1Milled flaxseed-added diets ameliorated hepatic inflammation by reducing gene expression of TLR4/NF-κB pathway and altered gut microbiota in STZ-induced type 1 diabetic mice显示文摘Flaxseed has displayed the potential beneficial as functional foods.However,most studies focused on effects of flaxseed extracts or ingredients in flaxseed.Besides,few studies showed that flaxseed extracts contributed to anti-type 1 diabetes(T1D),yet the underlying mechanism is still unknown.In the present study,16.7% of milled flaxseed(MF)-added diet was given to diabetic mice induced by streptozocin for 6 weeks.The results showed that MF feeding 1)slightly decreased blood glucose levels and improved the ability of glucose tolerance by oral glucose tolerance test,2)decreased liver tumor necrosis factor-αlevels and increased liver glycogen levels with significance via down-regulating TLR4/NF-κB pathways,3)and significantly altered some beneficial bacteria in gut microbiota.In conclusion,the present study showed that milled flaxseed showed the potential on anti-T1D through anti-inflammation via TLR4/NF-κB and altering the gut microbiota in STZ-induced diabetic mice.Hui Xia Xiangling Shi Beijia Zhou Jing Sui Chao Yang Hechun Liu Ligang Yang Shaokang Wang Guiju Sun 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,1:3
2PV Array Reconfiguration Based on the Shaded Cells'Number for PV Modules显示文摘Reconfiguration can increase the output power for a PV array under partial shadows.However,traditional reconfiguration methods consider the PV module as either totally shaded or totally unshaded,and module-based simulation is employed to evaluate the reconfiguration effect.Actually,there is an unneglectable error when treating a partially shaded PV module as totally shaded,through using a more accurate cellbased simulation.Based on the analysis of the determinant factors on MPPs’power of a PV array,a new reconfiguration method is proposed based on the exact partial shadow shape projected on the PV array.This method restructures the electrical connection among PV modules of a PV array according to the shaded cells’number(SCN)of every PV module.Extensive cell-based simulations are carried out on a PV array to verify the effectiveness of the proposed SCN-based reconfiguration method.Comprehensive comparisons among various reconfiguration methods and shadow distributions clearly show its suitability to different irregular shadows and its superiority in PV output power enhancement.Jun Qi Xun Huang Beijia Ye Dan Zhou 2023CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2023,9,2:0

4Evaluation of navigation performances of GPS devices near interchange area pertaining to wrong-way driving显示文摘Based on past studies,exit ramp terminals are the common locations for drivers to enter a physically separated highway in the wrong direction.Currently,many drivers,especially nonlocal drivers,often rely on voice-guided navigation apps and Global Positioning System(GPS) devices to navigate their routes on and off freeways.A few studies have reported that GPS devices sometimes give drivers wrong information and cause wrong-way entry into a freeway,especially at some confusing interchanges,such as partial cloverleaf and compressed diamond interchanges.The access points located close to exit ramps may also cause a problem for GPS devices in sending accurate voice-guidance.It is unknown if current GPS devices are capable of properly informing drivers regarding turning movements in advance of exit ramp terminals at some common interchanges.The objective of this study is to evaluate the most commonly used GPS devices/navigation apps to identify existing problems and their potential for reducing wrong-way driving(WWD) incidents at interchange terminals.Field experiments were conducted at 10 common freeway interchanges or interchanges with nearby access driveways in the state of Alabama.Results show that most GPS devices have difficulty in providing correct guidance when the spacing between an access point and an exit ramp is less than 300 feet.Our comparison of five different GPS devices used on the same routes reveals that navigation apps have more limitations in guiding drivers than stand-alone GPS devices.Recommendations are offered to help GPS mapping companies improve their devices or add new features to reduce the occurrence of WWD.Mohammad Jalayer Huaguo Zhou Beijia Zhang 2016Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2016,3,6:0
