1The multiple-kinase inhibitor lenvatinib inhibits the proliferation of acute myeloid leukemia cells显示文摘Background:Current chemotherapy for acute myeloid leukemia(AML)mainly involves cytotoxic agents such as doxorubicin(DNR),mitoxantrone(Mito)or 2‐aminopurine‐6‐thiol(6‐TG).However,because these agents are relatively ineffective, discovering other more effective drugs for AML treatment would be valuable. Methods:The in vitro antitumor effect of lenvatinib on AML cells was examined using the colorimetric MTT assay for assessing cell metabolic activity.AML cells mixed with Poloxamer 407 were injected into nude mice to form subcutaneous tumors.Tumorbearing mice received lenvatinib by oral administration. The antitumor effect of lenvatinib was established by measuring tumor volumes and weights. Results:Lenvatinib inhibited the growth of AML cells in a dose‐dependent manner. We used AML cells to establish subcutaneous tumor tissues by mixing the cell suspension with Poloxamer 407.Poloxamer 407 alone did not influence the subcutaneous growth of AML cells.Treatment of lenvatinib inhibited in vivo tumor growth of AML cells. Conclusion:The multiple‐kinase inhibitor lenvatinib inhibits the in vitro proliferation of AML cells, and restricts the in vivo growth of AML tumors.Fan Feng Xiaojuan Li Ruisheng Li Boan Li 2019Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2019,2,3:2
2Changes of lymphocyte subsets in patients with COVID-19 and clinical significance:a case-control observational study显示文摘Objective:To investigate and analyze changes of T lymphocyte and other lymphocyte subsets in the peripheral blood of patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),with the goal of improving clinical understanding and the value of research applications. Methods:General data of 66 confirmed COVID-19 patients admitted to the Fifth Medical Center of Beijing PLA General Hospital from January 2 to March 23,2020 were collected in this retrospective case-control observational study, and they were divided into mild(n=26),mid-grade(n=19),and severe/critical disease groups(n=21)according to disease severity.Neutrophils,lymphocytes,neutrophil/lymphocyte ratios,CD4 absolute counts,CD8 absolute counts, and CD4/CD8 expression ratios of peripheral whole blood among the three patient groups were compared. The study protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Fifth Medical Center,General Hospital of Chinese PLA(approval No.2020-69-D)on May 5,2020.Results:Among the 66 COVID-19 patients examined,38 were male and 28 were female, with an average age of 53±17years.Among patients,26 cases were mild,19 cases were mid-grade,and 21 cases were severe/critical.Neutrophils,neutrophil/lymphocyte ratios, and CD4^(+)/CD8^(+)ratios of the severe/critical group were significantly higher compared with mild and mid-grade groups(P<0.01);however,there was no obvious difference between mid-grade and mild groups(P>0.05).Lymphocytes,CD4 absolute counts, and CD8^(+)absolute counts of the severe/critical group were significantly lower compared with mild and mid-grade groups(P<0.01);however,there was no significant difference between mid-grade and mild groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Counts of lymphocytes and T lymphocytes in severe/critically ill patients were decreased, which is of great significance for the identification of severe and critical COVID-19 patients.Guang Yang Fan Feng Xue Li Tian Zhang Xiang Li Boan Li 2021Journal of Bio-X Research2021,4,1:1

5Co_(2)P/CoP heterostructures with significantly enhanced performance in electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction:Synthesis and electron redistribution mechanism显示文摘Heterostructures are often constructed to modulate the electronic states of the two catalysts, achieving high-performance in alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Various mechanisms have been proposed for the heterostructural catalysts, which however awaits further approvement.Herein,a heterostructure composed of Co_(2)P and CoP was successfully prepared with significantly enhanced HER catalytic activity relative to the endmembers. The ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy(UPS)and Xray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)revealed the effective promotion of the self-driven transferring of electrons from CoP to Co_(2)P and the accumulation of electrons on the P sites in Co_(2)P due to the strong electronic coupling of built-in electric field in the Co_(2)P/CoP interface. In situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and poison experiments confirmed the Heyrovsky step of H*intermediate depleting on electronegative P sites and contributions of both metal and P to the reactivity in the Co_(2)P/CoP.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations clarify that the electronic structure at interface of the heterojunction significantly weakens the hydrogen adsorption free energy(ΔGH*ads)of P site in Co_(2)P/CoP to near zero.We also propose an electronic redistribution strategy for heterostructures that activates the multiple routes mechanism and production of more active sites. The working mechanism is expected to be further extended to other transition metal compounds for efficient HER activity.Baoshan Liu Boan Zhong Feng Li Jing Liu Liping Zhao Peng Zhang Lian Gao 2023Nano Research2023,16,11:0
