| 1 | Effect of low versus high frequency stimulation on freezing of gait and other axial symptoms in Parkinson patients with bilateral STN DBS:a mini-review显示文摘Some studies have shown that low frequency stimulation(LFS,most commonly 60 Hz),compared to high frequency stimulation(HFS,most commonly 130 Hz),has beneficial effects,short-term or even long-term,on improving freezing of gait(FOG)and other axial symptoms,including speech and swallowing function,in Parkinson disease(PD)patients with bilateral subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation(STN DBS).However,other studies failed to confirm this.It seems not clear what determines the difference in response to LFS.Differences in study design,such as presence or absence of FOG,exact LFS used(60 Hz versus 80 Hz),study size,open label versus randomized double blind assessment,retrospective versus prospective evaluation,medication On or Off state,total electric energy delivered maintained or not with the change in frequency,and the location of active contacts could all potentially affect the results.This mini-review goes over the literature with the aforementioned factors in mind,focusing on the effect of LFS versus HFS on FOG and other axial symptoms in PD with bilateral STN DBS,in an effort to extract the essential data to guide our clinical management of axial symptoms and explore the potential underlying mechanisms as well.Overall,LFS of 60 Hz seems to be consistently effective in patients with FOG at the usual HFS in regards to improving FOG,speech,swallowing function and other axial symptoms,though LFS could reduce tremor control in some patients.Whether LFS simply addresses the axial symptoms in the context of HFS or has other beneficial effects requires further studies,along with the mechanism. | Tao Xie Mahesh Padmanaban Lisa Bloom Ellen MacCracken Breanna Bertacchi Abraham Dachman Peter Warnke | 2017 | Translational Neurodegeneration2017，6，1： | 5 |

| 7 | Integrated Behavioral Healthcare in Thailand:A Case Study from Chiang Mai显示文摘Purpose:This study aims to examine the level of behavioral health integration in primary care clinics among patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes in Chiang Mai,Thailand.It also aims to explore the provider perceived prevalence of behavioral problems and need for an expert behavioral health consultant on the primary care team and the risk and protective factors of the patients’psychological and cardio-metabolic health outcomes.Methodology:Using survey data between 2017 and 2018 regarding the level of integration as measured by a Practice Integration Profile,provider ratings of prevalence and need based on a Provider Survey,and patient lifestyle and behavioral problems with a Health Risk Assessment in six primary health care settings in Chiang Mai,Thailand(n=335).We conducted ordinary least squares regressions to explore the relationship between each of the patient psychological and cardio-metabolic health outcomes and physical,mental health and substance abuse variables while controlling for the demographics.Results:The results showed overall high levels of integration,but significant variability across clinics.Providers rated prevalence of health risk and need for a Behavioral Health Consultant as moderate.Results of the patient health risk assessment were variable,with some problems high severity,others low.Conclusion:The results reflect a need for integrated behavioral health into the health care system in Thailand especially for those who are in the chronic illness condition.Recommendations for future study include an evaluation of the translation quality and validity and reliability of the study measures under the Thai context.This study fills the research gap of lacking research on the level of integrated care in clinics in Thailand. | Ronald O’Donnell Shiyou Wu Patraporn Bhatarasakoon Jennifer Rolfes Decha Tamdee Erik P Turtle Kasia Gilpatrick Kaoru Sato Breanna Reeser Mohamed Abdalla Rodger Kessler | 2022 | Psychosomatic Medicine Research2022，4，1： | 0 |

| 11 | Plant scent and plant-insect interactions-Review and outlook from a macroevolutionary perspective显示文摘The astonishing diversity of plants and insects and their entangled interactions are cornerstones in terrestrial ecosystems.Co-occurring with species diversity is the diversity of plant secondary metabolites(PSMs).So far,their estimated number is more than 200000 compounds,which are not directly involved in plant growth and development but play important roles in helping plants handle their environment including the mediation of plant-insect interactions.Here,we use plant volatile organic compounds(VOCs),a key olfactory communication channel that mediates plant-insect interactions,as a showcase of PSMs.In spite of the cumulative knowledge of the functional,ecological,and microevolutionary roles of VOCs,we still lack a macroevolutionary understanding of how they evolved with plant-insect interactions and contributed to species diversity throughout the long coevolutionary history of plants and insects.We first review the literature to summarize the current state-of-the-art research on this topic.We then present various relevant types of phylogenetic methods suitable to answer macroevolutionary questions on plant VOCs and suggest future directions for employing phylogenetic approaches in studying plant VOCs and plant-insect interactions.Overall,we found that current studies in this field are still very limited in their macroevolutionary perspective.Nevertheless,with the fast-growing development of metabolome analysis techniques and phylogenetic methods,it is becoming increasingly feasible to integrate the advances of these two areas.We highlight promising approaches to generate new testable hypotheses and gain a mechanistic understanding of the macroevolutionary roles of chemical communication in plant-insect interactions. | Orlando Schwery Breanna N.Sipley Mariana P.Braga Yan Yang Roberto Rebollo Pengjuan Zu | 2023 | Journal of Systematics and Evolution2023，61，3： | 0 |

| 20 | Ehlers-Danlos syndrome:prevalence and outcomes in gender affirming surgery-a single institution experience显示文摘Aim:Patients with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome(EDS)are considered to have an increased risk for wound healing complications.Surgeons may therefore be hesitant to offer elective surgeries,including gender-affirming surgeries(GAS),to EDS patients.At our center,we frequently encountered patients presenting for GAS evaluation with the co-existing diagnosis of EDS.This study aims to establish the prevalence of EDS diagnosis in our GAS patients and compare their post-operative complications to patients without EDS diagnosis.Methods:This is a single-institution retrospective case-control study on all patients who underwent GAS from 2016-2020.Data include EDS diagnosis,demographics,operation,and complications(including minor wound healing issues).Results:Of 1363 patients presenting for GAS,36(2.6%)had EDS diagnoses and were matched with 108 control patients.Major complications requiring surgical intervention in the OR occurred in 6 patients(4.2%),(2.8% EDS vs.5.4%controls;P=0.63),while 8.3% of EDS and 14% of controls required minor interventions(P=0.38).The rate of wound healing issues of any severity was 28% in EDS vs.47% in control groups(P=0.04).Conclusion:The prevalence of EDS diagnosis in our patient population is 132 times the highest reported prevalence in the general population.Wound healing issues and the need for additional post-operative interventions in the group with EDS diagnosis were not significantly different from the control group.Our findings suggest that patients with a diagnosis of EDS undergoing GAS have comparable outcomes to patients without EDS.Concerns for post-operative complications should not be a barrier to offering GAS to patients presenting with an EDS diagnosis. | Alireza Najafian Isabel Cylinder Breanna Jedrzejewski Craig Sineath Zbigniew Sikora Leigh H.Martin Daniel Dugi Geolani W.Dy Jens Urs Berli | 2022 | Plastic and Aesthetic Research2022，9，1： | 0 |
