| 1 | Comparison of the Accuracy of Canon KU-1 IOL Measurer and VPLUS A/B Scanner in Axial Length Measurement显示文摘Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of Canon KU-1 IOL measurer (Japanese Canon Company) and VPLUS A/B scanner (French Quantel Company) in axial length (AL)measurement.Methods:Canon KU-1 IOL measurer and VPLUS A/B scanner were used to measure axial length of human cataractous eyes before cataract surgery. Two hundred and twentytwo cases (433 eyes) were involved. The results were compared and the postoperative visual acuity, refractive results were recorded during the follow-ups to evaluate the accuracy of the two instruments.Results:In the 222 cases (433 eyes), the absolute value of the measurement differences was 0.4 mm or above in 35 eyes, 0.8 mm or above in 17 eyes, 1.2 mm or above in 12 eyes,2.0mm or above in 5 eyes. The refractive error was less than 2.0D in all patients. The mean values of ocular axial length by the two methods were 23.82 mm and 23.83 mm respectively and the difference had no statistic significance with compared t test ( P=0.902, two tail, or=0.01).Conclusion:The accurate AL measurements can be obtained with the two instruments and the measurement results should be analyzed comprehensively to obtain accurate values in the complicated cases. | Chuyin Chen, Zhende Lin, Bo Feng, Yonghua Li Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou 510060, China | 2003 | Eye Science2003,19,3: | 3 |

| 13 | Polysulfide regulation by defect-modulated Ta_(3)N_(5-x) electrocatalyst toward superior room-temperature sodium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Resolving low sulfur reaction activity and severe polysulfide dissolution remains challenging in metalsulfur batteries.Motivated by a theoretical prediction,herein,we strategically propose nitrogenvacancy tantalum nitride(Ta3N5-x)impregnated inside the interconnected nanopores of nitrogendecorated carbon matrix as a new electrocatalyst for regulating sulfur redox reactions in roomtemperature sodium-sulfur batteries.Through a pore-constriction mechanism,the nitrogen vacancies are controllably constructed during the nucleation of Ta3N5-x.The defect manipulation on the local environment enables well-regulated Ta 5d-orbital energy level,not only modulating band structure toward enhanced intrinsic conductivity of Ta-based materials,but also promoting polysulfide stabilization and achieving bifunctional catalytic capability toward completely reversible polysulfide conversion.Moreover,the interconnected continuous Ta3N5-x-in-pore structure facilitates electron and sodium-ion transport and accommodates volume expansion of sulfur species while suppressing their shuttle behavior.Due to these attributes,the as-developed Ta3N5-x-based electrode achieves superior rate capability of 730 mAh g-1 at 3.35 A g-1,long-term cycling stability over 2000 cycles,and high areal capacity over 6 mAh cm-2 under high sulfur loading of 6.2 mg cm-2.This work not only presents a new sulfur electrocatalyst candidate for metal-sulfur batteries,but also sheds light on the controllable material design of defect structure in hopes of inspiring new ideas and directions for future research. | Zhen Zhang Dan Luo Jun Chen Chuyin Ma Matthew Li Haoze Zhang Renfei Feng Rui Gao Haozhen Dou Aiping Yu Xin Wang Zhongwei Chen | 2024 | Science Bulletin2024,69,2: | 0 |

| 15 | Study on Effect of Performance on Excess Sludge Disintegration by Ozone显示文摘In order to study the effect of excess sludge ozonation,a continuous experiment in lab scale process was carried out. During the treatment process,a high level of ozone was produced by the electrolysis-type ozone generator,and various parameters,such as Soluble Chemical Oxygen Demand ( SCOD) ,Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids ( MLSS) ,Mixed Liquor Volatile Suspended Solids ( MLVSS) ,pH and so on,which characterize sludge were investigated. A substantial reduction in the volume of sludge and the release of intracellular materials were observed: SCOD proliferated as a consequence of extending the ozone feeding time; MLSS and MLVSS,especially the ratio of MLVSS to MLSS,dwindled as the action time rose. Through analyzing the effluent quality and excess sludge activity,the sludge-water volume mixture ratio of 1∶ 20 with 50-60 minutes' oxidation treatment was found to be the optimal condition for ozonic disintegration of excess sludge.
