| 1 | Experimental study of curvature effects on jet impingement heat transfer on concave surfaces显示文摘Experimental study of the local and average heat transfer characteristics of a single round jet impinging on the concave surfaces was conducted in this work to gain in-depth knowledge of the curvature effects.The experiments were conducted by employing a piccolo tube with one single jet hole over a wide range of parameters:jet Reynolds number from 27000 to 130000,relative nozzle to surface distance from 3.3 to 30,and relative surface curvature from 0.005 to 0.030.Experimental results indicate that the surface curvature has opposite effects on heat transfer characteristics.On one hand,an increase of relative nozzle to surface distance(increasing jet diameter in fact)enhances the average heat transfer around the surface for the same curved surface.On the other hand,the average Nusselt number decreases as relative nozzle to surface distance increases for a fixed jet diameter.Finally,experimental data-based correlations of the average Nusselt number over the curved surface were obtained with consideration of surface curvature effect.This work contributes to a better understanding of the curvature effects on heat transfer of a round jet impingement on concave surfaces,which is of high importance to the design of the aircraft anti-icing system. | Zhou Ying Lin Guiping Bu Xueqin Bai Lizhan Wen Dongsheng | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2017,30,2: | 6 |
| 2 | Cultivation effects on soil texture and fertility in an arid desert region of northwestern China显示文摘In arid desert regions of northwestern China, reclamation and subsequent irrigated cultivation have become effective ways to prevent desertification, expand arable croplands, and develop sustainable agricultural production. Improvement in soil texture and fertility is crucial to high soil quality and stable crop yield. However, knowledge on the long-term effects of the conversion of desert lands into arable croplands is very limited. To address this problem, we conducted this study in an arid desert region of northwestern China to understand the changes in soil physical-chemical properties after 0, 2, 5, 10, 17, and 24 years of cultivation. Our results showed that silt and clay contents at the 17-year-old sites increased 17.5 and 152.3 folds, respectively, compared with that at the 0-year-old sites. The soil aggregate size fraction and its stability exhibited an exponential growth trend with increasing cultivation ages, but no significant change was found for the proportion of soil macroaggregates(>5.00 mm) during the 17 years of cultivation. The soil organic carbon(SOC) content at the 24-year-old sites was 6.86 g/kg and increased 8.8 folds compared with that at the 0-year-old sites. The total(or available) nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium contents showed significant increasing trends and reached higher values after 17(or 24) years of cultivation. Changes in soil physical-chemical properties successively experienced slow, rapid, and stable development stages, but some key properties(such as soil aggregate stability and SOC) were still too low to meet the sustainable agricultural production. | 3 | Experimental study on ceramic membrane technology for onboard oxygen generation显示文摘The ceramic membrane oxygen generation technology has advantages of high concentration of produced oxygen and potential nuclear and biochemical protection capability. The present paper studies the ceramic membrane technology for onboard oxygen generation. Comparisons are made to have knowledge of the effects of two kinds of ceramic membrane separation technologies on oxygen generation, namely electricity driven ceramic membrane separation oxygen generation technology(EDCMSOGT) and pressure driven ceramic membrane separation oxygen generation technology(PDCMSOGT). Experiments were conducted under different temperatures, pressures of feed air and produced oxygen flow rates. On the basis of these experiments, the flow rate of feed air, electric power provided, oxygen recovery rate and concentration of produced oxygen are compared under each working condition. | 4 | Reducing children’s exposure to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate in homes and kindergartens in China:Impact on lifetime cancer risks and burden of disease显示文摘Exposure to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP)in the indoor environment has been linked with significant health risks for Chinese children.Multi-phase DEHP concentrations in Chinese residences and kindergartens were estimated using a mass balance model based on the current baseline condition and control strategies(i.e.,increasing ventilation rate,reducing area of sources,using mechanical ventilation systems,and using portable air cleaners).The health benefits of each control strategy were quantified as the reduction in lifetime cancer risks(LCR)and burden of disease(BoD).In the current situation,the mean LCR and disability-adjusted life years(DALY)number attributable to indoor DEHP exposure for Chinese children were around 6.0×10^(−6) and 155 thousand,respectively.The mean LCR and DALY might be reduced by 25%-54%and 16%-40%,respectively,by increasing air exchange rates by 100%,reducing the use of source materials by two-thirds or deploying commercial air cleaners in naturally ventilated buildings.Meanwhile,avoidable DALYs could result in a reduction of mean economic losses of 2.2-5.3 billion RMB.Mechanical ventilation systems with filtration units may not be helpful for reducing children’s health risks.House-specific and tailor-made control measures are critical in lowering indoor exposure to DEHP to promote sustainable buildings and children’s health in China. | Dongsheng Tao Wen Sun Donghui Mo Yonghui Lin Wei Lv Daniel Mmereki Yousheng Xu Yanghui Ye Yuanjun Tang Chao Ye Cong Dong Zhongming Bu | 2024 | Building Simulation2024,17,3: | 0 |
