| 3 | Comparative profiling of the transcriptional response to soybean cyst nematode infection of soybean roots by deep sequencing显示文摘To gain insight into the changes in the transcriptome of soybean roots during soybean cyst nematode (SCN) infection, we conducted genome-wide gene expression profiling using serial analysis of gene expression (SAGE) combined with Solexa sequencing. More than 3 million tags were generated from the SCN-infected and uninfected roots, and 366941 and 314591 clean UniTags were obtained from SCN-infected and uninfected samples, respectively. In the SCN-infected sample, 48249 UniTags represented 18114 reference genes. In the uninfected control, 46290 UniTags represented 19323 reference genes. Comparison of tag frequencies identified 1405 genes that were expressed at greater levels in SCN-infected roots than in uninfected roots, and 1191 genes that were expressed at lower levels. Quantitative real-time PCR analyses confirmed the changes in mRNA levels observed in our sequencing analyses. A comparable number of genes were upand down-regulated in response to nematode infection, indicating that down-regulation of some genes might be essential in the plant response to nematodes. Our SAGE results showed significant changes in expression of many unreported genes involved in nematode infection. | 5 | Reduced graphene oxide/silicon nanowire hetero- structures with enhanced photoactivity and superior photoelectrochemical stability显示文摘Silicon nanowires (SiNWs) have been widely studied as light harvesting antennas in photocatalysts due to their ability to absorb broad-spectrum solar radiation, but they are typically limited by poor photoelectrochemical stability. Here, we report the synthesis of reduced graphene oxide-SiNW (rGO-SiNW) heterostructures to achieve greatly improved photocatalytic activity and stability. The SiNWs were synthesized through a metal-assisted electroless etching process and functionalized with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) flakes through a chemical absorption process. Here, the rGO not only functions as a physical protection layer to isolate the SiNWs from the harsh electrochemical environment but also serves as a charge mediator to facilitate the charge separation and transport processes. Furthermore, the rGO may also function as a redox catalyst to ensure efficient utilization of photo-carriers for the desired chemical reactions. Photocatalytic dye degradation studies show that the photoactivity of the heterostructures can be significantly enhanced with an initial activation process and maintained without apparent decay over repeated reaction cycles. Electrochemical and photo- electrochemical studies indicate that the enhanced photoactivity and photostability can be attributed to the more efficient separation of photoexcited charge carriers in SiNWs and the reduced self-oxidation of the surface of the SiNWs during the photocatalytic dye degradation process. | 9 | Self-enhanced photothermal-chemodynamic antibacterial agents for synergistic anti-infective therapy显示文摘Cu_(2-x)S nanostructures have been intensively studied as outstanding chemodynamic therapy(CDT)and good photothermal therapy(PTT)antibacterial agents due to their highly efficient Cu(Ⅰ)-initiated Fenton-like catalytic activity and good photothermal conversion property.However,they still suffer from shortage of Cu(Ⅰ)supply in the long-term and comparatively low inherent photothermal conversion efficiency.Herein,we constructed a self-enhanced synergistic PTT/CDT nanoplatform(Cu_(1.94)S@MPN)by coating Cu_(1.94)S nanoparticles with Fe(Ⅲ)/tannic acid based metal-polyphenol networks(MPN).Activated by the acidic bacterial infection microenvironment,Cu_(1.94)S@MPN could be decomposed to continuously release Cu(Ⅱ),Fe(Ⅲ)ions and tannic acid.As the result of tannic acid-involved Cu and Fe redox cycling,Cu(Ⅰ)/Fe(Ⅱ)-rich CDT could be achieved through the highly accelerated catalytic Fenton/Fenton-like reactions.More importantly,experimental results demonstrated that Cu_(1.94)S@MPN exhibited both excellent photothermal antibacterial and photothermal-enhanced CDT properties to eradicate bacteria in vitro and in vivo.Overall,this novel nanotherapeutics has great potential to become a clinic candidate for anti-infective therapy in future. | Ning Guo Yu Xia Yuxi Duan Quanxin Wu Le Xiao Yaxin Shi Bin Yang Yun Liu | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,2: | 0 |
