Increased resistance of drought by Trichoderma harzianum fungal treatment correlates with increased secondary metabolites and proline content显示文摘Plant secondary metabolites play vital role in plant stress response. In this study we investigated whether root colonization of tomato(Solanum lycopersicum) infected by Trichoderma harzianum leads to alterations in the biosynthesis of secondary plant metabolites including phytohormones and osmolyte proline under drought stress. Exposure of tomato to drought caused a drastic decline in plant growth and physiological parameters. Tomato inoculated with T. harzianum showed increased root and shoot growth and chlorophyll pigments as compared to uninoculated controls as well as drought stressed plants. Proline and total soluble protein content was increased in plants inoculated with T. harzianum under both normal as well as drought conditions. An obvious increase in phenol and flavonoid content was observed due to T. harzianum. In addition, T. harzianum inoculated plants maintained higher levels of growth regulators indole acetic acid, indole butyric acid, and gibberellic acid under drought stress. Improved secondary metabolites which play an important role in plant stress tolerance by T. harzianum may have coordinately worked for bringing the growth regulation by protecting membranes from reactive oxygen species(ROS) and enhance plant growth through accessing more nutrients by root system.Mona S.Alwhibi Abeer Hashem Elsayed Fathi Abd_Allah Abdulaziz A.Alqarawi Dina Wafi K.Soliman Stephan Wirth Dilfuza Egamberdieva 2017Journal of Integrative Agriculture2017,16,8:15
Stress ulcer prophylaxis guidelines:Are they being implemented in Lebanese health care centers?显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the current practice of stress ulcer prophylaxis (SUP) in Lebanese Health care centers.METHODS:A multi-center prospective chart review study was conducted over 8 mo.A questionnaire was distributed to pharmacy students who collected data on demographics,SUP medications, dose, route, duration and associated risk factors. The appropriateness of SUP use was determined as per American Society of Health-System Pharmacists guidelines.Institutional review board approval was obtained from each hospital center.RESULTS:A total of 1004 patients were included.67% of the patients who received prophylaxis did not have an indication for SUP.The majority (71.6%) of the patients who were administered parenteral drugs can tolerate oral medications.Overall, the regimen of acid-suppressant drugs was suboptimal in 87.6% of the sample. This misuse was mainly observed in non-teaching hospitals.CONCLUSION:This study highlighted the need,in Lebanese hospitals,to establish clinical practice guidelines for the use of SUP;mainly in non-critical care settings.Abeer Zeitoun Maya Zeineddine Hani Dimassi 2011World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pharmacology and Therapeutics2011,2,4:10
Mismatch repair genes (hMLH1, hPMS1, hPMS2, GTBP/hMSH6,HMSH2) in the pathogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM: DNA misrnatch repair (MMR) is an impotent mechanism for maintaining fidelity of genomic DNA. Abnormalities in one or more MMR genes are implicated in the development of many cancers. We investigated the role of expression of MMR genes (hMLH1, hPMS1, hPMS2, GTBP/hMSH6, hMSH2) in hepatocellular carcinogenesis. METHODS: We evaluated the expression level of MMR genes in 33 hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cases using the multiplex reverse transcription (RT) PCR assays, as well as in 16 cases of normal adjacent hepatic tissues. Β-actin gene was used as an internal control and calibrator for quantification of gene expression. RESULTS: Out of the 33 studied cases, 25 were HCV positiveand 30 (90.9%) showed reduced expression in one or more of the studied MMR genes. Reduced expression was found in hMSH2 (71.9%), hMLH1 (53.3%), GTBP (51.1%), hPMS2 (33.3%) and hPMS1 (6%). A significant correlation was found between reduced expression of hPMS2(P= 0.0069) and GTBP(P= 0.0034), hPMS2and non-cirrhosis (P= 0.0197),hMLH1 and high grade. On the other hand, 57.1%, 50%, 20%, 18.8%, and 6% of the normal tissues distant to tumors showed reduced expression of hMSH2, hMLH1, GTBP, hPMS2, and hPMS1 respectively. Multivariate analysis revealed a significant correlation between the expression level of hMSH2(P= 0.008), hMLH1 (P= 0.001) and GTBP (P = 0.032)and HCC, between hPMS2, GTBP and HCVassociated HCC (P<0.001, 0.002).CONCLUSION: Reduced expression of MMR genes seemsto play an important role in HCV-associated HCC. hPMS2 islikely involved at an early stage of hepatocarcinogenesis since it was detected in normal adjacent tissues. Reduced expression of