1在亚洲的 colorectal 癌症幸存率和预后的概述显示文摘 Colorectal cancer is a rapidly rising trend in Asia.The incidence in many Asian countries is on par with the West.Several studies have provided data regarding the survival of patients with colorectal cancer.In Asia,the overall cure rate of colorectal cancer has not improved dramatically in the last decade,5-year survival remaining at approximately 60%.Colorectal cancer survival time has increased in recent years,but mortality rate remains high.Although studies have determined a number of factors that can predict survival of patients after diagnosis,life expectancy has not been increased dramatically.It seems that among the prognostic factors explored so far,the most important are those that relate to early diagnosis of cancer.Primary detection is feasible since efficient screening modalities are available.Colonoscopic surveillance is needed,especially in subjects at higher risk.Bijan Moghimi-Dehkordi Azadeh Safaee 2012World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2012,4,4:16
2Analysis of pressure characteristics under laminar and turbulent flow states inside the pilot stage of a deflection flapper servo-valve:Mathematical modeling with CFD study and experimental validation显示文摘Electro-hydraulic servo-valves are widely used components in the mechanical industry,aerospace and aerodynamic devices which precisely control the airplane or missile wings.Due to the small size and complex structure in the pilot stage of deflection flapper servo-valves,accurate mathematical models for the flow and pressure characteristics have always been very difficult to be built.In this paper,mathematical models for the pilot stage of deflection flapper servo-valve are investigated to overcome some gaps between the theoretical formulation and overall performance of the valve by considering different flow states.Here,a mathematical model of the velocity distribution at the flapper groove exit is established by using Schlichting velocity equations for incompressible laminar fluid flow.Moreover,when the flow becomes turbulent,a mathematical model of pressure characteristics in the receiving ports is built on the basis of the assumption of the collision between the liquid and the jet as the impact of the jet on a moving block of fluid particles.To verify the analytical models for both laminar and turbulent flows,the pressure characteristics of the deflection flapper pilot stage are calculated and tested by using numerical simulation and experiment.Experimental verification of the theory is also presented.The computed numerical and analytical results show a good agreement with experimental data.Bijan Krishna SAHA Songjing LI Xinbei LV 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,3:6

4Numerical investigation of the velocity field and separation efficiency of deoiling hydrocyclones显示文摘Three-dimensional simulation of a multiphase flow is performed using the EulerianEulerian finite volume method in order to evaluate the separation efficiency and velocity field of deoiling hydrocyclones.The solution is developed using a mass conservation-based algorithm(MCBA) with collocated grid arrangement.The mixture approach of the Reynolds stress model is also employed in order to capture features of turbulent multiphase swirling flow.The velocity field and separation efficiency of two different configurations of deoiling hydrocyclones are compared with available experimental data.The comparison shows that the separation efficiency can be predicted with high accuracy using computational fluid dynamics.The velocity fields are also in good agreement with available experimental velocity measurements.Special attention is drawn to swirl intensity in deoiling hydrocyclones and it is shown that the differences in velocity and volume fraction fields of different configurations are related to swirl distribution.MADDAHIAN Reza ASADI Mohammad FARHANIEH Bijan 2012Petroleum Science2012,9,4:4

6Essential Oil from Citrus aurantium Alleviates Anxiety of Patients Undergoing Coronary Angiography: A Single-Blind, Randomized Controlled Trial显示文摘Objective To determine the effectiveness and safety of essential oil from Citrus aurantium on anxiety in patients undergoing coronary angiography.Methods A single-blind,randomized controlled trial was conducted in 80 patients experiencing coronary angiography in Imam Ali Hospital in Kermanshah,Iran from April to November in 2016.All patients were randomly divided into intervention and control groups by a random number table,40 cases in each group.The patients in the intervention group inhaled Citrus aurantium essential oil for 15–20 min about 60 min before angiography.Following the same procedure,distilled water was used instead of Citrus aurantium in the control group.Spielbergers State-Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI)was filled in and vital signs including systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),respiratory and pulse rate were recorded before and 20 min after the intervention.Adverse reactions after intervention were observed.Results In the intervention group,the mean scores of STAI,SBP,DBP,respiratory and pulse rate were 53.30±10.13,134.82±11.75 mm Hg,84.49±6.99 mm Hg,17.87±1.73 times/min,and 76.48±12.55 beats/min at baseline and significantly decreased to 42.37±10.15,124.49±10.48 mm Hg,79.23±6.62 mm Hg,14.54±1.43 times/min,and 70.03±13.66 beats/min respectively 20 min after intervention(all P<0.05);however,in the control group,neither anxiety scores nor vital signs changed significantly(P>0.05).All subjects reported no adverse reactions.Conclusion Inhalation of the essential oil from Citrus aurantium was effective in reducing anxiety and stress levels in patients undergoing coronary angiography.Khalil Moradi Hossein Ashtarian Nicholas Yakubu Danzima Hamid Saeedi Behrouz Bijan Farzaneh Akbari Mohammad Mehdi Mohammadi 2021Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,3:4
7Emerging vaccine nanotechnology: From defense against infection to sniping cancer显示文摘Looking retrospectively at the development of humanity, vaccination is an unprecedented medical landmark that saves lives by harnessing the human immune system. During the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) pandemic, vaccination is still the most effective defense modality. The successful clinical application of the lipid nanoparticle-based Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna mRNA COVID-19 vaccines highlights promising future of nanotechnology in vaccine development. Compared with conventional vaccines, nanovaccines are supposed to have advantages in lymph node accumulation,antigen assembly, and antigen presentation;they also have, unique pathogen biomimicry properties because of well-organized combination of multiple immune factors. Beyond infectious diseases, vaccine nanotechnology also exhibits considerable potential for cancer treatment. 8Are body mass index and waist circumference significant predictors of diabetes and prediabetes risk: Results from a population based cohort study显示文摘AIM To determine the predictive role of body mass index(BMI) and waist circumference(WC) for diabetes and prediabetes risk in future in total sample as well as in men and women separately. METHODS In a population based cohort study, 1765 with mean ± SD age: 42.32 ± 6.18 healthy participants were followed up from 2003 till 2013(n = 960). Anthropometric and biochemical measures of participants were evaluated regularly during the follow up period. BMI and WC measures at baseline and diabetes and prediabetes status of participants at 2013 were determined. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used for determining the risk of diabetes and prediabetes considering important potential confounding variables. Receiver operatingcharacteristic curve analysis was conducted to determine the best cut of values of BMI and WC for diabetes and prediabetes. RESULTS At 2013, among participants who had complete data, 45 and 307 people were diabetic and prediabetic, respectively. In final fully adjusted model, BMI value was a significant predictor of diabetes(RR = 1.39, 95%CI: 1.06-1.82 and AUC = 0.68, 95%CI: 0.59-0.75; P < 0.001) however not a significant risk factor for prediabetes. Also, WC was a significant predictor for diabetes(RR = 1.2, 95%CI: 1.05-1.38 and AUC = 0.67, 95%CI: 0.6-0.75) but not significant risk factor for prediabetes. 9Effect of alumina content and heat treatment on microstructure and upconversion emission of Er^(3+)ions in oxyfluoride glass-ceramics显示文摘The effect of alumina content and heat treatment temperature and time, on microstructure and Er3+ (0.5 mol.%) emission of oxy-fluoride glass-ceramics were investigated in this research. Two values of 1.8 (SA1.8Er0.5) and 2.18 (SA2.18Er0.5) were selected in this re-search for SiO2/Al2O3 ratio. According to DTA results, precursor glasses were heat treated at 630, 660 and 690 °C for 4 h and some glasses were also heat treated at 630 °C for 48 and 72 h. The results indicated that alumina content had significant effect on phase separation and vis-cosity of the glasses. Therefore the size, size distribution, and volume concentration of nano CaF2 crystals which precipitated during the heat treatment depended on alumina content of the glass. Due to the much smaller size of the precipitated CaF2 crystals in the glasses of low alumina content, these samples maintained excellent transparency and had narrower crystal size distribution than the high alumina glasses. The crystal size was increased markedly with the temperature increasing from 630 to 690 °C. On the other hand a slight increase was observed in the crystal size by raising the heat treatment time in both glasses. Results indicated that in low alumina content glass (SA2.18Er0.5) the size of CaF2 nanocrystals was controlled in one order of magnitude. The increase of heat treatment time and temperature led to the incorporation of Er3+ ions into CaF2 crystalline phase, increasing significantly the upconversion intensity. 