4Spectrophotometer with enhanced sensitivity for uric acid detection显示文摘A spectrophotometer with an LED as the light source for uric acid detection is proposed in this work. The mechanism of uric acid detection is based on energy absorbed by sodium urate, which is a chemical product of uric acid and sodium hydroxide solution. For the performance validation, comparison between the spectrophotometer with an LED and halogen lamp is carried out. Measurement results suggest that the spectrophotometer system with LED light has better sensitivity than that with halogen light. At a 460 nm wavelength,the sensitivity for the spectrophotometer with an LED is 0.0046 dL/mg, which is 73% higher than that with halogen light that records 0.0012 dL/mg. This enhanced sensitivity is attributed to the higher luminous efficacy of the LED light beam. As a result, a larger amount of flux interacts with the sample, leading to the sensitivity enhancement. The spectrophotometer with an LED is also applied for the detection of uric acid in a real human urine sample. Based on the experimental data at a 460 nm wavelength, the method manages to achieve the sensitivity of 0.0016 dL/mg, accuracy of 96.01%, limit of detection of 4.79 mg/dL, and limit of quantification of 14.52 mg/dL. 5Identification of voltage sag source location using S and TT transformed disturbance power显示文摘An alternative method was introduced for voltage sag source location based on S and TT transformed disturbance powers. It is done to avoid the wrong and inconclusive detection of conventional disturbance power method proposed in the literature. Unlike in the case of the traditional method, the proposed method first transforms the recorded voltage and current during the sag event to some special features before calculating the new version of disturbance powers. The effectiveness of the proposed method has been verified through simulation and actual data from an industrial power system. 8Improved Semi-empirical Model of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Incorporating Fault Diagnostic Feature显示文摘The membrane water content of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC)is the most important feature required for water management of the PEMFC system.Any improper management of water in the fuel cell may lead to system faults.Among various faults,flooding and drying faults are the most frequent in the PEMFC systems.This paper presents a new dynamic semi-empirical model which requires only the load current and temperature of the PEMFC system as the input while providing output voltage and membrane water content as its major outputs.Unlike other PEMFC systems,the proposed dynamic model calculates the internal partial pressure of oxygen and hydrogen rather than using special internal sensors.Moreover,the membrane water content and internal resistances of PEMFC are modelled by incorporating the load current condition and temperature of the PEMFC system.The model parameters have been extracted by using a quantum lightening search algorithm as an optimization technique,and the performance is validated with experimental data obtained from the NEXA 1.2 k W PEMFC system.To further demonstrate the capability of the model in fault detection,the variation in membrane water content has been studied via the simulation.The proposed model could be efficiently used in prognostic and diagnosis systems of PEMFC fault.Saad Saleem Khan Hussain Shareef Ahmad Asrul Ibrahim 2021Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2021,9,6:1

13Optimizing Optical Attocells Positioning of Indoor Visible Light Communication System显示文摘Visible light communication(VLC),which is a prominent emerging solution that complements the radio frequency(RF)technology,exhibits the potential to meet the demands of fifth-generation(5G)and beyond technologies.The random movement of mobile terminals in the indoor environment is a challenge in the VLC system.The model of optical attocells has a critical role in the uniform distribution and the quality of communication links in terms of received power and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).As such,the optical attocells positions were optimized in this study with a developed try and error(TE)algorithm.The optimized optical attocells were examined and compared with previous models.This novel approach had successfully increased minimum received power from−1.29 to−0.225 dBm,along with enhanced SNR performance by 2.06 dB.The bit error rate(BER)was reduced to 4.42×10−8 and 6.63×10−14 by utilizing OOK-NRZ and BPSK modulation techniques,respectively.The optimized attocells positions displayed better uniform distribution,as both received power and SNR performances improved by 0.45 and 0.026,respectively.As the results of the proposed model are optimal,it is suitable for standard office and room model applications.Mohammed S.M.Gismalla Asrul I.Azmi Mohd R.Salim Farabi Iqbal Mohammad F.L.Abdullah Mosab Hamdan Muzaffar Hamzah Abu Sahmah M.Supa’at 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,2:0
14Modelling and Performance Analysis of Visible Light Communication System in Industrial Implementations显示文摘Visible light communication(VLC)has a paramount role in industrial implementations,especially for better energy efficiency,high speed-data rates,and low susceptibility to interference.However,since studies on VLC for industrial implementations are in scarcity,areas concerning illumination optimisation and communication performances demand further investigation.As such,this paper presents a new modelling of light fixture distribution for a warehouse model to provide acceptable illumination and communication performances.The proposed model was evaluated based on various semi-angles at half power(SAAHP)and different height levels for several parameters,including received power,signal to noise ratio(SNR),and bit error rate(BER).The results revealed improvement in terms of received power and SNR with 30 Mbps data rate.Various modulations were studied to improve the link quality,whereby better average BER values of 5.55×10^(−15) and 1.06×10^(−10) had been achieved with 4 PAM and 8 PPM,respectively.The simulation outcomes are indeed viable for the practical warehouse model.Mohammed S.M.Gismalla Asrul I.Azmi Mohd R.Salim Farabi Iqbal Mohammad F.L.Abdullah Mosab Hamdan Muzaffar Hamzah Abu Sahmah M.Supa’at 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,77,11:0

17Optical Path Length,Temperature,and Wavelength Effects Simulation on Ozone Gas Absorption Cross Sections towards Green Communications显示文摘Ozone is a green house gas. Ozone absorption cross sections have been reported with discrepancies and inconsistencies. In this paper, simultaneous effects of the optical path length and temperature variations on ozone gas absorption cross sections are investigated at different wavelengths. HITRAN 2012, the latest available line list on spectralcalc.com simulator, is used in this study to simulate ozone gas absorption cross sections in relation to the simultaneous effects of the optical path length and temperature at the wavelengths of 603 nm and 575 nm. Results obtained for gas cells with the optical path length from 10 cm to 120 cm show that the decrease in temperatures from 313 K to 103 K results in the increase in ozone gas absorption cross sections. At wavelengths of 603 nm and 575 nm, the percentage increase of ozone gas absorption cross sections is 1.22% and 0.71%, respectively. Results obtained in this study show that in the visible spectrum, at constant pressure, ozone gas absorption cross sections are dependent on the temperature and wavelength but do not depend on the optical path length.
