2Plant diversity reduces the effect of multiple heavy metal pollution on soil enzyme activities and microbial community structure显示文摘It is unclear whether certain plant species and plant diversity could reduce the impacts of multiple heavy metal pollution on soil microbial structure and soil enzyme activities. Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) was used to analyze the genetic diversity and microbial similarity in planted and unplanted soil under combined cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) pollution. A metal hyper- accumulator, Brassica juncea, and a common plant, Festuca arundinacea Schreb, were used in this research. The results showed that microorganism quantity in planted soil significantly increased, compared with that in unplanted soil with Cd and Pb pollution. The order of microbial community sensitivity in response to Cd and Pb stress was as follows: actinomycetes 〉 bacteria 〉 fungi. Respiration, phosphatase, urease and dehydrogenase activity were significantly inhibited due to Cd and Pb stress. Compared with unplanted soil, planted soils have frequently been reported to have higher rates of microbial activity due to the presence of additional surfaces for microbial colonization and organic compounds released by the plant roots. Two coexisting plants could increase microbe population and the activity of phosphatases, dehydrogenases and, in particular, ureases. Soil enzyme activity was higher in B. juncea phytoremediated soil than in F. arundinacea planted soil in this study. Heavy metal pollution decreased the richness of the soil microbial community, but plant diversity increased DNA sequence diversity and maintained DNA sequence diversity at highlevels. 3Human activities aggravate nitrogen-deposition pollution to inland water over China显示文摘In the past three decades, China has built more than 87 000 dams with a storage capacity of ≈6560 km3 and the total surface area of inland water has increased by 6672 km2. Leaching of N from fertilized soils to rivers is the main source of N pollution in China, but the exposure of a growing inland water area to direct atmospheric N deposition and N leaching caused by N deposition on the terrestrial ecosystem, together with increased N deposition and decreased N flow, also tends to raise N concentrations in most inland waters. The contribution of this previously ignored source of N deposition to freshwaters is estimated in this study, as well as mitigation strategies. The results show that the annual amounts of N depositions ranged from 4.9 to 16.6 kg · ha-1· yr-1 in the 1990 s to exceeding 20 kg · ha-1· yr-1 in the 2010 s over most of regions in China, so the total mass of N(the net contribution of N deposition to the increase in N concentration) for lakes, rivers and reservoirs change from 122.26 Gg N · yr-1 in the 1990 s to 237.75 Gg N· yr-1 in the 2010 s. 4Development of mouse preimplantation embryos in space显示文摘The development o f life beyond planet Earth is a long-standing quest of the human race,but whether normal mammalian embryonic development can occur in space is still unclear.Here,we show unequivocally that preimplantation mouse embryos can develop in space;but the rate of blastocyst formation and blastocyst quality are compromised.Additionally,the cells in the embryo contain severe DNA damage,while the genome of the blastocysts developed in space is globally hypomethylated with a unique set of differentially methylated regions.The developmental defects,DNA damage and epigenetic abnormalities can be largely mimicked by the treatment with ground-based low-dose radiation.However,the exposure to simulated microgravity alone does not cause major disruptions of embryonic development,indicating that radiation is the main cause for the developmental defects.This work advances the understanding of embryonic development in space and reveals long-term extreme low-dose radiation as a hazardous factor for mammalian reproduction.Xiaohua Lei Yujing Cao Baohua Ma Yunfang Zhang Lina Ning Jingjing Qian Liwen Zhang Yongcun Qu Tao Zhang Dehong Li Qi Chen Junchao Shi Xudong Zhang Chiyuan Ma Ying Zhang Enkui Duan 2020National Science Review2020,7,9:8
5Quantitative Remote Sensing Study on Regional Soil Erosion——Bin County of Heilongjiang as an Example显示文摘Based on Chinese soil loss equation (CSLE) model, this paper utilized technical advantages of RS and geographic information system (GIS) on data access and erosion factors data-base building to study prediction methods of regional soil erosion. The spatial analysis module of ARCGIS platform was applied to study the spatial distribution of erosion and the inter-relations of the factors influencing regional soil erosion in the research area. As a result, the mean soil erosion modulus of Bin County is 3 555.42 t/(km2?a), which suggests moderate degree erosion. The mean soil erosion modulus of clayey meadow soil is higher than those of dark brown soil and black soil. Vegetation factor values are between 0.1-0.2. The mean slope gradient and slope length values are respectively 1.335 and 6.061 which shows slope length is a dominant factor. And soil type, vegetation coverage and to-pographic factors have remarkable relevance to each other. 