1Wet and dry deposition fluxes of heavy metals in Pearl River Delta Region(China):Characteristics,ecological risk assessment,and source apportionment显示文摘The atmospheric deposition of heavy metals poses serious risks to the ecological system and human health. To advance our knowledge of atmospheric dry/wet heavy metal deposition in the PRD region, monthly fluxes were examined based on soluble/insoluble fractions of five heavy metal elements(Cu, Pb, Cd, Cr and Zn) in samples collected from January 2014 to December 2015 at Guangzhou(urban) and Dinghushan(suburban) sites. The ratios of wet/dry deposition fluxes indicated that heavy metal deposition was governed by wet deposition rather than dry deposition in the PRD region. Affected by the shifting of the Asian monsoon, wet deposition fluxes exhibited significant seasonal variation between summer monsoon seasons(April to September) and winter monsoon seasons(October to February) in this region. Cd was classified as an extremely strong potential ecological risk based on solubility and the Hakanson ecological risk index. Source contributions to wet deposition were calculated by PMF, suggesting that dust, biomass burning, industries,vehicles, long-range transport and marine aerosol sources in Guangzhou, and Zn fertilizers,marine aerosol sources, agriculture, incense burning, biomass burning, vehicles and the ceramics industry in Dinghushan, were the potential sources of heavy metals.Lyumeng Ye Minjuan Huang Buqing Zhong Xuemei Wang Qiulan Tu Haoran Sun Chao Wang Luolin Wu Ming Chang 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,8:20
2Influence of ammonium and nitrate supply on growth, nitrate reductase activity and N-use efficiency in a natural hybrid pine and its parents显示文摘Selection of tree species with a high capacity to assimilate N and efficiently utilize N resources would facilitate the success of initial tree seedling establishment in infertile soils.The preference for N forms was tested using three pine species(Pinus densata,Pinus tabuliformis and Pinus yunnanensis).Pinus densata is a natural diploid hybrid between P.tabuliformis and P.yunnanensis.Methods Seedlings of three pine species were supplied with nitrate-N,ammonium-N(at two different pH regimes)or combined ammonium and nitrate as a nitrogen source in perlite culture in a controlled environment.Important Findings Seedlings of P.densata had higher total biomass and net photosynthesis when supplied with nitrate-N and ammonium nitrate than with ammonium-N.In parental species,total biomass and net photosynthesis for P.yunnanensis seedlings was higher in ammonium-N than in nitrate-N,whereas the other parental species P.tabuliformis had the highest total biomass among species for all treatments except ammonium with CaCO_(3).Most morphological traits in P.densata seedlings were intermediate between its two parental species.However,N-use efficiency and photosynthetic N-use efficiency of P.densata significantly exceeded both parents when supplied with nitrate-N and ammonium nitrate.The results suggested that the diploid hybrid tree species P.densata has a preference for nitrate and is not well adapted to ammonium-N as a sole nitrogen source regardless of the growth medium pH.Based on changes in environmental conditions,such as predicted future temperature increases in high altitude areas associated with climate change,P.densata is likely to be increasingly competitive and have wide adaptation in high altitude regions.Buqing Yao Jing Cao Changming Zhao Zed Rengel 2011Journal of Plant Ecology2011,4,4:15
3Combustion characteristics and synergy behaviors of biomass and coal blending in oxy-fuel conditions: A single particle co-combustion method显示文摘Co-combustion biomass and coal can effectively reduce the emission of CO_2. O_2/H_2O combustion is regarded as the next generation of oxy-fuel combustion technology. By co-combustion biomass and coal under oxy-fuel condition, the emission of CO_2 can be minimized. This work investigates the co-combustion characteristics of single particles from pine sawdust(PS) and bituminous coal(BC) in O_2/N2, O_2/CO_2 and O_2/H_2O atmospheres at different O_2 mole fractions(21%, 30% and 40%). The experiments were carried out in a drop tube furnace(DTF), and a high