1The ion chemistry of surface and ground waters in the Taklimakan Desert of Tarim Basin,western China显示文摘The physio-chemical and chemical features of water in natural conditions are controlled by the weath-ering of bedrocks,local climate,landforms and other geo-environmental parameters. In order to un-derstand the characteristics of water and the origins of the dissolved loads in the rivers and in the ground waters of the Taklimakan Desert,western China,we studied the ions in the water samples col-lected from rivers and wells. We collected water samples from four rivers (Keriya River,Cele River,Tumiya River and Yulongkashi River) in the southern desert and ground water samples from many parts of the desert. Major cations and anions were measured using ion-chromatograph and titration with HCl. The total dissolved solids (TDS),pH and conductivity were examined on site by a portable multi-parameter analyzer. The data show that the water in the rivers of southern Taklimakan is still of fresh water quality and slight alkalinity,although the TDS is comparatively higher than that of many other rivers of the world. The ground water is fresh to slightly saline,with TDS a little higher than that of river water in the study area. The concentration of ions is slightly different between the four rivers in the southern Taklimakan. However,the chemistries of ground water in all samples are to a large degree controlled by sodium and chloride. The ions in the ground water are concluded to be mainly from dissolving of evaporites,consistent with the dry climate in the region,whereas the ions in the rivers are mainly from rock weathering. 2Image detection and verification of visual navigation route during cotton field management period显示文摘In order to meet the actual operation demand of visual navigation during cotton field management period,image detection algorithm of visual navigation route during this period was investigated in this research.Firstly,for the operation images under natural environment,the approach of color component difference,which is applicable for cotton field management,was adopted to extract the target characteristics of different regions inside and outside cotton field.Secondly,the median filtering method was employed to eliminate noise in the images and realize smoothing process of the images.Then,according to the regional vertical cumulative distribution graph of the images,the boundary characteristic of the cotton seedling region was obtained and the central position of the cotton seedling row was determined.Finally,the detection of the candidate points cluster was realized,and the navigation route was extracted by Hough transformation passing the known point.The testing results showed that the algorithms could rapidly and accurately detect the navigation route during cotton field management period.And the average processing time periods for each frame image at the emergence,strong seedling,budding and blooming stages were 41.43 ms,67.83 ms,68.80 ms and 74.05 ms,respectively.The detection has the advantage of high accuracy,strong robustness and fast speed,and is simultaneously less vulnerable to interference from external environment,which satisfies the practical operation requirements of cotton field management machinery.Jingbin Li Rongguang Zhu Bingqi Chen 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,6:4

10Climate change and water security in the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains显示文摘Water security is under threat worldwide from climate change. A warming climate would accelerate evaporationand cryosphere melting, leading to reduced water availability and unpredictable water supply. However, thewater crisis in the Northern Slope of Tianshan Mountains(NSTM) faces dual challenges because water demandsforfast-growing urban areas have put heavy pressure on water resources. The mountain-oasis-desert system featuresglacier-fed rivers that sustain intensive water use in the oasis and end in the desert as fragile terminal lakes.The complex balance between water conservation and economic development is subtle. This paper investigateschanges in hydroclimatic variables and water security-related issues on the NSTM. The spatiotemporal variationsin glaciers, climatic variables, rivers, lakes and reservoirs, groundwater, surface water, human water use, andstreamflow were analyzed for the past four decades. The results show that temperature in the NSTM exhibitedan apparent upward trend with a more significant warming rate in the higher altitude regions. Glacier massloss and shrinkage was strong. The average annual streamflow increased from 1980-1989 to 2006–2011 at mosthydrological stations. The monthly dynamics of surface water area showed notable variability at both inter-annual and seasonal scales, revealing the impacts of both natural and anthropogenic drivers on surface wateravailability in the region. The terrestrial water storage anomaly showed a decreasing trend, which might berelated to groundwater pumping for irrigation. Human water use for agriculture and industry grew with theincrease in cultivated land area and gross domestic product (GDP). The increased agricultural water use wasstrongly associated with the expansion of oases. It is unclear whether water availability would remain high underfuture climatic and hydrological uncertainties, posing challenges to water management. In the context of rapidurban growth and climate change, balancing water for humans and nature is vital in achieving the SustainableDevelopment Goals (SDGs) in NSTM. This study provides a baseline understanding of the interplay among water,climate change, and socio-economic development in NSTM. 11IMPA2 blocks cervical cancer cell apoptosis and induces paclitaxel resistance through p53-mediated AIFM2 regulation显示文摘Cervical cancer continues to be a concern,and the prognosis of locally advanced cervical cancer remains poor.IMPA2 was previously identified as a potential oncogene and regulator of tumor apoptosis.In this study,we aim to further elucidate the underlying mechanisms of IMPA2 gene in the regulation of cervical cancer apoptosis.First,we identify AIFM2 as an upregulated gene in IMPA2-silenced cervical cancer cells,and inhibition of AIFM2 reverses IMPA2 knockdown-induced apoptosis.Further study reveals that AIFM2 regulates cell apoptosis in a mitochondrial-dependent manner with a redistribution of mitochondrial membrane potential and intracellular Ca^(2+) levels.However,the analysis of the STRING database and our experimental results show that AIFM2 has little effect on cervical cancer progression and survival.Further mechanistic study demonstrates that IMPA2 and AIFM2 silencing inhibits apoptosis by activating p53.Meanwhile,the knockdown of IMPA2 enhances the chemosensitivity of cervical cancer cells by strengthening paclitaxel-induced apoptosis.Based on the above results,the IMPA2/AIFM2/p53 pathway may be a new molecular mechanism for paclitaxel treatment of cervical cancer and an effective strategy to enhance the sensitivity of cervical cancer cells to paclitaxel.Our findings display a novel function of IMPA2 in regulating cell apoptosis and paclitaxel resistance mediated by a disturbance of AIFM2 and p53 expression,potentially making it a novel therapeutic target for cervical cancer treatment.Kexin Xie Lei Liu Min Wang Xianping Li Bingqi Wang Sheng Yin Wanxin Chen Yingrui Lin Xiaolin Zhu 2023Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,4:0
