| 1 | Percent free prostate-specific antigen for prostate cancer diagnosis in Chinese men with a PSA of 4.0-10.0 ng/mL:Results from the Chinese Prostate Cancer Consortium显示文摘Objective:To test the diagnostic performance of percent free prostate-specific antigen(%fPSA)in predicting any prostate cancer(PCa)and high-grade prostate cancer(HGPCa)in a retrospective multi-center biopsy cohort with a PSA level of 4.0e10.0 ng/mL in China.Methods:Consecutive patients with a PSA of 4.0-10.0 ng/mL who underwent transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy were enrolled at 16 Chinese medical centers from January 1st,2010 to December 31st,2013.Total and free serum PSA determinations were performed using three types of electro-chemiluminescence immunoassays recalibrated to the World Health Organization(WHO)standard.The diagnostic accuracy of PSA,%fPSA,and %fPSA in combination with PSA(%fPSA t PSA)was determined using the area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC).Results:A total of 2310 consecutive men with PSA levels between 4.0 and 10.0 ng/mL were included,and the detection rate of PCa was 25.1%.The AUC of%fPSA and %fPSA t PSA in predicting any PCa was superior to PSA alone in men aged≥60 years(0.623 vs.0.534,p<0.0001)but not in men aged 40e59 years(0.517 vs.0.518,p=0.939).Similar result was yield in predicting HGPCa.Conclusion:In a clinical setting of Chinese men with 4.0e10.0 ng/mL PSA undergoing initial prostate biopsy,adding %fPSA to PSA can moderately improve the diagnostic accuracy for any PCa and HGPCa compared with PSA alone in patients≥60 but not in patients aged 40-59 years. | Rui Chen Liping Xie Xiaobing Cai Yiran Huang Liqun Zhou Lulin Ma Xu Gao Chuanliang Xu Shancheng Ren Pengfei Shao Danfeng Xu Kexin Xu Zhangqun Ye Chunxiao Liu Dingwei Ye Li Lu Qiang Fu Jianquan Hou Jianlin Yuan Dalin He Tie Zhou Fubo Wang Biming He Yinghao Sun | 2015 | Asian Journal of Urology2015,2,2: | 8 |
| 2 | Screening of phenolic compounds in australian grown grapes and their potential antioxidant activities显示文摘Grapes(Vitis Vinifera)are one of the world's most utilised and prized fruit.Grapes are a great source of antioxidants due to the abundance of phenolic compounds.Grape pulp is the main part of the grape being consumed.The pulp of five Australian grown grapes–Dawn Seedless(DS),Calmeria(CG),Golden Globe(GG),Menindee Seedless(MS),and Thompson Seedless(TS)will be qualitatively and quantitatively analysed for its phenolic composition and antioxidant capacity.The general trend followed:GG>TS>MS>DS>CG,and the phenolic content of the pulp also presented a significant positive correlation with the antioxidant capacity.GG revealing the highest levels of TPC(4.31±0.11 mg GAE/g)and TFC(0.48±0.09 mg QE/g)while TS were highest in TTC(0.94±0.12 mg CE/g).Similarly,GG exhibited higher antioxidant capacity in DPPH(5.84±0.17 mg AAE/g),FRAP(4.91±0.14 mg AAE/g),and TAC(6.78±0.12 mg AAE/g),while TS revealed highest radical scavenging ability for ABTS(4.56±0.19 mg AAE/g).The LC-ESI-QTOF-MS/MS tentatively identified 78 phenolic compounds consisting of flavonoids(36),phenolic acids(31),lignans(3),stilbenes(1),and other polyphenols(7)in five grapes samples.Ten most abundant fruit-based targeted polyphenols were quantified.GG had a higher phenolic concentration in HPLC-PDA quantification,particularly for phenolic acids(gallic acid and chlorogenic acid)and flavonoids(kaempferol).Our study provides relatively adequate information on grape pulp's phenolic content and antioxidant capacity,providing confidence and research prospects to promote grape pulp use in different food,pharmaceutical and supplement industries,and even influencing grape cultivation. | Gia Toan Vo Ziyao Liu Osbert Chou Biming Zhong Colin J.Barrow Frank R.Dunshea Hafiz A.R.Suleria | 2022 | Food Bioscience2022,47,3: | 2 |

| 10 | Enhanced removal of phosphonates from aqueous solution using PMS/UV/hydrated zirconium oxide process显示文摘Traditional treatment processes cannot completely remove phosphonates in circulating cooling water by one-step method. Herein, we designed peroxymonosulfate/UV irradiation/hydrated zirconium oxide(PMS/UV/HZO) coupling process to enhance the phosphonates removal. In particular, nitrilotrismethylenephosphonic acid(NTMP) removal efficiency by PMS/UV/HZO process was much higher than that of PMS/UV process, UV/HZO process and other processes in comparison experiments. Specifically,almost 97.2% NTMP in water was degraded, and the total phosphorous(TP) reduced from 9.3 mg/L to 0.26 mg/L at pH 7 within 180 min. TP removal efficiency still reached above 90% after 5 cycles adsorptiondesorption of HZO. Moreover, Cl^(-), NO_(3)-and SO_(4)^(2-)ions all had negligible effect on NTMP removal. During the process, NTMP was first destroyed to form phosphates and other intermediates by the reactive oxygen species(ROS), then phosphates were in situ immobilized via HZO adsorption. Sulfate radical(SO_(4)^(·-))has been confirmed to be the major ROS in the reaction system by quenching experiment and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR) characterization. And the excellent selective adsorption capacity of HZO for phosphate produced was attributed to the strong inner-sphere coordination between H_(2)PO_(4)-/HPO_(4)^(2-)and Zr-OH on the surface of HZO.
