| 5 | Study on Physical and Chemical Behaviors of Rare Earths in Preparing Ceramic Tube Supported Palladium Film by Electroless Plating显示文摘The rare earths of ytterbium, lanthanum, praseodymium, neodymium and their binary mixtures were respectively added into the traditional electroless plating solution to prepare thin palladium film on the inner surface of porous ceramic tube. The experimental results shows that the addition of rare earths increases palladium deposition rates and the binary mixtures are superior to the single rare earths and the mixture of ytterbium-lanthanum is the most efficient. Adding the mixture of ytterbium-lanthanum can also reduce the plating temperature by 10~20 ℃, shrink the metal crystal size and improve the film densification compared to those by traditional electroless plating. A thin palladium film with 5 μm was prepared and the film made a highly pure hydrogen with a molar fraction of more than 99.97% from a H2-N2 gas mixture. | 6 | Characterization of Electroless Ni-P Deposits on Surface of AZ91D Magnesium Alloy显示文摘Characterization of electroless nickel deposits on magnesium alloys was investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM),energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS)and electrochemical potentiodynamic polarization analysis.The result of XRD showed that the electroless nickel deposits on magnesium alloys were composed mostly of amorphous Ni-P and partially of microcrystalline nickel.The phosphorus content in the Ni-P deposits was 10.8%by the calculation of EDS.SEM micrographs showed that morphology of electroless nickel deposits on magnesium alloys was a typical cellular structure,and the growth of cellular structure was influenced by surface condition of substrate.Zinc layer between substrate and electroless nickel deposits was not found by the results of SEM and EDS,which indicated that the zinc layer on the surface of magnesium alloy was very thin,and the zinc would dissolved while being immersed in electroless nickel plating solution.The thin zinc layer was almost dissolved completely before Ni-P plating.The result of electrochemical potentiodynamic polarization analysis showed that the corrosion potential Ecorr of electroless nickel deposits in 3.5%NaCl solution was about-0.53 V,which was 1 V higher than that of magnesium alloys substrate.And corrosion current density of Ni-P deposits in 3.5%NaCl solution was much smaller than that of magnesium alloys substrate at the same potential value,which indicated that corrosion resistance of electroless Ni-P deposits was excellent.Discoloration time of concentrated nitric acid test for electroless nickel deposits on magnesium alloys was 445 s,which also indicated excellent corrosion resistance. | Li Jiansan Guo Yanting Liu Junquan | 2012 | 稀有金属材料与工程2012,41,S1: | 3 |

| 9 | Effects of Binary Mixture of Yb_2O_3-La_2O_3 on Pd/Ag Co-Deposition by Electroless Plating显示文摘The binary mixture of Yb2O3-La2O3 was used as an additive to improve the traditional electroless plating for Pd-Ag co-deposition on the inside surface of a porous ceramic tube. The main attention were paid to investigating the effects of Yb2O3-La2O3 on Pd-Ag co-deposition rate, plating temperature, Ag content in film and Pd/Ag reduction potentials. The experimental results show that the co-deposition rate is increased by 63%, the plating temperature is decreased by 10~20 ℃ for obtaining the same co-deposition rate and the Ag content in film basically remains unchangeable when Yb2O3-La2O3 is added into the traditional electroless plating solution. | 11 | Removal of nickel from spent electroless nickel-plating bath with nickel foam cathode显示文摘The electrochemical method was used to remove nickel ion from spent electroless nickel plating bath (pH=5 3). An electrolytic cell was composed of a porous nickel foam cathode and an inert RuO 2/Ti anode. Nickel ions were reduced and deposited on the surface of the nickel foam cathode. The effect of current density (i), linear velocity of wastewater(v), gap between cathode and anode(d C/A) and reaction time(t) on nickel removal rate and current efficiency were studied. As reaction time prolonged, nickel removal rate increased while current efficiency decreased. And larger v and smaller d C/A can enhance nickel removal rate and increase current efficiency by promoting mass transfer and dropping