hPMS2 provides a growth advantage and stimulates proliferation which encourages malignant transformation in non-cirrhotic HCV-infected patients via acquisition of more genetic damages.Abdel-Rahman N. 5Circulating tumor and cancer stem cells in hepatitis C virusassociated liver disease显示文摘AIM:To assess the role of circulating tumor cells(CTCs)and cancer stem cells(CSCs)in hepatitis C virus(HCV)-associated liver disease.METHODS:Blood and/or tissue samples were obtained from HCV(genotype 4)-associated hepatocellularcarcinoma patients(HCC;n=120),chronic hepatitis C patients(CH;n=30)and 33 normal control subjects(n=33).Serum levels of alpha-fetoprotein(AFP),alkaline phosphatase, and alanine and aspartate aminotransferases were measured.Cytokeratin 19(CK19)monoclonal antibody was used to enumerate CTCs,and CD133 and CD90 were used to enumerate CSCs by flow cytometry. The expression levels of the CSCs markers(CD133 and CD90)as well as telomerase, melanoma antigen encoding gene 1(MAGE1)and MAGE3 were assessed by RTPCR and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reactions. The number of CTCs and/or the expression levels of CK19,CD133,telomerase,MAGE1 and MAGE3 were correlated to the standard clinicopathologic prognostic factors and disease progression.RESULTS:Levels of AFP,alkaline phosphatase and aspartate aminotransferase were significantly different among the HCC,CH and control groups(P<0.001),whereas alanine aminotransferase differed significantly between patient(HCC and CH)and control groups(P<0.001).At the specified cutoff values determine by flow cytometry,CK19(49.8),CD90(400)and CD133(73)were significantly higher in the blood of HCC patients compared to those in the CH and control groups(P<0.001).On the other hand,CD133 at a 69.5 cutoff was significantly higher in the CH compared to the control group(P≤0.001).Telomerase,MAGE1 and MAGE3RNA were expressed in 55.71%,60.00%and 62.86%of the HCC patients, respectively, but were not detected in patients in the CH or control groups, which were statistically significant(Ps<0.001).The expression levels of telomerase,CD90,MAGE3,CD133 and CK19 were all significantly associated with high tumor grade and advanced stage in HCC patients(all P s<0.05).CONCLUSION:CTC counts and AFP,CK19,telomerase,and MAGE1/MAGE3 expression predict disease progression in patients with HCV,whereas telomerase,MAGE3,CD90,CD133 and CK19 are prognostic mark-Abeer A Bahnassy Abdel-Rahman N Zekri Ahmed El-Bastawisy Amal Fawzy Marwa Shetta Nehal Hussein Dalia Omran Abdallah A S Ahmed Samir S El-Labbody 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,48:9
Safety and efficacy of ultrasound ciliary plasty as a primary intervention in glaucoma patients显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the safety and the efficacy of the ultrasound ciliary plasty(UCP) on the intraocular pressure(IOP) control in glaucomatous eyes without previous glaucoma surgery.METHODS: A retrospective study included patients with primary and secondary glaucoma who underwent UCP in Dar Al Shifa Hospital, Kuwait between January 2017 to June 2018. High-intensity focused ultrasound procedures were performed under peribulbar anesthesia using the 2^(nd) generation probe with 8 s duration of each of the 6 shots. Complete ophthalmologic examinations were scheduled pre-treatment, and at 1 d, 1 wk, 1, 3, 6 and 12 mo posttreatment. Primary outcomes were the IOP reduction and success rates at 12 mo, while the secondary outcomes were the occurrence of vision threatening complications and visual acuity.RESULTS: The records of 62 eyes of 62 patients were analyzed with mean age of 63.8 y(67.7% males). There was statistically significant reduction in the mean IOP from 35.2±8.3 mm Hg before treatment to 20.6±8.7 mm Hg at 12^(th) month(P<0.0005) with a mean percentage IOP reduction of 42.3% with significant reduction in the mean number of antiglaucomatous drugs from 3.2±0.4 before treatment to 2.1±1.02 at 12 mo(P<0.0005). Qualified success was achieved in 77.4% of eyes at 12 mo. No major intra-or posttreatment complications were reported.CONCLUSION: Second-generation UCP prove to be effective in reducing IOP in naive glaucoma patients with lower success rates in cases of neovascular and uveitic glaucomas.Magda A.Torky Yousif A Al Zafiri Sherein M.Hagras Abeer M.Khattab Rania M.Bassiouny Tharwat H.Mokbel 2019International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2019,12,4:9
