1Early Paleozoic ridge subduction in the Chinese Altai: Insight from the abrupt change in zircon Hf isotopic compositions显示文摘Zircons were separated from granitoids, gneisses, and sedimentary rocks of the Chinese Altai. Those with igneous characteristics yielded U-Pb ages of 280-2800 Ma, recording a long history of magmatic activity in the region. Zircon Hf isotopic compositions show an abrupt change at ~420 Ma, indicating that prior to that time the magmas came from both ancient and juvenile sources, whereas younger magmas were derived mainly from juvenile material. This may imply that the lithosphere was signifi- cantly modified in composition by a rapid addition of melt from the mantle. 2Mercury isotope variations in surface soils in different contaminated areas in Guizhou Province,China显示文摘Guizhou Province is known as a heavily Hg-polluted area in China due to its special geochemical background and complicated Hg emission sources.In this study,we investigated the Hg isotope compositions of surface soil samples in the Hg mining area,zinc smelting area,coal combustion area,which are known to be the typical pollution regions of Hg in this province.We also compared the Hg isotopic fingerprints of primary Hg sources,such as hydrothermal Hg-bearing ores,coals and atmospheric Hg samples.According to our study,Hg stored in surface soils in different pollution regions in Guizhou Province displays a wide range of both mass dependent fractionation(MDF,δ202Hg) and mass independent fractionation(MIF,△199Hg).δ 202 Hg varies by 2.0‰ and △199Hg varies by 0.25‰ in the investigated surface soils.This study demonstrated that using a 'MDF-MIF' two dimensional Hg isotope system could be particularly useful in discriminating Hg sources in soils.FENG XinBin YIN RunSheng YU Ben DU BuYun 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,2:13
3Ultra-stable super-resolution fluorescence cryo-microscopy for correlative light and electron cryo-microscopy显示文摘Remarkable progress in correlative light and electron cryo-microscopy(cryo-CLEM) has been made in the past decade. A crucial component for cryo-CLEM is a dedicated cryo-fluorescence microscope(cryo-FM). Here, we describe an ultra-stable superresolution cryo-FM that exhibits excellent thermal and mechanical stability. The temperature fluctuations in 10 h are less than0.06 K, and the mechanical drift over 5 h is less than 200 nm in three dimensions. We have demonstrated the super-resolution imaging capability of this system(average single molecule localization accuracy of ~13.0 nm). 20Minimum Core Genome Sequence Typing of Brucella From China显示文摘The Gram-negative bacterial genus Brucella includes six classic species based on host specificity,pathogenicity and phenotypic differences.Four more Brucella species were identified in 2007.Although many Brucella genomes have been sequenced,genome sequences and analysis of Brucella strains isolated in China are still scarce.An efficient genome-based Brucella typing method is also needed.In this study,we used the minimum core genome(MCG)typing method to identify and type Brucella strains.Twenty Brucella isolates fromChinawere newly sequenced.The genome sequences of 55 representative Brucella strainswere downloaded.Among the 75 genomes,1089 genes and 52,030 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)shared by all isolates were considered as the MCG genes and MCG SNPs.Using these 52,030 MCG SNPs,Brucella was divided into six MCG groups.In addition,average nucleotide identity(ANI)values and the distributions of 184 virulence genes were all computed.The proportions of virulence genes were 90.96%,93.56%,95.89%,86.04%,85.78%and 91.87%for MCG groups 1 to 6,respectively.The intragroup ANI values were higher than the intergroup values,further confirming the validity of the MCG taxonomy classification.Brucella melitensis and Brucella abortus,the two main Brucella species pathogenic to humans,were well separated from other species.With the development and cost reduction of next-generation sequencing,theMCG typing method can be used for rapid identification of Brucella,which can contribute to the rapid diagnosis of brucellosis and ensure timely and effective treatment.Na Zhao Buyun Cui 2023Infectious Microbes & Diseases2023,5,1:0
