1Research on crystal growth and properties of a new nonlinear optical crystal:Bismuth borate BiB_3O_6显示文摘BiB3O6 (BIBO) single crystals with sizes of 44 mm × 24 mm × 10 mm and weight of 24.7 g have been successfully grown by the top-seeded method. In this note, the preparation of seed, the growth of crystal and some problems encountered are reported. The lattice parameters of BIBO are a =7.1203(7)A, b = 4.9948(7)A, c = 6.5077(7)A, β= 105.586(8) ', V=222.93(5)A3, which were determined by BRUKER-P4 four-circle diffractometer. BIBO is biaxial crystal and the relative orientation of (X, Y, Z) with regard to (a, b, c) is: X|| b, (Y, c) =47.2°, (Z, a) = 31.6°, determined by the X-ray analysis combined with polarized microscopy. The second-harmonic-generation (SHG) conversion efficiency of the sample for 1.064 μm light is up to 67.7%. We have also obtained the third harmonic generation (THG) of 1.064 μm, namely, 1.064 μm + 0.532 μn →0.355 μm. 2Branched chain amino acids alter fatty acid profile in colostrum of sows fed a high fat diet显示文摘Background:Branched chain amino acids(BCAAs)are important substrates for milk protein synthesis in the mammary gland,and are tightly related to lipid metabolism.No study has been performed examining the role of BCAAs with high fat diets on milk fat synthesis.This study was designed to investigate the effect of dietary BCAAs on growth performance of piglets,progeny body weight,and milk fat composition in sows fed a high fat diet.Four diets(CON=control diet;HF=high fat diet with 8%soybean oil;HF-MB=HF plus 0.39%BCAAs;HF-HB=HF plus 0.78%BCAAs)were fed to sows from late gestation to weaning.Results:Compared to HF,BCAAs(HF-MB and HF-HB)increased the litter weight(P<0.05)and overall litter weight gain(P<0.05)at weaning and increased colostrum fat content by 27.3–35.8%(P<0.01).Fatty acid profiles between the two doses of BCAAs were similar.Compared with HF,HF-MB tended to decrease the percentage of C18:3n3(P=0.063)and increased the percentage of C18:1n9c(P=0.03).In addition,BCAAs in HF-MB increased the concentration of total fatty acid by 22.1%in colostrum(P=0.03)but decreased that in serum at parturition by 53.2%(P=0.027).The fatty acids in colostrum that increased with BCAAs were C15:0,C17:0,C20:3n6,C20:4n6,C20:5n3 and C22:6n3(P=0.00~0.04).Colostrum fatty acids of C20:0,C21:0,C22:0,C16:1,C20:1,C18:1n9c also tended to be increased(0.05Chang Ma Yajng Liu Shaoshuai Liu Crystal L.Lévesque Fengqi Zhao Jindong Yin Bing Dong 2020Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2020,11,2:3

4Glymphatic imaging and modulation of the optic nerve显示文摘Optic nerve health is essential for proper function of the visual system.However,the pathophysiology of certain neurodegenerative disease processes affecting the optic nerve,such as glaucoma,is not fully understood.Recently,it was hypothesized that a lack of proper clearance of neurotoxins contributes to neurodegenerative diseases.The ability to clear metabolic waste is essential for tissue homeostasis in mammals,including humans.While the brain lacks the traditional lymphatic drainage system identified in other anatomical regions,there is growing evidence of a glymphatic system in the central nervous system,which structurally includes the optic nerve.Named to acknowledge the supportive role of astroglial cells,this perivascular fluid drainage system is essential to remove toxic metabolites from the central nervous system.Herein,we review existing literature describing the physiology and dysfunction of the glymphatic system specifically as it relates to the optic nerve.We summarize key imaging studies demonstrating the existence of a glymphatic system in the optic nerves of wild-type rodents,aquaporin 4-null rodents,and humans;glymphatic imaging studies in diseases where the optic nerve is impaired;and current evidence regarding pharmacological and lifestyle interventions that may help promote glymphatic function to improve optic nerve health.We conclude by highlighting future research directions that could be applied to improve imaging detection and guide therapeutic interventions for diseases affecting the optic nerve.Anisha Kasi Crystal Liu Muneeb A.Faiq Kevin C.Chan 2022Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,5:1