Incidence and characteristics of HBV reactivation in hematological malignant patients in south Egypt显示文摘AIM:To investigate characteristics of hepatitis B virus(HBV)implicated in HBV reactivation in patients with hematological malignancies receiving immunosuppressive therapy.METHODS:Serum samples were collected from 53 patients with hematological malignancies negative for hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg)before the start of and throughout the chemotherapy course.HBV reactivation was diagnosed when the HBsAg status changed from negative to positive after the initiation of chemotherapy and/or when HBV DNA was detected by realtime detection polymerase chain reaction(RTD-PCR).For detecting the serological markers of HBV infection,HBsAg as well as antibodies to the core antigen(antiHBc)and to the surface antigen were measured in the sera by CEIA.Nucleic acids were extracted from sera, and HBV DNA sequences spanning the S gene were amplified by RTD-PCR.The extracted DNA was further subjected to PCR to amplify the complete genome as well as the specific genomic sequences bearing the enhancerⅡ/core promoter/pre-core/core regions(nt1628-2364).Amplicons were sequenced directly.RESULTS:Thirty-five(66%)of the 53 HBsAg-negative patients were found to be negative serologically for antiHBc,and the remaining 18(34%)patients were positive for anti-HBc.Five of the 53(9.4%)patients with hematologic malignancies experienced HBV reactivation.Genotype D1 was detected in all five patients.Four types of mutant strains were detected in the S gene product of HBV strains and were isolated from 3 patients with HBV reactivation:T/S120,L143,and I126.HBV DNA was detected in the pretreatment HBsAg-negative samples in one of the five patients with HBV reactivation. In this patient, sequences encompassing the HBV full genome obtained from sera before the start of chemotherapy and at the time of de novo HBV hepatitis were detected and it showed 100%homology.Furthermore,in the phylogenetic tree, the sequences were clustered together, thereby indicating that this patient developed reactivation from an occult HBV infection.CONCLUSION:Past infection with HBV is a risk factor for HBV reactivation in Egypt.Mandatory anti-HBc screening prior to chemotherapy in patients with hematological malignancies is recommended.Abeer Elkady Sahar Aboulfotuh Elsayed Mostafa Ali Douaa Sayed Nashwa M Abdel-Aziz Amany M Ali Shuko Murakami Sayuki Iijima Yasuhito Tanaka 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,37:7

Chronic ischemic mitral valve regurgitation and surgical perspectives显示文摘Chronic ischemic mitral valve regurgitation is a result of disturbed left ventricular geometry secondary to myocardial ischemia in the absence of intrinsic mitral valve pathology. It is a common complication after myocardial infarction, and patients who have ischemic mitral regurgitation(IMR) have a worse prognosis compared to patients who have ischemic heart disease alone, and this is directly related to the severity of IMR. Medical therapy has limited efficacy, and surgical options including various repair techniques and valve replacement had been tried with variable success. Still there is intense debate among surgeons whether to interfere with moderate degree IMR at the time of coronary artery revascularization.Salah Eldien Altarabsheh Salil V Deo Abeer Rababa'h Yagthan M Obeidat Osama Haddad 2018World Journal of Cardiology2018,10,10:5
Mohammed A.EL-MAGD Ayman A.SALEH Abeer A.NAFEAA Shymaa M.EL-KOMY Mohamed A.AFIFI 2017Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2017,18,12:5
Is toxoplasmosis a potential risk factor for liver cirrhosis?显示文摘Objective:To document Toxoplasma gondii(T.gondii) antibody status in patients with liver disease, blood samples were taken from 180 hepatic patients and 180 healthy controls. Methods:Toxoplasma IgG antibody was detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and histopathological assessment of liver biopsy METAVIR score was applied.Results:Anti-T.gondii IgG antibodies were found in 32.8%of patients and in 22.2%of controls(P=0.02).Toxoplasma seropositivity was significantly associated with lymphadenopathy, history of blood transfusion and reflex impairment in patients.Chronic hepatitis C virus(HCV)and chronic HCV-related cirrhosis groups compared to chronic HBV and chronic HBV-related cirrhosis groups expressed significantly higher prevalence of T.gondii seropositivity(odds ratio(OR) =4;95%confidence interval(CI):1.3-12.6;P=0.013,OR=4.8;95%CI:1.5-14.9;P=0.006,respectively).Within the chronic HCV group,T.gondii seropositivity significantly associated disease evolution as regards to METAVIR histopathological system for fibrosis and inflammation(OR=19.4;95%CI:2.3-165.2;P=0.0008,OR=0.29;95%CI:0.1-0.8;P=0.01,respectively).Albumin,international normalized ratio(INR) and platelets count were the laboratory parameters significantly altered in Toxoplasma-positrvc chronic HCV patients(P=0.00 l,0.03,0.04,respectively).Child-Pugh scoring for cirrhosis in chronic HCV group placed the majority of seropositive patient in class C with significant statistical difference compared to Child A reference group(OR= 0.08;95%67:0.01-0.5;P=0.003).Conclusions:Toxoplasma seropositivity was high in patients with cirrhosis and associated higher grades of inflammation and necrosis signifying disease evolution, suggesting that cirrhotic patients may thus form a risk group for toxoplasmosis.Abeer Abd El-Rehim El-Henawy Ahmed Abdel-Razik Sahar Zakaria Dina Elhammady Niveen Saudy Manar Sobh Azab 2015Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2015,8,10:4
