1De novo characterization of the root transcriptome of a traditional Chinese medicinal plant Polygonum cuspidatum显示文摘Various active components have been extracted from the root of Polygonum cuspidatum.However,the genetic basis for their activity is virtually unknown.In this study,25600002 short reads (2.3 Gb) of P.cuspidatum root transcriptome were obtained via Illumina HiSeq 2000 sequencing.A total of 86418 unigenes were assembled de novo and annotated.Twelve,18,60 and 54 unigenes were respectively mapped to the mevalonic acid (MVA),methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate (MEP),shikimate and resveratrol biosynthesis pathways,suggesting that they are involved in the biosynthesis of pharmaceutically important anthraquinone and resveratrol.Eighteen potential UDP-glycosyltransferase unigenes were identified as the candidates most likely to be involved in the biosynthesis of glycosides of secondary metabolites.Identification of relevant genes could be important in eventually increasing the yields of the medicinally useful constituents of the P.cuspidatum root.From the previously published transcriptome data of 19 non-model plant taxa,1127 shared orthologs were identified and characterized.This information will be very useful for future functional,phylogenetic and evolutionary studies of these plants.HAO DaCheng MA Pei MU Jun CHEN ShiLin XIAO PeiGen PENG Yong HUO Li XU LiJia SUN Chao 2012Science China(Life Sciences)2012,55,5:36
2Thermal energy storage:Challenges and the role of particle technology显示文摘Thermal energy is at the heart of the whole energy chain providing a main linkage between the primary and secondary energy sources.Thermal energy storage(TES)has a pivotal role to play in the energy chain and hence in future low carbon economy.However,a competitive TES technology requires a number of scientific and technological challenges to be addressed including TES materials,TES components and devices,and integration of TES devices with energy networks and associated dynamic optimization.This paper provides a perspective of TES technology with a focus on TES materials challenges using molten salts based phase change materials for medium and high temperature applications.Two key challenges for the molten salt based TES materials are chemical incompatibility and low thermal conductivity.The use of composite materials provides an avenue to meeting the challenges.Such composite materials consist of a phase change material,a structural supporting material,and a thermal conductivity enhancement material.The properties of the supporting material could determine the dispersion of the thermal conductivity enhancement material in the salt.A right combination of the salt,the structural supporting material,and the thermal conductivity enhancement material could give a hierarchical structure that is able to encapsulate the molten salt and give a substantial enhancement in the thermal conductivity.Understanding of the structure-property relationships for the composite is essential for the formulation design and fabrication of the composite materials.Linking materials properties to the system level performance is recommended as a key future direction of research.Zhiwei Ge Yongliang Li Dacheng Li Ze Sun Yi Jin Chuanping Liu Chuan Li Guanghui Leng Yulong Ding 2014Particuology2014,12,4:20
3Synthesis of novel β-amino ketones containing a p-aminobenzoic acid moiety and evaluation of their antidiabetic activities显示文摘The synthesis of two series of β-amino ketones containing a p-aminobenzoic acid moiety (TM-1 and TM-2) using a modified protocol of the Mannich reaction is reported. The molecular structures of a total of tweenty three new target compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, ESI-MS and HR-MS. Subsequently, their antidiabetic activities were screened in vitro. The α-glucodase inhibition (α-GI) activity of compound 1e reached a remarkable level of 66.50%. The peroxisome proliferatoractivated receptor (PPAR) relative activation activities of six compounds are above 80%, and in particular 2i displays an unprecedentedly high PPAR of 130.91%. 4A Fast and Memory-Efficient Approach to NDN Name Lookup显示文摘For name-based routing/switching in NDN, the key challenges are to manage large-scale forwarding Tables, to lookup long names of variable lengths, and to deal with frequent updates. Hashing associated with proper length-detecting is a straightforward yet efficient solution. Binary search strategy can reduce the number of required hash detecting in the worst case. However, to assure the searching path correct in such a schema, either backtrack searching or redundantly storing some prefixes is required, leading to performance or memory issues as a result. In this paper, we make a deep study on the binary search, and propose a novel mechanism to ensure correct searching path without neither additional backtrack costs nor redundant memory consumptions. Along any binary search path, a bloom filter is employed at each branching point to verify whether a said prefix is present, instead of storing that prefix here. By this means, we can gain significantly optimization on memory efficiency, at the cost of bloom checking before each detecting. 