speed camera was used to record the combustion process of fuel particles. The combustion temperature was measured by a two-color method. The experiments in O_2/N2 atmosphere indicate that the particles from pine sawdust and bituminous coal all ignite homogeneously. After replacing H_2O for N2, the combustion temperature of volatiles of blended fuel particles decreases, while the combustion temperature of char increases. The ignition delay time in O_2/H_2O atmosphere is shorter than that in O_2/N2 or O_2/CO_2 atmosphere. The combustion temperature of volatiles of blended fuel particles increases as the mass fraction of bituminous coal increases, while the combustion temperature of char of blended fuel particles is higher than that of biomass or bituminous coal. The ignition delay time of blended fuel particles increases with the increasing mass fraction of bituminous coal, and the experimental ignition delay time of blend fuel particles is shorter than the theoretical one. 4WEB SERVICE SELECTION ALGORITHM BASED ON PRINCIPAL COMPONENT ANALYSIS显示文摘Existing Web service selection approaches usually assume that preferences of users have been provided in a quantitative form by users. However, due to the subjectivity and vagueness of preferences, it may be impractical for users to specify quantitative and exact preferences. Moreover, due to that Quality of Service (QoS) attributes are often interrelated, existing Web service selection approaches which employ weighted summation of QoS attribute values to compute the overall QoS of Web services may produce inaccurate results, since they do not take correlations among QoS attributes into account. To resolve these problems, a Web service selection framework considering user's preference priority is proposed, which incorporates a searching mechanism with QoS range setting to identify services satisfying the user's QoS constraints. With the identified service candidates, based on the idea of Principal Component Analysis (PCA), an algorithm of Web service selection named PCA-WSS (Web Service Selection based on PCA) is proposed, which can eliminate the correlations among QoS attributes and compute the overall QoS of Web services accurately. After computing the overall QoS for each service, the algorithm ranks the Web service candidates based on their overall QoS and recommends services with top QoS values to users. 6Thermodynamic and economic analyses of a coal and biomass indirect coupling power generation system显示文摘The coal and biomass coupling power genera-tion technology is considered as a promising technology for energy conservation and emission reduction.In this paper,a novel coal and biomass indirect coupling system is proposed based on the technology of biomass gasification and co-combustion of coal and gasification gas.For the sake of comparison,a coal and biomass direct coupling system is also introduced based on the technology of co-combustion of coal and biomass.The process of the direct and the indirect coupling system is simulated.The thermodynamic and economic performances of two systems are analyzed and compared.The simulation indicates that the thermodynamic performance of the indirect coupling system is slightly worse,but the economic performance is better than that of the direct coupling system.When the blending ratio of biomass is 20%,the energy and exergy fficiencies of the indirect coupling system are 42.70%and 41.14%,the intemal rate of returm(IRR)and discounted payback period(DPP)of the system are 25.68%and 8.56 years.The price fluctuation of fuels and products has a great influence on the economic performance of the indirect coupling system.The environmental impact analysis indicates that the indirect coupling system can inhibit the propagation of NOx and reduce the environmental cost.Buqing YE Rui ZHANG Jin CAO Bingquan SHI Xun ZHOU Dong LIU 2020Frontiers in Energy2020,14,3:3