12Geomorphological Evolution and Palaeoenvironmental Change in the Western Alashan Plateau, China显示文摘Although neotectonic activity is considered to be the main factor of the terrain evolution of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau and its surrounding high-altitude areas,further geomorphological analysis and literature analysis are needed for the understanding of the geomorphic evolution and the Quaternary environment change of the western area of the Alxa Plateau near the northern Tibet Plateau.The purpose of this study is to investigate the distribution of site-specific geomorphic units of the landforms developed in the vast topography of Ejina Basin(Western Alxa),in order to identify the geostructural and climatic causes of the geomorphic landscape and its impact on the change of paleoenvironment.At present,the climate and hydrological conditions in Ejina are relatively monotonous and stable.In addition to tectonic dynamic factors,the most widely distributed landform in the basin is climate landform.There are both geomorphological and sedimentological anomalies of Aeolian landforms occurred in the whole basin,indicating that the underlying surface effect(retention effect)of river(Ejina River)and its related uneven ground and weak wind erosion(deflation)process in the nearby area may be the important factors controlling the formation of Ejina dunes,rather than the arid climate.It is believed that the extensive interaction between the aeolian and fluvial processes is the main mechanism of the regional geomorphic difference in Ejina Basin.According to the comparability of regional geomorphology and sedimentology,the period of the formation of relic geomorphology in the edge of Ejina Basin can be reasonably attributed to the local glacial maximum of the last glacial.The geomorphic transformation from quasi plain and desert valley to desert plain,the appearance of widely moving sand dunes and the presence of large ancient lake geomorphology all indicate that the drought index of Ejina Basin is increasing on the scale of geomorphic formation.Paleogeomorphological and chronological evidences show that the climatic and hydrological conditions of the basin in the last glacial period and the early Holocene are much better than those at present.For example,the average annual precipitation in the area before 39-23ka BP is between 60-350 mm(about 36 mm today),but there are large waves in the Holocene.The coexistence of various climates and landforms in Ejina Basin and the resulting geomorphic diversity should be the composite result of various geomorphic processes and surface processes besides glaciation.The low aridity(relative humidity)in the Ejina Region in the late Pleistocene may be the result of the enhancement of the westerly rain belt and the weakening of the Asian Winter Monsoon in the arid region of Central Asia.Bingqi Zhu 2020Journal of Geological Research2020,2,1:0
13The recent evolution of dune landforms and its environmental indications in the mid-latitude desert area(Hexi Corridor)显示文摘The history of dune landform changes and dust activity at mid-latitudes is a good archive for exploring environmental changes and related landscape response.In this study,the dynamic changes,material sources,dust activity history and the influencing factors of typical sand dunes in the Hexi Corridor were comprehensively analyzed from the aspects of aeolian geomorphology,grain-size sedimentology,geochemistry and climatology.The results show that in the past half century,the typical crescent-shaped dunes and chains of crescent-shaped dunes in the study area have moved or swayed greatly,with an average speed ranging from 0.8 m/a(Dunhuang)to 6.2 m/a(Minqin).The dynamic changes of sand dunes are mainly affected by annual precipitation,annual average wind speed and annual gale days,which indicates that climate is the primary influencing factor of dune landform changes.The three-stage grain-size curve model of dune sands is obviously different from that of gobi sediments(two-stage),revealing the“immaturity”of the latter in sedimentology,while the former has experienced efficiently aeolian differentiation and non-local origin.The comprehensive evidences of paleogeography,sedimentology and geochemistry reveal that the source materials of sand dunes are mainly alluvial/proluvial and palaeo-fluvial sediments,including clastic sediments in the denudation/erosion zones of the north and south piedmonts.Indicators such as the proportion of surface fine particles,the coverage of surface salt crusts,and the content of erodible sandy materials indicate that the western gobi areas are not the main source areas of wind-blown dust in the central and eastern parts of the Hexi Corridor.The spatial distribution of the movement direction of sand dunes is similar to that of the regional dominant wind direction,which indicates that the difference in the dynamic evolution of dune landforms between the east and west of the Hexi Corridor should be controlled by the regional-scale wind system,that is,controlled by the dynamic mechanism rather than the difference in material sources.The warming and humidification of the Hexi climate is a synchronous response to the global warming and the strengthening of the Asian Summer Monsoon.It is also the main reason for the reduction of dust storms in the study area,which means that a potential inverse desertification process exists in the Hexi Corridor during the same period and it is also controlled by climate change.However,the process of desertification in the oasis areas during the period is caused by groundwater fluctuation affected by human activities.ZHU Bingqi 2022Journal of Geographical Sciences2022,32,4:0
