| 9 | The conditional mitochondrial protein complexome in the Arabidopsis thaliana root and shoot显示文摘Protein complexes are important for almost all biological processes.Hence,to fully understand how cells work,it is also necessary to characterize protein complexes and their dynamics in response to various cellular cues. Moreover, the dynamics of protein interaction play crucial roles in regulating the(dis)association of protein complexes and,in turn, regulating biological processes such as metabolism. Here, mitochondrial protein complexes were investigated by blue native PAGE and size-exclusion chromatography under conditions of oxidative stress in order to monitor their dynamic(dis)associations.Rearrangements of enzyme interactions and changes in protein complex abundance were observed in response to oxidative stress induced by menadione treatment. These included changes in enzymatic protein complexes involving g-amino butyric acid transaminase(GABA-T),D-ornithine aminotransferase(D-OAT),or proline dehydrogenase 1(POX1)that are expected to affect proline metabolism.Menadione treatment also affected interactions between several enzymes of the tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle and the abundance of complexes of the oxidative phosphorylation pathway. In addition,we compared the mitochondrial complexes of roots and shoots.Considerable differences between the two tissues were observed in the mitochondrial import/export apparatus, the formation of super-complexes in the oxidative phosphorylation pathway, and specific interactions between enzymes of the TCA cycle that we postulate may be related to the metabolic/energetic requirements of roots and shoots. | Youjun Zhang Silvia Martinez Jaime Mustafa Bulut Alexander Graf Alisdair R.Fernie | 2023 | Plant Communications2023,4,5: | 0 |
| 10 | Achieving high union rates after first metatarsophalangeal joint arthrodesis:Radiographic outcomes and technical pitfalls显示文摘BACKGROUND Fusion of the first metatarsophalangeal(MTP1)joint is a common surgery performed to correct hallux rigidus, hallux rigidus et valgus and other painful degenerative diseases of the MTP1.AIM To assess outcomes of our surgical technique including non-union rates, accuracy and aims of correction.METHODS Between September 2011 and November 2020 a total 72 of MTP1 fusions were performed using a low profile,pre-contoured dorsal locking plate and a plantar compression screw.Union and revision rates were analyzed with a minimum clinical and radiological follow up of at least 3 mo(range 3-18 mo).The following parameters were evaluated on pre-and postoperative conventional radiographs:Intermetatarsal angle,Hallux-valgus angle, dorsal extension of the proximal phalanx(P1)in relation to the floor and the angle between the Metatarsal 1 and the P1(MT1-P1 angle).Descriptive statistical analysis was performed.Pearson analysis was used to assess for correlations between radiographic parameters and achievement of fusion.RESULTS An overall union rate of 98.6%(71/72)was achieved. Two out of 72 patients did not primarily fuse with one patient suffering from a non-union,whilst the other demonstrating a radiological delayed union without clinical symptoms, with eventually complete fusion after 18 mo.There was no correlation between the measured radiographic parameters and the achievement of fusion. We believe the reason for the non-union was mainly attributed to the patient’s incompliance without wearing the therapeutic shoe leading to a fracture of the P1.Furthermore,we didn`t find any correlation between fusion and the degree of correction.CONCLUSION With our surgical technique, high union rates(98%)can be achieved using a compression screw and a dorsal variable-angle locking plate to treat degenerative diseases of the MTP1. | Christian von Deimling Timo Tondelli Samuel Brunner Octavian Andronic Alexander David Graf | 2023 | World Journal of Orthopedics2023,14,6: | 0 |
| 11 | One decade(2011–2020)of European agricultural water stress monitoring by MSG-SEVIRI:workflow implementation on the Virtual Earth Laboratory(VLab)platform显示文摘Cloud computing facilities can provide crucial computing support for processing the time series of satellite data and exploiting their spatio-temporal information content. However, dedicated efforts are still required to develop workflows, executable on cloud-based platforms, for ingesting the satellite data, performing the targeted processes, and generating the desired products. In this study,an operational workflow is proposed, based on monthly Evaporative Stress Index(ESI)anomaly, and implemented in cloud-based online Virtual Earth Laboratory(VLab)platform,as a demonstration,to monitor European agricultural water stress. To this end, daily time-series of actual and reference evapotranspiration(ETa and ET0),from the Spinning Enhanced Visible and Infrared Imager(SEVIRI)sensor, were used to execute the proposed workflow successfully on VLab.The execution of the workflow resulted in obtaining one decade(2011–2020)of European monthly agricultural water stress maps at 0.04˚spatial resolution and corresponding stress reports for each country. To support open science, all the workflow outputs are stored in GeoServer, documented in GeoNetwork, and made available through MapStore. This enables creating a dashboard for better visualization of the results for end-users.The results from this study demonstrate the capability of VLab platform for water stress detection from time series of SEVIRI-ET data. | Bagher Bayat Carsten Montzka Alexander Graf Gregory Giuliani Mattia Santoro Harry Vereecken | 2022 | International Journal of Digital Earth2022,15,1: | 0 |
