8Hyphenated LC-ABTS$t and LC-DAD-HRMS for simultaneous analysis and identification of antioxidant compounds in Astragalus emarginatus Labill.extracts显示文摘The compounds in leaf and stem extracts of Astragalus emarginatus Labill.(AEL),a plant species used in traditional Lebanese medicine,were investigated for antioxidant properties.First,the activity of various extracts was assessed using the Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity,oxygen radical absorption capacity,and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl-hydrate assays.The extract obtained using 30%ethanol showed the greatest activity.The antioxidant compounds in this extract were screened using a hyphenated high-performance liquid chromatography-2,2-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate)radical(ABTS$t)system before being separated by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography and identified using high-resolution mass spectrometry and ultra-violet-visible diode array detection.Approximately 40 compounds were identified.Hydroxycinnamates(caffeic,ferulic,and p-coumaric acid derivatives)and flavonoids(quercetin,luteolin,apigenin,and isorhamnetin derivatives)were the two main categories of the identified compounds.The active compounds were identified as caffeic acid derivatives and quercetin glycosides.In addition,the catechol moiety was shown to be key to antioxidant activity.This study showed that AEL is a source of natural antioxidants,which may explain its medicinal use.Abir Chamandy Minjie Zhao Hassan Rammal Saïd Ennahar 2022Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2022,12,2:0
9Soil-Structure Interaction Effects on Dynamic Behaviour of Transmission Line Towers显示文摘As inferred from earthquake engineering literature,considering soil structure interaction(SSI)effects is important in evaluating the response of transmission line towers(TLT)to dynamic loads such as impulse loads.The proposed study investigates the dynamic effects of SSI on TLT behavior.Linear and non-linearmodels are studied.In the linearmodel,the soil is represented by complex impedances,dependent of dynamic frequency,determined from numerical simulations.The nonlinearmodel considers the soil non-linear behavior in its material constitutive law and foundation uplift in a non-linear time history analysis.The simplified structure behavior of a typical lattice transmission tower is assessed.The analysis of frequency and time domain are followed through varying soil stiffness and damping values.Three different shock durations are investigated.The soil-structure system with equivalent dynamic properties is determined.The behaviors achieved utilizing a rigid and a flexible base for the structures is compared to estimate the impact of taking SSI into account in the calculation.The current mainstream approach in structural engineering,emphasizing the importance of the SSI effect,is illustrated using an example where the SSI effect could be detrimental to the structure.Furthermore,the non-linear analysis results are analyzed to show the linear approach’s limitations in the event of grand deformations.Abir Jendoubi Frédéric Legeron 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,1:0
