| 1 | Estimating abundance and density of Amur tigers along the Sino- Russian border显示文摘As an apex predator the Amur tiger(Panthera tigris altaica)could play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of forest ecosystems in Northeast Asia.Due to habitat loss and harvest over the past century,tigers rapidly declined in China and are now restricted to the Russian Far East and bordering habitat in nearby China.To facilitate restoration of the tiger in its historical range,reliable estimates of population size are essential to assess effectiveness of conservation interventions.Here we used camera trap data collected in Hunchun National Nature Reserve from April to June 2013 and 2014 to estimate tiger density and abundance using both maximum likelihood and Bayesian spatially explicit capture-recapture(SECR)methods.A minimum of 8 individuals were detected in both sample periods and the documentation of marking behavior and reproduction suggests the presence of a resident population.Using Bayesian SECR modeling within the 11400 km2 state space,density estimates were 0.33 and 0.40 individuals/100 km^(2) in 2013 and 2014,respectively,corresponding to an estimated abundance of 38 and 45 animals for this transboundary Sino-Russian population.In a maximum likelihood framework,we estimated densities of 0.30 and 0.24 individuals/100 km^(2) corresponding to abundances of 34 and 27,in 2013 and 2014,respectively.These density estimates are comparable to other published estimates for resident Amur tiger populations in the Russian Far East.This study reveals promising signs of tiger recovery in Northeast China,and demonstrates the importance of connectivity between the Russian and Chinese populations for recovering tigers in Northeast China. | Wenhong XIAO Limin FENG Pu MOU Dale GMIQUELLE Mark HEBBLEWHITE Joshua FGOLDBERG Hugh SROBINSON Xiaodan ZHAO Bo ZHOU Tianming WANG Jianping GE | 2016 | Integrative Zoology2016,11,4: | 4 |
| 2 | A novel cross-modal hashing algorithm based on multimodal deep learning显示文摘With the growing popularity of multimodal data on the Web, cross-modal retrieval on large-scale multimedia databases has become an important research topic. Cross-modal retrieval methods based on hashing assume that there is a latent space shared by multimodal features. To model the relationship among heterogeneous data, most existing methods embed the data into a joint abstraction space by linear projections. However,these approaches are sensitive to noise in the data and are unable to make use of unlabeled data and multimodal data with missing values in real-world applications. To address these challenges, we proposed a novel multimodal deep-learning-based hash(MDLH) algorithm. In particular, MDLH uses a deep neural network to encode heterogeneous features into a compact common representation and learns the hash functions based on the common representation. | 3 | Study and Implementation of a New SQL-Based ETL Approach显示文摘This paper analyzes the main characteristics,benefits,and disadvantages of existing traditional ETL(extraction,trans-formation,loading) methods,and summaries some factors affect-ing the performance of ETL tools. Then,a new ETL approach,E-LT(extraction,loading and transformation) ,is proposed. The E-LT approach applies database mapping technique to realize that loading stage and transformation stage in the ETL process are performed at the same time after the extraction stage. Thus,it can use SQL commands to complete loading and transformation proc-essing,and eliminates the staging area before loading in traditional ETL process. The framework of an ETL engine based on E-LT method is presented. The ETL process including initial loading and incremental refreshment is discussed in detail,and the SQL-based algorithm for initial loading is presented. The per-formance of E-LT method on loading throughout outperforms some commercial ETL approaches by experimental proof and theoretical analysis. | 5 | Semantic movie summarization based on string of IE-Role Nets显示文摘Roles, their emotion, and interactions between them are three key elements for semantic content understanding of movies. In this paper, we proposed a novel movie summarization method to capture the semantic content in movies based on a string of IE-Role Nets. An IE-Role Net(interaction and emotion rolenet) models the emotion and interactions of roles in a shot of the movie. The whole movie is represented as a string of IE-Role Nets. Summarization of a movie is transformed into finding an optimal substring with user-specified summarization ratio.Hierarchical substring mining is conducted to find an optimal substring of the whole movie. We have conducted objective and subjective experiments on our method. | 6 | Genome-wide development and utilization of Simple Sequence Repeats in Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa L.ssp.pekinensis)显示文摘With the complementation of whole-genome sequencing of Chinese cabbage,it is necessary to develop genome-wide Simple Sequence Repeat(SSR)markers and analyse their characteristics,which will bring a revolution in the molecular marker-assisted breeding of Chinese cabbage.In this study distribution and characteristics of SSR loci in the genome of Chinese cabbage'Chiifu'was analyzed.Finally,a total of 173,892 SSR markers that occurred in 10 chromosomes were identified,and Perfect Repeat Motifs(P type)which is a main form of SSR loci with a mean distance of 1.89 kb/SSR was identified.Among them,mono-,di-,and tri-nucleotide repeat motifs were equally distributed across chromosomes compared with tetra-,penta-,and hexa-nucleotide repeat motifs.The largest proportion of SSR loci consisted of mono-and dinucleotide repeat motifs,which accounted for 93.04%of the total SSR loci.A/T and AT/TA were the most abundant motifs,accounting for 97.61%and 64.05%of the mono-and dinucleotide repeats,respectively.Furthermore,200 SSR markers were used for the amplification of 12 Chinese cabbage germplasm,in which 30 were highly polymorphic.These SSR markers were further used for the association analyses of flowering time of 190 Chinese cabbage accessions.The results revealed that 9 and 10 alleles were associated with bolting and flowering time,respectivley.The results show that development of SSR markers is feasible and useful in marker assisted selection of Chinese cabbage. | Ying Gao Na Li Xiaoguang Li Yin Lu Daling Feng Xiaomeng Zhang Aixia Gu Yunjia Ge Javaria Tabusam Mengyang Liu Yanhua Wang Xueping Chen Shuxing Shen Shuangxia Luo Jianjun Zhao | 2022 | Vegetable Research2022,2,1: | 0 |