Preparation of PVC/PVP composite polymer membranes via phase inversion process for water treatment purposes显示文摘In this work, new composite membranes were successfully prepared via phase inversion technique using polyvinyl chloride(PVC) and polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) as polymers and tetrahydrofuran(THF) and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP) as solvents. The prepared membranes have been characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM), and fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy(FTIR). The scanning electron microscope results prove that the prepared membranes are smooth and their pores are distributed throughout the whole surface and bulk body of the membrane without any visible cracks. The stress–strain mechanical test showed an excellent mechanical behavior enhanced by the presence of PVP in the prepared membranes. The membranes performance results showed that the salt rejection reached 98% with a high flux. This, in turn, makes the prepared membranes can be applied for sea and brackish water treatment through membrane distillation technology.Ahmed Bhran Abeer Shoaib Doaa Elsadeq Ayman El-gendi Heba Abdallah 2018Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2018,26,4:4
Agmatine induces gastric protection against ischemic injury by reducing vascular permeability in rats显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effect of administration of agmatine(AGM) on gastric protection against ischemia reperfusion(I/R) injury.METHODS:Three groups of rats(6/group);sham,gastric I/R injury, and gastric I/R + AGM(100 mg/kg,i.p.given 15 min prior to gastric ischemia) were recruited.Gastric injury was conducted by ligating celiac artery for 30 min and reperfusion for another 30 min.Gastric tissues were histologically studied and immunostained with angiopoietin 1(Ang-1) and Ang-2.Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1) were measured in gastric tissue homogenate. To assess whether AKt/phosphatidyl inositol-3-kinase(PI3K) mediated the effect of AGM,an additional group was pretreated with Wortmannin(WM)(inhibitor of Akt/PI3K,15 μg/kg,i.p.),prior to ischemic injury and AGM treatment, and examined histologically and immunostained.Another set of experiments was run to study vascular permeability of the stomach using Evan's blue dye.RESULTS:AGM markedly reduced Evan's blue dye extravasation(3.58 ± 0.975 μg/stomach vs 1.175 ± 0.374 μg/stomach,P < 0.05),VEGF(36.87 ± 2.71 pg/100 mg protein vs 48.4 ± 6.53 pg/100 mg protein,P < 0.05) and MCP-1 tissue level(29.5 ± 7 pg/100 mg protein vs 41.17 ± 10.4 pg/100 mg protein,P < 0.01).It preserved gastric histology and reduced congestion.Ang-1 and Ang-2 immunostaining were reduced in stomach sections of AGM-treated animals. The administration of WM abolished the protective effects of AGM and extensive hemorrhage and ulcerations were seen.CONCLUSION:AGM protects the stomach against I/R injury by reducing vascular permeability and inflammation. This protection is possibly mediated by Akt/PI3K.Abeer A Al Masri Eman El Eter 2012World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,18:4
Effect of single subconjunctival injection of bevacizumab on primary pterygium:clinical, histopathological and immunohistochemical study显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the effect(clinically, histopathologically and immunohistochemically) and safety of a single intrapterygium injection of bevacizumab.METHODS:Prospective interventional study comprised 40 eyes of 40 patients with primary fleshy pterygia who attended the Outpatient Clinic of Department of Ophthalmology,Assiut University Hospitals,Egypt from May 2015 to May 2016.Patients were randomly classified into 2 groups:the first group received a single intralesional injection of bevacizumab(Avastin;Genentech,San Francisco,CA,USA);the second group comprised patients who did not receive subconjunctival bevacizumab.Excision of pterygium and conjunctival auto graft was done in both groups. The excised pterygium tissues were subjected to histopathological and immunohistochemical evaluation.RESULTS:The study comprised 40 eyes of 40 patients(33 men,7 women) of age range from 31-58 y.The