concentration polarization. The effect of current density on nickel removal by electrochemistry was related to other parameters. | 12 | Enhanced Thermoelectric and Mechanical Properties of n-type Bi2Te2.7Se0.3 Bulk Alloys by Electroless Plating with Cu显示文摘Bi2Te2.7Se0.3/Cu core/shell powders were prepared by electroless plating and hydrogen reduction, and then sintered into bulk by spark plasma sintering in order to improve the thermoelectric and mechanical properties of n-type Bi-Te thermoelectric material. After electroless plating, with the increasing of Cu content, Seebeck coefficient keeps increasing and power factor enhances significantly. The highest power factor increases by three times and reaches 23.8 W·cm^-1·K^-2 at room temperature in Bi2Te2.7Se0.3 with 0.22 wt%Cu sample, which means electrical transport properties of Bi2Te2.7Se0.3/Cu samples have been improved.Meanwhile, the ZT values of Bi2Te2.7Se0.3/Cu samples can be enhanced at different temperature zone by adjusting the Cu content. Bi2Te2.7Se0.3 with 0.05 wt% Cu sample has the best thermoelectric properties in high temperature zone, and the ZT peak value increases from 0.35 to 0.85 at 623 K. When the Cu content increases to 0.15 wt%,the ZT peak value moves to the low temperature(373 K) and increases from 0.24 to 0.71. | 13 | Fabrication, microstructure and properties of SiCp/Cu heat sink materials显示文摘Cu-coated powder was fabricated by electroless plating process, and the composition and morphology of coated powder were studied. Moreover, Cu-30, 40, 50 vol.%SiCp heat sink materials were fabricated by hot pressing using coated and uncoated powder. And the microstructure and thermophysical properties of the heat sink materials were also studied. The results show that SiCp particles distribute uniformly in heat sink materials and the interface between SiCp particles and Cu matrix is clear and well bonded. On the condition of same volume fraction of SiCp, the thermal conductivity of the material using coated powder is larger than that of the material using uncoated powder. Under experiment conditions, the thermal conductivity and coefficient of thermal expansion of Cu-30 vol.%SiCp heat sink material is 236.2 W·m-1·K-1 and 9.9×10-6/K (30-200 ℃) respectively. | 14 | Stimulation of Rare Earths in Quartz Optical Fiber Surface Metallization by Electroless Plating and Electroplating显示文摘This research aims to use several kind of rare earth oxides, such as Nd2O3, Yb2O3, Ce2O3 and La2O3, to improve the electroless plating and electroplating processes for surface metallization of quartz optical fiber (silicon fiber) for its practical uses. The effects of the rare earth oxides on the deposition rate of Ni-P-B, the stability of the plating solution and the surface property of the film were investigated and the comparisons of their behaviours were made. The effects of rare earth oxide of La2O3 on the hardness and surface property of the Ni film prepared by electroplating process were studied. The surface morphonogies, compositions and hardness of the Ni-P-B and Ni films were characterized and analyzed by SEM, MSM, ICP and DIMHM, respectively. The experimental results showed that Ce2O3 with the concentration of 4 mg·L-1 was the best one among the four rare earth oxides with suitable concentrations in increasing the deposition rate, enhancing the stability of the electroless plating solution and improving the surface property of the Ni-P-B film. The improvements of the hardness and surface property of the Ni film prepared by electroplating with adding La2O3 were discovered. No obvious influences of Ce2O3 and La2O3 on the compositions of Ni-P-B and Ce free in the Ni-P-B film were found because of its much more nagative deposition potential than those of the used reducing agents in this experiment. Two anodic peaks were observed on gold electrode at - 0.44V and - 0.59 V (SCE),respectively, and no corresponding cathodic peaks were obtained. The one at - 0.44 V wits ascribed to the oxidation oftautomeric form of hypophosphite, the other at - 0.59 V was due to the oxidation of absorbed form of hypophosphite. The POM was pretreated by hot spraying Al powder on it. Before the electroless Ni-W-P deposition, the POM with Al coating was flash plated in alkaline bath. The mechanism of Ni-W-P deposition was studied and the technology was optimized. The XRD analysis shows that