| 1 | Photochemical pollution in Lanzhou, China - A case study显示文摘The photochemical air pollution in Xigu district of Lanshou city, Gansu Province was studied during a period of 1981-1984. The extremely high NMHC/NOx ratio and ozone level elevation after rain have been noticed. A series of outdoor and indoor reaction chamber simulation experiments conducted in order to understand the specific conditions. | 2 | How does smog affect firms' investment behavior? A natural experiment based on a sudden surge in the PM2.5 index显示文摘This study examines the effect of environmental regulations on the investment behavior of high-polluting enterprises.Our data are from A-share listed ?rms in China from 2006 to 2014.We use a sudden surge in the PM2.5 index as an exogenous event to conduct a natural experiment.We?nd that after the event with a series of regulatory policies introduced,investment expenditure declines signi?cantly in local state-owned enterprises(SOEs)and non-state-owned enterprises(non-SOEs),whereas investment opportunity declines signi?cantly in non-SOEs compared with SOEs.However,there are no signi?cant changes in central SOEs’investment expenditure and investment opportunity.Further analysis shows that investment expenditure and investment opportunity decline for high-polluting enterprises located in East China but increase for those located in West China.Our study is the?rst to investigate the effect of smog on enterprises’investment behavior.Our?ndings reveal that environmental regulation has in?uence on the investment behavior of enterprises with different property rights and regional differences. | Jingbo Luo | 2017 | China Journal of Accounting Research2017,,4: | 13 |
| 3 | Traffic emission and its impact on air quality in Guangzhou area显示文摘A comprehensive field measurement was set up in Guangzhou City of China and the key was placed on NO\-x and O\-3 pollution. The results indicated that the average driving speed of vehicle was only 14 km/h in downtown with high frequency of idle and acceleration. Upward fluxes of CO and NO were observed in Dongfeng Street. NO\-x annual mean concentration in urban area increased year by year, and NO\-x was identified as the most important pollutant since 1995. Photochemical smog pollution was serious in general, spatial and seasonal distribution of O\-3 was observed. O\-3 concentration was kept in a high level in autumn, and its formation was restrained in summer due to frequent thunderstorm and high humidity. | 4 | The Major Root Causes of Smog in China and Technologies and Solutions to Reduce It显示文摘This paper discusses the two major root causes of smog in China.The first one is the distributed coal combustion in many small and medium sized boilers which have no emission control systems installed.To resolve this problem,there are several ways,such as increasing the centralized coal combustion for heat and power cogeneration;or converting coal to SNG in areas where there is enough water resource and removing the pollutants of the coal in the centralized coal to SNG plant,or refining the coal and making it cleaner first before combustion.The second major cause of smog is the low quality diesel and outdated diesel engines used in China.To solve this problem,there are some ways,such as improving the diesel quality to meet the national V standard,and meanwhile,enhancing the law enforcement to eliminate these outdated diesel engines that do not meet the national emission standards;in addition,combusting cleaner and cheaper fuel such as methanol or DME in the diesel engines is also an option for certain areas where there are abundant alternative fuels such as methanol to replace diesel. | Ke Liu | 2016 | Frontiers of Engineering Management2016,3,4: | 1 |

| 6 | Image smog restoration using oblique gradient profile prior and energy minimization显示文摘Removing the smog from digital images is a challenging pre-processing tool in various imaging systems.Therefore,many smog removal(i.e.,desmogging)models are proposed so far to remove the effect of smog from images.The desmogging models are based upon a physical model,it means it requires efficient estimation of transmission map and atmospheric veil from a single smoggy image.Therefore,many prior based restoration models are proposed in the literature to estimate the transmission map and an atmospheric veil.However,these models utilized computationally extensive minimization of an energy function.Also,the existing restoration models suffer from various issues such as distortion of texture,edges,and colors.Therefore,in this paper,a convolutional neural network(CNN)is used to estimate the physical attributes of smoggy images.Oblique gradient channel prior(OGCP)is utilized to restore the smoggy images.Initially,a dataset of smoggy and sunny images are obtained.Thereafter,we have trained CNN to estimate the smog gradient from smoggy images.Finally,based upon the computed smog gradient,OGCP is utilized to restore the still smoggy images.Performance analyses reveal that the proposed CNN-OGCP based desmogging model outperforms the existing desmogging models in terms of various performance metrics. | Ashok KUMAR Arpit JAIN | 2021 | Frontiers of Computer Science2021,15,6: | 0 |
| 7 | The study for polyaromatic hydrocarbons decay on Chinese coal soot particles in atmosphere显示文摘A study for the photochemical behavior of some polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), for example B(a )P, B( k )F and fluoranthene in coal smoke particles was performed by using indoor Teflon smog chamber.Experiments suggest that the photochemical reaction of PAH is first order reaction and kinetic rates of some PAH were obtained. It was shown that the reaction rate constant is proportional to light intensity and water vapor concentration. Temperature and PAH loading also have influence on PAH decay rate. A model for PAH loss has been set up on the basis of the results of our experiments and the simulating results of this model suggest that coal particle PAH half lives are of the order of a period of days in winter and a few hours in summer. | 8 | A reinvestigation of low molecular weight components in SOA produced by cyclohexene ozonolysis显示文摘The ozonolysis of cyclohexene is an important model system for understanding the more complex reaction of O_3 with monoterpenes; however, many previous studies have come to qualitatively different conclusions about the composition of the secondary organic aerosol(SOA)formed in this system. In the present study, the composition of the SOA produced by cyclohexene ozonolysis in the absence of seed aerosols has been investigated online and off-line using synchrotron-based thermal desorption/tunable vacuum ultraviolet photoionization time-of-flight aerosol mass spectrometry(TD-VUV-TOF-PIAMS) in conjunction with a custom-built smog chamber. On the basis of the molecular ions observed by mass spectrometry at 11.5 e V, it was found that dicarboxylic acids, dialdehydes, and cyclic anhydrides are the predominant low molecular weight components in the particle phase. | 10 | Time-delay nonlinear model based on interval grey number and its application显示文摘In this paper, an optimization model is proposed to simulate and predict the current situation of smog. The model takes the interval grey number sequence with the known possibility function as the original data, and constructs a time-delay nonlinear multivariable grey model MGM based on the new kernel and degree of greyness sequences considering its time-delay and nonlinearity. The time-delay parameter is determined by the maximum value of the grey time-delay absolute correlation degree, and the nonlinear parameter is determined by the minimum value of average relative error. In order to verify the feasibility of the model, this paper uses the smog related data of Nanjing city for simulation and prediction.