study group included 22 eyes. The control group included 18 eyes.A decrease in the vascularity of the pterygium was noted in all injected cases. The mean vessel count was higher in non-injected pterygia than that in injected pterygia and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.001).Also,the mean vessel count in both groups was significantly higher than normal conjunctive(P=0.005 and 0.001).A statistically significant difference in vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) expression between injected and non-injected cases was detected in the epithelial, stromal and endothelial cells(P=0.0001,0.016,0.014).No serious intraoperative complications occurred in both groups.CONCLUSION:The use of single intra lesional injection of Avastin in pterygium decreased vascularity and decreased VEGF expression in injected pterygium after one month. Our study proved the effect of single intra lesional injection of Avastin on pterygium.Further studies may enable limiting the need for surgery and improve quality of life for patients with pterygia.Tarek A Mohamed Wael Soliman Ahmed M.Fathalla Abeer El Refaie 2018International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2018,11,5:2
Characteristics of escape mutations from occult hepatitis B virus infected patients with hematological malignancies in South Egypt显示文摘AIM To investigate the prevalence and virological characteristics of occult hepatitis B virus(HBV) infections in patients with hematological malignancies in South Egypt.METHODS Serum samples were collected from 165 patients with hematological malignancies to monitor titers of HBV DNA, hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag), and antibodies to HBV core(anti-HBc) and surface antigens. Serum samples negative for HBs Ag and positive for anti-HBc were subjected to nucleic acid extraction and HBV DNA detection by real-time polymerase chain reaction. DNA sequences spanning the S region were analyzed in cases with occult HBV infection. In vitro comparative study of constructed 1.24-fold wild type and S protein mutant HBV genotype D clones was further performed. RESULTS HBV DNA was detected in 23(42.6%) of 54 patients with hematological malignancies who were HBsA g negative, but anti-HBc positive, suggesting the presence of occult HBV infection. The complete HBV genome was retrieved from 6 occult HBV patients, and P120 T and S143 L were detected in 3 and 2 cases, respectively. Site directed mutagenesis was done to produce 1.24-fold genotype D clones with amino acid mutations T120 and L143. The in vitro analyses revealed that a lower level of extracellular HBsA g was detected by chemiluminescence enzyme immunoassay(CLEIA) with the clone containing T120 mutation, compared with the wild type or the clone with S143 L mutation despite the similar levels of extracellular and intracellular HBs Ag detected by Western blot. Southern blot experiments showed that the levels of intracellular HBV DNA were not different between these clones. CONCLUSION Occult HBV infection is common in patients with hematological malignancies and associated with P120 T and S143 L mutations. 120 T mutation impairs the detection of HBsA g by CLEIA.Abeer Elkady Sayuki Iijima Sahar Aboulfotuh Elsayed Mostafa Ali Douaa Sayed Nashwa M Abdel-Aziz Amany M Ali Shuko Murakami Masanori Isogawa Yasuhito Tanaka 2017World Journal of Hepatology2017,9,9:2
Production, characterization and biological activities of acidic exopolysaccharide from marine Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 3MS 2017显示文摘Objective: To evaluate in-vitro antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antitumor abilities against human breast adenocarcinoma(MCF7) and human prostate cancer(PC3) as well as the suppressor effect of bacterial exopolysaccharide(BAEPS) on Ehrlich ascites carcinoma(EAC). Methods: In-vitro antioxidants characters of BAEPS were determined using various methods, while anti-inflammatory activity was estimated against cyclooxygenase(COX-1 and COX-2). In-vitro study, anticancer against MCF7 and PC3 were assessed by the mitochondrial dependent reduction of yellow MTT. In in-vivo study against EAC progression, mice were inoculated with EAC cells and then were orally administered BAEPS at 200 mg/kg after 24 h(equals to 0.10 of determined LD50)/10 d. Results: BAEPS was acidic exopolysaccharide contained uronic acid(12.3%) and sulfate(22.8%) with constitution of glucose, galactose and glucuronic acid in a molar ratio1.6: 1.0: 0.9, respectively, with a molecular mass of 3.76伊104 g/mol. BAEPS appeared potent antioxidant characters as free radical scavenging, oxygen reactive species scavenging and metal chelation, while its reducing power was low. BAEPS showed selective anti-inflammatory activity