11Split liver transplantation in adults显示文摘Split liver transplantation(SLT),while widely accepted in pediatrics,remains underutilized in adults. Advancements in surgical techniques and donor-recipient matching,however,have allowed expansion of SLT from utilization of the right trisegment graft to now include use of the hemiliver graft as well. Despite less favorable outcomes in the early experience,better outcomes have been reported by experienced centers and have further validated the feasibility of SLT. Importantly,more than two decades of experience have identified key requirements for successful SLT in adults. When these requirements are met,SLT can achieve outcomes equivalent to those achieved with other types of liver transplantation for adults. However,substantial challenges,such as surgical techniques,logistics,and ethics,persist as ongoing barriers to further expansion of this highly complex procedure. 13Estimating stock closing indices using a GA-weighted condensed polynomial neural network显示文摘Accurate forecasting of changes in stock market indices can provide financial managers and individual investors with strategically valuable information.However,predicting the closing prices of stock indices remains a challenging task because stock price movements are characterized by high volatility and nonlinearity.This paper proposes a novel condensed polynomial neural network(CPNN)for the task of forecasting stock closing price indices.We developed a model that uses partial descriptions(PDs)and is limited to only two layers for the PNN architecture.The outputs of these PDs along with the original features are fed to a single output neuron,and the synaptic weight values and biases of the CPNN are optimized by a genetic algorithm.The proposed model was evaluated by predicting the next day’s closing price of five fast-growing stock indices:the BSE,DJIA,NASDAQ,FTSE,and TAIEX.In comparative testing,the proposed model proved its ability to provide closing price predictions with superior accuracy.Further,the Deibold-Mariano test justified the statistical significance of the model,establishing that this approach can be adopted as a competent financial forecasting tool.Sarat Chandra Nayak Bijan Bihari Misra 2018Financial Innovation2018,4,1:3
14Dual effects of sodium sulfide on the flotation behavior of chalcopyrite:Ⅰ. Effect of pulp potential显示文摘This study explores the flotation behavior of chalcopyrite in the presence of different concentrations of sodium sulfide(Na2S·9H2O) at pH 12 under controlled potential conditions.It was observed that the flotation of chalcopyrite is not depressed completely when the pulp potential is low,even at high concentrations of sodium sulfide,i.e.,10-1–10-2 mol/L.However,a partial and controlled oxidation of pulp does enhance the effectiveness of sodium sulfide on the depression of chalcopyrite.Characterization of the chalcopyrite particle surface by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy allowed the identification of hydrophilic and hydrophobic surface species,which are responsible for the depression and flotation of chalcopyrite.Changes in pulp potential were found to be an effective float controlling parameter,by which Na2S can be used to initiate or depress the flotation behavior of chalcopyrite.Bijan Taheri Mahmoud Abdollahy Sied Ziaedin Shafaei Tonkaboni Soheyla Javadian Mohammadreza Yarahmadi 2014International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2014,21,5:3

17Effect of indomethacin on electrical field stimulation-induced contractions of isolated transverse and longitudinal rat gastric fundus strips显示文摘AIM: To study the effects of indomethacin on the isolated transverse and longitudinal rat gastric fundus strips.METHODS: The strips were suspended in an organ bath containing oxygenated Krebs solution, and contractile responses to electrical field stimulation were recorded on a physiograph in an isotonic manner after administration of cumulative concentrations of indomethacin. The effects of indomethacin on the strips pretreated with KATP channel modulators, diazoxide and glybenclamide were studied.RESULTS: Treatment of the transverse strips with indomethacin resulted in a concentration-dependent inhibitory response. In longitudinal strips, biphasic responses were seen, which included a stimulatory response at low concentrations of indomethacin, followed by an inhibitory response at higher concentrations.Diazoxide pre-treatment inhibited the stimulatory response of longitudinal strips. Glybenclamide pre-treatment not only blocked inhibitory effect of the low concentrations of indomethacin on transverse strips, but also increased the amplitude of contractions.
