| 3 | Synthesis and Lubrication of Phosphorylcholine Derivative显示文摘The monomer of phosphorylcholine derivative, O-(5-(2-methacryloxy)-3, 3-dimethyl-3-azapentyl)-O’-(ω-hydroxy-octyl)-phosphatequaternary ammonium salt, was designed and synthesized successfully. It was characterized by the spectra of ~1HNMR and Mass spectra (ESI+), and every signal was assigned. Then the lubricating characteristics of the phosphorylcholinederivative were investigated on the tribological setup of ball-oh-flat. The Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene(UHMWPE) flat was rotated against a stainless steel ball with 6 mm diameter. The load was 2.3 N, which corresponded to amaximal Hertz contact pressure of 29 MPa. Water, phosphorylcholine derivative, and Acrylic Acid (AA) solution were used aslubricants, respectively. Compared with AA, the phosphorylcholine derivative shows significant lubrication. It can be stronglyhydrated under water due to the charged segment in chemical structure. | 4 | Laser textured dimple-patterns to govern the surface wettability of superhydrophobic aluminum plates显示文摘A laser texturing technique herein can endow bare aluminum alloy surface with regular dimple-pattern array and thus generates a case hardening.After STA treatment,these laser-textured samples become superhydrophobic.The surface wettability of the laser-textured samples can be regulated by controlling the dimple-pattern dimensions during the laser processing.It is noteworthy that a fluorescence method is utilized to record the zones on the superhydrophobic surface penetrated by small enough water molecules.Compared with a general method of the Cassie-Baxter theoretical calculation,this fluorescence method intuitively exhibits the air trapping ability of the superhydrophobic surface.Furthermore,the laser-textured superhydrophobic samples have a notable hysteresis phenomenon at the initial period of UMT friction because the air cushion trapped within superhydrophobic samples have strong repellency against water droplets on the hydrophilic steel ball.Additionally,such samples display strong mechanical stability in comparison with bare aluminum alloy because of the presence of case hardening on the surface of the laser patterns.The research results above provide a valuable reference for designing a surface with different wettability,which may inspire practical applications in the fields of fluid transport,droplet manipulation,water harvesting and microfluidic devices. | Wei Tong Lingling Cui Rongxian Qiu Chengqi Yan Yuntong Liu Nan Wang Dangsheng Xiong | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,30: | 3 |
| 5 | Surface texturing for adaptive Ag/MoS_2 solid lubricant plating显示文摘The objective of this research is to prepare specially designed surface texture on hard steel surface by electrochemical micromachining (EM) and to incorporate electroless plated Ag/MoS2 solid lubricant coating into the dimples of EM textured steel surface to effectively reduce friction and wear of steel-steel contacts. The friction and wear behavior of the Ag/MoS2 solid lubricant coating on EM textured steel surface was evaluated in relation to the size and spacing of the dimples thereon. The microstructure of as-plated Ag/MoS2 solid lubricant coating and the morphology and elemental composition of the worn coating surface and counterface steel surface were analyzed by means of optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive spectrometry. It is found that electroless plated Ag/MoS2 coating is able to greatly reduce the friction and wear of the EM textured steel disc coupled with GCr15 steel ring, mainly because of the formation of solid self-lubricating layer on the EM textured steel surface and of transferred lubricating film on counterface steel surface. | 7 | Influences of laser powers on microstructure and properties of the coatings on the AZ91HP magnesium alloy显示文摘Al-Si alloy coatings were prepared on AZ91HP magnesium alloy by broad-beam laser cladding; the influences of the powers on the microstructure and properties of the coatings were discussed. It was found that the microstructure of the coatings at the powers of 3 and 3.5 kW was characterized by Mg2Si dendrites, and needle-like Mg2Al3 (hcp) dispersing in the Mg17Al12 matrix, whereas the coating at the power of 2.5 kW was composed of the petal-like Mg2Al3 (fcc) as well as the needle-like Mg2Al3 (hcp). The coating at the power of 4 kW appeared as α-Mg solid solution and Mg2Si, Mg17Al12, as well as Mg2Al3 (hcp). The coatings with the powers of 3 and 3.5 kW exhibited higher microhardness and better wear resistance because of more Mg2Si and Mg17Al12.