against COX-2 than COX-1, COX-2 selective. BAEPS exhibited potent and selective effect to breast cell cancer MCF7, the death percentage was 65.20% with IC_(50)=70 μg/m L and IC_(90)=127.40 μg/m L. BAEPS decreased counted viable EAC cells and induced non-viable cells. BAEPS improved all assessed hematological parameters. These improvements were reflected in the increasing median survival time and significant increment(P<0.05) in life span. Conclusions: BAEPS has anti-tumor activity with a good margin of safety. The anti-tumor activity of BAEPS may be due to its content from sulfated groups and uronic acids and they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.Samah A.El-Newary Abeer Y.Ibrahim Mohsen S.Asker Manal G.Mahmoud Mohamed E.El Awady 2017Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2017,10,7:2

Space time fractional KdV Burgers equation for dust acoustic shock waves in dusty plasma with non-thermal ions显示文摘The KdV–Burgers equation for dust acoustic waves in unmagnetized plasma having electrons, singly charged nonthermal ions, and hot and cold dust species is derived using the reductive perturbation method. The Boltzmann distribution is used for electrons in the presence of the cold(hot) dust viscosity coefficients. The semi-inverse method and Agrawal variational technique are applied to formulate the space–time fractional KdV–Burgers equation which is solved using the fractional sub-equation method. The effect of the fractional parameter on the behavior of the dust acoustic shock waves in the dusty plasma is investigated.Emad K.El-Shewy Abeer A.Mahmoud Ashraf M.Tawfik Essam M.Abulwafa Ahmed Elgarayhi 2014Chinese Physics B2014,23,7:2
Deep Learning Prediction Model for Heart Disease for Elderly Patients显示文摘The detection of heart disease is a problematic task in medical research. This diagnosis utilizes a thorough analysis of the clinical tests from the patient’s medical history. The massive advances in deep learning models pursue the devel-opment of intelligent computerized systems that aid medical professionals to detect the disease type with the internet of things support. Therefore,in this paper,we propose a deep learning model for elderly patients to aid and enhance the diag-nosis of heart disease. The proposed model utilizes a deeper neural architecture with multiple perceptron layers with regularization learning techniques. The mod-el performance is verified with a full and minimum set of features.Fewer features enhance the processing time of the classification process while the accuracy is compromised. The performance of classifiers with less features has been analyzed with experimental results. The proposed system is built on the Internet of Things Platform for medical data for the classification process which aids medical profes-sionals to detect heart diseases through cloud platforms. The results accuracy is matched to classical learning models such as Convolutional Neural Network(CNN),Deep CNN,and neural ensemble models. The analysis of the proposed diagnostic system can determine the heart disease risks efficiently.Experimental results demonstrate thatflexible modeling and tuning of the hyperparameters can attain an accuracy of up to 97.11%.Abeer Abdulaziz AlArfaj Hanan Ahmed Hosni Mahmoud 2023Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,,2:2
Identification of PtGai(a DELLA protein)in trifoliate orange and expression patterns in response to drought stress显示文摘Gibberellins(GAs)are an important hormone in regulating plant growth and development, and DELLA protein is an essential negative regulator of GA signal transduction. The aim of the study was to clone a GAinhibiting protein DELLA from trifoliate orange(Poncirus trifoliata L.Raf.)and to analyze the bioinformations and expression patterns of the protein gene in tissues and in response to drought stress.A DELLA protein was isolated from trifoliate orange and named as PtGai(Genebank number:MZ170959).The PtGai protein had 1731 bp open reading frames, along with 576 amino acid codes, and also grouped with sweet orange(XM_006430552.4).The PtGai protein sequence was 65%homology with the sequences of DELLA proteins in other plant families.PtGai protein existed in the nucleus based on the prediction of subcellular localization.PtGai protein could be expressed in roots, stems, and leaves, along with the highest expression in stems.PtGai was upregulated by drought stress in leaves and roots, along with the decrease of root total GA concentration and the inhibition of shoot and root biomass production. It indicated the characteristics of PtGai protein and the roles of PtGai in GA synthesis and plant growth.XIAOFEN CHENG ABEER HASHEM ELSAYED FATHI ABD_ALLAH QIANGSHENG WU KAMIL KUČA 2021BIOCELL2021,45,6:2
