| 1 | Solvent de binding of water soluble binder in powder injection moulding显示文摘The solvent debinding of water soluble binder in powder injection moulding (MIM) was investigated systematically, including the effects of solvent types, temperature and the thickness of green parts on the solvent debinding rate. After studying the debinding of a green part with a thickness of 4.26 mm, it was found that, the debinding rate of polyethylene glycol(PEG) in water and alcohol was high initially, and then decreased; however, it would increase with temperature increasing. At room temperature, the dissolution rate of PEG in water was higher than that in alcohol, but the latter would be much faster with temperature increasing because the debinding activation energy in alcohol was 51.44 kJ·mol -1 ·K -1 , much higher than 24.23 kJ·mol -1 ·K -1 in water. | 3 | Preparation of Li-B Alloy and Study of Its Microstructure and Discharge Characteristics显示文摘A Li-B alloy has been prepared using a pretreated amorphous B powder and pure Li ingot as starting materials by continually slow addition of B powder and intensified stirring in the process of melting. The microstructure and the discharge characteristic of the materials have been investigated. Results show that the problem of temperature control in synthesis would be modified by means of continual addition of B powder, the Li7B6 would be more finely distributed in the metal Li by means of intensified Stirring. | 10 | Carbide Formation Process in Directionally Solidified MAR-M247 LC Superalloy显示文摘Carbide nucleation, growth and trapping behavior in directionally solIdified MAR-M247 LC alloyand the corresponding mechanism have been investigated. Carbide forming element enrichmentcontrols the carbide nucleation and the carbide growth behavior. If the carbide forming elementenrichment and the nucleation sites are suitable, carbide nucleation can occur both above andbelow the liquidus temperature. Heterogeneous carbide nucleation is the preferred nucleationmechanism at low carbide forming element enrichment. Carbide growth occurs mainIy at inter-secondary ry dendrite arm area and lower part of the mushy zone. The carbides are subsequentlytrapped at these positions after growing to a certain size. Some carbides are only partially trappedby the solid-liquid interface and the carbide growth accelerates after being partially trapped. Acritical growth rate exists between 2×10-6 m/s and 5 ×10-6 m/s. | 15 | Improving Densification and Mechanical Properties of FeAl/TiC Composites by Addition of Ni显示文摘FeAl/TiC composites were fabricated by hot pressing blended elemental powders. The effects of Ni-doping on thedensification and mechanical properties of the composites were studied. Results show that the density of the com-posites decreases with the content of TiC increasing, and the addition of Ni significantly improves the densificationprocess by enhancing mass transfer in the bonding phase. The mechanical properties of the composites are closelyrelated with their porosity. | 16 | Martensitic Transformation and Magnetic-Field-Induced Strain in Magnetic Shape Memory Alloy NiMnGa Melt-Spun Ribbon显示文摘A magnetic shape memory alloy with nonstoichiometric Ni5oMn27Ga23 was prepared by using melt-spinning technology. The martensitic transformation and the magnetic-field-induced strain (MFIS) of the polycrystalline melt-spun ribbon were investigated. The experimental results showed that the melt-spun ribbons underwent thermal-elastic martensitic transformation and reverse transformation in cooling and heating process and exhibited typical thermoelastic shape memory effect. However the start temperature for martensitic transformation decreased from 286 K for as-cast alloy to 254 K for as-quenched ribbon and Curie temperature remains approximately constant. A particular internal stress induced by melt-spinning resulted in the formation of a texture structure in the ribbons, which made the ribbons obtain larger martensitic transformation strain and MFIS. | 17 | Processing TiAl-Based Alloy by Elemental Powder Metallurgy显示文摘TiAl-based alloys with various compositions (including Ti-48Al, Ti-47Al-2Cr-2Nb, Ti-47Al-2Cr- 2Nb-0.2B and Ti-47Al-3Cr, in mole fraction) had been prepared by elemental powder metallurgy (EPM). The results have shown that the density of the prepared Ti-48Al alloy increases with increasing hot pressing temperature up to 1300℃. The Ti-48Al alloy microstructure mainly consisted of island-like Ti3Al phase and TiAl matrix at hot pressing temperature below 1300℃, however, coarse a2/r lamellar colonies and r grains appeared at 1400℃. It has also indicated that the additions of elemental Cr and B can refine the alloy microstructure. The main microstructural inhomogeneity in EPM TiAl-based alloys was the island-like a2 phase or the aggregate of a2/r lamellar colony, and such island-like structure will be inherited during subsequent heat treatment in (a+r) field. Only after heat treatment in a field would this structure be eliminated. The mechanical properties of EPM TiAl-based alloys with various compositions were tested, and the effect of alloy elements on the mechanical properties was closely related to that of alloy elements on the alloy microstructures. Based on the above results, TiAl-based alloy exhaust valves were fabricated by elemental powder metallurgy and diffusion joining.