7Ground state and polaron and bipolaron excited states in polydiacetylene显示文摘The electronic properties of ground state and charged excited states of nondegenerate polydiacetylene were investigated by means of a tight-binding model. The parameters of the model were obtained by comparison of the experimental and other theoretical results. It was found that there is a stable dimerized structure of polydiacetylene in ground state and the doping induces the nonlinear excitations, such as polarons and bipolarons. In order to compare the stability of polaron and bipolaron, the creation energy and binding energy were separately defined. 10Clinical characterization of refractory virus-related inflammation inside aqueous outflow pathways in Chinese immunocompetent patients显示文摘To the Editor: Posner-Schlossmann syndrome (PSS), also known as glaucomatocyclitic crisis, is characterized by acute, unilateral, recurrent attacks of ocular hypertension, mild non-granulomatous anterior uveitis (AU), and spontaneous recovery. However, the etiology of this disease is unknown. Many mechanisms have been proposed including viral infection, autoimmune, autonomic dysregulation, allergic conditions and vascular endothelial dysfunction.[1] Topical anti-hypertensives and anti-inflammatory medications are typically prescribed to combat this disease. Repeated attacks may lead to longterm glaucomatous optic nerve damage over 5–10 years after the first episode. 11Studies on synthesis and kinetics of thermodecomposition of the nickel(Ⅱ) compounds with Schiff base derived from amino acids显示文摘Monoaqua salicylaldehyde-o-aminobenzoic acid Ni(Ⅱ) monohydrate (cp1) and monoaqua o-vanillin-o-aminobenzoic acid Ni(Ⅱ) monohydrate (cp2) were synthesized. The composition and structures of these two compounds were analyzed. Their thermal stability and non-isothermal kinetics were also investigated by use of TG and DTG curves. 12Irreversible Colossal Magnetoresistance in La_(0.58)Dy_(0.09)Ca_(0.33)MnO_3显示文摘The representative sample La0.58Dy0.09Ca0.33MnO3 of Dy doped La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 rare-earth manganites was investigated.The most important effect of Dy doping is to introduce the magnetoimpurity and form the spin clusters which induce dramatically large CMR in La0.58Dy0.09Ca0.33MnO3. The fitting results of field-induced resistivity decrease to the Brillouin function indicate that the CMR is caused by the spin dependent hopping between spin clusters. 13Optical properties of Nd_xGd_(1-x) Al_3(BO_3)_4 crystal显示文摘The optical properties of Nd x Gd 1-x Al\-3(BO\-3)\-4 (NGAB) crystal are reported. The refractive index of it were mesured by V_prism method. The absorption spectra and the flourescence specra of NGAB were also obtained. 15Single & Two-photon Excited Fluorescence of Two New Compounds with 2-Benzothiazolyl as Electron Acceptor显示文摘Two new D--A type compounds, where electron-donor D is tertiary amino group, electron-acceptor A is 2-benzothiazolyl and ?is two conjugated styryl units, have been synthesized. They are named as trans, trans-2-{4-[4-(N, N-diethylamino)styryl]styryl}-1, 3-benzothiazole and trans, trans-2-{4-[4-(N, N-diphenylamino)styryl]styryl}-1, 3-benzothiazole. 17Lattice Effects and Irreversible Magnetoresistance in Gd Doped La-Ca-Mn-O显示文摘The Gd substituting effects for La in La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 has been studied. With increasing the substituting amount of Gd, the phase transition temperature of metal-isolator for the samples decreases, the corresponding peak resistivity increases, the Curie temperature decreases monotonically. The substitution of La-Ca-Mn-O with 11% Gd for La improved the magnetoresistance ratio by an order of magnitude. The effects of substituting Gd can be explained in terms of the lattice effects. An irreversible MR behaviour was observed in Gd-substituting compounds. This effect became marked when the substituting amount of Gd was greater than 7%. 18Theoretical Studies on CH_3SiH_3+H→CH_3SiH_2+H_2 Reaction with the Variational Transitional State Theory显示文摘In this paper. the abstraction reaction of CH3SiH3 with H has been studied by using the 'direct dynamics' method of variational transition-state theory. which is based on the information on geometries. frequencies and energies calculalcd by ab inito along the minimum energy path. The rate constants of the title reaction were calculated for the range of temperature 298-1700 K.