7A New Index Developed for Fast Diagnosis of Meteorological Roles in Ground-Level Ozone Variations显示文摘China experienced worsening ground-level ozone(O_(2)) pollution from 2013 to 2019. In this study, meteorological parameters, including surface temperature(T_(2)), solar radiation(SW), and wind speed(WS), were classified into two aspects,(1) Photochemical Reaction Condition(PRC = T_(2)× SW) and(2) Physical Dispersion Capacity(PDC = WS). In this way, a Meteorology Synthetic Index(MSI = PRC/PDC) was developed for the quantification of meteorology-induced ground-level O_(2)pollution. The positive linear relationship between the 90 th percentile of MDA8(maximum daily 8-h average) O_(2)concentration and MSI determined that the contribution of meteorological changes to ground-level O-3 varied on a latitudinal gradient, decreasing from ~40% in southern China to 10%–20% in northern China. Favorable photochemical reaction conditions were more important for ground-level O_(2)pollution. 8Circular RNA circZbtb20 maintains ILC3 homeostasis and function via Alkbh5-dependent m6A demethylation of Nr4a1 mRNA显示文摘Group 3 innate lymphoid cells(ILC3s)play critical roles in innate immunity and gut homeostasis.However,how ILC3 homeostasis is regulated remains elusive.Here,we identified a novel circular RNA,circZbtb20,that is highly expressed in ILC3s and required for their maintenance and function.CircZbtb20 deletion causes reduced ILC3 numbers,increasing susceptibility to C.rodentium infection.Mechanistically,circZbtb20 enhances the interaction of Alkbh5 with Nr4a1 mRNA,leading to ablation of the m6A modification of Nr4a1 mRNA to promote its stability.Nr4a1 initiates Notch2 signaling activation,which contributes to the maintenance of ILC3 homeostasis.Deletion of Alkbh5 or Nr4a1 also impairs ILC3 homeostasis and increases susceptibilities to bacterial infection.Thus,our findings reveal an important role of circular RNA in the regulation of innate lymphoid cell homeostasis.Benyu Liu Nian Liu Xiaoxiao Zhu Liuliu Yang Buqing Ye Huimu Li Pingping Zhu Tiankun Lu Yong Tian Zusen Fan 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,6:2

13Sound radiation of a functionally graded material cylindrical shell in water by mobility method显示文摘Based on the fundamental dynamic equations of functionally graded material (FGM) cylindrical shell, this paper investigates the sound radiation of vibrational FGM shell in water by mobility method. This model takes into account the exterior fluid loading due to the sound press radiated by the FGM shell. The FGM cylindrical shell was excited by a harmonic line radial force uniformly distributing along the generator. The FGM shell equations of motion, the Helmholtz equation in the exterior fluid medium and the continuity equation at fluid-shell interface are used in this vibroacoustic problem. The expressions of sound radiation efficiency and sound field of the FGM shell have been derived by mobility method. Radiation efficiency, modal mobility and the directivity pattern of the sound field are solved numerically. 20Radiocarbon isotope technique as a powerful tool in tracking anthropogenic emissions of carbonaceous air pollutants and greenhouse gases:A review显示文摘Air pollution and climate change are two important threats facing in our planet and are tightly linked to carbonaceous components in the atmosphere.A better understanding of the emission sources and environmental fate/sink of carbonaceous components is critical for improving our knowledge of the global carbon cycle and mitigating the negative environmental impacts of air pollution and climate change on human well-being.Radiocarbon(^(14)C),which is decayed completely in fossil fuel(e.g.coal and petroleum),is an ideal tool for quantifying the carbon flow in various carbon reservoirs.This study reviews the current knowledge of 14C in organic carbon(OC),elemental carbon(EC),individual organic compounds,methane(CH_(4)),carbon dioxide(CO_(2)),annual plants,and tree rings.The impacts of fossil and non-fossil sources on the atmosphere can be quantified by measuring^(14)C.We also report on the influence of nuclear power plants and sea-air gas exchange on the abundance of^(14)C in the atmosphere.The increasing fossil fuel emissions indicated by the depletion of^(14)CO_(2)under IPCC RCP scenarios,support the urgent need to devise ambitious strategies of reducing carbonaceous components to achieve sustainable development on Earth.This review summarizes the challenges and perspectives of 14C studies of the atmosphere.Gan Zhang Junwen Liu Jing Li Pingyang Li Nannan Wei Buqing Xu 2021Fundamental Research2021,1,3:1