6Parametric sensitivity analysis of precipitation and temperature based on multi-uncertainty quantification methods in the Weather Research and Forecasting model显示文摘Sensitivity analysis(SA) has been widely used to screen out a small number of sensitive parameters for model outputs from all adjustable parameters in weather and climate models, helping to improve model predictions by tuning the parameters. However, most parametric SA studies have focused on a single SA method and a single model output evaluation function, which makes the screened sensitive parameters less comprehensive. In addition, qualitative SA methods are often used because simulations using complex weather and climate models are time-consuming. Unlike previous SA studies, this research has systematically evaluated the sensitivity of parameters that affect precipitation and temperature simulations in the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF) model using both qualitative and quantitative global SA methods. In the SA studies, multiple model output evaluation functions were used to conduct various SA experiments for precipitation and temperature. The results showed that five parameters(P3, P5, P7, P10, and P16) had the greatest effect on precipitation simulation results and that two parameters(P7 and P10) had the greatest effect for temperature. Using quantitative SA, the two-way interactive effect between P7 and P10 was also found to be important, especially for precipitation. The microphysics scheme had more sensitive parameters for precipitation, and P10(the multiplier for saturated soil water content) was the most sensitive parameter for both precipitation and temperature. From the ensemble simulations, preliminary results indicated that the precipitation and temperature simulation accuracies could be improved by tuning the respective sensitive parameter values, especially for simulations of moderate and heavy rain.DI ZhenHua 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,5:3
7Cardiac Na^(+)-Ca^(2+) exchanger 1(ncx1h)is critical for the ventricular cardiomyocyte formation via regulating the expression levels of gata4 and hand2 in zebrafish显示文摘Ca^(2+) signaling is critical for heart development;however,the precise roles and regulatory pathways of Ca^(2+) transport proteins in cardiogenesis remain largely unknown.Sodium-calcium exchanger 1(Ncx1)is responsible for Ca^(2+) efflux in cardiomyocytes.It is involved in cardiogenesis,while the mechanism is unclear.Here,using the forward genetic screening in zebrafish,we identified a novel mutation at a highly-conserved leucine residue in ncx1 gene(mutant^(LDD353)/ncx1h^(L154P))that led to smaller hearts with reduced heart rate and weak contraction.Mechanistically,the number of ventricular but not atrial cardiomyocytes was reduced in ncx1h^(L154P) zebrafish.These defects were mimicked by knockdown or knockout of ncx1h.Moreover,ncx1h^(L154P) had cytosolic and mitochondrial Ca^(2+) overloading and Ca^(2+) transient suppression in cardiomyocytes.Furthermore,ncx1h^(L154P) and ncx1h morphants downregulated cardiac transcription factors hand2 and gata4 in the cardiac regions,while overexpression of hand2 and gata4 partially rescued cardiac defects including the number of ventricular myocytes.These findings demonstrate an essential role of the novel 154th leucine residue in the maintenance of Ncx1 function in zebrafish,and reveal previous unrecognized critical roles of the 154th leucine residue and Ncx1 in the formation of ventricular cardiomyocytes by at least partially regulating the expression levels of gata4 and hand2.Liming Chu Huimin Yin Lei Gao Li Gao Yu Xia Chiyuan Zhang Yi Chen Tingxi Liu Jijun Huang Kenneth R.Boheler Yong Zhou Huang-Tian Yang 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,2:3
8Synthesis, crystal structure, and application of an acenaphtho[1,2-k] fluoranthene diimide derivative显示文摘Organic electron acceptor materials play an important role in organic electronics.Recently,many organic electron acceptors have been developed,in which aromatic fused-imides have proved to be a promising family of excellent electron acceptors.We report the first synthesis of a novel aromatic fused-imide,acenaphtho[1,2-k]fluoranthene diimide derivative(AFI),using lithium-halogen exchange and Diels-Alder reactions.The construction of a large conjugated plane and the introduction of electron-withdrawing imide groups endow AFI with a low lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)level of 3.80 e V.AFI exhibits a regular molecular arrangement and strong - interactions in the single-crystal structure,which indicates its potential application in organic electronic devices.Solar cell devices that were fabricated using AFI as the electron acceptor and P3HT as the electron donor achieved an energy conversion efficiency of 0.33%.Lin Ding Chiyuan Yang Zhongmin Su Jian Pei 2015Science China Chemistry2015,58,2:2
