| 5 | Exponential inequalities for associated random variables and strong laws of large numbers显示文摘Some exponential inequalities for partial sums of associated random variables are established. These inequalities improve the corresponding results obtained by Ioannides and Roussas (1999), and Oliveira (2005). As application, some strong laws of large numbers are given. | 7 | A Network Calculus Approach for the Analysis of Packet-switching Networks显示文摘Network calculus is an evolving new methodology for backlog and delay analysis of packet-switching networks. With network calculus we are able to compute tight bounds on delays,backlogs,and effective bandwidths in a lossless setting applicable to packet-switching networks and better understand some physical properties of networks. In this paper,the basic network calculus concepts of arrival curves and service curves are introduced.Then we provide the approach for modeling leaky-bucket,generic cell rate algorithm(GCRA),constant bit rate(CBR)flow, variable bit rate(VBR) flow with arrival curve.It is shown that all rate-based packet schedulers can be by a simple rate latency service curve.And by applying these fundamental rules of network calculus,bounds on delay, buffer,effective bandwidth for leaky bucket,GCRA,CBR and VBR can be derived and some practical examples are given.Finally,we compare all the results obtained and conclude this paper. | Li, Minghui Tan, Xianhai | 2007 | China Communications2007,4,2: | 0 |

| 9 | Study on Site-specific Nutrient Management in Cotton Field显示文摘The study on the characteristics of spatial variability of soil nutrients and fertilizer recommendations in cotton field under certain conditions of agricultural management was conducted with GIS and systematic approach for soil nutrient constrains. The results showed that of the spatial variability of soil nutrient was greatly related to the management condition of previous crops. Grid sampling and variable rate application technology (VRAT) were the tools that would hopefully increase fertilizer efficiency. The fertilizers were applied where they were needed and at proper rate. Balance fertilization demonstration showed that fertilizer recommendations according to the available nutrient level in soil could decrease fertilizer cost with 657.4 yuan / ha and increase seed cotton yield by 19.8%. | 10 | Variable selection procedures from multiple testing显示文摘Variable selection has played an important role in statistical learning and scienti?c discoveries during the past ten years, and multiple testing is a fundamental problem in statistical inference and also has wide applications in many scienti?c ?elds. Signi?cant advances have been achieved in both areas. This study attempts to ?nd a connection between the adaptive LASSO(least absolute shrinkage and selection operator) and multiple testing procedures in linear regression models. We also propose procedures based on multiple testing methods to select variables and control the selection error rate, i.e., the false discovery rate.
