| 2 | Investigation ofβ—‑decay half‑life and delayed neutron emission with uncertainty analysis显示文摘β-decay half-life and β-delayed neutron emission(βn) are of great importance in the development of basic science and industrial applications, such as nuclear physics and nuclear energy, where β--decay plays an important role. Many theoretical models have been proposed to describe β-decay half-lives, whereas the systematic study of βn is still rare. This study aimed to investigate β--decay half-lives and βn probabilities through analytical formulas and by comparing them with experimental data. Analytical formulas for β--decay properties have been proposed by considering prominent factors, that is, decay energy,odevity, and the shell effect. The bootstrap method was used to simultaneously evaluate the total uncertainty on calculations,which was composed of statistic and systematic uncertainties. β--decay half-lives, βn probabilities, and the corresponding uncertainties were evaluated for the neutron-rich region. The experimental half-lives were well reproduced. | 6 | Sewage flow optimization algorithm for large-scale urban sewer networks based on network community division显示文摘By considering the flow control of urban sewer networks to minimize the electricity consumption of pumping stations, a decomposition-coordination strategy for energy savings based on network community division is developed in this paper. A mathematical model characterizing the steady-state flow of urban sewer networks is first constructed, consisting of a set of algebraic equations with the structure transportation capacities captured as constraints. Since the sewer networks have no apparent natural hierarchical structure in general, it is very difficult to identify the clustered groups. A fast network division approach through calculating the betweenness of each edge is successfully applied to identify the groups and a sewer network with arbitrary configuration could be then decomposed into subnetworks. By integrating the coupling constraints of the subnetworks, the original problem is separated into N optimization subproblems in accordance with the network decomposition. Each subproblem is solved locally and the solutions to the subproblems are coordinated to form an appropriate global solution. | 9 | Scientific objectives of the Hot Universe Baryon Surveyor(HUBS) mission显示文摘The Hot Universe Baryon Surveyor(HUBS) is a proposed space-based X-ray telescope for detecting X-ray emissions from the hot gas content in our universe. With its unprecedented spatially-resolved high-resolution spectroscopy and large field of view,the HUBS mission will be uniquely qualified to measure the physical and chemical properties of the hot gas in the interstellar medium, the circumgalactic medium, the intergalactic medium, and the intracluster medium. These measurements will be valuable for two key scientific goals of HUBS, namely to unravel the AGN and stellar feedback physics that governs the formation and evolution of galaxies, and to probe the baryon budget and multi-phase states from galactic to cosmological scales. In addition to these two goals, the HUBS mission will also help us solve some problems in the fields of galaxy clusters, AGNs, difuse X-ray backgrounds, supernova remnants, and compact objects. | 16 | Comparison and development of advanced machine learning tools to predict nonalcoholic fatty liver disease:An extended study显示文摘Background:Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a public health challenge and significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide.Early identification is crucial for disease intervention.We recently proposed a nomogram-based NAFLD prediction model from a large population cohort.We aimed to explore machine learning tools in predicting NAFLD.Methods:A retrospective cross-sectional study was performed on 15315 Chinese subjects(10373 training and 4942 testing sets).Selected clinical and biochemical factors were evaluated by different types of machine learning algorithms to develop and validate seven predictive models.Nine evaluation indicators including area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUROC),area under the precision-recall curve(AUPRC),accuracy,positive predictive value,sensitivity,F1 score,Matthews correlation coefficient(MCC),specificity and negative prognostic value were applied to compare the performance among the models.The selected clinical and biochemical factors were ranked according to the importance in prediction ability.Results:Totally 4018/10373(38.74%)and 1860/4942(37.64%)subjects had ultrasound-proven NAFLD in the training and testing sets,respectively.Seven machine learning based models were developed and demonstrated good performance in predicting NAFLD.Among these models,the XGBoost model revealed the highest AUROC(0.873),AUPRC(0.810),accuracy(0.795),positive predictive value(0.806),F1 score(0.695),MCC(0.557),specificity(0.909),demonstrating the best prediction ability among the built models.Body mass index was the most valuable indicator to predict NAFLD according to the feature ranking scores.Conclusions:The XGBoost model has the best overall prediction ability for diagnosing NAFLD.The novel machine learning tools provide considerable beneficial potential in NAFLD screening. | Yuan-Xing Liu Xi Liu Chao Cen Xin Li Ji-Min Liu Zhao-Yan Ming Song-Feng Yu Xiao-Feng Tang Lin Zhou Jun Yu Ke-Jie Huang Shu-Sen Zheng | 2021 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2021,20,5: | 0 |