5Thermally stable photoluminescence and long persistent luminescence of Ca3Ga4O9:Tb^3+/Zn^2+显示文摘A green long persistent luminescence(LPL) phosphor Ca_3 Ga_4 O_9:Tb^(3+)/Zn^(2+) was prepared. Ca_3 Ga_4 O_9 matrix exhibits blue self-activated LPL due to the creation of intrinsic traps. When Tb3+ is doped, the photoluminescence(PL) and LPL colors change from blue to green with their intensities significantly enhanced. The doping of Zn^(2+) evidently improves the PL and LPL performances of the Ca_3Ga_4O_9 matrix and Ca_3Ga_4O_9:Tb^(3+). The thermoluminescence(TL) spectra show that a successive trap distribution is formed by multiple intrinsic traps with different depths in the Ca_3 Ga_4 O_9 matrix, and the incorporation of Tb^(3+) and Zn^(2+) effectively increases the densities of these intrinsic traps. 6NiSe_(2)/Ni(OH)_(2) Heterojunction Composite through Epitaxial-like Strategy as High-Rate Battery-Type Electrode Material显示文摘Constructing heterojunction is a promising way to improve the charge transfer efficiency and can thus promote the electrochemical properties.Herein,a facile and effective epitaxial-like growth strategy is applied to NiSe2 nano-octahe-dra to fabricate the NiSe2-(100)/Ni(OH)2-(110)heterojunction.The heterojunction composite and Ni(OH)2(performing high electrochemical activity)is ideal high-rate battery-type supercapacitor electrode.The NiSe2/Ni(OH)2 electrode exhibits a high specific capacity of 909 C g^-1 at 1 A g^-1 and 597 C g^-1 at 20 A g^-1.The assembled asymmetric supercapacitor composed of the NiSe2/Ni(OH)2 cathode and p-phenylenediamine-functional reduced graphene oxide anode achieves an ultrahigh specific capacity of 303 C g^-1 at 1 A g^-1 and a superior energy density of 76.1 Wh kg^-1 at 906 W kg^-1,as well as an outstanding cycling stability of 82%retention for 8000 cycles at 10 A g^-1.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first example of NiSe2/Ni(OH)2 heterojunction exhibiting such remarkable supercapacitor performance.This work not only provides a promising candidate for next-generation energy storage device but also offers a possible universal strategy to fabricate metal selenides/metal hydroxides heterojunctions.Hao Mei Zhaodi Huang Ben Xu Zhenyu Xiao Yingjie Mei Haobing Zhang Shiyu Zhang Dacheng Li Wenpei Kang Dao Feng Sun 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,5:3
7Analysis of microclimate characteristics in solar greenhouses under natural ventilation显示文摘The solar greenhouse is a typical greenhouse type in northern China.It provides a favorable environment for the growth of various plants and extends cultivation periods for almost a whole year to achieve a high yield.However,indoor environmental control is primarily based on growers'experience,and the objective test data required for the complex climate control and management of greenhouses are lacking.The present study used three greenhouses in northwest China as research objects:one greenhouse with mature plants(GH-M),one greenhouse with young plants(GH-Y)and one greenhouse without plants(GH-E).Field tests were performed to investigate microclimate characteristics,such as indoor air temperature,relative humidity,and solar radiation under natural ventilation.The results showed that the maximum temperature difference reached approximately 8.2℃in the vertical direction,and semiempirical equations for the normalized temperature distribution were obtained.The soil temperature remained constant at a certain depth(0.4 m).The distribution of the relative humidity and solar radiation was analyzed.The current study is helpful for growers to develop better greenhouse climate control strategies for management practices.Yicun Hou Angui Li Yue Li Dacheng Jin Yu Tian Da Zhang Dingmeng Wu Linhua Zhang Wenjun Lei 2021Building Simulation2021,14,6:3

10SecIngress:An API Gateway Framework to Secure Cloud Applications Based on N-Variant System显示文摘Based on the diversified technology and the cross-validation mechanism,the N-variant system provides a secure service architecture for cloud providers to protect the cloud applications from attacks by executing multiple variants of a single software in parallel and then checking their behaviors’consistency.However,it is complex to upgrade current Software as a Service(SaaS)applications to adapt N-variant system architecture.Challenges arise from the inability of tenants to adjust the application architecture in the cloud environment,and the difficulty for cloud service providers to implement N-variant systems using existing API gateways.This paper proposes SecIngress,an API gateway framework,to overcome the challenge that it is hard in the cloud environment to upgrade the applications based on N-variants system.We design a two-stage timeout processing method to lessen the service latency and an Analytic Hierarchy Process Voting under the Metadata mechanism(AHPVM)to enhance voting accuracy.We implement a prototype in a testbed environment and analyze the security and performance metrics before and after deploying the prototype to show the effectiveness of SecIngress.The results reveal that SecIngress enhances the reliability of cloud applications with acceptable performance degradation.Dacheng Zhou Hongchang Chen Guozhen Cheng Weizhen He Lingshu Li 2021China Communications2021,18,8:2