the 'as-deposited' Ni-W-P plating has mixed crystalline structure. The hardness value of deposits is more than HV700. The abrasion resistance of deposits is six times more than that of POM. Bending test was used to determine the cohesion between the deposits and the substrates. SEM was used to study the behavior of surface abrasion and interface bonding condition. | 17 | Electroless plating of Ni-Zn(Fe)-P alloy on carbon steel sheets显示文摘The autocatalytic deposition of Ni-Zn(Fe)-P alloys were carried out on carbon steel sheets from bath containing nickel sulfate, zinc sulfate, sodium hypophosphite, sodium citrate and boric acid. The effects of pH and mole ratio of NiSO4/ZnSO4 on the deposition rate and the composition of deposit were studied. It is found that the presence of zinc sulfate in the bath has an inhibitory effect on the alloy deposition. As a consequence, the mole fraction of zinc in the deposits never reaches high value, which is less than 18.0%. The structure and surface morphology of Ni-Zn(Fe)-P coatings were charactered by XRD and SEM. The alloys plated at all conditions consist of amorphous phase coexisting with a crystalline cubic Ni phase. | 18 | Modifying Behaviors of Ultrasonic Irradiation and Rare Earth Metal Cerium on Electroless Co-Ni-B Alloy Coating显示文摘By plasma transmitting spectrograph,electron energy spectrometry,X-ray diffractometry,transmission electron microscopy and micro-hardometry,the effects of ultrasonic irradiation and rare earth metal cerium on the depositing speed,chemical composition,crystal structure and microhardness of electroless Co-Ni-B alloy coating were inspected and analyzed. The results show that cerium and ultrasonic irradiation can evidently raise the depositing speed of electroless Co-Ni-B alloy. The cerium content of electroless Co-Ni-B-Ce alloy coating also increases after ultrasonic irradiation applied to electroless Co-Ni-B plating process. Under the action of ultrasonic irradiation and rare metal cerium,the chemical composition of electroless Co-Ni-B alloy coating is changed. Electroless Co-Ni-B alloy with amorphous structure is transformed to electroless Co-Ni-B-Ce alloy with microcrystalline in general state and electroless Co-Ni-B-Ce alloy with crystalline structure in ultrasonic irradiation. | 19 | Effect of Silver Element on Microstructure and Properties of W-30Cu/TiC Composites显示文摘W-30 wt%Cu and TiC-50 wt%Ag were successfully synthesized by a novel simplified pretreatment followed by electroless plating. The 0 wt% TiC, 0.5 wt% TiC, and 0.5 wt%TiC-0.5 wt%Ag composite powders were added to W-30 wt%Cu composite powders by blending, and then reduced. The reduced W-30 Cu, W-30 Cu/0.5 TiC, and W-30 Cu-0.5 Ag/0.5 TiC composite powders were then compacted and sintered at 1 300 ℃ in protective hydrogen for 60 min. The phase and morphology of the composite powders and materials were analyzed using X-ray diffraction and field emission scanning electron microscopy. The relative density, electrical conductivity, and hardness of the sintered samples were examined. Results showed that W-30 Cu and TiC-Ag composite powders with uniform structure were obtained using simplified pretreatment followed by electroless plating. The addition of TiC particles can significantly increase the compressive strength and hardness of the W-30 Cu composite material but decrease the electrical conductivity. Next, 0.5 wt% Ag was added to prepare W-30 Cu-0.5 Ag/TiC composites with excellent electrical conductivity. | 20 | INFLUENCE OF SURFACE MORPHOLOGY ON THE MICROHARDNESS OF ELECTROLESS Ni-B DEPOSIT REVEALED BY AFM OBSERVATION显示文摘A crystalline and non crystalline two phase Ni B coating was prepared by electroless deposition with potassium borohydride as reducing agent. When the deposit was heated from 10 °C to 500 °C , it took place three kinds of phase transformation and formed corresponding nickel borides. An Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) was used to directly view the surface morphologies of the samples in various treated states. The AFM images indicate that nano dimensional protrusions grow on the surface of the deposit grain during some heat treatment processes, and they are distinguished greatly from the small bulges existing in the as plated deposit. Further studies show that the microhardness related to the surface topography of the coating to some extent.
