1Mesenchymal stem cells for cartilage regeneration in osteoarthritis显示文摘Osteoarthritis(OA) is a slowly progressive disease where cartilage of the synovial joint degenerates. It is most common in the elderly where patients experience pain and reduce physical activity. In combination with lack of conventional treatment, patients are often left with no other choices than arthroplasty. Over the last years, multipotent stromal cells have been used in efforts to treat OA. Mesenchymal stem/progenitor cells(MSCs) are stromal cells that can differentiate into bone, fat, and cartilage cells. They reside within bone marrow and fat. MSCs can also be found in synovial joints where they affect the progression of OA. They can be isolated and proliferated in an incubator before being applied in clinical trials. When it comes to treatment, emphasis has hitherto been on autologous MSCs, but allogenic cells from healthy donors are emerging as another source of the cells. The first adaptations of MSCs revolved in the use of cellrich matrix, delivered as invasive surgical procedure, which resulted in production of hyaline cartilage and fibrocartilage. However, the demand for less invasive delivery of cells has prompted the use of direct intraarticular injections, wherein a large amount of suspended cells are implanted in the cartilage defect.Baldur Kristjánsson Sittisak Honsawek 2017World Journal of Orthopedics2017,8,9:9

3Unburned Carbon Loss in Fly Ash of CFB Boilers Burning Hard Coal显示文摘The unburned carbon loss in fly ash of circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers, most of which are burning active fuels such as lignite or peat, is normally very low. However, most CFB boilers in China usually burn hard coals such as anthracite and bituminous coal and coal wastes, so the carbon content in the fly ash from these boilers is higher than expected. This paper investigates the source of unburned carbon in the fly ash of CFB boilers burning hard coal through a series of field tests and laboratory investigations. The char behavior during combustion, including fragmentation and deactivation, which is related to the parent coal, has an important impact on the carbon burnout in CFB boilers. The research shows that char deactivation occurs during char burnout in fluidized bed combustion, especially for large particles of low rank coal. The uneven mixing of solids and air in the core region of the furnace also causes poor burnout of carbon in CFB fly ash. An index describing the volatile content (as dry ash free basis) over the heating value is proposed to present the coal rank. The coal combustion efficiency is shown to be strongly connected with this coal index. 15A NEW PATHWAY OF GAS-TO-LIQUID CONVERSION USING CATALYTIC DIELECTRIC-BARRIER DISCHARGE显示文摘A new pathway of gas-to-liquid conversion, directly from methane and carbon dioxide, was established recently using a catalytic dielectric-barrier discharge (DBD) with zeolite. Direct fuel synthesis becomes possible at reaction conditions close to ambient ones. The products from such direct fuel synthesis include alkanes, alkenes, oxygenates and Syngas (CO + H2). The product distribution is similar to that from Fischer-Tropsch(F-T) synthesis but it does not follow the Flory-Schulz kinetics.
