the spatial distribution of soil moisture will affect the features of SWRC greatly. Furthermore, we assume that the spatial distribution of soil moisture is the result of self-organization of climate, soil, ground water and soil water movement under the specific boundary conditions, and we also carry out numerical experiments of soil water movement at the vertical direction in order to explore the relationship between SWRC at the macro-scale and the combinations of climate, soil, and groundwater. The results show that SWRCs at the macro-scale and micro-scale presents totally different features, e.g., the essential hysteresis phenomenon which is exaggerated with increasing aridity index and rising groundwater table. 19Emancipatory reflection on a nursing practice-based ethical issue about nurses' paternalistic decision-making for patients显示文摘Objective: This study aimed to demonstrate and promote the skill of critical emancipatory reflection through reflecting on a nursing practice-based ethical issue about nurses' paternalistic decision-making for patients. Meanwhile, critical awareness will be developed and the underlying issues of paternalism in nursing decision-making will be analyzed. Then, by applying the procedure, improvement in nursing decision-making practice will be expected.Methods: Taylor's model of emancipatory reflection with four steps, including construction, deconstruction, confrontation, and reconstruction, is utilized to guide the author's reflection.Results: Guided by the socialization theory, the author's personal and professional socialization is seen to be associated with the formation of the value of paternalism. The theory of reflexivity is applied to unearth the related issues, including deeper personal value,work environment, as well as historical and cultural contexts. Moreover, the power derived from policy, work relationship, and nursing administration, which could induce paternalism in the author's nursing decision-making practice, was critically debated using the hegemony theory. Finally, new insights into paternalism will be achieved, which enable change in terms of how to facilitate patients' autonomous decision-making.Conclusions: The process of refection makes it clear that respecting patients' right and performing patient-centered caring are the bases to change the paternalism existing in the nursing decision-making practice currently. The reconstruction step assists the author in terms of how to value the patients' autonomy and balance patients' safety and choice, rather than being overprotective; carry out risk assessment, and search for strong evidence to counterbalance the positive and negative aspects of risk-taking; communicate with patients appropriately in a manner that they can comprehend; spend more time to explore patients' preference and choice; make every effort to elevate the patients' decision-making capacity; implement patient-centered care and shared decision-making in nursing practice; consult with other colleagues and obtain the required support when limitations or challenges exist; try to justify and avoid hidden paternalism behind policy or guidelines; deal with the power in hand well and fairly; and also positively face the powers that constrain the author.Lian-Lian Tang 2019Frontiers of Nursing2019,6,1:0
