1Interrelationship between chromosome 8 aneuploidy,C-MYC amplification and increased expression in individuals from northern Brazil with gastric adenocarcinoma显示文摘AIM: To investigate chromosome 8 numerical aberra- tions, C-MYC oncogene alterations and its expression in gastric cancer and to correlate these findings with histo- pathological characteristics of gastric tumors. METHODS: Specimens were collected surgically from seven patients with gastric adenocarcinomas. Immu- nostaining for C-MYC and dual-color fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) for C-MYC gene and chromosome 8 centromere were performed. RESULTS: All the cases showed chromosome 8 aneu- ploidy and C-MYC amplification, in both the diffuse and intestinal histopathological types of Lauren. No significant difference (P < 0.05) was observed between the level ofchromosome 8 ploidy and the site, stage or histological type of the adenocarcinomas. C-MYC high amplification, like homogeneously stained regions (HSRs) and double minutes (DMs), was observed only in the intestinal-type. Structural rearrangement of C-MYC, like translocation, was observed only in the diffuse type. Regarding C-MYC gene, a significant difference (P < 0.05) was observed between the two histological types. The C-MYC protein was expressed in all the studied cases. In the intestinal- type the C-MYC immunoreactivity was localized only in the nucleus and in the diffuse type in the nucleus and cytoplasm. 4^(11)C-PK11195 plasma metabolization has the same rate in multiple sclerosis patients and healthy controls:a cross-sectional study显示文摘^(11)C-PK11195 is a positron emitter tracer used for Positron Emission Tomography(PET)imaging of innate immune cell activation in studies of neuroinflammatory diseases.For the image quantitative analysis,it is necessary to quantify the intact fraction of this tracer in the arterial plasma during imaging acquisition(plasma intact fraction).Due to the complexity and costs involved in this analysis it is important to evaluate the real necessity of individual analysis in each 11C-PK11195 PET imaging acquisition.The purpose of this study is to compare 11CPK11195 plasma metabolization rate between healthy controls and multiple sclerosis(MS)patients and evaluate the interference of sex,age,treatment,and disease phenotype in the tracer intact fraction measured in arterial plasma samples.11C-PK11195 metabolization rate in arterial plasma was quantified by high performance liquid chromatography in samples from MS patients(n=50)and healthy controls(n=23)at 20,45,and 60 minutes after 11C-PK11195 injection.Analyses were also stratified by sex,age,treatment type,and MS phenotype.The results showed no significant differences in the metabolization rate of healthy controls and MS patients,or in the stratified samples.In conclusion,11C-PK11195 metabolization has the same rate in patients with MS and healthy controls,which is not affected by sex,age,treatment,and disease phenotype.Thus,these findings could contribute to exempting the necessity for tracer metabolization determination in all 11C-PK11195 PET imaging acquisition,by using a population metabolization rate average.The study procedures were approved by the Ethics Committee for Research Projects Analysis of the Hospital das Clinicas of the University of Sao Paulo Medical School(approval No.624.065)on April 23,2014.Aline Morais de Souza Milena Sales Pitombeira Larissa Estessi de Souza Fabio Luiz Navarro Marques Carlos Alberto Buchpiguel Caroline Cristiano Real Daniele de Paula Faria 2021Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,12:1

11Water-induced hydrogenation of graphene/metal interfaces at room temperature:Insights on water intercalation and identification of sites for water splitting显示文摘Though it is well recognized that the space between graphene cover and the metal substrate canact as a two-dimensional(2D)nanoreactor,several issues are still unresolved,including the role of the metal substrate,the mechanisms ruling water intercalation and the identification ofsites at which water is decomposed.Here,we solve these issues by means of density functional theory and high-resolution electron energyloss spectroscopy experiments carried out on graphene grown on(111)-oriented Cu foils.Specifically,we observe decomposition of H2O atroom temperature with only H atoms forming bonds with graphene and with buried OH groups underneath the graphene cover.Ourtheoretical model discloses physicochemical mechanisms ruling the migration and decomposition of water on graphene/Cu.We discover thatthe edge of graphene can be easily saturated by H through decomposition of H2O,which allows H2O to migrate in the subsurface region from thedecoupled edge,where H2O decomposes at room temperature.Hydrogen atoms produced by the decomposition of H2O initially form a chemicalbond with graphene for the lower energy barrier compared with other routes.These findings are essential to exploit graphene/Cu interfaces incatalysis and in energy-related applications.Guangyu He Qi Wang Hak Ki Yu Daniel Farias Yingchun Liu Antonio Politano 2019Nano Research2019,12,12:0

13The potential of Hoplias malabaricus(Characiformes:Erythrinidae),a Neotropical carnivore,for aquaculture显示文摘We describe key production-related traits of trahira(Hoplias malabaricus),an aquaculture candidate species,in a semi-intensive fish farming system.We quantified growth from hatch through grow-out at two stocking densities and evaluated fillet protein,lipids and fatty-acid content.We made 2430 observations of growth and morphometrics on 270 juvenile fish allocated to four fish ponds,two at 5 fish/m^(2)(90 animals)and two at 10 fish/m^(2)(180 animals)through 11 months.The fish reached an average length of 27.5 cm(±0.38)and 27.0 cm(±0.24),and weight of 263.0 g(±10.54)and 246.7 g(±6.89),respectively,at the low and high densities.There was no significant difference in weight(P>0.05)between the densities for any of the parameters assessed,and hence the same growth curve applied to both densities(A=292.9;B=28.1;and K=0.65).Standard length,however,differed significantly(P<0.05)between densities,with K=0.35 at the low and K=0.29 at the high density.At both stocking densities,total lipids increased throughout the trial,while protein content decreased.Oleic acid(C18:0)increased throughout the experimental period,while docosahexaenoic acid and the n3/n6 profile decreased,with no differences among stocking densities.Hoplias malabaricus may prove a viable aquaculture species in Neotropical regions,where development of native species may contribute to sustainable aquaculture production.Marcos Daniel Renó Faria Aderbal Cavalcante-Neto Ivan Bezerra Allaman Aline Dal’Olio Gomes Renata Guimarães Moreira Eric M.Hallerman Alexandre Wagner Silva Hilsdorf 2019Aquaculture and Fisheries2019,4,3:0
