1基于微酸性电解水喷雾的挡风墙对蛋种鸡舍氨气和细菌气溶胶的减排研究显示文摘畜禽舍内空气污染物的排放会严重危害周边环境和居民健康。基于微酸性电解水喷雾的挡风墙净化排出空气具有良好的应用前景。本研究试验探索了基于微酸性电解水喷雾的挡风墙对蛋种鸡舍氨气和细菌气溶胶的减排效果。结果表明,有效氯70mg/L的微酸性电解水喷雾的挡风墙对氨气的减排效果高于自来水喷雾,其减排效率分别为13.2%和8.8%,但是两者差异不显著。70mg/L和100mg/L的微酸性电解水喷雾的挡风墙都能有效减少微生物气溶胶的排放,其效率都在40%左右,两者差异不显著。基于微酸性电解水喷雾的挡风墙能够有效减少畜禽舍氨气和细菌气溶胶的排放,但需要进一步优化设计,提高减排效率。郑炜超 李宗刚 Sanjay B.Shah 李保明 2017中国农业文摘(农业工程)2017,29,4:5
2Peripheral nerve lengthening as a regenerative strategy显示文摘Peripheral nerve injury impairs motor, sensory, and autonomic function, incurring substantial financial costs and diminished quality of life. For large nerve gaps, proximal lesions, or chronic nerve injury, the prognosis for recovery is particularly poor, even with autografts, the current gold standard for treating small to moderate nerve gaps. In vivo elongation of intact proximal stumps towards the injured distal stumps of severed peripheral nerves may offer a promising new strategy to treat nerve injury. 3Redistribution of nerve strain enables end-to-end repair under tension without inhibiting nerve regeneration显示文摘End-to-end repair under no or low tension leads to improved outcomes for transected nerves with short gaps,compared to repairs with a graft.However,grafts are typically used to enable a tension-free repair for moderate to large gaps,as excessive tension can cause repairs to fail and catastrophically impede recovery.In this study,we tested the hypothesis that unloading the repair interface by redistributing tension away from the site of repair is a safe and feasible strategy for end-to-end repair of larger nerve gaps.Further,we tested the hypothesis that such an approach does not adversely affect structural and functional regeneration.In this study,we used a rat sciatic nerve injury model to compare the integrity of repair and several regenerative outcomes following end-to-end repairs of nerve gaps of increasing size.In addition,we proposed the use of a novel implantable device to safely repair end-to-end repair of larger nerve gaps by redistributing tension away from the repair interface.Our data suggest that redistriubution of tension away from the site of repair enables safe end-to-end repair of larger gap sizes.In addition,structural and functional measures of regeneration were equal or enhanced in nerves repaired under tension – with or without a tension redistribution device – compared to tension-free repairs.Provided that repair integrity is maintained,end-to-end repairs under tension should be considered as a reasonable surgical strategy.All animal experiments were performed under the approval of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of University of California,San Diego(Protocol S11274).Holly M.Howarth Turki Alaziz Brogan Nicolds Shawn O'Connor Sameer B.Shah 2019Neural Regeneration Research2019,14,7:2

5Anti-leukemic and anti-angiogenic effects of D-Limonene on K562-implanted C57BL/6 mice and the chick chorioallantoic membrane model显示文摘Background: D-Limonene, a monoterpene from citrus fruit has been found to have chemopreventive and chemotherapeutic activities in various types of cancers. In this study, we evaluated the in vivo effect of D-Limonene on a K562-induced model of chronic myeloid leukemia(CML) in C57 BL/6 mice.Method: The tail vein injection model of K562 cells in immunocompromised C57 BL/6 mice was developed and evaluated for characteristics of the disease. The mice were treated with D-Limonene and evaluated for haematological parameters. We also evaluated the effect of D-Limonene on angiogenesis using the chick chorioallantoic membrane(CAM) assay.Results: In a complete blood count, a significant dose-dependent reduction in white blood cell, neutrophil and lymphocyte counts, but an elevation in red blood cell count and haemoglobin content was observed with D-Limonene treatment compared to the disease control or untreated group. 7Short-duration transient visual evoked potentials and color reflectivity discretization analysis in glaucoma patients and suspects显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the use of short-duration transient visual evoked potentials(VEP) and color reflectivity discretization analysis(CORDA) in glaucomatous eyes,eyes suspected of having glaucoma,and healthy eyes.METHODS: The study included 136 eyes from 136 subjects: 49 eyes with glaucoma,45 glaucoma suspect eyes,and 42 healthy eyes.Subjects underwent Humphrey visual field(VF) testing,VEP testing,as well as peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer optical coherence tomography imaging studies with post-acquisition CORDA applied.Statistical analysis was performed using means and ranges,ANOVA,post-hoc comparisons using Turkey's adjustment,Fisher's Exact test,area under the curve,and Spearman correlation coefficients.RESULTS: Parameters from VEP and CORDA correlated significantly with VF mean deviation(MD)(P<0.05).In distinguishing glaucomatous eyes from controls,VEP demonstrated area under the curve(AUC) values of 0.64-0.75 for amplitude and 0.67-0.81 for latency.The CORDA HR1 parameter was highly discriminative for glaucomatous eyes vs controls(AUC=0.94).CONCLUSION: Significant correlations are found between MD and parameters of short-duration transient VEP and CORDA,diagnostic modalities which warrant further consideration in identifying glaucoma characteristics.Michael Waisbourd Rebekah H.Gensure Ardalan Aminlari Sonya B.Shah Nitasha Khanna Neil Sood Jeanne Molineaux Alberto Gonzalez Jonathan S.Myers L.Jay Katz 2017International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2017,10,2:1
8Clinical potential of tensionlengthening strategies during nerve repair显示文摘A(very)brief history of tension in nerve repair:Successful nerve repair is achieved by conveying as many axons successfully to their targets as possible.Typically,this is best achieved through a direct end-to-end repair under minimal tension(Millesi,1986).However,this is not feasible in most cases of trauma,where a segment of tissue damage must be excised and overcome.This has most commonly been addressed with the use of nerve grafts to bridge the gap.Autologous nerve grafts are considered the gold standard,with allograft or synthetic substitutes demonstrating some success over shorter distances.Despite their utility,autologous grafts pose challenges of their own.These include functional deficit in the donor distribution(typically sensory),extended operative duration,additional scarring,and a lack of intrinsic blood supply.They are also a poor anatomical match for the stumps being bridged,both internally(disparate neuronal size and composition)as well as externally(often requiring cabled bundles to approximate the caliber of the nerve being repaired).Finally,unlike end-to-end repairs,autologous grafts also require axons to traverse a second repair interface,where a large proportion of axons are lost across the anatomical discontinuity.Stanley Bazarek Justin M.Brown Sameer B.Shah 2022Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,4:0

10A Study of Gaugeon Formalism for QED in Lorentz Violating Background显示文摘At the energy regimes close to Planck scales, the usual structure of Lorentz symmetry fails to address certain fundamental issues and eventually breaks down, thus paving the way for an alternative road map. It is thus argued that some subgroup of proper Lorentz group could stand consistent and might possibly help us to circumvent this problem.It is this subgroup that goes by the name of Very Special Relativity(VSR). Apart from violating rotational symmetry,VSR is believed to preserve the very tenets of special relativity. The gaugeon formalism due to type-I Yokoyama and type-II Izawa are found to be invariant under BRST symmetry. In this paper, we analyze the scope of this invariance in the scheme of VSR. Furthermore, we will obtain VSR modified Lagrangian density using path integral derivation.
